How do I create an inventory report?
I want to make a report that tells me the inventory levels of each product in my store. How can I do this?
I'm not sure how to do this with Reports in BC, but could you make use of the products export feature?
The export is to CSV which includes "In Stock" field.

I have a need to create a PDF report with graphics and signature and somehow attached the PDF document to and email to send out. This is all hopefully done in my APEX application. Has anyone done anything similar?
I have several projects that use PL/PDF - with the pdf form filling API's - to populate pdf form and then attach the output to a BLOB variable in PL/SQL - which can then be attached to e-mail, displayed to user's browser, and saved into a BLOB column in a table. If you are comfotable with coding PL/SQL packages, this is not difficult to do at all.
The goodness of PL/PDF is that it is composed of PL/SQL packages with some wrapped Java programs - the output is generated directly from the database. You don't need to deal with the complexity and security concerns of calling an external Java middle tier to return the document. However, if you are not comfortable with PL/SQL coding, this may be a lot of work because the software does not have a report designer like Oracle BI Publisher, which costs more than $90K to run on a 2-CPU Server.

We are creating somany reports. for each time we have to redesign same work.. My client has some standards every report should looks same. I mean Logo, Client Name, Color of the bar, font size, Style, Format, back ground color etc......
Is there any way we can create one master report with all my client standards. Then developers no need to do same work again and again in each and every report.

As far as presentation of "letters" / "numbers" at reports , in the configuration of each column,you can select to be this style default for the whole scenario..(i,e, always calendar.date column has 11-verdana-bold size...and so...)
Your most valuable tool is firebug,with this you can change the css....(more details in blog...)

How Can I Create a Record/Report Grid on a Page
I want to build a page on which I can display a MySQL table record grid as a report, so that a user can select certain lines for further processing (e.g. emailing "action due" information to a customer). I've searched and searched, but everything I find just dances around the edges.
For example, I want to be able to display the results of a MySQL query into a customer detail, based on an action date in the records, in a row/column grid, so that those with an action due can be selected, and an email sent to the customers reminding them to post the required action code. The columns in each row would include: Customer ID, Employee/Applicant's Name, DOB & SSN, the current Action Date and Code.
OK, well I guess after two weeks without a response, I must be some kind of outcast, though I don't know why/how that happened. While I'm new to web programming, I'm trying to learn, and attempting to follow the rules, when I know what they are.

The process is to first populate the values in the lookup(can be a part of main table or qualified table) and hierarchy tables. Once done, create the main table record and then fill the details in the qualified table for that particular main table record. Since the details of the qualified table are stored in the link established between main table record and qualified table record hence you cannot first create a qualified table record before creating main table record.
Also when you first create a main table record containing set of lookup & hierarchy fields then you wont find the values in the drop down since you have not filled the lookup tables, hence we always fill the lookup table data first.

I have a report requirement which is like this - I have three columns Start Date, End Date, Amount.
An example of data set can be:
Start Date End Date Amount
07/18/2008 07/21/2008 $100.00
07/21/2008 07/22/2008 $200.00
07/21/2008 07/24/2008 $300.00
Now I want to run a report for date range 07/18/2008 to 07/22/2008 such that for each date, if it falls between Start Date and End Date in the table, it will add the Amount and show the result. So the output should be:
Date Total
07/18/2008 $100 //Only first row
07/21/2008 $600 //All three rows as 07/21 is in all three date ranges. Also skipping weekends
07/22/2008 $500 //Row 2+Row 3
How do I do this without having to create a formula for each date and then calculating the total?

Yes! you can create a Report Record formula by going into
Report --> Selection Formula --> Record
Then type this
{date_field} >= {?Start Date} and
{date_field} <= {?End Date} and
{condition field}>=3
Oh and do make parameters of Start Date and End Date in the report. Place them into the report (this will show you the date range within the report).

How do I create a crystal report layout with a table and borders
My crystal report is a signin sheet. The sign in sheet has an ID column, Name column, Institution column, Place to signin column, and Weekday columns with checkboxes in each column for the visitor to checkoff.
How do I display the data that is being used int he crystal report in a table layout with borders around each cell? And is it possible to center vertical alignment of the data within eacvh cell like Excel?Blahahaha! Great answer Deb!
Seriously though... There is no vertical alignment in CR. There have been several past threads related to this issue and all of them have various workarounds. None of them are very elegant.
The best workaround I've found (especially if you are grid or borders) is to turn off the boarders for the field itself and drawl a rectangle around the field(s). Now you can place the field in the lower portion of the rectangle and adjust the rectangles height to place the field text in the center of the rectangle.
This will give you more control over the height of your elements than using a carriage return before the text.

imagination...Feasibility you mean. IMHO, the feasibility of creating that stuff yourself is very low. Reinventing the wheel usually doesn't make it better, and it's likely to be more expensive to pay you for creating an inferior solution (not because of lack of skills, but simply because the available products had a few years time to grow, feature-wise) than to simply buy the licenses. Look at Crystal Reports or JFreeChart or Jasper Reports. Or use Google to look up J2EE-based reporting libraries. There might be more.
Which of these is best, I don't know, I never used any of those. Also, the definition of "best" changes with the requirements. What's better, a Ferrari or a truck? -

The content tracker and ContentTrackerReports components can be installed in UCM server by simple clickable options. Below are the steps to install the Content tacker and Content report.
Steps:
1. Open the UCM instance with admin
2. Click Admin Server under Administration link.
3. Click Content Tracker and ContentTrackerReports checkbox ( under Document Management)
4. Now Click the update button at the bottom.
5. Restart the UCM server instance to see the changes.
Now you will see an option for Content Tracker Reporting. It has some default reports.
Let me know how it goes. If you need.... will explain how you can create your custom reports.

INVENTORY REPORT for customer but not consignment company owned
HI Everyone,
I am working on creating an inventory report and sending it out to a customer.
We have a customer who needs to see their inventory we are going to ship. we are making materials for them on an MTS scenario based on a forecast... So the customer before placing a PO should be able to look at the inventory levels we make for them. on a daily basis.... No what I am trying to is execute a program that sends out an inventory report (the programs I am using are( RSMIPROACT and ROEMPROACT)... I try to fill in the fields and save as a variant and we run it as a background job every morning and we send out an idoc to the customer...
The above process is a scenario that still needs to be worked on...
THe customer should be able to look at only his stock and not any other stock....
Now can we use a display of listing/exclusion function to send out the material stock report.... we need to send the total inv as well as the mat numbers... can we acheive it with the listing/exclusion funtion..
Or is there a program that pulls all the data from the tables which store the customer material info record where we maintain all the materials for a customer...
If there i a better way through which this can eb done please suggest me... thank you..
Once again the above stock is not consignent stock... we are manufacturinng based on the forecasts and we need the customer t be able to look at the stock on a daily basis.... Please help...There is no report / funtionality is SAP to acheive this. Custom program is the only solution. Your logic looks ok, where there is a CMIR maintained, you may pick the total stock from table MARD put into a format/layout and transfer via idoc to the customer.
