How do I move my 36K [114 GB] of pictures in Photoshop 8 from my PC to my iMAC where I will be using Photoshop Elements 8

I have tried to backup the pictures several times to an external drive several times. Somehow some of the pictures are saved as XML files sd opposed to jpegs. given the numbner of images, it takes about 4 hours to complete the process. I have used a 2 TB Western Digital Drive. I think I shall have to purchase a new drive and format it as you suggested. I do not want to overwrite other data stored on that drive. Thanks for the assitance.

Purchased history is just that, a history of items that have been purchased.

How do I move a graphic-box in a document I imported from AppleWorks?

I imported a book which I wrote in AppleWorks without problems into Pages '08. On one page of this book I had created a box, using the graphics tool, and moved it to the back so I could read the text inside it. It is now in the Pages '08 version of my book, but because of editing and additional writing which I've done, it appears on page 295, not 297 where it belongs. In AppleWorks I could simply select it and drag it into place. In Pages '08 I can't figure out how to select it. It's just there.

How do I move some program files and redirect my user files from ssd C to drive E?

Brand new HP Phoenix h9-1183, Windows 7 64 bit SSD only 99.2 GB, data drive E: 2 TB.
When tried to transfer files from old HP desktop to new Phoenix, I got the message that there was not enough space. When I took a closer look, I was surprised that only 99.0GB was assigned to the OS. I have been trying to figure out how to remove some of the programs that came with the computer (i.e. DVD Maker, Windows mail, Cyberlink Power DVd, Power2go etc.) from the C drive onto the E drive where there is more space. Also if I could move my library (documents, pictures, music, vide etc.) to E drive that would give the OS drive more space for updates etc. I have been searching for the how to, but have discovered that the program files and user files which contain the library etc. should not be moved according to Microsoft and if they are they won't cover any service. Tried to contact them with my problem (and it seems this will become a bigger problem as more and more of the newer computers containing ssds are going this way with little space in the C: SSD) and I got the message to contact my computer manufacturer. Tried seeing on the HP help and support if there is a solution for this and saw nothing. So here I am with a new computer and I've spent a couple of weeks now trying to set things up and searching for a way to allow more hard drive space. I found this site ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKTNmoq2zXI&feature=fvwrel) on how to move user files from C onto new drive, but it only works for 1 folder (I moved my video folder and then when I tried to move my pictures, it got messed up and I had to do a restore. As far as I know, you can set up Aperture to access its library on an external drive; I tried to find some info for you and found this support site for it - you might want to check it out. Also, you might want to check the manual on how to move the library.

How to download movie clips to Mac OS X 10.4.11 from Nikon Coolpix S640?

Hi ~ I have photos and one short movie clip on my SD card. I downloaded all the photos into iPhoto. Since the movie clip was on the same SD card I thought that it would automatically download to "somewhere"? I did find out that it would be a AVI file, I believe. I tried to find it somewhere on my computer but could not. Where did it go?
Luckily, I did not erase it from my SD card. I am wondering how to correctly download this movie.
I have not installed the Nikon software because it overtakes my photos in iPhotos and I had a scare when I thought I lost all my photos. I uninstalled it and my photos reverted back to normal in iPhoto. Who knows, maybe I did it wrong initially. Anyways, I contacted Nikon C.S. and they said if I did not want to use the Nikon software to download with, then the movie clip would be viewable in QuickTime. I could not find it there, either. I hope you can assist.

I've got several email accounts, but my contacts are spread across them. Of course, when I access or search my contacts they do all get searched together, but I need to delete an account and this will result in me losing many contacts.
So before I do this, I want to consolidate all my contacts into my main personal email group account. But short of doing them one by one, I can't find a way and I have several thousand contacts at risk of being lost.
Can anyone advise me?

Go to your Contacts on your Mac - if more than one pick the most accurate; delete any contacts you don't want. Select all the contacts, and from the File menu choose 'Export...'>'Export vCard'. Save the resultant file safely: it will be your 'master' list.
Now delete all the contacts from whichever device has the most in it. Sync with iCloud. If necessary repeat with different Macs. The result should be that the deletions sync to iCloud and in the end you finish up with empty Contacts lists everywhere.
Now you can import your saved file to one of your Macs. Make sure you import it under 'iCloud' not 'On My Mac'. Then it should propagate iCloud and any other devices. Keep the saved file at least until you are satisfied that all is in order.

That article is about using your iPod as an external hard drive, to move files from one computer to another computer. It is not related to your question.
You can't use iTunes to move song files from iPod to computer, except for songs you purchased from the iTunes Store (and you can also re-download purchases). However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can move song files from iPod to computer. If you do a Google search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links.
Once the song files are on your current computer, add them to that computer's iTunes library by dragging the files (or folder containing the files) to the iTunes window. After confirming everything is there (and fixing the data issue you mentioned) you can sync the iPod. You may want to do a Restore on the iPod, if it might have a data corruption issue, which will erase the iPod's hard drive, re-install the latest software, and set it to defautl settings.

if you have a backup of your entire itunes library on like a cd,dvd or an external hard drive which i use you can put your entire itunes library on your new machine be finding the itunes folder on your new machine and look for a folder in the itunes folder called "automatically add to itunes" move your library into that folder and the next time your start up itunes wait a few mintues and all the content that you put in the itunes library folder will be there music, tv episodes, books, etc. now there is the icloud but it is in beta right now and you can redownload all of the music, apps, and books you have allready purchased but for right now you can not redownload movies or tv episodes
