How do I refresh floating fields?

I read through some of the other topics, but could not solve my problem.
I have set floating fields to "prefill" from a database a client's name. The fields work great - once.
The floating fields use the same binding schema as the name fields within the form and prefill with the same information (during form load). However, I need the floating fields to change if the other field(s) change (while the user is filling in the form).
For example: If FirstNm (textobject) prefills with "Jim" during the form load, the floating text does too. If I change the text object to "John" (after the form has loaded), the floating field does not change.
I have tried with Global and binding schemas, and seem to get the values to update while the user is using the forms.
Is there a way to fix this?

I was hoping it was that simple, but - it's not working.
In my text objext (exit) event I tried:
xfa.form.remerge();
and
xfa.layout.relayout();
Neither one is working to refresh the floating fields.
I am probably missing something easy.
A little more detail of what I am looking at:
My text object (form1.P1.grpPart1.FirstNm1[0]::exit) needs to refresh my floating field (form1.P1.grpPart3.FirstNm1[2]).
I have about 10 of these groupings, but I am hoping that once I exercise this demon, the rest will fall in line.
Any more ideas??

Refreshing the fields in a view

Hi Gurus,
I have a requirement of refreshing the values of fields in custom assignment block when clicked on NEW tab in WEB UI.
If I open an existing campaign and then i click in NEW, then the values of custom fields are not getting refreshed. these fields are created using Value nodes and the assignment block is custom one.
Also few of the fields are made Display only as per business requirement. So these values are getting stored by default for the new entry.
Please help me through this.

I think the mistake u did is populating the collection/entity of your custom view in some other place rather than on_new_focus method of the context class. So when u first time come to the view, it is calling your custom code and populating your custom view. But when u click new, it is not executing that method and it is not refreshing. on_new_focus is called everytime
you change to new or open in edit mode..that method should be declared as event handler method..
Move your code to the on_new_focus method of the particular context node. see standard codes how that is created and used...
e.g. you can see the component/view BT112H_SC/Details, context node BTPARTNERSET and method CREATE_BTPARTNERSET of CL_BT112H_S_DETAILS_CTXT of how it is used.

Clear/refresh(F5) fields in web dynpro application view

How to clear or refresh(F5) fields in web dynpro application abap while redirecting to another view? I have tried using "context_node->invalidate()" but it's not working for all the fields, some are getting initialised and some not. Is there any other method to refresh all the fields in the view all at once. Please guide.

For the Context node( to which the drop down is bound) create a supply function as shown below:
Now populate the drop down in supply function method instead of WDDOINIT method.
Go to methods tab and write the below code in supply function method:
DATA lo_nd_drop TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_node.
    DATA lt_drop TYPE wd_this->elements_drop.
    DATA ls_drop TYPE wd_this->element_drop.
*Fill Drop down
    ls_drop-val = 'ABC'.
    APPEND ls_drop to lt_drop.
    ls_drop-val = 'DEF'.
    APPEND ls_drop to lt_drop.
* bind all the elements
   node->bind_table(
     new_items            = lt_drop
     set_initial_elements = abap_true ).
Now once you call invalidate( ) the drop down will automatically be initialized( since the supply function will be called again) And you don't have to write the code again to populate the drop down.

Determine the number of lines of textfield or floating field

Hi,
Is there a way to determine the number of lines of text in a textfield or in a floatingfield.
My problem is that I'm creating a form with three tables(made of subforms) underneed each other that needs to be set to hidden when the total of rows is greater than 25.
Now it would be easy to just count the rows but these rows can exist of multiple lines of text.
The fields of my row are floating fields so when the text is bigger than the displayable width the text continous on a new line in the same row. So I need to know when this happens because now I can show only 24 rows.
I tried counting the characters but this doesn't work, when there are a lot of 'i,j,l' or other small characters I can place 40 characters in my textfield, but when there are a lot of 'm,w' characters I can place only 22 characters in my field.
I also tried to use xfa.layout.h(TextField1,"cm") to determine the height of the field, but it always retuns the value -1. I get the same -1 with the y or x - position.
Does anybody have an idea how to solve this problem?

Floating fields and added pages

Hi everybody,
My problem is to know how I could bind some floating fields when I get several pages. The user fill in the page 1 of a form and the text appear on the page 1 and on the two following cards. But, but it doesn't work when I add many pages. The text is different on the page 2 and so on.

Line breaks within contents of floating fields

Hello everyone,
I have the following question regarding the usage of floating fields and line breaks:
I have a text that incorporates a companies name using a floating field.
If the name of the company is too large, a line break is forced automatically. In some cases the companies name is like "Company 123 N.V.". When the line break is forced on this company, its shows "Company 123 N." on the first line and "V." on the second line.
How can i prevent the line break at "N."? I suppose the break is because of the "." in the text. But I want it only to be a line break if the "." is followed by a space, not if there is more text to it.
The same sort of issue we face with floating fields containing for example telephone numbers ( format: "+31 (0) 20 - 123 456 1", line break at the "+", "(" or the spaces) and e-mail addresses ( [email protected], line break at the "@" or the ".") .

Adobe LiveCycle Designer 8 floating fields

We have several PDF templates for our customers. We created an editable text field with a lot of default content in it. The customer is able to modify this content.
Is it possible to add floating fields in a Text Field? (in the object - value - default). I know it is possible to add floating fields into a Text label but as far as I know it is impossible to edit Text labels in the PDF template.
Any advice/information would be nice!

How to populate a custom field of a Std. SAP Tx with BAPI usage 2 Load data

For instance, I created a custom field (say, custom_field_1) on a screen of standard SAP tx(say, ME21N) by using screen exit. And in order to populate the data into it (custom_field_1), will use the Function user exits of this Tx(ME23N).
1) In next step, Where Where I have to add this field, apart from appending the same custom field in EKKO/EKPO table or any other related table; Extending the corresponding IDOC or creating a new Custom ÍDOC type? like What about BAPI?
2) If I got a text file with the data (including the data for this custom_field_1 too) and I have been asked to load it into SAP, then, I decided to use BAPI (say, BAPI_PO_CREATE or CREATE1) to create the data, So, How to handle this custom field, I mean, In which BAPI structure I have to pass this custom_field_1 data? ( Iguess, for some BAPIs EXTENSIONIN structures are provided, sorry if am wrong!)

How do you refresh a report after an update?

I have a Welcome Page that has several Portlets on it. One of the Portlets is a QBE report. From the report a user can click on a column record and be transported to a form, where the user can modify the record. Once the user is satisfied with the changes, the user hits the UPDATE button and is transported back to the Welcome Page. The only problem is that the Report has not been updated. Refresh does not work on the web toolbar and the only way I figured out on how to refresh the report is to go into the 'Customize' page and make some sort of change and hit O.K. After that, I am redirected back to the Welcome Page with the Report refreshed with current data. How can I refresh the report, without going into the 'Customize' Page? What code does the 'Customize' page do, to automatically refresh the report? I am using Portal 9.0.2.2.14.

Hi,
This is due to webcache. You can solve this problem by calling the page url with an extra parameter. That way the page would get invalidated.
Say the page url is
http://domain/portal/page_pageid=33,32951&_dad=portaldad&_schema=portalschema
then you should call the page like this
http://domain/portal/page_pageid=33,32951&_dad=portaldad&_schema=portalschema&1=2
This just adds a dummy parameter at the end and hence invalidates the cache.

as there are already the same fields with existing records..all i want is how to get the field where the values doesnt exist....i.e..fin supply and phy supply exists in one zone and doesnt have values in other zone...so huv to insist the physical field into the table?

I am trying to get multiple selected value from a list but i dont know how to get multiple selected fields from a list though AS3.
Actually i want to pass the selected fields to php, so for that i need to get the selections and send to php.

Its simple......use
list.selectedItems[index]
and to get the number of items selected......
list.selectedItems.length

How to modify a lookup field-type to use checkbox instead of radiobutton?
I would like to modify the behavior for the lookup field.
Normally you get a screen where it is possible to search through a lookup. The items resulted from the search are listed as radiobutton items. Therefore you can select only one at the time to be added.
Is it possible to have the items to be listed as checkbox instead? So that you can check multiple items and therefore be able to add multiple items at the time?
For example:
To add the user to 10 different groups on MS-AD.
It is desired to have the ability to check multiple groups to be added instead only one at the time.
My client would like to use this feature in many other situations.

Displaying will not be a big deal but with that you have to customize the action class and its working as well.
