How do I notify errors and inaccuracies in HERE ma...

HERE Maps doesn't seem to have any way of allowing useres to notify errors and inaccuracies. Parts of the Denmark road network have changed and one new junction, at least is, wrong, with cycle tracks approaching an Expressway roundabout/bridge marked as roads, making user believe they can drive where they can't and have to drive back many kilometres. This needs fixing.
Options please.
Now using a 520 for a lot of functions, I will not, however, refrain from expressing my annoyance at Symbian Belle maps being frozen on e.g. my E6 less than 2 years after I bought the phone. Nobody at Nokia care any more, but that doesn't justify a wrong decision!!

  • How to catch date errors and continue processing in a PL/SQL procedure

    I'm updating a date field with dates constructed from day, month and year fields. The incoming data has many instances of day and month that are not valid dates, ex 11 31 2007. There is no 31st day in November.
    I would like to write a pl/sql script to scan the table containing these values and log the rows that produce conversion errors.
    I thought I could do this with exceptions but there are no exceptions that correspond to the ORA-01847 error for mismatched day and month.
    Here is what I tried (the print procedure is a local wrapper for DBMS_OUTPUT.put_line):
    PROCEDURE date_check IS
    start1 DATE ;
    BEGIN
    select to_date(nvl(yearcollected,'9999') ||'/'|| nvl(monthcollected,'01') ||'/'|| nvl(daycollected,'01'),'YYYY/MM/DD'))) into start1 from incoming_data where id=1 ;
         BEGIN
              update temp_test set test_date = start1 where id=1 ;
         EXCEPTION
              WHEN OTHERS THEN
              print('Date error message from exception block');
         END;
    print('Processing continues after handling date exception') ;
    END date_check ;
    Is there a way to catch this kind of error and continue processing after logging a message?
    -=beeky

    Hi, Beeky,
    There are lots of different error messages associated with bad dates. Rather than try to catch them all, I use a BEGIN ... EXCEPTION block that contains nothing but a TO_DATE call. This is one of the rare occassions when I think "EXCEPTION WHEN OTHERS" is okay,
    The following function comes from a package. If you want to make a stand-alone function, remember to say " *CREATE OR REPLACE* FUNCTION ...".
    --          **   t o _ d t   **
    --     to_dt attempts to convert in_txt (assumed to
    --          be in the format of in_fmt_txt) to a DATE.
    --     If the conversion works, to_dt returns the DATE.
    --     If the conversion fails for any reason, to_dt returns in_err_dt.
    FUNCTION     to_dt
    (     in_txt          IN     VARCHAR2                    -- to be converted
    ,     in_fmt_txt     IN     VARCHAR2     DEFAULT     'DD-MON-YYYY'     -- optional format
    ,     in_err_dt     IN     DATE          DEFAULT     NULL
    RETURN DATE
    DETERMINISTIC
    AS
    BEGIN
         -- Try to convert in_txt to a DATE.  If it works, fine.
         RETURN     TO_DATE (in_txt, in_fmt_txt);
    EXCEPTION     -- If TO_DATE caused an error, then this is not a valid DATE: return in_err_dt
         WHEN OTHERS
         THEN
              RETURN in_err_dt;

  • How to capture mapping error and able to send it..

    Hi Friends,
    We have a requirement, where in, if a mapping fails due to missing required element or improper formation of the source xml message, we need to capture this and need to create an error message, which contains the error description as one of the elemnets and send it to the concerned system back. Basically, it is to let the sending system know that, what went wrong.
    Is there any api available which can capture the mapping error and which could be used under java mapping used for exception handling? Any pointers in this regard would be of utmost helpful.
    Regards,
    Vijay

    Vijay,
    You can throw some exceptions like mentioned in the weblog:
    /people/alessandro.guarneri/blog/2006/01/26/throwing-smart-exceptions-in-xi-graphical-mapping
    /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2007/04/26/xipi-throwing-generic-exceptions-from-any-type-of-mapping
    Once you see this message your support guys should check the message and let the sender system side know about this.

  • How to capture DB Errors and display as pop-up message

    Hi All,
    I am using Jdeveloper 11g Release 2 (11.1.2.3.0).
    In my AppModuleImpl.java, I defined a class to call PL/SQL procedure and exposed the same as Client interface. Pulled this method from data control on to a page a Button. The functionality is working fine.
    Can you suggest me, what is best way to achieve the below functionality.
    1. If there is any DB errors during PL/SQL procedure, how to catch and display the Errors / Warning in Pop-up message.
    2. How to display info message on successful completion in Pop-up.
    regards

    Hi,
    +1. If there is any DB errors during PL/SQL procedure, how to catch and display the Errors / Warning in Pop-up message.+
    Throw a custom exception that extends the JboException class.
    See:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/issue-archive/2013/13-mar/o23adf-1897193.html
    http://jobinesh.blogspot.de/2011/03/customizing-business-components-error.html
    +2. How to display info message on successful completion in Pop-up.+
    Option 1.
    you can either return "true" or "false" from the method so that you can call
    OperationBinding plsqlOperationBinding = .... get access to themethod binding to invoke the PLSQL method call ....
    String result = plsqlOperationBinding.execute();
    if(result.equlasIgnoreCase("true"){
    RichPopup popup = ... get reference to popup defined on the page
    RichPopup.PopupHints hints = new RichPopup.PopupHints ();
    popup.show(hints);
    Option 2
    OperationBinding plsqlOperationBinding = .... get access to themethod binding to invoke the PLSQL method call ....
    plsqlOperationBinding.execute();
    if(plsqlOperationBinding.getErrors().size == 0){
    RichPopup popup = ... get reference to popup defined on the page
    RichPopup.PopupHints hints = new RichPopup.PopupHints ();
    popup.show(hints);

  • How to raise application error and preserve open cursor...

    Hello,
    I have to raise an application error under certain circumstances.
    In some cases there's an open cursor that has to be read by the calling application anyway because there are data that have to be read.
    In other cases the cursor does not have to be read.
    sample code:
    create or replace procedure get_address(
    pv_street varchar2,
    pv_number varchar2,
    pr_retid in out number,
    pr_refcurs in out get_streetpkg.t_refcurs )
    v_rowcount number;
    v_no_suiting_number boolean := false;
    begin
    delete temp_addr;
    -- get suiting rows
    insert into temp_addr
    select * from addr
    where street like pv_street
    and number like pv_number;
    v_rowcount := sql%rowcount;
    -- if no suiting row found then get all
    -- suiting streets regardless of number
    if v_rowcount = 0 then
    v_no_suiting_number := true;
    insert into temp_addr
    select * from addr
    where street like pv_street;
    end if;
    -- check whether data has been found
    select count(*)
    into v_rowcount
    from temp_addr;
    -- set return id if only one row is found.
    if v_rowcount = 1 then
    select id from temp_addr
    into pr_retid;
    end if;
    -- open cursor to provide data
    open pr_refcurs for
    select * from temp_addr;
    -- generate error - if no data found at all
    -- no data has to be read...
    if v_rowcount = 0 then
    raise_application_error( -20001, 'no data found' );
    end if;
    -- generate error - or better notification - message if no number found...
    -- SELECTED ROWS HAVE TO BE READ ANYWAY!!!
    if v_no_suiting_number then
    raise_application_error( -20002, 'streets found, but no suiting number' );
    end if;
    return;
    end;
    Prerequisites:
    - The calling application reads the open cursor and closes it.
    - The application cannot provide additional arguments and the stored proc cannot be converted into a stored func.
    - I cannot put the procedure into a package.
    - The application has to get information about success or failure (and reason of failure) through provided error numbers (-20999..-20000).
    Whenever the error is raised and pr_retid was set, retid is not set in the application, neither is the cursor.
    So what can I do to provide return ID and row data???
    Hope anyone can help me.
    Greetings, Heiko Kaschube

    Sorry, I didn't read your list of pre-requisites carefully enough. Your problem is that prerequiste #4 (return Application Error number) is in flat contradiction with prerequisite #1 (calling application continues processing).
    To restate: RAISE_APPLICATION_ERROR means "the called program has encountered a problem so please cease processing and handle the error". Using RAISE_APPLICATION_ERROR prevents the calling program doing any more processing: control goes to the EXCEPTION handler. Therefore RAISE_APPLICATION_ERROR should only be used for abnormal processing conditions.
    I fail to see why you want to use RAISE_APPLICATION_ERROR to handle a situation which is quite obviously not an application error: your called program has found some data that you want to process.

  • Regarding Workflow Error and Notification problem

    Hi,
       I am working on Workflow. I imported data <b>first time</b> in Data Manager and created <b>new</b> workflow. Now while "Launching" this workflow it is showing error "<b>The record is currently used in workflow</b>".
    I was using this repository for other data with different workflow but i deleted all previous data and workflow. Why it is showing this error? When i have new set of data with new workflow than i think i should not show this error.
    Other Question is regarding <b>Notification</b>:
    To notify the person we have to make following changes :
    1) Have to use Notify stencil and have to give e mail ids in User detail
    2) In my server ini file i have to give my mail server name.
    After making this changes I am not getting any mails. Please guide me for the same.
    Please guide me how to rectify this error and what are the prerequisites?
    Thanks in advance,
    Ronak

    Hi Ronak,
    Couple of issues with emailing:
    1.  You need to restart your repository after updating .ini file to effect the changes.
    2.  Your SMTP server should relay mails without SMTP authentication.
    3.  You can also send emails to outside domains such as yahoo or others if your SMTP server permits.
    Check with your mail server administrator and perform a simple SMTP telnet test to make sure your SMTP server is not an issue.
    Hope this helps
    Venkat

  • How to handle transport errors????

    Hi Gurus.
    How to handle transport errors and create a workflow email to the owner of the transport from solution manager??

    Solution manager does provide automatic e-mail notification when status changes or error occures.To answer your question when ever transport fails ..you can configure such way that a support message can create automatically and notify support team / respective person.
    If you are not using any t-code do you have any thoughts where you can create transport request???? and are you using solution manager only for maintanence project or for implimentation project also????
    Hope this helps you....

    When trying to open iphoto I get the error message "You can't open the application iPhoto because it may be damaged or incomplete." How do I fix this and get my photo's back?

    To re-install iPhoto
    1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
    2a: On 10.5:  Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
    2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows:  In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
    /var/db/receipts/
    2c: on 10.7 they're at
    /private/var/db/receipts
    A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
    3. Re-install.
    If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
    If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
    If you purchased it on the App Store you can find it in your Purchases List.
