How do I populate my LDAP store with JMQ users?

I'm working on a project and I would like to implement JMQ as the messageing
backbone for all the components.
I'm a bit stuck in that I'm trying to create the propler LDAP entries in my
LDAP database so I can use jmqobjmgr to add a connection factory and a topic
to the LDAP directory. The JMQ Admin guide gives the jmqobjmgr commands but I
could use a little guidance in setting up my LDAP database.

We didn't really cover the directory server setup because it varies so
much from directory server to directory server. In the future it is likely
we will provide an FAQ about how to setup LDAP relative to the iPlanet
Directory Server.
How do I store administered objects in an LDAP server?
The current supported object store for jmqobjmgr and jmqadmin is a file system or an LDAP server.
In order to store administered objects in an LDAP server, one needs to understand some basics of the LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access
Protocol) as well as the object store setup in general.
What is a Lookup Name?
A lookup name is a name given to an administered object when storing the object in an LDAP server. In an LDAP object store, the lookup
name must begin with "cn=". The following are valid lookup names for an LDAP object store.
cn=myTopic
cn=queue
What is "cn" and Why "cn"?
"cn" stands for "commonName" in LDAP. The "commonName" attribute contains a name of an object. When storing an administered object,
the cn attribute should be set. This is because every administered object inherits a javacontainer object class and the cn is a mandatory
attribute for the javacontainer object class.
Technically speaking, if one sets the cn attribute separately when creating an administered object, the lookup name does not have to begin
with "cn=". However, the admin group decided to keep things simple by requiring that the lookup
name begin with "cn=" therefore eliminating
an extra step to set the cn attribute. We have also observed different behaviors in different implementations of publicly available LDAP servers
when "cn=" was not a part of the lookup name.
What do I need to do to setup an LDAP object store?
One must set two JNDI attributes when using an LDAP server for the object store. These attributes are:
java.naming.factory.initial
java.naming.provider.url
When using the service provider implementation provided by the bundle, java.naming.factory.initial should be set to
com.sun.jndi.ldap.LdapCtxFactory.
The url is dependent on the setup of the LDAP server.
An example url would look something like the following:
java.naming.provider.url=ldap://mydomain.com:389/o=JMQ
If the LDAP server is secured, one will also need to set additional JNDI attributes. Such common attributes are:
java.naming.security.authentication
java.naming.security.principal
java.naming.security.credentials
Authentication refers to a string specifying the type of authentication to use;
one of "none", "simple", "strong", or a provider-specific string.
Principal refers to a string that specifies the identity of the entity
performing the authentication.
Credentials refers to an object specifying the credentials of the entity
performing the authentication.
Some examples of these attributes may look like:
java.naming.security.authentication=simple
java.naming.security.principal=uid=fooUser, ou=People, o=JMQ
java.naming.security.credentials=fooPasswd
One should consult the LDAP documentation for further details.
I checked my LDAP server's schema definitions and I didn't see any java related object classes. How can I install them?
iPlanet Directory Server 4.11 and higher has the proper java schema pre-installed. If these could not be located in the schema definitions, one
can run the CreateJavaSchema java program located at the following url to install appropriate java schema.

    Hi,
    In the SOAP Receiver adapter, you can only store 10 userid/password combinations via Authorization Keys. These are called via Dynamic Configuration via technical name TAuthKey. In your case, for it to work, you need:
    1. 2 business components/2 SOAP receiver communication channels.
    2. 1 receiver determination with xPath for username to determine correct business component
    3. 1 interface determination
    4. 2 receiver agreements (one for each cc)
    Hope this helps,
    Mark

  • How do I use the App store with macbook pro and mac pro

    I currently use the app store with the mac book, but want to buy (share?) apps and music with the mac pro.
    I can't find anything that specifically outlines how this works.
    I use SplashID with the macbook and an iPhone, and want to use it (and sync it) on the mac pro as well.
    If you buy apps for a macbook, can you use them on a second machine, or do you need to buy it a second time?

    Your license from the MAS allows you to download and install the apps on as many Macs as you own or have under your control (institutional or employer supplied Macs.) The Mac should to be running Mac OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard or Mac OS X 10.7.2 Lion. Open the MAS app on the Mac Pro and sign into your account to have access to download all of your previous purchases in the Purchased pane.
    Simple apps can also be dragged & dropped over a network connection from the MacBook to the Mac Pro.

  • How can I populate my PC HD with all the files that are currently on my iPod Classic?

    I think I've changed PCs three times since I've had my iPod Classic 80 gb.
    I think because of this, I have lost copies of files on my PC along the way (probably some of them remained in the earlier PCs and never made it to my current PC) although everything still seems to be on my iPod. So, I often get the message "Cannot locate file."
    Is there a way to populate my current PC with all the files I have on my iPod?
    Simply syncing my iPod doesn't seem to do the trick.
    Thanks for the help!

    You cannot use an iPod backup to restore to an iPad, nor can you use an iPad backup to restore to an iPod.
    Some apps support data syncing through iCloud, but this feature needs building into the app by the developer. If your app doesn't support this, then I believe there is no way to transfer the data between your two devices.

  • How do I create an object store on JMQ 2.0?

    I have a question about creating an object store in JMQ 2.0 using the
    administration tool.
    The documentation doesn't explain it that clearly because it says for
    development purposes, you should be able to get away with the default
    configuration. The default configuration as far as I can see has no object
    store for JNDI lookup.
    What I need is an object store that I can connect with using an
    InitialContextFactory to the broker URL. I'd like to then use that
    Connection to lookup ConnectionFactories (topic and queue).
    Again, I thought the documentation would explain all of this, but haven't
    been able to find anything. Please advise.

    To answer your question, you can use the 'jmqadmin'
    (graphical interface) or 'jmqobjmgr' (command line interface)
    to configure administered objects that you store in a
    JNDI service provider. This object store has to be set up
    in advance which may mean creating a directory if a file store
    is used, or setting up an LDAP server.
    Here as the basic steps to add administered objects
    if you're using the graphical implementation ('jmqadmin'):
    1. Set up some sort of object store repository outside the admin
    tool (you can use LDAP or create a file system directory).
    2. Add an Object Store connection to the repository you
    just set up:
    - Run 'jmqadmin', click on the tree node "JMQ Object Stores".
    - Select Actions->Add Object Store.
    - Name this Object Store with a value in "Object Store Label".
    - Fill in the values for java.naming.factory.initial
    and java.naming.provider.url and any other necessary JNDI values.
    - Select OK
    3. To add objects to this object store you just set up:
    - First make a connection to this store:
    Select Actions->Connect to Object Store
    - Click on the "Destinations" or "Connection Factories" node
    under this object store.
    - Click on Actions->Add Destination Object or Add Connection Factory Object
    and fill in the values in the dialog.

  • How do i share my itunes library with other users on the same mac

    I'm trying to share my itunes library with other users on the same mac.  I have tried moving my library to a public folder but when the other user logs in they can't see it in the public folder?

    Presuming you moved the entire iTunes folder to the shared folder the other users need to start their iTunes while holding down the option/alt key and select the iTunes Library.itl file in the shared folder.  Only once should be necessary.  Note that any changes anybody makes will be seen by everybody, so you have to trust each other a lot.
    If all you moved are media files each user will have to add those files to their iTunes library.

  • How to share library on same mac with two users

    please provide step by step instruction on how to share library for my two girls on the same computer. my older daughter already has itouch and library. Now for the holidays got younger one an itouch also and want to share the library.
    i am a novice with computers...so please help

    just in case you haven't already resolved this, see: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1203
    To share your music with other accounts on the computer
    On Mac OS X
    1. Quit iTunes.
    2. Locate your iTunes Music Folder. It is stored by default in ~/Music/iTunes or ~/Documents/iTunes/.
    These folders cannot be accessed by other accounts on the computer. In order for other users to be able to access your music, you must move it to a publicly accessible location.
    The Public folder in your home directory (~/Public), or to another folder outside your home directory that other users have access to, such as /Users/Shared.
    Tip: The tilde "~" refers to your home folder. For more information see Mac OS X: Using Your Home Directory.
    3. Drag the iTunes Music Folder to a publicly accessible location.
    Important: Do not move the iTunes folder, the iTunes 4 Music Library file or the iTunes Library.xml file.
    4. Open iTunes.
    5. From the iTunes menu, choose Preferences.
    6. Click Advanced.
    7. Click the Change button.
    8. Navigate in the Change Music Folder Location dialog to the location of your iTunes Music folder.
    9. Click Choose.
    Repeat these steps for each account that is sharing music with other users.
    Note: If multiple users of a computer are storing music in one folder, duplicate song files are generated when a user imports music from CD that has already been imported by another user.

  • How to auto populate numerous pdf files with same name and address?

    I have numerous pdf files where a company's name and address will need to be entered onto each file.  Would there be a way to enter this information once, say on an excel file or something, and then have this information auto populate all the correct fields in each and every pdf file I have to fill out.  I am a complete rookie with Adobe Acrobat.  At any one's convenience please let me know or point me in a direction where I can possibly learn this for myself.  If Adobe offers this type of service please let me know which department to contact.

    If you were an InDesign user, you could layout the document there, and use the Data Merge feature to bring in the names and addresses from Excel. Then create a PDF of the resulting file which could be split into individual PDFs.
    There might be a way to do it similarly with Microsoft Word and Mail Merge.
