How do I go back to Lightroom 4.4 after using LR 5 for a month?

I am in the process of downloading the LR5.2 Release Candidate to see if it will work at least a little better. Besides being very slow, my system is crashing regularly when LR5 is being used. It doesn't crash when LR5 is not running.
But, I'm seriously considering going back to LR 4.4 for a while. It is still loaded, but it will not open a catalog made with LR 5.
My LR4.4 last files were made a month or so ago, so if I went back to the last one, it'd be missing all the files I added since switching over to 5.
What is the easiest way for me to be able to open the new catalog in the old version?
Or, do I open the last working 4.4 catalog and tell it to sync itself. That'd be adding about 4000 files, but I am not sure it'd know to find any new folders I might have created. FWIW, my main catalog has around 190,000 images right now.
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, with 12 gigs of ram.
Thanks,
M. Jackson

You can't read Lr5 catalogs with Lr4, so do this instead:
Save (xmp) metadata in Lr5, then quit.
Reload previous (Lr4) catalog in Lr4.
Import new photos in Lr4 (those in Lr5 catalog that weren't/aren't in Lr4 catalog yet), and read (xmp) metadata for older photos edited in Lr5.
You'll lose edits that aren't compatible, and other changes made to Lr5 catalog but not in Lr4 catalog will be lost, but that's the best you can do (short of using plugins and/or SQL to recover more stuff, I mean).

Stateful session beans are not persisted across restart of the EJB server instance(s) hosting them. You can't treat a Session bean as one would an entity bean.

My classic video ipod won't switch back to regular video mode after using it on an elliptical. The port still allows me to charge and works on the elliptical and treadmill but it will no longer change modes to allow me to watch my shows on the ipod screen

From the iPod's Main Menu choose Videos -> Settings and make sure TV Out is set to Off.
Otherwise, try a hard reset as well.  To do this, press and hold both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

  • How many ghz should I get if I plan on using my IPAD2 for internet access, email, facebook and games for my children?

How many ghz should I get if I plan on using my IPad2 for internet access, email, facebook and games for my daughters children?

Ghz is the CPU speed and that is fixed for each iPad model.
The GB is the number of Gigabytes of storage.
I had a 32G iPad1 and filled it up with 5000 songs, 20,000 photos and about 50 apps.  It doesn't sound like you will need anything larger than that.  If you are just talking about a few dozen apps and email, the 16G version should be adequate.

  • How do I do back to previous system folder after archive and install?

Did an archive and install (retaining my existing user account), only to discover it was unnecessary. (Turns out the problem was hardware-related.)
How do I go back to using my previous system folder?

    FloydianSlip wrote:
Huh. Hardly seems to be worth "archiving" if you can't go back to the archive.
The purpose of an *Archive & Install* is to install a fresh, known-good copy of the OS, while preserving in the archive all the files from the previous copy of the installed OS that you might potentially need for some reason. (This is why it is called an Archive & Install.)
However, since any of these archived files might have been damaged in some way since they were installed or created, or in some way conflict with a freshly installed OS, they cannot be considered "known-good" without further testing & should not be reintroduced haphazardly into the "live" system.
The value of this install method should be obvious if you consider that if the OS is sufficiently damaged it will not run the computer, either at all or well enough to recover from whatever damage is done. Without this option, you would have to erase the existing startup disk completely (with the *Erase & Install* method), losing everything created or installed besides what is contained in the OS installer.
The closest equivalents to the kind of archive that you can "go back to" are cloning the entire drive or using the 'restore from Time Machine' option from the installer DVD's Utilities menu, assuming you use Time Machine.

  • I accidentally removed my iPhone from manage devices in my iTunes account.  How do I get back on as a device to use my account?

I accidentally removed my iPhone from manage devices in my iTunes account.  How do I get my iPhone 5s back on as a device to use my account?

    Hi jakefrombishop,
If you changed that old ID to your current ID using Manage your Apple ID, try the following to see if it will accept your current password:
    1.     Go to Manage your Apple ID and sign on with your current Apple ID and password. EDIT the ID and change it to the old email address. This is temporary. Do NOT verify it, do NOT change the password: Apple - My Apple ID
    2.     Now on the iPhone, where it is asking for your password to turn off Find My iPhone, type in your current password
    3.     Go back to Manage your Apple ID and sign on with the old email address and your current password. EDIT the Apple ID back to your current email address. You may need to verify it again.
    Fingers crossed!

  • How to put aps back on my iphone 5 after latest 7.0 update?

I did the latest update of the IOS from apple and a few of my apps, (i.e. Pandora and Facebook) do not work.  Any suggestions?

In the subject you ask how to put them back on the phone. That is done with the sync process in iTunes. Then you ask in the thread, how to make them work? Not sure about that, since you do not say what they are or are not doing.

  • How to get a list of Local Users who has not logged in for 3 months or around 90 days

    hi
i found this thread to pull out a list of local users
Retrieve all local user accounts information on remote computers (PowerShell)
however, i need to filter out users who has not logged in for 3 months or around 90 days, how can i do further filtering?
i understand dsquery has an -inactive <xweeks> , however i am doing it for local accounts

    $ErrorActionPreference = "silentlycontinue"
    $([ADSI]"WinNT://$env:COMPUTERNAME").Children | where {$_.SchemaClassName -eq 'user' -and $_.lastLogin -gt (Get-Date).AddDays(-90)} | ft name,lastlogin
using the sample from the link extendend with the 90 days criteria, the erroraction preference surpresses the errors you get for accounts with no lastlogon value (guest being a typical one)

  • Whole Computer crashed , How do I get back my Lightroom info???

My G4 crashed and I retrieved the all the data on the disc. Then I had to erase and install os 10 again. I backed up every thing on the hard drive to an external hard drive. I installed Lightroom again and updated to the latest version. Now I have no Idea how to get back to where I was. I spent months organizing in Lightroom and have many collections I would like to access again. Do I have to import the pictures again. Where do I start???? I do not understand the Iscrat files?
    thanks!

Find your .lrcat file; this is your catalog file where Lightroom keeps track of all your images, folders, collections etc. (You may find multiple .lrcat files: if you had Lightroom do catalog backups then you will see the backed-up catalogs as well; they will also be .lrcat files).
Start Lightroom and open the catalog that you have found. After you open the catalog, you may find many folders coloured Red, indicating that Lightroom no longer knows where the folders are. However, this will not be the case if you have restored all your pictures to their original folder structure that existed before the crash.
So, find your catalog (.lrcat) file, open it and post back here if you have further issues. I am not using a Mac, but I am sure there are other here who will help you with specific Mac issues.
