Refreshing the fields in a view

Hi Gurus,
I have a requirement of refreshing the values of fields in custom assignment block when clicked on NEW tab in WEB UI.
If I open an existing campaign and then i click in NEW, then the values of custom fields are not getting refreshed. these fields are created using Value nodes and the assignment block is custom one.
Also few of the fields are made Display only as per business requirement. So these values are getting stored by default for the new entry.
Please help me through this.

I think the mistake u did is populating the collection/entity of your custom view in some other place rather than on_new_focus method of the context class. So when u first time come to the view, it is calling your custom code and populating your custom view. But when u click new, it is not executing that method and it is not refreshing. on_new_focus is called everytime
you change to new or open in edit mode..that method should be declared as event handler method..
Move your code to the on_new_focus method of the particular context node. see standard codes how that is created and used...
e.g. you can see the component/view BT112H_SC/Details, context node BTPARTNERSET and method CREATE_BTPARTNERSET of CL_BT112H_S_DETAILS_CTXT of how it is used.

Modal popup window refresh the parent (calling) window/view

I have a modal popup window that is adding detail records. When this window is closed via the Hide method in my controller I would like to refresh the parent (calling) window/view.
What is the best way to do this?

Here's my process.....
2-windows & 3 views
Window 1 - Selection View and Detail View
Window 2 - Add View (used as a modal popup window called by a button click on the detail view)
Selection View has all the options for obtaining a list of data for the detail view. The detail view has an Add button. Component controller has the hide method and access to the other components that do the update/query methods. On the detail view the user can click Add and a popup modal window shows. User enters data and clicks either the add or cancel button. The Detail view needs to refresh to show the additional data that has been added by the modal window. There are calcuated values in the detail view from a supply function. This function is not running and the values are not changed.
What should be put in the hide method that will cause the detail view to obtain new data and supply the calculated values? If I was using the Add view as part of the same window as the detail/selection views I'd just put in a navigation link between the detail and add views and fire the plug. I like the idea of the popup window so I'd like to get this to work.
I put the wdContext.initialize() in the hide method - which yes - caused the detail view to run - however the context lost all the key values so I received a data not found. I then tried to initialize those nodes that did not contain the key values but the detail view did not display new values.

Swapping the fields in a view cluster

I have a view cluster with the fields in the order FIELD1, FIELD2, FIELD3, FIELD4.
My requirement is that it should come in the order FIELD1, FIELD4, FIELD3, FIELD2.

after fetching you can pass them to the required order into another internal table of the required order.
or define you internal table the way you want the data to come and in select statement it self you can use into corresponding fields to get the data in their respective positions

The purpose of EDIVIEW is used to read the attributes and syntax of an IDoc view. The attributes of the IDoc view contain the description of the IDoc view, as well as the assigned basic type, the assigned extension and the assigned logical message.
You can find this information in table EDVIEW. Also you can use FM EDI_VIEW_READ to get the same information.

Cannot select the fields for table view WB2_V_MKPF_MSEG2

Hi, I have a program where the query is using join statement of MSEG and MKPF. As part of the performance enhancement I use Table View WB2_V_MKPF_MSEG2 instead.
Validation: Entries in MSEG and MKPF is the same as in WB2_V_MKPF_MSEG2 = OK (via SE16)
But upon debugging the program on SY-SUBRC breakpoint, I can see 5 rows appended in internal table T_MSEG "BUT" the entries are all blank.
The entries in my SE16 are exact data that's appearing on the filter statement in my SQL query below. SE16 is giving correct output, but using table view in my SQL does not give me the correct output.
(Note: This is my first time to use table view in ABAP-SQL)

In my debug, T_MSEG contains the same number of rows that my SE16>WB2_V_MKPF_MSEG2(using the hard coded statement in my SQL) "BUT" each rows does not have any entries. Bottomline, I can't only see blank entries in ITAB T_MSEG but the rows are being selected properly, so the itab contains x-number of rows with blank entries.

Clicking a tree node does not refresh the fields in the table component

hi all,
I am using a tree component along with a table component in my page.so whenever i am clicking on a node it should display the relevant information of that node in the table from the database.But whenever i am doing the page is not refreshing and the old values of the textfields in the table still exist.i have written the code to populate the table in a button click event.It is working fine but the same is not working when i am clicking any node in the tree component.Can anyone provide a solution to this problem.

How to refresh the list of select one choice which is inside a table?

Hello I am using Jdeveloper Version 11.1.2.1.0.
The table is a normal table that is made to look like a treeTable.
For some rows are or can be parents with Parent_vo_group_id = null and other are children with parent_vo_group_id = vo_group_id of the parent...
If a children changes its parent_vo_group_id to null it can become a parent as well.
I am having a select one choice inside a table column. The list comes from the same table with column Name:

Passing field values from View Controller to Custom Controller

Hi Experts,
I am working on a customer requirment in which customer want to see the values of field from one view in another view. The Context node & Context node attribute are the same in both the views.
I am aware that we need to pass the field values from view controller to custom controller in order to see the field in the subsequent view. I would like to kow how i can achieve that technically?

I want the fields ID_TYPE & ID_TYPE_DESCRIPTION from IUICMD/SearchAccount to be available in IUICMD/DetailAccount. I have created a context node u201CSEARCHu201D in view IUICMD/DetailAccount. I have created the context node with out choosing u201CCreate with Instanceu201D. This Context node (SEARCH) is already available in IUICMD/SearchAccount as part of the standard.

How to refresh the filed catalog of POWL

Hi all,
How to refresh the field catalog of POWL? The requirement is that the result list should meet the selection/query criteria. Even the system has executed the mehod GET_FIELD_CATALOG in feeder class, the filed catalog still keep the the original look. I have to switch to other query and then reswith back, then the field catalog changed to the new one.

When you refresh the query, only then it goes to the method you have mentioned.
Also when you switch between the query, you have to do the refresh manually or there is personalization for query, On every visit of page, This option is avaible from 7.02 release.

Refreshing the Data Source View in Analysis Services

I have added columns to the SQL Database table that is used as a dimension in an Analysis Services Cube. The new columns will be used as additional Property Fields for the dimension. When I attempted to refresh the Data Source view so that the additional columns are present, I am given the following error:
System.Data
Property not accessible because 'Parent Columns and Child Columns don't have type-matching columns'
I have done nothing to the columns used for the parent of child and the error message provides nothing to gon on. Does anyone have any ideas on this?

Thanks for your response. I will try and answer your questions
1) I have not tried removing the columns yet. I will try that this afternoon but have limited hope. The two columns I added are simple text columns that will be used as attributes in the dimension. I have made no change to the parent or child columns.
2) The table I modified is the source table for a parent-child dimension.
3) The reference to the "check list" does not take me to any kind of check list.
4) The parent-child dimensions I am trying to modify have been in use for months and the parent and child columns do have the dame data types.
5) I have also check the data types between the dimension table and the fact table. they use the same data types (small int).
6) I have not made a collection for the parent key, it is a single column. The remainder of your last paragraph is not clear to me. Can you give me an example.
I am fairly inexperienced with Analysis Services, please talk slow and use small words :-)

Problem with Refreshing the data bound text fields

First of all, this a GREAT product and I am moving my apps from Eclipse to Studio Creator. I am very impessed with it so far.
I am gone through most tutorials, but can't help resolve the problem that I am having. I have a page, that lists all the users in a table. When you click on any user, it opens up another page that lists the detail of the specific user you have clicked on. This a typical use in most web applications, right?
In the user detail page, I open it in "Read" only mode, by setting the "setReadOnly" to true for all text field components. Then users can edit it by clicking "Edit" button. Edit button just changes the "setReadOnly" to false, to allow editing. After editing, they can hit the "Save" button to save the changes. In the save button, I call this code:

YES, I am calling refresh() on data provider? I tried to call refresh in both "preRender()" and "Save" button action event, but that did not help either.
Please note that the save button also changes the "setReadOnly" back to TRUE for all text fields. That means, users view the page in Read-Only mode after saving. (They have to click on "Edit" button again to edit it). I discovered that if I do not set the text field components in "ReadOnly" mode, then they display the updated value of the fields. But if I change setReadOnly to TRUE, then they display the old values (before the save).
Any idea what I am doing wrong here?

be loaded with the values that they where added with.Hard to tell from this explanation, but if the text fields do not participate in a virtual form, then they are not going to get updated when an action in the virtual form happens. Not sure this is your problem. Like I say, hard to tell from this explanation.
They will not display the values though...having
nothing to do with read only. If I disable them
before hand...they display the updated values. If I
set their value at the top or bottom of prerender,
they display the change...if I set the value in an if
conditional that is hit (I have checked many times)
in prerender, they will not display the values. If I
set them in the tree handler anywhere, they will not
display the values. This is very frustrating and is
wasting tons of my time...I simply want to load the
text fields based on the tree node that was
clicked...I have messed with this for hours and it
certainly does not work.Well, setting them in the tree handler won't work because the tree handler gets called in the page instance that handles the submit and not the page instance that renders the response.
Posting your prerender code might help. Also, your action handler.
