With Itunes 9 like earlier versions u have the option to group compilations for browsing, having the effect of not putting a huge list of artists in your view by artist list because they played one song on a compilation you have got. With my old Ipod classic this option was also available through the setting menu. Meaning my ipod exactly mirrored my itunes lists.
I have recently purchased a ipod touch 32 and can find no settings that allow me to do the same. My artist list has risen from 200 to 400 because of this and makes finding albums by artists very annoying.
I have looked on the itunes software and can find no mention of syncing this ability to the ipod either.

Yes i do this to group compilations in itunes.
But when i then sync to the ipod touch the albums come up under compilations as desired but the artists also appear in the artist list which is not.
On my old ipod classic it had a setting to group compilations the same as in itunes which would then remove these odd artists from the artist list.
I can find no equivalent setting on the ipod touch

A rather simple way, regardless of version, may be to:
1) Select everything and scale down;
2) In the Select dropdown click Object, then Text Objects, then Object>Transform>Transform Each and scale up to the original size or to a(nother) suitable one.

You can increase the font size and automatically page view changes. Go to menubar; Reading -> PDF View or Epub Text Size (depending upon the ebook) and increase the size.

Why am I not finding the information and files to download on the Internet--is the government doing something malicious like hacking when I am searching? In Snow Leopard you update Java from Software Update (in the Apple menu). You can check your version by opening Terminal and typing
java -version
(don't get creative and type anything else)
The latest version is 1.6.0_65.

I have Windows 7 and I go in to Control Panel, choose "change theme" and select the theme I want. Then I delete the "unsaved theme" I dislike and empty the recycle bin. I installed the whole theme-package from AUR and was switching through them.
So, I hope there is still an elegant solution for this, losing all settings because of a theme is a real pain in the arse.

I have an iMac and an iPhone 5. My wife has an iPad and an iPhone 4S. We each use different apps. However, we notice that occassionally the iPad will install the apps I have on my iMac. How can I stop this from happening?

You can select the exact content that you want to sync each and every time that you sync if you want to do so. You can also turn off auto sync so that iTunes does not automatically sync without you having the opportunity to select what you want.
Connect the iPad (or the iPhone) to the Mac and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Apps Tab on the right.
Only click on apps that you want to sync. Uncheck the apps that you do not want to sync.
Click on the Sync Apps Heading.
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes

It is recommended that most users not keep auto syncing turned off all of the time so that you do not forget to backup your device. I do not subscribe to that belief myself. Besides I have seen way too many users that claim to sync with iTunes or that use iCloud and they don't have a clue about what a backup is, where they can find it or what to do with it - if they even have one. How to deal with the "driver not installed" message?

My issue, and it seems many others here have it too, is how to install a printer driver in the face of the "driver not installed" message.
In my case, it's an HP4160 Rendevous printer. I've deleted the com.apple.print files in the Library, reinstalled the software, made sure that BDC package, or whatever it's called is installed, even downloaded and run the printer fix software from Fixamac.
Nothing works.
I have the feeling this isn't a printer or driver-specific issue, but is an OS problem. Does anyone have a suggestion?

It appears the Deskjet 4160 will not work with an Airport. Connected via USB, the driver installs normally and the the printer appears to run just fine, although I haven't done much with it yet.
It simply will not work on a wireless network through an Airport. Frustrating, but workable by bringing the laptop to the printer.

How do you find the size of a current layer so you can make other layers the same size

When I have an PSD icon set and I want to size a layer to a size that looks good. How do I see the dimentions of that layer so that I can select another layer and make it the same size.

well that's my point Chris. I have a PSD that has 150 icons in it. I want to take 5 of them and make them the same size 300 x 300 from the 180 that they are.
If I select one and then press Apple T, I can see that it is 180 x 180 in the info window. I can then go to the transform bar at the top where it says 100% x 100% and type in 180px then 180px in the other.

I don't believe the code sample would work. Vars only store numeric amounts in a calc script. I think you have to work at it backward(If it will work) and perhaps fix on the UDA you want then check to see if it is the member. If you are trying to do something like get the uda for a member then use that uda to create a member name for a subsequent calc good luck. I think you would have to create a custom defined macro or function to do that.
One note, Vars in business rules can store other things but in a straight calc script they can't
