How do I resequence image filenames in an iPhoto event?

My system configuration:  iMac i7 (2013), OS X Yosemite 10.10.1, current iPhoto app,  all updates installed, and iPhone 6 Plus.
Within an event in iPhoto on my iMac, I have 300 photos.  I have taken photos at various times within a two year period.  After taking the photos I imported them into the iPhoto event whenever it was convenient.  Now I have many photos in that particular event that have various unsequenced image file names such as IMG_0250, IMG_0262, IMG_0271, etc, etc.  I am worried that sometime a photo that I take with my iPhone 6 Plus will have a duplicate image filename again such as IMG_0262.  I do not want the duplicate IMG_0262 on the iPhone to overwrite the previous IMG_0262 file on the iMac.  Since my photo filenames are unsequenced, I would like to sequence them and begin their names with IMG_0001, IMG_0002, etc, etc.  I resequenced the image names once before in another event, but do not remember the procedure I used.  Can someone please assist this old man.  Thanks

1. These are filenames created by your camera, not image titles.
2. A new photo with the same name will not ever overwrite another one. The file management on iphoto is smarter than that.
3. You can change the title of a photos using the Photos -> Batch Change command.

    I dont know why they say that mac is easy......

    File -> Import to Library
    Drag to the iPhoto Window
    Drag to the iPhoto icon.

  • How to import specific images from camera to iPhoto

    I've been using Nikon Tranfers to bring images to my iMac, it's a really easy application to use but recently it has developed a bug which prevents me from deleting the images on the SD card once they are transferred.  I looked at using iPhoto but when the SD card is connected via a reader it doesn't show the gallery of images that are on the card, it prompts me to enter an album name but then it transfers all the images on the card onto the iMac.
    Is there a way to view the files on the card and to select specific ones to transfer/

    What version of iPhoto?
    Prior to iPhoto '08 image capture was the only way to selective import was image capture.

  • TS2972 How can i force displaying the latest imported iPhoto events?

    I want to see the latest pictures i have imported to my library. it takes about 30 minutes until they are available at the Apple TV (ATV3).
    For example I come from an trip where we did some nice photos, which we wand to see via the Apple TV on the big TV. I import the photos to iPhoto (latest Version 9.3). If I select Photos from the Homesharing of my MacBook I always miss the latest import. It takes about 30 minutes after it suddenly appears.
    I always try to reenter the homesharing of the fotos, but it seems it doesnt help.

    Another caveat of an alias based library with video files in it is that iPhoto will not let you operate if the drive with those files is not mounted. It will continually ask you to locate the files. It doesn't do that for image files that are aliased, just video/movie files. That can be a big pain.
    Do you Twango?
    TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance. iPhoto doesn't not have to be closed to run it, just idle.
    I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • How to transfer iPhoto events from iPod Classic to Mac

    I have an old iPod Classic 80GB and used to sync all my iPhoto events with it (full resolution pictures and disk use enabled).
    Now my MacBook White HD crashed, and I would like to transfer all the events to a MacBook Air running Mountain Lion (v10.8.2). I could easily copy and paste the "Full Resolution" folder, which has all the pictures. However, I could not manage a way of transfering the photos metadata, i.e., I was unable to transfer the events' names along with the photos or keep them sepparated in events.
    I have read this article http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1930, according to which the iPhoto should identify my iPod and would be able to import the pictures. But the iPhoto (v9.4.2) can't "see" the iPod (perhaps because it's a much newer iPhoto version compared to the one running in my old Tiger MacBook White). And if it could, I'm afraid it wouldn't identify the events in which every group of pictures is split.
    How can I import the photos sepparated in iPhoto events from my iPod Classic to the Mac? Any ideas?

    Yes, iPhoto is the best choice for you.

  • How to get all image files from a folder to wwv_flow_files?

    Hi there!
    Is it possible in apex to show, in a report look-a-like, all image filenames from a folder in another machine (i enter in that machine by ip) and insert all files into wwv_flow_files?
    I want to see all files, then pick one and open a image...
    But it can't be by browse item... it has to show all filenames as a list...
    If it is possible, how can i do it?
    Thanks!
    Best regards,

    Hi,
    you can connect to the server using UTL_HTTP.
    Then for each files you copy the response into a BLOB to be able to show it or to store it in a table.
    A piece of code :
    begin
       -- initialize the BLOB.
       dbms_lob.createtemporary(l_blob, false);
       -- path to the file
       l_url := 'http://your_server/your_file.jpg';
       -- begin retrieving the target.
       l_req := utl_http.begin_request(l_url);
       -- identify ourselves (some sites serve special pages for particular browsers)
       utl_http.set_header(l_req, 'User-Agent', 'Mozilla/4.0');
       -- start receiving the response.
       l_resp := utl_http.get_response(l_req);
       -- copy the response into the BLOB.
       begin
          loop
             utl_http.read_raw(l_resp, l_raw, 32767);
             dbms_lob.writeappend (l_blob, utl_raw.length(l_raw), l_raw);
          end loop;
          -- stop when exception end_of_body is raised
       exception
          when utl_http.end_of_body then
             utl_http.end_response(l_resp);
       end;
    end;It's a minimal example, you may need authentication, check l_resp.status_code, etc...

  • How to insert a image file into oracle database

    hi all
    can anyone guide me how to insert a image file into oracle database now
    i have created table using
    create table imagestore(image blob);
    but when inserting i totally lost don't know what to do how to write query to insert image file

    Hi I don't have time to explain really, I did have to do this a while ago though so I will post a code snippet. This is using the commons file upload framework.
    Firstly you need a multi part form data (if you are using a web page). If you are not using a web page ignore this bit.
    out.println("<form name=\"imgFrm\" method=\"post\" enctype=\"multipart/form-data\" action=\"FileUploadServlet?thisPageAction=reloaded\" onSubmit=\"return submitForm();\"><input type=\"FILE\" name=\"imgSource\" size='60' class='smalltext' onKeyPress='return stopUserInput();' onKeyUp='stopUserInput();' onKeyDown='stopUserInput();' onMouseDown='noMouseDown(event);'>");
    out.println("   <input type='submit' name='submit' value='Submit' class='smalltext'>");
    out.println("</form>"); Import this once you have the jar file:
    import org.apache.commons.fileupload.*;Now a method I wrote to upload the file. I am not saying that this is correct, or its the best way to do this. I am just saying it works for me.
    private boolean uploadFile(HttpServletRequest request, HttpSession session) throws Exception {
            boolean result = true;
            String fileName = null;
            byte fileData[] = null;
            String fileUploadError = null;
            String imageType = "";
            String error = "";
            DiskFileUpload fb = new DiskFileUpload();
            List fileItems = fb.parseRequest(request);
            Iterator it = fileItems.iterator();
            while(it.hasNext()){
                FileItem fileItem = (FileItem)it.next();
                if (!fileItem.isFormField()) {
                    fileName = fileItem.getName();
                    fileData = fileItem.get();
                    // Get the imageType from the filename extension
                    if (fileName != null) {
                        int dotPos = fileName.indexOf('.');
                        if (dotPos >= 0 && dotPos != fileName.length()-1) {
                            imageType = fileName.substring(dotPos+1).toLowerCase();
                            if (imageType.equals("jpg")) {
                                imageType = "jpeg";
            String filePath = request.getParameter("FILE_PATH");
            session.setAttribute("filePath", filePath);
            session.setAttribute("fileData", fileData);
            session.setAttribute("fileName", fileName);
            session.setAttribute("imageType", imageType);
            return result;
         } And now finally the method to actually write the file to the database:
    private int writeImageFile(byte[] fileData, String fileName, String imageType, String mode, Integer signatureIDIn, HttpServletRequest request) throws Exception {
            //If the previous code found a file that can be uploaded then
            //save it into the database via a pstmt
            String sql = "";
            UtilDBquery udbq = getUser(request).connectToDatabase();
            Connection con = null;
            int signatureID = 0;
            PreparedStatement pstmt = null;
            try {
                udbq.setUsePreparedStatements(true);
                con = udbq.getPooledConnection();
                con.setAutoCommit(false);
                if((!mode.equals("U")) || (mode.equals("U") && signatureIDIn == 0)) {
                    sql = "SELECT SEQ_SIGNATURE_ID.nextval FROM DUAL";
                    pstmt = con.prepareStatement(sql);
                    ResultSet rs = pstmt.executeQuery();
                    while(rs.next()) {
                       signatureID = rs.getInt(1);
                    if (fileName != null && imageType != null) {
                        sql = "INSERT INTO T_SIGNATURE (SIGNATURE_ID, SIGNATURE) values (?,?)";
                        InputStream is2 = new ByteArrayInputStream(fileData);
                        pstmt = con.prepareStatement(sql);
                        pstmt.setInt(1, signatureID);
                        pstmt.setBinaryStream(2, is2, (int)(fileData.length));
                        pstmt.executeUpdate();
                        pstmt.close();
                        con.commit();
                        con = null;
                if(mode.equals("U") && signatureIDIn != 0) {
                    signatureID = signatureIDIn.intValue();
                    if (fileName != null && imageType != null) {
                        sql = "UPDATE T_SIGNATURE SET SIGNATURE = ? WHERE SIGNATURE_ID = ?";
                        InputStream is2 = new ByteArrayInputStream(fileData);
                        pstmt = con.prepareStatement(sql);
                        pstmt.setBinaryStream(1, is2, (int)(fileData.length));
                        pstmt.setInt(2, signatureID);
                        pstmt.executeUpdate();
                        pstmt.close();

    Two thoughts.
    The first is to ask Microsoft since it is their software.
    The second is to throw Excel away and get a real report writer like Business Objects or Cognos or one of the many report creating projects Oracle provides.
    Excel, by definition, is a violation of audit trail rules.

  • How to Display an Image on my FORM

    Good Day!
    I would like to ask some help from you guys with my problem on how to display an image on my form. I would like to display my uploaded image on my form but instead of an image, the get_blob_file is showing. By the way, I'm using Apex 4.1
    I downloaded the Order Entry Sample Application and followed the Page 6, the Product Details. I even made snapshots of each details from Page Rendering to Page Processing in order not to miss a thing.
    At the moment, I was able to upload or store the image on my created Oracle table and also able to retrieve it on the Download Link Text with Content Disposition value of Inline, provided by APEX Settings. If I invoke the Download link beside the file browser, a page with the image will be shown, below is the address:
    http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex/apex_util.get_blob_file?a=200&s=339877802936975&p=230&d=7107921433296839&i=7107601420296838&p_pk1=54&p_pk2=&p_ck=7D6512D967336C4B94258EEA3CDF1BE6&p_content_disposition=inline
    However, instead of showing the image on a region, below is the one showing on my Form:
    <img src="apex_util.get_blob_file?a=200&s=339877802936975&p=230&d=7107921433296839&i=7107601420296838&p_pk1=54&p_pk2=&p_ck=7D6512D967336C4B94258EEA3CDF1BE6" />
    As you can see the parameter values are the same but I know I missed something that's why I'm here :)
    I would highly appreciate all the help you can provide and many thanks in advance.
    I tried to change gear by making an html region of type PL/SQL (anonymous block) and a procedure but still no image :(
    Below are the scripts.
    declare
    cursor cur is

    htp.p( '<img src="my_image_display?p_image_id='||NVL(rec.empid,0)||'" height="'||100||'"/>' );
    else
    htp.p( 'No Image ');
    END IF;
    htp.p( ' ');
    end loop;
    end;
    PROCEDURE
    create or replace PROCEDURE my_image_display( p_image_id IN NUMBER)
    AS
    l_mime VARCHAR2 (255);
    l_length NUMBER;
    l_file_name VARCHAR2 (2000);
    lob_loc BLOB;
    BEGIN
    SELECT MIME_TYPE, PHOTO_BLOB_CONTENT, PHOTO_FILENAME,DBMS_LOB.GETLENGTH(photo_blob_content)
    INTO l_mime,lob_loc,l_file_name,l_length
    FROM wsemployee
    WHERE empid = p_image_id;
    -- set up HTTP header
    -- use an NVL around the mime type and
    -- if it is a null set it to application/octect
    -- application/octect may launch a download window from windows
    owa_util.mime_header( nvl(l_mime,'application/octet'), FALSE );
    -- set the size so the browser knows how much to download
    htp.p('Content-length: ' || l_length);
    -- the filename will be used by the browser if the users does a save as
    htp.p('Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="'||replace(replace(substr(l_file_name,instr(l_file_name,'/')+1),chr(10),null),chr(13),null)|| '"');
    -- close the headers
    owa_util.http_header_close;
    -- download the BLOB

    Hi Ying,
    you can add a UDF to the table spp2 with a programm
    but the table is not yet listed in the 'Manage User Fields' form.
    there's no way to "enable" it - sorry

  • How to get my images always order by file name, and not by time of captur, in all the folders in the library?

    How to get my images always order by arquive name, and not by time of captur, in all the folders in the library?
    Sorry for the poor english, but im portugues.
    In the library we can change the order of classification of image by, time of capture, name of file etc... I'm wondering if its possible define to be always by the name of file.
    It ´s possible?
    And i have other question, in print label we have an option to auto rotate to feet in page to have the image using the maximum area in the page (auto rotate, zoom etc), its possible to change the orientation of the rotation to be always in  the other direction?

    The Muvos are USB Mass Storage devices and do not have the ability to display track information based upon ID3 tags.
    The Zens all read and display track info based upon ID3 tag information that is either gathered from an online source or entered by the end-user.
    If you want the track information displayed instead of the ID3 tag information, you could edit the ID3 tags and rename the title to whatever you have as the file name. Not sure why your file names would differ so much from the ID3 tag info though, almost all of my content has the same name for the filename as it does on the ID3 tag title.

  • How to put an image to any part of an e-mail using UTL_SMTP

    We need to send an e-mail with the following format.
    |COMPANY LOGO (JPEC IMAGE)          |
    |                                    |
    |                                    |
    |              HTML table            |
    |                                    |
    |                                    |
    ------------------------------------The exact format is shown here: http://postimage.org/image/76v4e5tmd/
    Above the Automatic Payment Advice is the JPEG image.
    How do we CONSTRUCT THIS e-mail? Our DB is a 10g R2. We use UTL_SMTP. Problem is how to insert an image to any part of the e-mail (not as a separate attachment)?

    Yes. It is possible. Read this posts of Billy Verreynne to uderstand the MIME format.

  • Link image filename to text.

    Hi, I am making a catalog and I have it in a basic format. Image of product first, underneath it is ProductID + Price.  The image filenames are formatted with the d of the product. How can I link it so in my catalog where is says ProductID: to have a string or variable after so that it will auto. take the file name of the above product and put in the id without .jpg following. I have tried but there is not even one way I can think of other then a simple link to the text box and the image box, there should be a feature to create any variable you like.

    In the sample scripts there is one called LabelGraphics which might work as a starting point (I've never used it myself). You could then run a series (if more than one format is involved) of GREP Find/Change queries to remove the extensions from the file names.
