Have no BD-Burner - but I think I tried to Save as a DiskImage of full movie in BD-Quality

A much simpler solution would be to go into Settings > Store and turn off Automatic Downloads

Need Third Party software recommendation - duplicates management and remova
I have read several dozen discussions addressing duplicate file/song removal from itunes, and many recommend third party software. While there is a 'show exact duplicates' command in itunes at Shift:File->Show exact duplicates, in my case all it did was show all of my songs, 8,440 instead of the actual 4,220 that are in my library. I'm not sure of the purpose of this command, perhaps it works for someone but not me.
Absent the ability to add a user defined column in itunes that would have the capability to perform an Excel-like function to number each row, allowing the sorting of odd/even numbers or some such scheme, I guess users with thousands of songs who have fallen into the duplication trap are required to purchase third party software to correct this, or just go ahead an begin whatever medical procedures purport the relief of carpal tunnel syndrome.
Does anyone have recommendations of software they have actually used, paid, share or free?
Thanks.Would that I be so lucky! I reinstalled my Vista OS and was adding back all of the programs and data, so all of the music had the same 'date added'. However, I have just this moment solved my own problem. Here is what worked for me:
1. I downloaded freeware from the website LCIBrosSolutions.com which does indeed identify duplicates in the iTunes file and will erase them.
2. However, now you are stuck with broken links (i.e. "!" songs) in your iTunes, and need to eliminate them. What I did was go into the View choices, and picked something that I would never use. In my case, I picked "Episode Number" and added it as a column. Then, I went to "select all" and highlighted all 8000+ song names. Right clicking gave me "Get Info" after the warning, and then I went to the video tab and entered the number 4. I un-highlighted, sorted on the Episode Number Column, and since the song names with no real content would not accept the number 4, they were at the bottom, and were all duplicates. I deleted them.
The way to verify that you do indeed have broken links is to sort by song name, and see that every other one does have an ! by it. -
How do I burn BLU-RAY DVDS from my iMacs?
I own a video production company and we can burn dvds in compressor, but we can't figure out how to setup a menu with multiple tracks to select different options. Like a menu page. Does anyone know how to do this on a Mac or by using an optional software?
A couple times compressor has gave us errors on burning a normal mov clip to Blu Ray, so if you recomeend or know any other softwares or even if I have to purchase a PC just to burn Blu Ray DVD's, can you please help me.Does anyone know how to do this on a Mac or by using an optional software?
I do this using iDVD which is no longer available from Apple, but still available as part of iLife 09 and 11 versions from online vendors. You can either use Chapters or (my preference) simply import your videos as separate movies which will then show up as separate entities in the menu (and selectable separately).
FWIW, Macs do not support burning or playing blu-ray without additional software (and a blu-ray burner) - Roxio Toast is one that will work. -

You need an external Blu-ray player (the built-in SuperDrive does not support Blu-ray) and a Blu-ray player (such as http://www.macblurayplayer.com/promotion.htm or http://www.bluray-player-software.com/ or any, really). Then you can play Blu-ray discs on your Mac.

We don't know exactly how does lookout handle .bmp or .wmf files created in third party programs like CorelDraw, since we have a different response from lookout to those graphs. We loose the shadows effects, we don't have a transparect effect, etc.

Optimal Quicktime Export Settings For Eventual Burning to Blu-Ray DVD
Hello. We currently have a huge backlog of FCP, FCE HD and iMovie HD projects created in 720p and 1080i formats. While we all await FCP and DVD Pro support of the 1080p Blu-Ray DVD burning, in the mean time, what are the optimal Quicktime Export settings to get best possible rendering of my existing FCP, FCE HD and iMovie HD in preparation for eventual transfer to Blu-Ray DVD for best possible viewing on my large screen LCD TV via Blu-Ray DVD player. I'd like to get to work exporting all my movies into the optimal Quicktime format in preparation for 1080p Blu-Ray.
For example, I have been creating FCE projects in a 1080i 60fps format. Once completed I typically have been exporting a "Full Quality" stand-alone movie. Is that what's optimal for the 1080p Blu-Ray DVD format, or something else? For example, what about interlacing? Should I be "de-interlacing" my outputted quicktime movies for better playback in the Blu-Ray 1080p format? What other things should I be considering.Full quality sounds like you'll be safe. Keep in mind that WHEN DVDSP gets Blu-ray support, it will be able to do al the encoding itself. I do know that the next generation DVDs are using MPEG4 or VC1 compression instead of MPEG2 like standard DVDs are today. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H.264/MPEG-4_AVC http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VC-1 That being said, I don't believe that Compressor has a VC-1 encoder, but it definitely has H.264, so if you wanted to do the encode yourself, I guess you could pick that and be set. There's also MANY threads on here about this already, so Search is your friend and use it to get more info.

As soon as Bell Email opens, the corner symbol continues to turn and then closes my email web account. Usually hitting the ESC keys stops this but not always. I just upgraded to the new Firefox and am still having the same problem. This does not happen if I log onto my Bell Email account through Internet Explorer. This is unique to Firefox.
Freezes and system crashes should be virtually non-existent with a new machine (assuming it has not been polluted with bad third party software). If this were happening to me with a new machine I would return it.

I have macbook pro 13" I want to know how to copy files from my mac to the external Toshiba Hard Drive. I can't even delete files from my external hard drive. please help me my macbook HD is almost full and I have to copy my images to the Toshiba HD
To delete files from your external HDD, attach it to your MBP and drag the unwanted files to trash and then empty trash.
Then you select the files that you want to transfer by 'drag and drop' to the external HDD and trash the files on your MBP.

I just returned my new Mac book pro with retinal display after three very disappointing three weeks of trying to use certain websites and other third party programs (Quickbooks, Raintree) that would not function properly. My husband own the previous MacBook Pro version with the built in CD rom and I was able to use those above mentioned websites and problems with the no difficulties. Did I just happen to get a lemon or is this a function of the computer being too new for third party software?
Programs such as Quickbooks pro for Mac, I was able to import my previous data and I was able to enter about 5 new transactions before it stopped being able to save transactions. Other programs ( Raintree ) that I use via VM software as a windows based program I was able to access and use some features but not others. On the web browsers (both safari and Mozilla) I use a website that has an analyzer feature and it would pull up a blank screen in the place where I would enter pertinent information. They tried pulling this website at the apple store today and the same issue happened. All these programs and website I am able to access and run smoothly with no issues on my husbands MacBook Pro , which is why I returned my MacBook. I just wondered if others were experiencing similar issues with their MacBook with retinal display.

It is extremely difficult or impossible to do exact synchronization with any two independent systems. I believe that library system has too many unique process that is not covered by B1.
