How do I overlay JOGL on JMF ?

The application displays a stream of live video from a remote source. I modified AVReceive2.java for that. I need to overlay a JOGL panel on the video. That requires the JMF panel to use lightweight components. I did some searching and found this: http://java.sun.com/products/java-media/jmf/2.1.1/solutions/SwingJMF.html
But when I use Manager.setHint(Manager.LIGHTWEIGHT_RENDERER, new Boolean(true)); the video display does not show up. I was wondering if anyone knows whats going on or how to get around this problem?

When you have created the mobile project what does app.xml show? for example if you have 3.5 overlaid you should be able to see something like this in app.xml

For overlaying AIR 3.5 SDK on Flex SDK 4.6 locally following the instructions mentioned in the below url and then create a Flex Mobile project using that SDK.

How do I Overlay a Logo on top of a SWF, inside an HGroup ?

Hi Folks,
I use an HGroup to within it, horizontally and vertically center a SWF.
Now, I would like to position a Logo at the HGroup's x,y=0,0 position.
While the logo need to be positioned in the top left corner, the [re]size and [re]position of SWF is not to be affected by the Logo. In effect, the logo is to have not effect on any of the layouts of whatever it visually overlays.
How do I do this?

My brain got fried with all of the previous SWFLoader positioning and centering - so much that I had to stop and clear my head and then this became an easy case of putting the HGroup and the Logo inside a BorderContainer. I had inadvertently placed the Logo inside of HBox.

How to receive RTP data by JMF

Hello!!
I have a ipaq3870 installed Jeode.
I can run JMStudio to play media on PDA and receive RTP data from PC's JMStudio.
But I can't receive RTP data by AVReceive2.
I compressed AVreceive2 into custom.jar.
Can anyone teach me how to do?
Did my steps correct?

hope we could talk a little more about this because I am also trying to do some applications with the JMF and Personal Java / Jeode.
So far I haven�t worked with the JMstudio but with the AVReceive and the AVTransmit classes. My Transmit-PC is a Desktop PC running Windows XP and my Receive Handheld is Sharp Zaurus with - as I said - Personal Java / Jeode running.
Both classes run but the Transmitter only says "Transmitting ..." and the Receiver says "Waiting for data to arrive" and nothing happens.
Perhaps you know what I am doing wrong ? Can it be the Windows XP - Linux ? But the JMF ist platform independent, isn�t it ?
Do you think the JMStudio is better than the AVReceive ?
How did you manage to run jmstudio under Jeode ?
Of course he didn�t find the "java" exec because it is called evm but how can I change this ?

I am able to handle to wav format. I give LINEAR as encoding scheme along with other parameters. If I don't find proper parameters for AMR.

How do I overlay a timer counting down on a Keynote slide?

Hello!
I am searching for a way (app or otherwise) to have a timer counting down while in "full screen" mode in Keynote. I am an urban educator, and I've found it very effective in having a stunning image on the smartboard via Keynote, in order to focus engagement while the students enter my classroom. I would love to also have a timer overlayed on that slide somewhere (right hand corner likely) counting down - so students know how much time they have to socilize and become situated before class "officially" begins.

How do I overlay two scanned photos of a real painting?

I'm a professional artist so I need really good photos of my work for promo and gallery applications. My Brother gave me a really good Canon Scanner. He told me I should try and scan my paintings, laying them on the scanner one way then the other (from top bottom and then side to side). Once in the computer he said I should overlay them in photoshop (Elements 7) to minimize the glare from the brushstokes (It's oil paint). I attempted it with the help of an old discussion on the forum (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/944267). It worked but it's really blurry. I've tried playing with the opacity levels but can't seem fix it. Any suggestions would be very appreciated!

Thanks for replying. The painting was scanned at a resolution of 300 dpi both times. I assume that's ample for this purpose?
Yes, one image shows glare in one direction and the other image another direction and I'm trying to blend the non-glare elements of both images.
Using a mask to paint in the non-glare elements is likely what I'll need to do.
Here are some screenshots of the scanned oil sketch that show how far I've gotten and the problem.
Above is a detail showing what I mean about the glare from the brush strokes. In a good artist grade print you wouldn't see so much of the glare.
I've got a backround and a layer - one is the 'top to bottom scan' and one is the 'side to side scan'.
When I put the one layer over the other it's a blurry mess. The only thing I can think of is that one scan is ever so slightly tilted causing it to distort.
Let me know what you think. If it helps, the scanner is the 'Canon Canoscan 9000F Mark II'.
Sorry if I'm a bit of a newcomer at this. I've had Photoshop Elements 7 for a while now but have only been using it for common purposes and I'd really like to learn how to take advantage of all the features and tricks it can do.

How to suppress EndOfMedia-Events in JMF?

Hi, I tried the Java Media Framework .
So i created a small mp3-player (MediaPlayer), most files works fine but some files, seems to have some strange
frames.
So my player stops playing with an EndOfMediaEvent, but when I play it in the JMF-Studio and/or Winamp it is
played as any normal file. So i tried to find the clue in the Studio-Sorcecode, but wasn't succesfull.
The Duration is correect (about 5mins), but it lawways stops after ten seconds.
Even if I set the Media-time behind this point, it stops and after 4/5 setting forward it stops completly.
So I want to tell the player that it should play until the Duration has exceed, even if there are EndOfMedia-Events
earlier.
Does any know how to play such files correctly?

I found a tip on how to create a mask in Photoshop, then overlay it onto iMovie. But the example video was so small I could not follow it.
My requirement is that I shoot video of say a computer screen, then I want to make a blurred out portion of the screen image in Photoshop, then overlay it back onto the video footage. I want to do this to blur out any private information, for example a username or password.

With iMovie, I would normally do this as a post edit in QT Pro. Simply create your "mask" and layer it over the information you wish to protect. By using the "Add to Selection & Scale" option, you can then set the proper duration automatically, as well as, set the location to "cover" the exact area needed. Would assume this might also be possible in iMovie, but would require a PNG with "Alpha" channel to be dropped on your original clip and then manually adjusting the duration and would still likely require QT Pro to set the proper alpha-channel "mask" option later. Assume ther may be other ways to do this.

How to color overlay on non-transparent pixels only?

So I need help to make a layer that is a solid color that overlays over everything underneath it but only applies to non-transparent pixels. Is there any way to do this?

Well see, there's a lot of layers underneath it and the things that I want the color to be overlayed on changes often because I only want a few layers shown at a time.
Here, let me try to explain. I made a .psd file with a bunch of characters for a video game. All of the characters have the same body but different heads. I made layers for the body and all of the heads (the background is transparent.) The base layers of the heads and body is grey and then I created layers above them that were color and applied an overlay that was only as big as the head/body for every color. This quickly became tedius because of how many heads there were and I thought since the head and body are supposed to be the same color anyway I might as well created a layer that's a solid color above the heads and bodies that overlays everything. However, the problem is that color also covers the background and I only want the parts of the character to be colored.
Also, what kind of adjustment layer? Would that still be applicable in this situation?

I am opening my .mpg files with the help of JMF.
The movie sample is of resolution 160 X 300.
I want it should fit into area of 670*670, 330*670 , 330*330 ,250*250.
I tried to set panel size but it failed.
I tried to set visualComponent size but again failed.
I have one restriction that JFrame should not maximized it fixed according to my resolution(1024*768)
