How do I open an account for YouTube on Apple TV or isn't it necessary purely for viewing?

How do I open a YouTube account on Apple TV ? or is this not necessary if you are only viewing-in which case perhaps this confusing log in request can be removed at the next software update because it is a nonsense....

Having an account is not required to view Youtube on ATV. The log in is necessary for those who do have one and gives access directly to your uploaded videos, favorites, subscriptions etc.

I signed up for my apple account while living in Canada, and now I lives in the US. I am looking for a specific app that apparently is only available through the US app store. How can I change my account to the US Apple Store?

As long as you have a form of payment (credit or debit card) with a USA source, and with a billing address in the USA, then you just need to change your payment information on your account to that, change your country in the store settings, and you will then be able to shop in the USA store.
Your AppleID will work in any country's store, as long as your payment source and billing addres are also specific to that country (and you are in that country as well, as there may be IP filters in place to stop use outside of the country).

What is the GarageBand version that your friend is using?
If it is GarageBand '11, version 6.0.5, you can buy GarageBand '11 as a boxed retail version with the iLIfe '11 bundle, e.g. from Amazon.
Then you can upgrade GarageBand '11 to 6.0.5, using this upgrader from the Support page:
                     GarageBand 6.0.5
GarageBand 6.0.5 will work well with your system.  But if your friend is using the newest GarageBand 10, this will not help. Then ask your friend to send you audio files for each track, so you can recreate the project from the audio.  Or your friend could also use GarageBand '11 for the projects you want to share, that will run well in all newer MacOS X versions, even with GarageBand 10.0 installed on the same system.

  • How to create a US account with the same apple ID as my current account

I received a US itunes card given as a gift and it will not redeem in the itunes store since it says I need to have a US itunes account which I do not. Mine is from another country.
I emailed support and they said I could not use the itunes card nor can I transfer the credit to my itunes account for my country(even if it is still in US$). Though they did say that It was possible to create a US account with the same apple ID. I tried it but when I try to register a US account, in the end it says that the apple ID is taken.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks.

You can't use the same ID because it is possible to change countries on accounts.  The other person using your ID is you!  However, technically you can only use the store in a country if you are actually present in the country, and you have to have a credit card billed to an address in the country as proof.
I guess the person at Apple isn't familiar with hte details of thir own legal documents, and you would either have to try to change country on your account (which may run into issues) or start a second account in hte other country (which again may not be easy, nor legal).
The iTunes Store in a country is intended only for use by that country's residents, and only while they are in the country. To use the iTunes Store in a country you need a credit card (or other card type if acceptable in a country) issued in that country, billed to an address in that country, and also be physically present in that country when using the store.  You are also restricted to waiting 90 days between country changes.
E.g., "The iTunes Service is available to you only in the United States, its territories, and possessions. You agree not to use or attempt to use the iTunes Service from outside these locations. Apple may use technologies to verify your compliance." - http://www.apple.com/legal/itunes/us/terms.html#SERVICE

  • HT5621 I changed my apple ID on my laptop and I can no longer sync calendars from my iphone4s to the Macbook.  I went to settings and when I open iCloud account settings, my old apple id is grayed out and I can't tap it to change it.  Any suggestions??

I changed my apple ID on my Macbook  but I am unable to sync calendar from my iphone 4s.  When I go to settings in the phone, my old ID is there, but it is greyed out and I can't change it. I was able to change the app store ID, but the one in iCloud settings seems stuck.  Any suggestions??

You need to use the old ID and password to delete the iCloud account. After you delete the old account, you can sign in with the new ID in iCloud.
    Have you seen this.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5796
    iCloud
iOS 6 and later: Go to Settings > iCloud.
If you signed out before changing your Apple ID, enter your current Apple ID to sign in. The data from your iCloud account will download to your device.
If you're still signed in with your previous Apple ID:
Scroll down and tap Delete Account. Depending on what iCloud options are turned on, you'll be asked to confirm that you want to delete data from your device. To confirm, tap Delete. (If you're using iOS 7 and have Find My iPhone turned on, you'll be asked to enter the password for your previous Apple ID. Enter the password, then tap Turn Off.) The data will be deleted from your device, but not from iCloud.
Enter your current Apple ID to sign in. The data from your iCloud account will download again to your device.

  • The roundcube login displays when I open T.bird How do I open an account?

When I open TB the only option is to create an email account. If I select this option a Roundcube log in screen appears. Do I need a Roundcube account and if so how do I get it
    Thanks,
    Julian

You do not need a roundcube account to use Thunderbird.
However, I think it's fair to say that most people who install a mail client such as Thunderbird do so because they want an alternative to the web-based access offered by their email provider.
A mail client, such as Thunderbird, is a tool for working with email. Unlike Yahoo, Googlemail, outlook'''.'''com, roundcube and probably your ISP, it doesn't actually provide an email service; there are no accounts or servers being offered to you here. Thunderbird does offer to take you to selected 3rd-party providers, who generally require a fee to be paid to set up an email account. For most of us, there is no real advantage in following this route, as the free providers (yahoo, google, outlook, gmx etc) are sufficient for most users' needs.
If you already have an email account, you can add it to Thunderbird; look for "existing mail account" in the account set-up dialogue. If you don't already have an email account, then you need an email account provider, and Thunderbird may not be what you're looking for.
Many of us who use a mail client such as Thunderbird do so because we work with multiple email accounts offered by a variety of email providers, and an email client offers a place to work with multiple email accounts ("addresses") all in one place, rather than logging into multiple websites.

  • Multiple Accounts for Youtube App: Apple TV

With the new Youtube update for Apple TV, can I use more than one Youtube/Google account. Will I also always have to resign in to the app?

    Not at the same time
Will I also always have to resign in to the app?
If you mean to use another account - Yes.

  • How to have one iCloud account linked to multiple apple ids

I am sorry if this has been asked before but my head is spinning at reading everything about iCloud and I haven't really found 1 discussion with my particular situation.
    This is what we have:
    iPhone - wife
    iPad - wife
    itouch x 3 - husband and kids
We have 4 family members and 3 different Apple ID's (husband and wife -1 ID, Kids each have their own)  All items are purchased on 1 mac but under different Apple ID's (the kids get their own iTunes cards for spending, that's why we kept seperate accounts). We all have access to each other's songs and app purchases (as we know each other's passwords) and have been freely able to add to each others devices.
So my question is: How do we all utilize ONE iCloud (say using my Apple ID as the main account ID) and then have the other 2 Apple ID's tied to the ONE iCloud account?  That way the kids can still purchase using their own $, same here for me, but then we all share the Songs/Apps as we did before.
I hope I'm making sense......essentially I think I'm trying to ask..... how do we continue to share apps and songs with iCloud while maintaining different Apple ID's...LOL
    Thanks

The bottom line is that you can't.  Apple IDs can't be merged, or shared, in any way at present.  There is a rumor that Apple is working on something, but it's not anything that you should rely on.  Purchases are tied to a single Apple ID and they can't be transferred to another Apple ID either.
I should note that you don't need to share passwords.  By simply creating separate iTunes libraries for each person, and authorizing the computer(s) for each account, you should all be able to use each others purchases and only be able to make purchases from your own account.

  • How to convert my aol account to an existing apple id account?

Since Apple has informed me that I need to switch my AOL account sign in to the iTunes store to a Apple Id, I am in need of converting it to an existing Apple Id, but the process does not have an option to convert to an existing Apple Id.
Checking with the community to see if anyone else has had to do this and how it can be done.
    Thanks,
    jhornert

This actually appears to be a legit Apple emailing.  I have family members who have received the same and have been researching it for them.
I believe this goes waaaay way back to earlier days of the iTunes rollout when, if memory serves, an authentic AOL Username could be used as an Apple ID.  Since then, it has become common (required?) that an Apple ID is an authentic "email address". The difference between a Username and an email address being the "@aol.com" designator.
It appears that Apple (and AOL) are requiring anyone that has or had an iTunes account using an AOL "Username only" Apple ID (without the @aol.com email designator) to update their Apple ID.  I believe it to be as simple as designating an authentic "email address" as your new Apple ID.
If you already use an email address as your Apple ID, i.e. [email protected], then I believe there is nothing further you need to do.
If I am incorrect here, I'm sure someone will speak up and let us know.
    I hope this is helpful.

  • How do you open the clone panel in Photoshop Elements 12, it isn't shown in the windows list

I am trying to access the clone panel in Photoshop Elements 12. The tutorials I have seen show a drop down list from the windows button, however on my drop down list there is no clone panel.
I guess my question is does PE12 have a clone panel and if so how do I access it?

I've never heard of a "clone panel" but the clone stamp is in the Enhance section on the right side, below the Healing Brush. If you see the pattern stamp there instead, just click the clone stamp in the tool options at the bottom of the window.

I have had several applications I can no longer open as Apple doesn't support them anymore.  Word Docs, in particular.  the PowerPC thingy isn't working.  Now what?

Is that because you have upgraded to Lion?
