How do I retrieve a hWnd required to draw an image created by an ActiveX object on a windows 7 64-bit system?

I'm calling to the NaturalPoint Optitrack SDK using activex controls and am trying to pull tracking data from a trackIR 5. I have connected to the camera and wanted to start by just viewing a captured frame. The Optitrack COM provides a function to draw the frame, but needs a hWnd handle for a window to draw to. I tried to call FindWindow from the user32.dll, but only found FindWindowA, FindWindowExA, FindWindowW, and FindWindowExW. I'm using Labview 8.6 (32-bit) on a Windows 7 64 bit system (trying to figure out how access the universities liscense manger to install LV2010 64 bit). Thanks

The other functions are variants, depending on how you're dealing with strings:
FindWindowW : Unicode names
FindWindowA: ANSI names
FindWindowEx: Searches child windows for the window that has the specified name. You can provide a parent window handle as a starting point. The "A" and "W" follow the same Unicode/ANSI names as FindWindow.
You'd want to use FindWindowA or FindWindowExA since LabVIEW doesn't support Unicode.

Updated to Firefox 4.0.1 5/21/11 on Windows 7 (64 bit) system. All worked until yesterday. Now Firefox crashes immediately when I try to launch it. Crash report gives reason as "EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION_READ". What is happening and how can I fix it??

I managed to fix this issue myself..I can access the home page as normal.
This is what fixed the issue.
Step 1 : Un-installed Oracle XE while logged in to the domain. ( Made sure it cleaned all installation files and registry and env variables by cross checking registry as mentioned here .
Step 2 : Logged in as admin on the local machine ( not domain ) and reinstalled it. Now it works just fine. (Closed all programs - didn’t open any programs..just ran Oracle installation )
I did install oracle xe logged in as a domain user before ( and my domain is user is part of local administrators) and it all worked just fine. May be it’s a permissions issue ( though I ran oracle installation as admin ) or host name change issue.
Phew..anyhow..finally it works!!

How do I add external speakers to my new HP Pavilion with Windows 7 64 bit system?

It seems like it would be self-explanatory to me. You attach speakers where the green male end is into the green female part in the back. Laughing, I try this and it doesn't work again. I try add device again, yet to no avail I end up here. WTF?
Can anyone make this simple. I would rather live in a land of simpletons at the moment.

It might be as simple as settings the speakers as the default sound device.
What model HP PC are you using? It appears that you have the cable plugged in correctly. What speakers are you using?
Do you by chance have speakers in your monitor that are working?

I have enabled printer sharing on XP PC and when searching for network printer on Windows 7 PC are able to see listed the Printer but need a Driver. When trying HP's Network diagnostic wizard this dosn't seem to be able to see printer however.

On your Win7 computer, remove any previous install attempt. Then run the driver install for your computer, you can download a Win7 driver for your printer.
When it gets to the connect a USB cable screen, just put a check in the "I'm not going to connect now" box.
This will load the driver on your computer.
This time when you go to add printer and connect across the network to the shared printer, your Win7 computer should list this model and just install.

How to install MF3110 software to Windows 8 (64 bit)?

I recently purchased a new computer configured with Windows 8 (64 bit). How do I install the software for the MF3110? Installing from the original Canon CD does not work on 64 bit systems. This is a fresh install on a new computer (not an OS upgrade on the same computer).
Since the setup program on the CD won't allow me to start the installation process, I copied the CD contents to my Dropbox (using an old Windows XP system) so that the files would be available to my new computer. Attempted to run the setup program in Compatibility Mode using Windows 8. Troubleshooter said that the software was incompatible with 64 bit systems and referred me to the Canon website.
I don't think there is a Windows 8 (64 bit) driver available for the MF3110. Some of the popular knowledge bases suggest using 64 bit drivers for other Canon models, but all of those scenarios involve OS upgrades on the same computer. I need to do a fresh install of all Canon software associated with the MF3110 and may require more than a driver, possibly some configuration elsewhere... not sure.
I also contacted Canon Customer Support. No workarounds were offered -- they suggested I purchase a new Canon printer.

Burn this image file (.iso) to a USB drive or DVD-R:
USB drive:
Get a blank USB drive with 8 GB+ capacity
Format this drive to Fat32 (Windows and Mac shared format), this will erase the drive!:
Finder > Applications > Utitilies > Disk Utility > Partition > 1 > Fat32
Extract the image file to the drive exposing its files:
Finder > Applications > Utilites > Boot Camp Assistant
Click both "Create a Win 7 or later version install disk" and "Download the latest windows support software from Apple" and advance
Locate your image (iso) file, example: /Users/Christoper/Downloads/X17-58997.iso.download/X17-58997.iso
Destination disk is your USB flash drive that was formatted to fat32, if it does not appear it may be in the wrong format
Click continue, this process takes a long time (30 mins - 1.5 hour estimated), it may appear that it is freezing because progress bar stops at times, do not stop it, let it keep running. If you are unsure it is still going, open finder > click the drive > get info, and look at the size of the files. Then close finder wait a few seconds, get info again and see that file size is slightly larger. The final file size was 4+ GB for me

I have not used a DVD-R but this is how I expect it to work:
Insert black DVD-R
Finder > Applications > Utitilies > Disk Utility > Burn
Locate your image (iso) file, example: /Users/Christoper/Downloads/X17-58997.iso.download/X17-58997.iso
Partition HD for WIndows 7:
Finder > Applications > Utilites > Boot Camp Assistant
Choose the 3rd option Install Windows 7
It will ask you to select a size of your Harddrive space for Windows OS, this will eat up some of the free space on your Mac HD. How much space is enough for a Windows OS? Depends on how many programs you plan to install on it. If you are just using for surfing web and running MS Office, probably 30-40 GB is enough, and this is what I did. Remember this space will be used up from your existing HD and not usable when you are in Mac OS. This process takes about 10 mins I think
Install Win 7 OS:
With USB drive in port or DVD in drive, restart laptop.
It will bring up the Win 7 installer on boot up
Select the OS type that you have a registered key for
It will ask you to find a HD to use for Win 7 OS:
Select the HD you just created, if you try to continue it will complain that HD is wrong format (because MAC formatted it to a MAC compatible HD, we will fix this)
Select the HD, there is a button to the right for "advanced" I believe is the text of it. It will allow you to reformat the drive, choose NTFS which it requires. Then proceed
Proceed to setup Win with your preferences
Type product key from your OS purchase or an existing one that you are moving from another machine
Select Default Boot Drive:
By default it selects Windows as your default OS to boot at power up, most people want Mac OSX to be the default, so this can be changed:
Finder > System Preferences > Startup Disk > select Mac
Enjoy having Windows on your Mac!

Why use Boot Camp: Sometimes you need to run a windows only program. Boot Camp lets you do that with the speed and smoothness of a full windows OS.
How is it different from Mac Virtual Machine: A VM allows you to run another OS simultaneously while you are running OSX, while in a window similar to any other application. A VM is not as fast, smooth, and may have limited screensize/view.
Is it possible to have a VM and Boot Camp: Yes, and I do this because sometimes I want to use a VM quickly without shutting down, sometimes I want the advantages of Boot Camp

I have a Clash of Clans account and I'm playing it for about 2 years. It was level 97 and it's currently in town hall 9. I'm afraid that I will lost my game if my phone gets broken. That's why I want my account to be linked to a different device, but I can't do it because it's asking me to log in first to my Game Center account. How can I retrieve my Game Center account? I just changed my Apple I.D. when Apple updated it's IOS to IOS 8, because it required me to do so. But when I wanted to log in my Game Center account it asks me to log in in my game, but it kept on saying that my game is already attached in another Game Center account. What am I suppose to do? In order to use the Game Center settings and progress from that game, you will need to log in to the Game Center account you have been using with it. You can change Game Center accounts on any device using the steps in this article -

Sign in to Game Center
Open Game Center and sign in using your Apple ID. If you don't have an Apple ID, select Create New Apple ID. If you need to sign in with a different Apple ID, follow these steps:
iOS: Go to Settings and tap Game Center > Apple ID > Sign Out.
OS X: Go to the Me tab and click Account > Sign Out.
When you sign in with a different Apple ID, you'll see different scores, achievements, and friends.

If you have backup of your files, you can get your call history back as long as you sync iPhone with iTunes frequently.
OK, the first thing you are required to do is close the function of "prevent iPhone from syncing automatically." in iTunes, avoiding to sync iPhone again.
Now, connect your iPhone to pc and open iTunes.
iTunes> preferences> devices
All the backup data in iTunes will be displayed.
Then,click the File menu and select Devices > Restore from Back up
your iPhone will restart and you can find them back.
This method only can find back the latest history, to get back the old, you should turn to a third party program for help.

Step by step
1. Erase all contents and settings
2. You'll be asked twice to confirm
3. You'll see Apple logo and progress bar
4. You'll see a big iPad logo on screen
5. Configuration start
6. Set language
7. Set country
8. Enable Location Service
9. Select network, enter password and join network
10. You'll be given 3 options (a) Setup as New iPad (b) Restore from iCloud Backup (c) Restore from iTune Backup
11. Selected Restore from iCloud Backup
12. You'll be required to enter Apple ID and Password
13. Agree to Terms and Conditions
14. Select Backup file
15. You'll see progress bar
16. Red slider will appear; slide to unlock; step #1 to #16 is fast
17. Pre-installed apps will be restored first
18. Message: Purchased apps and media will now be automatically downloaded
19. You'll see a pageful of apps with Waiting/Loading/Installing
20. Message: Some apps cannot be downloaded, please sync with computer
