How do I link a address to an event?

I noticed that when I turned the "birthday" calendar on in Ical, it displayed all listed birthdays from my address book with a link to the address in the URL field. The link typically looks like "addressbook://C92E150E-488F-421E-B60A-C4BA3C486DFE:ABPerson".
How can I create the same URL link to an address in the URL field on another event?

Save the following as an Applescript application.

tell application "Address Book" to set the clipboard to "addressbook://" & (id of item 1 of (get selection))
Select the person in Address Book. open the Applescript application you made, this will add the URI to your clipboard. Paste into the iCal event URL field.

While in the Address Book press the Menu and than Options. Just type in RSET
(capital letters) and you'll be able to wipe out all your Desktops where the
Wireless synchronization is Not available. You can keep intact the last Desktop
where the Wireless Synchronization is Yes.

Not a Java issue, then. Your problem I'm afraid.
But how do you know they're correct? Given that one of them isn't working, I'd triple check it if I were you.

How can I link contacts (e.g.. Facebook and Exchange) in Mountain Lions Contact App

After I installed ML and setted everthing up, everthing is fine. On my iPhone and iPad as well as on the Mac the contacts are there. Alle contacts with same Name / Email are linked. But some, where name is not 100% matching are not. On iPhone and iPad i can link them manually but this linking is not synced between the devices. Well anyway, this is not a problem. Then i tried to link the respective contacts in Contact App on the Mac. There seems to be no option to do that. How can I link contacts on the Mac?

You have to be a masochist to consciously publish an email address on a site anymore. In a matter of weeks or months, you will get hit with so much spam mail, you won't want to open your inbox.
Use a form-to-email-processing script in PHP, ASP or whatever programming language your server supports. Find one that hides your email address and has good spam prevention built-in. It may take you an entire day to set-up your first contact form but it's worth it. Otherwise, use a service. See links below:

When trying to access our private camera system, that uses specific ports, I got this message: "This address is restricted - This address uses a network port which is normally used for purposes other than Web browsing. oh good - a discussion about whether to use "link" or "image" when having an image connected to a product!!!
Billy and Suda - We had fun with this one some time ago in a project collecting additional data and images for the customer's products on the market. As we were ramping up the project, we tried both ways of connecting an image to a product and there was a few drawbacks we found with using the UDF type of "General" and "Image":
1. The image was placed directly on the UDF portion on the Item Master - they were working in large TIFF (?) formats and the picture just looked horrible. The approving manager could not tell if the image should be approved for press or not. When he double-clicked on the image in the UDF portion it brought up another SAP window that wasn't quite crystal clear.
2. The image took up so much room on the UDF portion of the Item Master that the data entry personnel had to constantly scroll down to enter the other data points (color, size, branded promo, mixture, etc - there were about 12 fields). Talk about being ticked!
3. While using the "General" and "Link" it addressed those concerns BUT there was one extra enormous advantage with this General/Link method. When the image was brought up, it opened up the image automatically in a standard picture editor/manager program. If they liked what they saw, they continued foward with the approval of the image for press runs. If they did not like the image, they were able to manipulate the image at the moment and then follow through with approval (time saver for sure!).
I am sure it all boils down to what the customer requirements are, but some other clients I demoed this to wanted to switch immediately after seeing that! But definitely something to think about if you are planning on connecting an image to a product...
Oh and she really is correct, Billy - I have never heard of anyone linking a query to a "link" or "image" type...I don' t know how you would even do that as the "link" or "image" selection leads you directly into the attachment and/or storage path and location...

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use. If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, and your old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

You will need a file from ni.com called accessHW.zip
You may also need to compile your assembly into a win32 dll and then use the
Call Library Function in LV.

MAC addresses are 48 bits long. That is 65536 times the IPv4 space. IP addresses need to be globally unique while MAC addresses only need to be unique on their local LAN segment (LAN/VLAN).

How do I get my addresses back after an Archive and Install procedure?

I recently had to archive and install because something was really wrong with my desktop. Now the desktop works fine but how do I get my address book application to open with all my former data in it? The address book application opens but there is NOTHING in it except apple's card and my user card? What I am asking is how to restore all my data after an archive and install procedure. you shouldn't have done that. if you wanted to reinstall snow leopard (why btw?) you should have just reinstalled it over the existing snow leopard installation directly. installing an older OS version over the newer one ( like leopard over snow) is not recommended by apple and can lead to problems. it also does not let you preserve users. your old home directory should be located inside the Previous system folder. see this link on how to extract your data from it.

specifically, for the address book you need to copy the folder homedirectory/library/application support/address book from the archived home directory to the corresponding location on the new one.
