How do I save preferences/values using javascript in dashboard widget?

How do I save preferences/values using javascript in dashboard widget? I apologize if this is a stupid question but I simply cant seem to find a way. For example, if on teh back side of the widget teh user chooses the color of the widget, where or how do I save that value so it is retained the next time the user goes to the dashboard. Also, once saved, how do I read the value?
Thanks a mil....

Please look into
/Developer/Examples/Dashboard/Goodbye World/3-Saving Preferences directory for a comple example.
Otherwise, wait until the following book is published :-))

    Hi, all-
    This isn't an Animate-specific issue, but I thought I'd take a stab at it anyway.  As with anything else on the web, you need to have a server script to handle incoming data, so it's all back end work.  Your page will need to call that script and provide parameters to that script that it can read.
    The easiest way I can think of to do this (and this is all highly theoretical, so please make sure it's secure before you implement it) is to create a 1px div that has visibility off.  Whenever you click, you can load your URL in that div, which then increments your counter on your db.
    Hope that helps inspire some interesting solutions!

  • How to call a preference value in XSLT

    Hi ALL,
    how to call a preference value(which is defined in bpel already) in XSLT??
    Can any one help me plz
    Regards,
    Venkat Ch

    Function to retrieve the preference :
    http://www.xenta.nl/blog/2009/10/28/oracle-soa-suite-11g-setting-and-getting-preferences/
    Create a new xsl mapping and let the 'first' parameter be some messageType variable (for example the inputVariable, or some other variable you use for your main input).
    In the xslt add between the "<xsl:stylesheet>"-tag and the "<xsl:template match=".">"-tag something like  "<xsl:param name="myPref" />"
    Your xsl is ready to receive the extra input parameter.
    Now in your bpel process do something like this
          <copy>
            <from expression="ora:doXSLTransformForDoc('xsl/myxslt.xsl', $inputVariable.input, 'myPref', ora:getPreference(myPref))"/>
            <to variable="myresult"/>
          </copy>
    or first assign ora:getPreference(myPref) to myPrefVar (xsd:string) and then use
          <copy>
            <from expression="ora:doXSLTransformForDoc('xsl/myxslt.xsl', $inputVariable.input, 'myPref', $myPrefVar)"/>
            <to variable="myresult"/>
          </copy>

    Hi,
    I assume you are talking about JDeveloper 10.1.3 in where there is no JavaScript API ADF Faces.Here you will have to use document.getElementById() to access the radio button component (which is a list component). You can look at the generated HTML for how the component and its ID look like.
    However, what is the usecase that you cannot handle in native JSF ?

  • How can I change the value used in a Criteria Rule in a Subscription agent

    Dear mobile heroes.... How can I change the value used in a Criteria Rule in a Subscription agent in a quality environment? (CRM 70 SP04).
    I have built a subscription agent in dev, which uses a static where clause to filter activity_object on VKORG. I need to filter on a different VKORG value in the quality environment, but when I change the value of the sales org, the change is not saved. I have tried this even non 'activated'  subscription agents, but it still does not appear possible to change and save the changes.
    This poses a big problem because the VKORG value I want to use does not even exist in the dev environment, so I could not even rebuild in dev and transport the new agent to quality. Can anyone help me?

    Too old to care now.

  • Change Data Entry Template variable values using javascript

    Content ServerIs there a way to change the Data Entry Template's text/Integer variable values using javascript?

    I believe you're asking if you can change the value of a content item's property using Javascript (a content item is created from a data entry template, which defines the set of properties).
    Unfortunately there is not a way to permanently change it in the content item, since Javascript is executed client-side rather than on the server. However, if you're just interested in how the value is displayed in the published HTML, you could modify the presentation template to store the property value into a Javascript variable and then manipulate it to be displayed in whatever manner you wish.

    I've created a fillable form from a Word document, but how do I save and re-use a a fillable form once I have created it? It is a form I will use for multiple medical patients, printing out the filled in form to put in paper chart (no need to save filled out form), and then fill blank form again for another patient? - I just got acrobat X

    Thanks!
    That should also save the blank form for future re-use, right.?
    Can I also file the blank form in the file system, and then retrieve it as a blank form when I have a next patient need for it?

  • How to do SAVE AS DRAFT using java mail api

    Hello,

    thanks

    Hello,
    I want to know how to do SAVE AS DRAFT using Java
    mail Api.
    thanksI don't think you can. That sounds like a feature of a mail client app itself. The Java mail API is for when you're ready to actually send the thing. Saving drafts is storing them somewhere like you would any other data; nothing to do with the mail API.

  • How to get STPOV structure values using BOM number and Plant number

    hello All,
    could you please help me out
    'How to get  STPOV structure values using BOM number and Plant number'
    is there any function module where can i give input as bom and plant number .
    waiting for your response.
    regards
    srinivas

    I did a quick where-used lookup in SE11 on the structure STPOV in function module interfaces and came up with the following:
    Function Module                             Short Description
    CK_F_TOTALCOST_COMPUTE
    CS_ALT_SELECT_COUPLED_PRODUCT
    CS_WHERE_USED_CLA                Bills of material; class use
    CS_WHERE_USED_CLA_ANY        Bills of material; direct class use or via other class
    CS_WHERE_USED_CLA_VIA_CLA        Bills of material; class use via classes
    CS_WHERE_USED_COP
    CS_WHERE_USED_DOC                Bills of material; document use
    CS_WHERE_USED_DOC_ANY:Bills of material; direct and (indirectly) document use via
    CS_WHERE_USED_DOC_VIA_CLA        Bills of material; document use via classes
    CS_WHERE_USED_KNO                Bills of material; use object dependency
    CS_WHERE_USED_MAT                Bills of material; where-used list
    CS_WHERE_USED_MAT_ANY:Bills of material; where-used list as article or class item
    CS_WHERE_USED_MAT_VIA_CLA        Bills of material; where-used list via classes
    EXIT_SAPMC29M_001                BOM; Article Where-Used List
    It appears that this structure is primarily used for where-used look-ups for components within the BOM.  I don't know if any of these are what you're in need of.
    Hope this helps,

  • How to set a form element value using javascript?

    Hello,
    I have been using the following two functions in AS 9.0.2 to set form values in javascript and it works correctly. However, the same code does not work in AS 10.1.2.0.2. Would appreciate if someone could let me know how to set form elements using Javascript(onchange of a field).
    function set_item_value(p_field_name, p_value)
    var v_index, v_full_name;
    for(v_index=0; v_index<document.forms[0].length; v_index++)
    v_full_name = document.forms[0].elements[v_index].name.split
    if (v_full_name[2] == p_field_name)
    document.forms[0].elements[v_index].value = p_value;
    function get_item_value(p_field_name)
    var v_index, v_full_name, v_return="";
    for(v_index=0; v_index<document.forms[0].length; v_index++)
    v_full_name = document.forms[0].elements[v_index].name.split
    if(v_full_name[2] == p_field_name)
    if(document.forms[0].elements[v_index].type != "radio")
    v_return = document.forms[0].elements[v_index].value;
    else
    if(document.forms[0].elements[v_index].checked)
    v_return = document.forms[0].elements[v_index].value;
    if(v_return == " ")
    v_return = "";
    return v_return;
    Thanks

    This is not the best way to write JavaScript in Portal environment!
    You can't be sure that a form is the first in the html source!
    In Portal you change the order of your portlets, and also you can have several instances of the same portlet on the same page!!!
    You should use qualified form and field names!
    Please check the following JPDK methods:
    UrlUtils.htmlFormName
    HttpPortletRendererUtil.portletParameter
