How do I create a zoom transition in Premiere Elements 9?

Hello,
Could you tell me how do I zoom in Adobe Premiere Elements 9? And I mean a slow zoom transition, not a non-transitioning zoom that "jumps" into zoom from one frame to the other.
Thanks,
Andrey

If you stretch out the Duration of the included Zoom Transition, does that not do what you want?
When I need Transitions, beyond what come with PrE and PrPro, I usually go to Pixelan's Spice Master first, and sort of "build my own."
Good luck,
Hunt

Thanks for the reply =) can you go more into detail on how to get each half to connect coming from opposite ways?
That could be easily done by duplicating it, masking out the two halves (one side on each layer), and then animating the position of those two layers.

You have to do it manually.
Use the marquee tools to define the components of the template, then apply a stroke via the Edit menu. It's best to place the stroke on a separate layer, and position with the move tool.
You may fine it helpful to have the grid open for orientation.

Are you referring to how many times can I install, uninstall, reinstall Photoshop Elements 13 or Premiere Elements 13 on the same computer?
Or, how many of your computers can have a same purchased activated serial number at the same time for either of these products?
If the former, I know of no limit.
If the latter, the answer would be as John as mentioned.

    Hi everyone,
I am slowly getting to grips with Premiere Elements12.
When uploading to Facebook how can I remove the "via Photoshop & Adobe Premiere Elements Uploader" ?
I see there was an earlier posting (http://forums.adobe.com/message/3320214#3320214) which was for version 8, and I can understand the issue, but, (assuming its the same issue) has a remove tagline feature been installed??
Is this also the same in the Pro version?
Thanks in advance for any good info

I do not know if Premiere Pro CS6 CC offers an upload to Facebook export. Strictly an Elements Windows person here.
The Premiere Pro Forum is a good place to ask about that.

I do not have any Facebook accounts, so I cannot answer your specific Facebook question, but generalizing I can offer the following suggestions.
If your issue with Publish+Share/Computer/Social websites/Facebook is with tagging, you might want to check the Facebook web site for the Video Manager section of it (or that by some counterpart name). I know that YouTube at the YouTube web site allows the account holder to go into Video Manager and manage his/her tags for the file uploaded there and displaying. Have you been there and done that type of thing for your Facebook upload.
    Please see

Please review and then let us know the outcome.
    Thank you.

Add On...As suggested in your inserted link, in Premiere Elements can you export to file saved to computer hard drive and then upload that file from there to Facebook at the Facebook web site without the tagging issue?

  • How do i convert a slideshow made in premiere elements 11 to premiere elements 12

how do i convert a slideshow made in premiere elements 11 to premiere elements 12

    rfgold17
Given that you have Photoshop Elements 11 and Premiere Elements 12 on the same computer....
    1. Know the name of the Elements Organizer 11 catalog (See Elements Organizer 11 File Menu/Manage Catalogs/Catalog Manager).
    Close out of there.
    2. Open the Elements Organizer 12, accessed from Premiere Elements 12.
    3. In the Elements Organizer 12, go to File Menu/Manage Catalogs/Catalog Manager and click on the Convert button in the Catalog Manager dialog.
    4. In the Convert Catalog dialog that appears, look for the name of your Elements Organizer 11 catalog, select it, and then hit the Convert command at the bottom of that Convert Catalog dialog.
    5. From that point onward, follow the messages that you get from the program. (If you have any problems, I will go into deeper details.)
When all is done, you will have your Elements Organizer 11 catalog opened in Elements Organizer 12 where it will remain in use until you switch to another catalog there. Your Elements Organizer 11 will remain as it was in Elements Organizer 11. Moving forward, what you do in the converted catalog in Elements Organizer 12 will not affect the Elements Organizer 11 and vice versa.
Please let us know if you are OK with the above and if it worked for you.
    Thank you.

  • How to use the stabilizer effect on Adobe premiere elements 11

Can anyone show me how to use the video stabilizer effect on premiere elements 11 step by step ?
    Thank you !

    achiu8888
I suspect that the principles would lend themselves to a step by step but how the effect works with your specific video will depend upon the degree of shakiness and other factors.
    1. Your video clip on the Timeline of a project with the project settings which match the properties of your source video (part of all works whether or not the Stabilizer is involved.
    2. Go to fx Effects Tab at the bottom of the Expert View, navigate to the Video Stabilizer and click on it to view its thumbnail. Drag the effect's thumbnail from there into the video clip on the Timeline.
3 I ran into an online excerpt of the Video Stabilizer in Adobe's Classroom in a Book, you may want to follow the path from there.
    http://books.google.com/books?id=7zdjWNElM1IC&pg=PT252&lpg=PT252&dq=premiere+elements+stab ilizer&source=bl&ots=YM4HHrmZAl&sig=MpFt6GJn7IkgESWBZ6sC6wA7aEM&hl=en&sa=X&ei=ZZ2zUbbVI5W3 4APDq4D4DQ&sqi=2&ved=0CHoQ6AEwBw
Also, you might want to put that information together with Adobe Effects Reference's description of the options iin the Applied Effects Palette/Stabilizer Panel.
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/premiereelements/using/WS4B8135DA-083C-42eb-B09E-65070ECBC889. html#WSeffff8bffc802084cc1873012fdd6069b3-8000
(Scroll down until you get to Video Stabilizer options description.)
The above should supply with good starter information. If you need clarification on anything that I have written, please do not hesitate to ask.

  • Transitions in Premiere elements 10 not loading

Transitions in Premiere elements 10 will not load, everything else seems to be working well but when I click on Edit Transitions it just gets stuck on loading or the whole program stops working. Have downloaded the latest driver for the graphics card AMD HD 5600 Windows is up to date CS5 works on the same machine no problems at all. Is there something I am not doing correctly?

    Welcome to the forum.
Along with Steve's suggestions, and as many of those Transitions are animated, I would check that you have the latest video driver installed. Do not trust Windows to tell you if your video driver is up to date - check on the card's/chip's mfgr's. Web site.
What make/model video card/chip do you have?
What is the verson/date of your video driver?

  • How to Cut, Label, Save sports clips (40Hours, 500GB, 1080p AVCHD Source) for creating season highlight video in Premiere Elements 13?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions you can provide to help me.
I have filmed all of my son's basketball games this season and we are heading into the playoffs soon. I would like to find an efficient way to cut, label, and save video clips to create a highlight movie for the team banquet.
All video is AVCHD and saved on hard drive. A few games were recorded with a Sony camcorder 1920x1980i30(*.mt2s), the rest with my Canon DSLR1920x1080p30(*.mov). I will have about 35 or 40 hours of video by the end of the season. Probably around half a terabyte.
I own licenses to the following video editors.
Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11.
Adobe Premiere Elements 13 that I just purchased bundled with Photoshop Elements 13.
I struggled with burning AVCHD disks with the Sony software, so did the Adobe trial and everything worked great so I bought it.
I went through one game and clipped the highlights, but can't figure out how to label them, or export them as individual highlight files.  I guess I would be OK doing this all in a single project if I knew that it would work, and if I could find a way to label the clips so that I can arrange them without having to preview the clip every time.
I am open to using other tools if they don't cost too much, free would be awesome since I don't do this professionally.
    Thanks!

    GreatFun,
Yes, while I couldn't spend much time today at work reviewing the link ATR provided, at a high level I like ATR's approach as well, and it definitely is advantageous for that use case and rendering only the final product. My use case is a bit different. My son's high school webcasts each match which I then pull off their Youtube channel (with their permission, of course) and use their camera angles and their play-by-play guys commentary (again, with permission) to augment my video (which are closer to the action and much better quality than theirs, I must say). The kids get a kick out of hearing the play-by-play guy yell their name when the score or make a great play. So that is why I produce my clips separately. To me it is cleaner and I can store them for later use outside PE or any other project.
Anyway, regarding the actual shooting of the video. I've been doing this for awhile and there are two elements that are a must for any soccer shoot: a good solid tripod with fluid panning ability, and height. Getting above the action (like atop bleachers), for the most part, is an advantage most of the time. That is why professional sports are shot from above. While I do like to take a few minutes of every game to get on the sidelines and film at field level (this adds a bit of variety to the finished product, and you can't beat the ambient sounds you get when the players grunt and groan), you just can't capture the flow of the game from that angle.
The purpose of your video will dictate your composition. Are you trying to always focus on one player (one particular forward, back, midfielder or keeper) and get their every move (for the purpose of say, college recruitment purposes), regardless of where the ball or action is? If so, you'll want to stay tight on them, but not too tight - know where the action is and use the rule of thirds here with your subject player always in the left or right most third. Let the action, in this case, the ball, enter from the opposite third your player is in to allow the viewer to see a glimpse of what led up to your subject being engaged with the action. If your subject is a keeper, that is the easiest position to focus on of all. When filming just a keeper, I like to set my tripod up along the touch line about 30 yards from the goal line (again, elevated if possible), compose the shot using thirds again so as to let the viewer see the passing action as the goal is attacked. Its great to get a clip of the keeper making a save, but it can be much more impressive and entertaining to a viewer to see how it all unfolds and the choices the goalie has to make to be in the right position to make the save.
If your intent is to film the action where the ball is, regardless of the player or team that has the ball (like most professional sports coverage), it is much better to cast a wide composition. As you mention, it is difficult to find that sweet spot between being too far out and missing the intimacy, or being too close in and simply giving the viewer a headache as the shots zip around as you try and follow the ball. I've found the sweet spot for me is to shoot always keeping a quarter of the pitch in view. This allows for tight enough composition to keep the viewer engaged with the action, without having to jerk the shot around so much as to make them throw up. Soccer is quite fast paced at the high school level and there is quite a bit of "switching the field", where a wing will lob the ball completely across the width of the field to the opposite wing. If you are in too tight, you'll have to pan very quickly to the receiving side, and if done a lot, will not make for very entertaining viewing. There are other examples of why you shouldn't be too tight, but you get the idea.
I've probably written too long a post as it is for this forum, but I hope I've given you some things to consider on your next shoot.
    Good health to you!

  • How to create a custom Project Preset Premiere Elements 9?

    Hi,
In the help documentation of Premiere Elements 9 it says that i can create a new Project Preset: "The procedure for creating a preset differs if you’re changing settings for an open project versus establishing settings for a new project. Presets you create can be applied to new projects, and if you want to back up or distribute preset files, you can find them in the Settings subfolder of the Adobe Premiere Elements folder on your hard disk." Sadly, i can't find the specific instructions that would help me to establish settings for a new project and save it.

  • I can't change the pan / zoom duration in Premiere Elements 13

Ok I'm getting really frustrated especially after I just watched a video tutorial which clearly shows how to do this in Premiere Elements 10 and I have JUST purchased version 13!
What I'm not able to adjust is the speed or duration between focus frames in a pan / zoom; after it's set up.
You are supposed to be able to go into the PAN TOOL, and either click on the pan duration, or in the In the Pan Time dialog, scrub the time duration to the desired value, or enter a value in the dialog box, OR simply adjust / drag the focus frame markers in the timeline (like in the video tutorial I watched...) to change the pan duration.  In my software at least NONE of these work.  (All these from:  Adobe Premiere Elements Help | Pan and zoom to create video-like effect)
I can't click on the pan duration, well if I do nothing happens, I can't even get a Pan Time Dialog box; so I can't do it that way; and lastly I can't click and adjust the focus frame markers in the timeline....none of it works and I can hardly believe that this is correct...the only way that I can adjust the pan time, is to delete the effect completely and start it over...this can't be correct can it??
    Any help would be appreciated!!!

Ok yep you are great, so I'm sorry I'm attempting to do it on video clips, not stills.
I was aware that the last versions of PE had similar Pan and Zoom workspaces, that's why I knew or thought I knew that my situation could be solved.
The first link that you recommend is exactly where I got the third paragraph of my question, so I had already reviewed that and to me when you read the directive it still makes it sound like you can adjust the focus frame markers....?  (very confusing)
The second link you sent might have helped me realize that the tool doesn't work the same way for Stills and it does for Video clips; (I really think like on the Adobe web site this difference should be markedly more clear to help with confusion; but in their defense maybe it's me being slow to understand)
I was able to figure out some of the difference through perseverance last night, and did figure out (like your last link explains) that you can move the CTI and then add a new focus frame...BUT I still have my original question...how can you adjust the pan duration on a video clip after it's been made and you have left the pan and zoom tool like if you want to edit that timing... I think the answer is that you can't lol, I think it has to be deleted or a new focus frame added and the other deleted to adjust the timing...am I correct?
This quote is taken from the Adobe web site one of the links you shared
You can work with focus frames in videos the same way that you work with focus frames for images. However, only those options that are relevant to movie clips appear in the pan and zoom tool.
I think maybe the last sentence is attempting to explain that but it's just so ambiguous...
Just trying to figure it out!  I do appreciate your help!

  • How can I turn off background features in Premiere Elements 8?

There are two features that run in the background while you're working in Premiere Elements 8 which, while useful, can interfere with your other work. So, if you find your computer running sluggishly, you may want to try disabling them.
Background Rendering renders all non-DV footage or footage to which effects or transitions have been applied on your timeline automatically. (Clips which appear on the timeline with a red line above them need to be rendered in order to show at full quality.) To turn off this feature, go to Edit/Preferences and uncheck the Background Rendering option.
To manually render your video, press Enter. The red lines above your clips will turn green when rendering is complete.
The Organizer also runs a background feature called the Auto Analyzer. To disable it, go to the Organizer's Edit/Preferences and select the Auto Analyzer page. Uncheck this option.
Note that the Auto Analyzer creates Smart Tags, which are necessary in order for the program to Auto Enhance your clips. If you turn off the Auto Analyzer, then, you will also disable the Auto Enhance feature.
Finally, as an added tweak, go to Premiere Elements' Edit/Preferences and set Timeline Scrolling to Page Scroll. The default setting (Smooth Scrolling) continually moves the timeline as your video plays, wasting unnecessary resources.

That is not standard behavior. You may have installed an extension that causes it.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
    See:
    * [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]]
