How to get Cumulative Update packages for SQL Server Compact v3.5 SP2 for use on a Windows Mobile device

There are links on the pages for various Cummulative Updates for SQL Compact v3.5 SP2 which look to relate to the desktop version, but are these also available for Windows Mobile devices?  If so, what is the process to get hold of them?
We are seeing intermittent problems with corrupted databases on devices which are using SQL Compact v3.5 SP2 and have seen that some of the Cumulative Updates do relate to corruption and would like to see if these can help to solve the issue.

Just select the KB article, at the top of each there is a link to request a hotfix, you will then get a email with a download link. The 8088 and 8109 hotfixes also apply to Windows Mobile.

  • How to create conditional update trigger in sql server

    How to create conditional update trigger in sql server

    You cant create a conditional update trigger. Once you create an update trigger it will get called for every update action. However you could write logic inside it to make it do your activity based on your condition using IF condition statement
    Say for example if you've table with 6 columns and you want some logic to be implemented on update trigger only if col3 and col5 are participating in update operation you can write trigger like this
    CREATE TRIGGER Trg_TableName_Upd
    ON TableName
    FOR UPDATE
    AS
    BEGIN
    IF UPDATE(Col3) OR UPDATE (Col5)
    BEGIN
    ....your actual logic here
    END
    END
    UPDATE() function will check if column was involved in update operation and returns a boolean result

    When I run the Windows Update it appears to download well the package.
    Then when it begins to install  I get the error "84C4000E: Se ha producido un error con Windows Update" (our server is in Spanish).
    I have the last updates for Windows Server, a rebooted our server and the issue remains.
    Any idea of what should I do to get the SP1 update?
    Thanks in advance.

  • How to calculate a rolling average within SQL Server Compact

    There are at least a dozen ways to skin this cat in regular SQL Server, but I am trying to solve this problem within the limitations of SQL CE. I have a table of stock values:
    Stock, Date, Open, High, Low, Close
    and I want to add 1 column "RollingAVG" which is simply the AVG(Close) over a specified timeframe (say 30 days)
    This code here works in SQL Server 2012 just fine (of course) but I need something that produces the same results in SQL CE.  Any thoughts?  Thanks!
    SELECT b.Symbol,b.DateTrade, b.ValueClose,
    (SELECT
    AVG(a.ValueClose)
    FROM
    HistoryPrice a
    WHERE
    a.DateTrade >= DATEADD(d,-30,b.DateTrade)
    AND a.DateTrade <= b.DateTrade
    AND a.Symbol = b.Symbol
    ) as Rolling30Close
    (SELECT
    MIN(a.ValueLow)
    FROM
    HistoryPrice a
    WHERE
    a.DateTrade >= DATEADD(d,-30,b.DateTrade)
    AND a.DateTrade <= b.DateTrade
    AND a.Symbol = b.Symbol
    ) as Min30Day
    (SELECT
    MAX(a.ValueHigh)
    FROM
    HistoryPrice a
    WHERE
    a.DateTrade >= DATEADD(d,-30,b.DateTrade)
    AND a.DateTrade <= b.DateTrade
    AND a.Symbol = b.Symbol
    ) as Max30Day
    FROM
    HistoryPrice b
    order by Symbol,DateTrade desc

    Hi,
    AVG function is supported in SQL Server Compact. However, embedded select clause is not supported in Visual Studio and a SQL Execution error will be thrown out.
    I suggest you optimize your query. You can refer to the below code:

  • How to get only updated records for a column using loading type INSERT

    Hi,
    Good morning all,
    I have source1 containg 3 columns bill_cd,bill_desc,bill_date and
    source2 has the columns bill_cd,bill_key,source_id.
    My target has the columns bill_cd,bill_date,bill_desc .
    Now the requirement is, bill_cd in target should not repeated when we run the mapping more than one thime. it should get only updated records not the previous records using only INSERT Loading type(for target) not to use update/insert.
    How can we achieve this logic in mapping level.
    Anybody Please give me some solution immediately.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Siv

    Thanks Herzog for your reply,
    Here bill_cd is not unique. Yes,I want only new records using INSERT as loading type. Suppose when the map runs for the first time, bill_cd is loaded with values 1 to 5.
    Now, in the source I have got new records 6 to 10 for bill_cd and when I run the mapping again I need to get only records for bill_cd from 6 to 10 using INSERT as loading type.
    Is it possible to achieve this at mapping level?
    Regards,
    Siv.

  • How to get Database creation history in sql server

    I have delete one database on my server, I want to know what was the MDF path for that Deleted  database do we have any way to get that .?
    Regards Vikas Pathak

    Hello,
    Once you delete the database SQL Server keeps information temporarily on the default trace about who deleted a database,
    the name of the database (or object), at what time and the transaction number among the information provided. However, the default trace does not provide information about the location of the database files deleted.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to get a EAR package for deploying without local data-source setting in JDev9i?

    Hi all,
    I want to use pooled data-sources defined in OC4J's global configuration setting directory in JDEV_HOME\j2ee\home\config.
    But when I packaged my application to an EAR file,it contains it's local data-sources.xml file in the package.Each time the server was restared,the local data-sources.xml file was overwritten by the originally setting in the EAR package,thus I cannot use the pooled settings.
    So could let me know how to package a EAR file without containing it's local data-source setting,but use the global data-source setting?Or how to control the local data-source setting without changed after mannully defined.
    Your reply is greatly appreciated!
    Regards,
    Robbin Woo

    Mike,
    You don't need a File to do what you want. Even if you could, it would be wrong to use a file.
    It would be wrong, because the compiler might not by using a JavaFileManager that is actually backed by a filesystem. It could be backed by some form of repository such as a database, or it could be backed by a transient in memory file system ( An example of the latter is the [annotation processor test framework|https://hickory.dev.java.net/nonav/apidocs/index.html?net/java/dev/hickory/testing/package-summary.html] in hickory)
    But probably of more interest to you, you don't need to because you can simply [get an InputStream|http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/api/javax/tools/FileObject.html#openInputStream()] from the FileObject returned from [filer.getResource(...)|http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/api/javax/annotation/processing/Filer.html#getResource(javax.tools.JavaFileManager.Location,%20java.lang.CharSequence,%20java.lang.CharSequence)] and read it.
    You might also find the [Compiler Tree API|http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/jdk/api/javac/tree/index.html] useful. The Compiler Tree API is available to annotation processors running in Oracle's (Sun's) javac, but not in other compilers (possibly limiting portability).
    With this API you can [convert |http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/jdk/api/javac/tree/com/sun/source/util/Trees.html#getPath(javax.lang.model.element.Element)] the Element representing the annotation to a Treepath then [get the leaf node|http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/jdk/api/javac/tree/com/sun/source/util/TreePath.html#getLeaf()] and from that tree [obtain its offsets|http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/jdk/api/javac/tree/com/sun/source/util/Trees.html#getSourcePositions()] within the source file.

  • How to get HTML form name for use in Portal Form's custom layout?

    I want to add a date selector to a Portal Form but the NAME attribute of the FORM HTML tag is dynamic.
    To add a calendar icon that opens a date selector, I add the following tags to the custom layout after the date form field:
    <img src="/images/calendar.gif" height="16" width="16" border="0">
    The <form field name> is static, but the <form name> appears to be dynamic (e.g. WWVM3115, WWVM3116, WWVM3117, ...).
    The custom layout uses substitution variables for the form fields and labels. Is there a substitution variable for the form name?

    Here's the javascript function someone recommended several years ago (on an oracle portal forum) that I've used successfully to reference fields in non-portlet portal forms:
    function findItem(pFieldName) {
    var vFormElements = document.forms[0].elements;
    for(var i = 0; i < vFormElements.length; i++) {
    if (vFormElements.name.indexOf("."+pFieldName+".") > -1) return i;
    document.write(i);
    return -1;
    You can then reference the portal form field name using the column/field name only:
    document.forms[0].elements[(findItem('COLUMN_NAME_HERE'))]

  • SQL Server CE 3.5 SP2 - SQLCE Toolbox / Automated Database Schema Upgrade Scripting / Drop Index

    I am provisioning for automated database schema upgrades in a Windows Forms Application (VS2010/VB) which uses SQL Server Compact 3.5 SP2.  A portion of the schema upgrade procedure uses TSQL commands passed to SQLCE like the following:
    cmd.CommandText = "DROP INDEX [SaleComps$ProjID]"
    cmd.ExecuteNonQuery()
    However, when this command is processed by the SQLCE engine, I get the following error:
    Command: DROP INDEX [SaleComps].[ProjID]
    Error: The specified index does not exist. [ ProjID ]
    But, if I try to recreate the index (or try to change the index column) I get the following errors which indicate that the index is still there:
    Command: ALTER TABLE [SaleComps] ALTER COLUMN [ProjID] nvarchar(20) NULL
    Error: Cannot alter a column that is part of a key or an index. [ Index Name = SaleComps$ProjID,Column = ProjID ]
    Command: CREATE INDEX "SaleComps$ProjID" ON "SaleComps" ("ProjID" ASC)
    Error: The specified index already exists. [ SaleComps$ProjID ]
    Any ideas why this would not be working? Thanks!
    -BGood

    No, I was guessing at the syntax from reviewing other web postings, some of which were in different SQL dialects.
    While your SQLCE Toolbox did not provide the DROP INDEX command, it did provide most of the "Schema Diff" scripting commands.  In hindsight, maybe SQLCE Toolbox should recognize when schema differences involve a Column which is used in an index, and
    DROP the index before executing the ALTER COLUMN command, then re-CREATE the index with the modified column.
    Despite this shortcoming, I am very thankful for the help provided by SQLCE Toolbox, and learned a little more about SQL scripting in the process.
    Thanks, ErikEJ!

  • Windows 7 and SQL Server Compact 3.5

    Im trying to connect to a SQL Server Compact 3.5 that I have installed on Windows Embedded Compact 7 (Windows CE basically) running on ARM. I got the DB up and running but I cant connect to it.
    Ive read there is no ODBC driver for it. What is the best way to connect to it thru Windows 7?
    Thank you

    You cannot connect to SQL Server Compact remotely, it is an embedded, in-process database.
    If you can establish a ActiveSync/WMDC connection to your devcice, you can connect using SQL Server management Studio Express 2008 R2 (via the ActiveSync connection)

  • SQL Server Compact 3.5/4.0 - Client / Server .sdf database file compatibility

    I am considering connecting autonomous Windows Desktop PCs with SQL Server Compact 3.5 SP2 databases via an ASP Website and would like to provide database upload/download capabilities.
    If I use SQL Server Compact 4.0 as the Website database, will the desktop and website files be interchangeable so database files can be uploaded and downloaded without conversion?
    I presume that since the database structure is ado.net in both cases, it will not matter that the ASP website could be using Entity Framework and the Desktop PCs using Linq to SQL as OR/M?
    Thanks for any guidance.
    -BGood

    >>  I can upload .sdf files to the ASP website and have the website convert to 4.0,
    Yes, you can use SqlCeEngine.Upgrade for this
    >> for download purposes I need to develop a REST API
    No neccesarily, as you could use my scripting libs to script the 4.0 database file to a script, then
    create a new file (alos using my scripting libs) and run the script against the database file (also using my scripting libs) - all on the web server. Remeber to allow 3.5 to run on the web server: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/stevelasker/archive/2006/11/27/sql-server-compact-edition-under-asp-net-and-iis.aspx
