How do i freeze/unfreeze window appearance options?

I'm trying to adapt an open source VI from openg and I can't unfreeze the "Window Appearance" options -- how do I do that?
The hack of copying everything from the block diagram and pasting it onto a new VI works but is problematic, I have to copy the icon and re-wire the connector pane, etcetera.

Well, I'm a big fan, I used your cluster tools to make working with databases easy -- so easy, in fact, that I would go as far as saying that Labview with my SQL libraries using your cluster tools is "The Best Way Ever" to read and write to a database. No other programming language makes it so obvious as when the cluster element names and types match the names and types from the DB.
Is there room/interest to merge another library into OpenG?

A long while ago, I posted some example code that uses the OpenG Variant library (oglib_lvdata) to generate a SQL INSERT statement from a cluster, in the way you described. Yes, this is very flexible way to adapt LabVIEW data to a database.

There is definitely room and interest in allowing others to help OpenG grow (that's the whole point, right?). We've got high standards and a process (which are not well documented [documentation is not nearly as exciting as writing code, you know]) but we're working on this and love to have participation. If you want, please feel free to send me what you've got so far, and I'd be happy to take a look and see what it would take to get this OpenG'ified. Also, the OpenG Discussion Forums are a great place to share your ideas, feedback, and bug reports -- but of course, all you need to do is say "OpenG" and I'll hear you

How can I always have popup windows appear on the same screen as PS?

I'm hoping someone can help me out. I have 3 displays connected to my computer, 1 of which is a tablet screen I don't use all the time. (It gets disabled and put away when I turn on SLI for video gaming, or if I just dont need to draw anything at the moment)
If I'm drawing something, I'll drag photoshop over to that 3rd screen and do my work. Later, if I want to just crop or resize an image or do simple image manip stuff, I'll drag the window back over to one of my other two screens. The problem I'm facing is that popup dialogs like the open file, save as, preferences; any new window that photoshop opens, appears on whatever monitor it did last time.
Is there a way to force photoshop to always show those windows centered or at least on the same screen the rest of the program is working on? I've been searching for a while and the closest thing I found was a setting called 'Remember Palette Locations', but it looks like that setting was removed in CS5.
I'm willing to change preferences, run some kind of reset script any time photoshop starts, or whatever, just something that will bring those new windows onto the screen I'm working on instead of where they last were. I sat perplexed for about 1 minute when I saved a picture as PNG. Went to upload it and.. ohp! it hasn't changed! Oh! There is an interlace option dialog is showing on a screen thats TURNED OFF >_>

Thanks for replying, but that isn't the answer I am looking for. Also, there is no + sign, UNLESS you do tap the overlapping boxes.
Let me try to ask my question a little more clearly:
When I tap the two overlapping boxes on the lower left (the option to Open New Windows), the new Window that appears will show your Bookmarked FAVORITES. But with my new iPhone 6, and the new iOS 8.0.2, when I tap the two boxes to open a New Window, my Bookmark Favorites show (as they always have and should), but below them, there is a dividing line underneath them, and it says Recently Viewed Websites, and has these websites available to tap.
So my question is, HOW DO I TURN THESE OPTION OFF?
*UPDATE (10.13.14): Since I have asked this question, I no longer see these Recently Viewed Websites under my Bookmarked Favorites in my new Window tabs. So I hope that Apple fixed it, or somehow it was a mistake, or somehow I changed an Option on my iPhone 6 that stopped this for reoccurring.

How do I get my homepage window to appear when I open FF?
When I go to the dock and click on the FF icon,
''Firefox ''appears in the menu bar but there is no home page window showing. I have to go to ''File'' and select ''New Window'' to get to my home page window.
In FF Preferences I have selected:
"Show my home page" and the correct home page address is shown.
I deleted FF application/program (dragged to trash can) and then re-installed it. That did not help.
I occasionally use Safari and there is no problem with the home page showing right away when I open Safari.

The file you need toi backup is name domain.sites2 and is located in your Users/Home() /Library/Application Support/iWeb folder. Without that file you won't be able to continue to edit and maintain your website.
However, remember this:
NOTE: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Home()/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
So if you're running Lion or Mt Lion you'll need to make that library visible before you can find and backup the domain.sites2 file.

By default Firefox opens a blank page for a new Tab, there is no setting to change that action without installing an add-on.

Hi,
You can't create several windows for one VI. But you can use the "Tab Control" and change tab's in the program. Or you can use sub VI's and show ther front panels.
To show the front panel of a sub VI you have to open the VI you want to show and select "File->VI Properties". In the VI Properties window select Category "Window Appearance" and click Customize...
In the Customize Window Appearence window, here you can set a number of attributes for how the window will appear, select "Show front panel when called" and "Close afterwards if originally closed" click OK and OK and save the VI, done.
Now the VI front panel will appear then you use it as a sub VI.

Here you go. This is simple example. Maybe not the best way, I am just
beginner in LV and still not comfortable with data flow that much. I prefer
events, so I would change this to use Event Structures.
When you click on OK button on SliderMain, it opens Slider.vi. Now both
windows are open and you can interact with both. Now if you click on OK
again with Slider.vi open, you run into problems. Only thing I did was
change VI properties of slider.vi, mainly window appearance.

How to remove a small black window that appears on the upper right corner of my iMac and covers everything behind it every time I open iPhoto?

Every time I open iPhoto on my iMac a small black window appears in the upper right of my desk top and covers everything behind it, including iPhoto. The window says "Blocked Plug-In". I cannot move it, delete it, force quit it, etc. I have quit iPhoto, but the black window remains. I have restarted and shut down the computer, but when I open iPhoto the black window comes back. How do I force a JDialog to appear on top of all windows on my screen?

My CAD software at work has a Java API that I've wrote an app for. I have to display everything in a modal JDialog so that it doesn't conflict with the CAD software. The one problem is when my CAD software launches the dialog it appears behind the CAD window. How can I force the dialog window to be on top of every window on the screen? toFront() doesn't work.
For whatever reason the dialog window is opening unselected while my CAD screen is still the active window in Windows. Is there a way to have a Java app select which window is active in a Windows session? Thanks.

Turns out this a quirk of the CAD software's Java API. I found it by chance in the 500+ page User's Guide. They suggest the work around of hitting Alt-Tab to select the dialog. So I'm not sure if theress a property that I can assign to the dialog to make it appear on top. The line I have is:
JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(new JFrame(), nameOfModels, "Models in Session", JOptionPane.INFORMATION_MESSAGE);The parent JFrame is created only for when the dialog is opened. I can't create a bonafide parent JFrame for the Java API forbids multiple threads. I'm going to continue searching for some type of workaround. One possibility is to have a keyStroke make the Alt-Tab however this may be problematic. Thanks for the response.

i try to turn it on and this window appears telling me i need to restart my computer. i press and hold the power button until it turns off, let it sit for a minute, then turn it back on and the same message appears. i've done this multiple times and the same thing always happens. i called applecare and they said the next step was to reinstall the mac os and wipe my hard drive clean. is there something else i can try before i do that? i really don't want to lose all the stuff on my hard drive (didn't back it up).

It can be caused by either hardware or software. If you have any peripherals attached, e.g. external mouse, remove them.
You could try to boot in safe mode by holding the Shift key as you reboot:

A safe boot will, among other things, do a disk repair. If you can get booted up, use the opportunity to back up. You could then try to boot normally.
