How do I get the location bar drop-down list to show the most recently visited page at the top? I have no idea how it's deciding what to display.

In IE when you show the drop-down list from the location bar, it show you all of your most recently visited pages in descending order with the most recent at the top. Firefox is showing me a list that I have no idea where it's getting the pages from or how it's ordering them. It doesn't update the pages or the order when I go to a new page. I have recently switched from IE to Firefox and cannot figure out how to get Firefox to do this; very annoying.

That drop down list doesn't show recently visited pages, but shows list list of most visited sites sorted by what the Mozilla devs call frecency (frequency and recency) and is based on bonus points. It is not possible to have much influence on what shows on that list.
If you want a list of recently visited sites then you can use a smart bookmark e.g. on the Bookmarks Toolbar with the location set to this smart folder.<br />
Name: <b>Recently Visited</b><br />
Location: <b>place:queryType=0&sort=4&maxResults=30</b><br />
You need to close and restart Firefox to make that folder work as intended.

  • How do I get a URL to display in the Awesome Bar drop down list? Some URL's appear in this drop down but I can't figure how they got there.

    There is a drop down list from the Awesome Bar containing some of my most frequently visited sites. How can I add URL's to this list?

    The location bar drop-down list shows items based on visited count (bonus points and frecency: frequency and recency) and if you have visited other URLs more often then those will replace other websites.

    You can't customize this drop-down list and you would have to bookmark websites to have easier access.

  • How can I add more than five URLs to the address bar drop down list?

    How many URLs can the Awesome Bar hold in the drop down list? I was showing five, but when I tried to add a sixth by cutting and pasting the URL in the address bar and clicking "Enter", it did not show up. Can the Awesome Bar hold more than five?

    It is possible that you have an extension that sets this value to a lower setting than the current default of 12.
    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
    *Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
    *Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

  • How can I restore the search bar drop down list and current search engine icon as it was in FF version 33?

    Is there a way to restore the search bar from version 33?
    I like seeing which search engine I have selected and the ability to change it with a drop down list BEFORE I highlight text, right-click, and select ' Search Google for "xxxx" '
    Any way to roll back this latest "improvement"?

    If you miss being able to switch search engines without going
    crazy with menus, try this out;
    '''[https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/context-search/ Context Search]''' {web link}
    Expands the context menu's 'Search for' item into a list of
    installed search engines, allowing you to choose the engine
    you want to use for each search.

  • How do I delete a site from appearing in my address bar drop-down list?

    I am looking for a way to delete a website from being included in the drop-down list when I type things into my address bar.
    I've deleted history and cookies associated but to no avail.
    I'm accessing my router; I type 192... and it brings up the link to my old router, which doesn't work. Getting annoyed at having to scroll down to get the new, real link.
    Solution? Cheers.

    Thanks!

  • Infopath Drop Down List not showing all items in a list

    I have an Infopath form where I have a vendor drop down and then I filter the product list based on the vendor. The problem is the drop down list is only filtering through the first 100 records. I added a second drop down with the model#'s and no filter and there is only 100 values showing. I checked the All Items view and it is set to display all records. Does anyone know how to fix this?

    Hi all,
    If I want a drop down list in InfoPath (data coming from a SharePoint list) to be in a particular order I query the SharePoint list via this method
    http://blogs.msdn.com/infopath/archive/2007/01/15/populating-form-data-from-sharepoint-list-views.aspx
    You can create a data connection to a particular view in SharePoint - make sure that view is sorted how you want it to be and the item limit is set to 9999.
    You do not need code for this method and it works in browser enabled forms.
    The people picker (which also works in browser enabled forms) http://metahat.blogspot.com/2007/05/people-picker-control-for-infopath-2007.html can help with those of you trying to get a list of users.
    Cheers.

  • Drop down listing not showing

    On my new MacBook Air, in a online CRM software NetSuite, the drop down does not show all of the items.  The drop down is trunckated, cutting off the last 5 or so item.  For drop downs with a shorter list of options this is not a problem.  Suggestions?

    Not an Apple application so there isn't much we can do. I would recommend restarting the computer and retesting, if the problem persists you should contact the developer for support and ensure the license you have is designed to run on the version of OS X installed on your system.

  • How do I make a drop down menu selection show up in another web page?

    What I am trying to accomplish is this.  I have a page with various drop down menu selections that I want to transfer the selection to a secured web page. What happens now is once the selection is made it goes to the secure page but then the user has to again select the choice again.  Is there way to keep the selection chosen in the linked page?

    You can set the "selected" value in the second page based on the input from the first page.
    Ignor the language referance used below for the example and simple use the concept with your desired language.
    Second Page form:
    <form id="form1" name="form1" method="post" action="">
      <select name="testing" id="testing">
        <option value="Value 1" <% if ( Passed values == Value 1 ) { %>selected="selected"<% } %>>Lable 1</option>
        <option value="Value 2" <% if ( Passed values == Value 2 ) { %>selected="selected"<% } %>>Lable 2</option>
      </select>

  • I want my address bar DROP DOWN menu to show my recently-TYPED in URLs, not random websites. HOW????

    I have searched high and low on the internet for an answer, and I've spent an hour going through each tab on my internet options folder.
    All I want is for my address bar to show my history of what URLs I have TYPED in, in order of being RECENT.
    Please, please help me. I don't know if this is an add-on, or not. I have gone to Tools, Options, Privacy and checked and unchecked just about everything. I've had it to remember my history at 99 days, and at 1 day. Nothing is working. Maybe they just don't make it that way anymore.

  • How can I increase the number of Tags displayed in Drop down list?

    When I go to Bookmarks/Tags, there are only 10 tags displayed. I have created at least 15 tags.
    Is there a way to increase the number of Tags displayed in the Drop down list?
    Thanks

    Do you mean "Recent Tags" which has an icon a blue-colored folder with a primitive looking magnifying glass over the folder?
    That folder does have a limit of 10 results. If you want to create an "All Tags" item on the Boomarks Menu, you can do that by creating your own "smart folder." The process I use is a little involved, so bear with me (also, see the screen shots).
    The query used by Recent Tags is:
    place:type=6&sort=14'''&maxResults=10'''
    So for All Tags we will drop the maximum results limit:
    place:type=6&sort=14
    ''If you prefer your tags in alphabetical order instead of having the most recently used at the top, use this instead:''
    place:type=6&sort=1
    Go ahead and select the line you want and right-click > copy it.
    Next, click the bookmarks drop-down button, expand the Bookmarks Toolbar, right-click any existing item, and choose New Bookmark.
    In Location, paste the query, and in name, type All Tags (or your preferred description). When you click Add Bookmark, Firefox will add it, but it doesn't show the blue search folder icon. Drag the bookmark to the menu, and it will turn into a functioning search folder.
    Success?

  • How to create drop-down list in Portal??

    My case: I have three locations A B C(in the database) for example.
    I would like to use drop-down list to show list of All, A, B, and C.
    After I choose any of them, for example A, it must show all the data of that particular location and if it is All it must show data of all three locations.
    By using Simple Parameter, it's just a static one but I prefer the dynamic one that get directly from the database. And I also got a problem of showing all locations by choosing All in my dropdown menu
    Any idea??!?
    Thank you so much.

    You could try a dynamic page:<br>
    <br>
    &LT;html&GT;<br>
    &LT;body&GT;<br>
    <br>
    &LT;form action="http://host.port/pls/portal/etc." method="get"&GT;<br>
    &LT;select name="location"&GT;<br>
    &LT;ORACLE&GT;<br>
    for rec in (select loc_code, loc_name from locations union select '-1' id, 'All' loc_name from dual)<br>
    loop<br>
    htp.p('&LT;option value="' || rec.loc_code || '"&GT;' || rec.loc_name || '&LT;/option&GT;');<br>
    end loop;<br>
    &LT;ORACLE&GT;<br>
    &LT;/select&GT;<br>
    &LT;/form&GT;<br>
    <br>
    &LT;/body&GT;<br>
    &LT;/html&GT;<br>
    <br>
    The form should then call your page with a &location=loc_code in the url. Using a page parameter and a bound variable you can access that. You may need to use a decode in your sql to deal with the All scenario:<br>
    <br>
    select ..... where loc_code like decode(:location, -1, loc_code, :location)<br>
    <br>
    Hope this helps.<br>

  • Adapter Engine NOT in the drop-down list - RFC adapter, Communication Chan

    Hello XI Experts,
    I recently installed IDES (ERP2005) along with XI (NW2004s). I carried out the post installation steps for XI. I set up XI (technical systems, business systems, etc).
    I have started to create an RFC to File XI interface. I have carried out the necessary steps in the Integration Repository and am now setting up the scenario, etc in the Integration Directory.
    I have reached the stage of creating the communication channel of type RFC for the sender system. However, when I do this, the adapter engine is empty i.e. there are no possible entries in the drop-down list. I was expecting to see "Integration Server" as a possible entry.
    Could someone advise me on what I may have missed which leads to this problem?
    Thanks and regards,
    Nicholas.

    Hi,
    You have to get the SWCV from SAP market place.
    Support Packages and Patches -> SAP NetWeaver -> SAP NETWEAVER -> SAP NETWEAVER 2004S -> Entry by Component -> Content PI/XI
    XI CONTENT SAP_BASIS 7.00 / 6.40
    You have to upload the file in the Integration repository
    Best regards
    Omar

  • Exactly what does the Data Drop-down List do?

    What does the Data Drop-down List do? Is it used to make a drop-down list from certain records in a column in a table of a data base?

    Yes, this is exactly what it does. However, it's a custom control, not a built-in control. JavaScript is used to set it up. In order to use it you have to have a data connection in the document and modify the "Initialize" script, which is were the list is populated from the DB. The "Initialize" code is a good example of how to use XFA JavaScript to access a DB. However, the code is also written in a very general manor and takes the long way around to hooking up to the DB. Much shorter code can be written for a specific DB.
