How do I install Paper Profiles (.icc)?

I am trying to install a paper profile I downloaded from Hahnemuhler .(PhotoRag) ...
.icc profile selected that matches the printer and paper
I copied the .icc profile to what I think is the right place: C:\windows\System32\spool\drivers\color
I right clicked the profile for PhotoRag
I clicked Install
I restarted LightRoom and Photoshop ...
I looked under all paper profile options (incl. Other) ...
NO PHOTORAG ...
What do you think I left out or missed?
PC
Windows 7
Photoshop, Lightroom (latest versions)
Much appreciated ... Chuck

you can see the icc profiles when you convert your color settings from RGB to CMYK.
Therefore, you can try in Photoshop menu;
Edit - Convert to Profile and then you can select the profile which you've loaded to your Computer.
Hope that works.

  • Installing paper profiles in CS5

I am trying to install Hahnemühle paper profiles to print on my Epson R2880, but can not get them to show up in the Printer Profile drop down in the Print window.  I have gone to the paper web sites and picked the paper profile I need.  Then download to my new iMac and they don't show up in Color Sync or in CS5.
I had no problems in my old iMac in having them show up as a selection option after I closed Photoshop and reopened it, but can not get my new iMac to do the same.
    Please help!!--Steve

Check that the profiles are installed in the correct location as shown in the Choose Profiles dialog box which opens from LR. On 32 bit OS this is windows/system32/spool/drivers/color...this may be different on 64 bit OS. LR will only recognise RGB profiles so if you have CYMK profile these will not show up.Also check the box Include Display Profiles as sometimes paper profiles show up as display profiles for some reason.

  • How do you install printer profiles in Lion?

After Installing Lion , I cannot figure out how to install new printer profiles.  Any help greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Both Epson and HP have been playing a game of Hide-and-Seek for the last year or two. Instead of putting the profiles they install into one of the common Profiles folders, they are in the /Library/Printers/ folder. For Epson, drill down to /Library/Printers/Epson/InkjetPrinter2/ICCProfiles. At least, this is where the installer for the Stylus Pro 4900 puts them.
It was much harder to find those installed for the Stylus Pro 4000. They are still in this general area, but were hidden inside one of the .plugin packages a bit deeper into the folder structure.
Either way, the Epson print drivers know where these profiles are and show up in the print dialogue boxes. Trouble is, other apps, such as Adobe, Quark, can't see them, so you can't choose any of the profiles from those program's print option boxes.
The only solution is to locate the profiles in the /Library/Printers/ folder and move all profiles to either the /Library/ColorSync/Profiles/ folder, or the Profiles folder in your user account. You want to move instead of copy so each profile isn't showing up twice in the Epson print dialogue box.

  • How to load Epson paper profiles in Acrobat for Mac?

    Hi,
I'm currently testing different Epson papers to find the best type of my needs (Architectura drawings). I have downloaded the profiles from Epsons website (ICC Profiles) but when I open the print dialogue in Acrobat 8 for Mac, the profiles are not there, although there is some Epson profiles.
The link shows the settings and profiles (I can't seem to upload an image). The profiles are in 'coloursync' but Adobe doesn't see it.
    I'm on Mac OS X 10.6.3
    Thank You
    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1055166/printer.jpg

I found it. I went into the Print dialog and under 'Color matching' I chose 'Colorsync' (instead of Epson colorcontrols) which brings up a list of all the epson profiles that I have made or have downloaded.
    Works Great!
    Thanks

  • HT1595 How to install a profile if i dont have a mac?

    Hi
I hope this is a simple question.... My home wifi has a setup where on my various iphones, ipads, and windows laptops i need to manually login each time i use it.  My apple tv sees my home network, but cannot connect - says i need to install a profile. However i can only find info about how to do that which assumes i have a Mac computer. To use the configurator App.
How can I install a profile for my wifi using either an ipad/iphone or a windows laptop?
    Thank you!

    Hi Winston,
The page you've referred to captures my problem exactly - I can only find documentation about installing a profile that requires the use of the Mac App Configurator.  As a mac app, as far as I am aware, it will only work on a mac computer - not on ipads, iphones or windows pc's.
Anyone who has any kind of further info about how to work around this, please let me know!  I've read some information about getting a "wifi bridge" to lower the security on the wifi signal, or else, achieving something similar by turning my laptop into a wifi hotspot.  But my internet router is a very basic one that was provided by my internet service as the supported device, and does not have an ethernet port.  So I believe that without the ethernet port, both of those options aren't possible with my current setup.
    Thanks!

  • Installing paper .icc profiles

I'm new to Mac, and I knew how to do with in Windows, but ... I want to install new icc paper profiles from Ilford for an Epson printer. I downloaded the profile and it sits on my desktop, but I don't know to install it. Unzipping puts it on the desktop but doesn't auto install; double-clicking just opens the profile but doesn't install. The Ilford "read me" file says "+Save the profile into the following location: OSX 10.5 (Leopard): Library/ColorSync/Profile"+ but I don't know what "save...into" means. Thanks for any guidance,
    Brian

    I don't know what "save...into" means.
I think you just manually drag and drop your profile file into that location. Open up your drive icon and navigate to Library/ColorSync/Profiles and you should see a number of them already there.

  • How do I install custom printer profiles in Mac os mountain lion. I can.t fine the icc profiles directory (if that's what it is).

How do I install custom printer profiles in Mac os mountain lion. I can't find the icc profiles directory (if that's what it is).

NOTE: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and press the Return key - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder. You'll need to do it again after each system update that's applied.

  • How do I install icc profiles? I keep getting message that folder can't be modified.

How do I install ICC profiles on Lion? I keep getting an error message that the folder can't be modified. Any help is greatly appreciated.

If the profiles need to be accessed by all user accounts on that Mac, follow Martin's instructions for getting the main Library folder to appear. In order to place items into the folder, you need the admin name and password before the OS will allow you to add (or remove) any items. It's either that, or you have to copy the same profiles into every individual user account.
If the only user of the Mac is you, then the Profiles folder in your user account will work just as well.

  • How can I restore ICC paper profiles?

I have added a few ICC paper profiles to my Colorsync Profiles folder (Mac OS X) Since then Lightroom shows an empty profiles list. What went wrong? What shoul I do?
I have restore Lightroom. The profiles seem to be in the right folder (user/LibraryColorsync/profiles) but it looks like Lightroom cannot see them.
Is there something else to check somewhere?

The profiles I am talking about are those downloaded from paper manufacturers, specific to my printer (sp 3800) and to each paper, which I used to store in the Hardisk/ Library/ Colorsync/profiles folder.
What happened is quite strange. I download new profiles from Hartman because I wanted to try a new printing paper. I stored that profile and then I clicked on the "others" button in the paper selection window in the printing module of Lightrom 1,4. all the profiles I used previously had disappeared the window was empty. However when accessing the above mentionned folder they do show up. Why can't Lightroom 1.4 see them?
Since yesterday I have down loaded a trial version of Lightroom 2.5 and in that version it works ie the profiles do show up
    Any explanation?
    Thanks

  • How to change file names for .icc profiles in CS4?

I recently downloaded several photo paper profiles to my Mac (OS 10.5.8) and installed them in the Library > ColorSync > Profiles folder. I edited the rather cryptic file names slightly so I could better determine which paper each profile was for.
But when I check the drop-down list of profiles available in the Print dialogue for CS4, the file names are still the original ones that were initially downloaded. I rebooted my OS and relaunched PS, but no change.
Are these .icc files being kept somewhere else on my System HD by PS? Is this not a good thing to even try doing, or can I just change the .icc  file names in the location that PS is accessing them? Thanks.

Thanks Chris and c. Under Description I'm presented with three Names for the profile: ASCII, UniCode and Mac Script. ASCII and Mac Script are the same name for the profile, with nothing being in the UniCode Name box. Which do I change -- both?
Am I going to screw things up in Photoshop if I change these names to something I can comprehend? Looks like I may just have to make a sticky-note list of the cryptic profile names with my own descriptive name as a reference. Thanks.

  • Where are the printer profiles in Mt. Lion 10.8.5? I want to install paper manufacturer's profiles.

I want to install paper manufacturer's profiles. All of my existing profiles were carried over when I upgraded to 10.8 but i do not find anything like the previous Color Sync folder. Where do I put the new profiles? And why can't Spotlight find the existing ones? BTW, I can't find them on my iMac running 10.7.5 either.

    Where are the rest?
Depends. For Epson printers, they're in the /Library/Printers/EPSON/ folder, and that itself varies. For the Stylus Pro 4900, they're in that folder, and then another couple of subfolders deep in InjetPrinter2/ICCProfiles. Sometimes they're tucked away in a .plugin or .framework file within the EPSON folder, or one of its subfolders. In short, they're not always easy to find. At least not with Spotlight.
To make your search way easier, download the free EasyFind. Turn on the check boxes to look within Package contents, and Invisible Files & Folders. There's nothing on the drive that can hide from you. Then do a search for .icc .
But unless your objective is to remove a long list of profiles you'll never use, there's no need to find these other obscure locations OS X lists profiles from. Just put the ones you want to use in either the /Library/ColorSync/Profiles/ folder (if you want all users of that Mac to have access to the profiles), or the ~/Library/ColorSync/Profiles/ folder (the tilde means your user account). Only you will have access to the profiles if placed there.

  • I am on Lightroom 4 and using a Epson photo stylus R300 printer and cannot seem to put Hahnemuehle paper profiles on to it, anyone know how?

Anyone know how to put paper profiles onto a Epson R3000 printer via Lightroom 4?

    Installation using Mac OS:
    1. Double-click on the downloaded Zip-file. The ICC profile will be extracted in the same folder automatically.
    2. Now move the extracted ICC profile to the proper folder listed below.
Mac OS 8-9x - System Folder > Color Sync Folder
    Mac OS X - HD > User > Library > ColorSync > Profiles
Note: Please restart your graphics application (eg photoshop) if it was open during the profile installation.
