How do I share music with my husband who has his own Ipod without deleting his music and so he can view his music too on my itunes?
He has music on his Ipod but his computer broke. So he wants to use my mac book to buy music which he signed in and we have not bought anything yet. Plus how do we see his music on it itune on my computer. I already did home sharing but nothing yet. He wants to be able to use my computer like its his to get and share music. Please help Thanks.
The best way for him to share your computer is to set him up with his own user account on your macbook. I'm not talking about iTunes account or email account, I'm talking about a login to the computer itself. Go to System Preferences -> Users and Groups and create a new user there for him. You will see your user account while you
are there. Once you have set him up with his own computer account, have him sign in and open itunes and log into the iTunes store with his own account and it won't mess with yours. You guys will be sharing the disk space on your mac so try to keep that in mind.

I have over 3000 tunes on my itunes account, can I share these with my husband - he has never set up an itunes account.
Thanks for your help.
JackyThe second link in ingo's response is key. If you husband syncs his device on the same computer, whether under the same apple I'd or not, you can share music( each pick their own based on what they want to carry around) and pictures, and apps.
Updating apps can get tricky, as they will only update to the original apple id that bought them. But music is fine.
You may need to authorize the new computer if he will be using a seperate apple id. And make sure you don't just sync everything, or one device or the other will get wiped. If you want to sync only music, they'll that to I tunes in the tab setting for that device. -
i have about 800 more songs on my nano than itunes, due to a crash. How can I get the songs onto itunes from the ipod, or at least get the new music ive gotten since the crash onto my ipod without deleting all the other songs when it syncs?
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion. Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If you have failed to bakup, then you can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod: File>Transfer Purchases -

I am trying to transfer music files from one PC to another using homeshare and although I can view the music as a shared folder I cannot initiate the "import" process. I have iTunes 11.0.1.12 on both computers so the help screenshots do not help as such
Then stop trying to use HomeShare and use one of the other options listed in the document from which your question was posted.

HT3819 Can I share my music with my wife who has a seperate Apple ID?
I just bought my wife an iPad Mini and she decided she wanted her own Apple ID so she can start managing her own music and such. Previously, she has been using my account to load her iPod with music. The problem is that I can't figure out how to get all her previously purchased music over to her new account. Is it possible? Or will she have to go back to using my account again?

Anything Downloaded with a Particular Apple ID is tied to that Apple ID and Cannot be Merged or Transferred to a Different Apple ID.

HT3819 how can i share my lbrary wth my daughter who has her own apple id?
How can I share my music library with my daughter who has her own apple id? She just got a new iphone and we set her up with her own id. problem was all of her sosngs were on my library under my apple id.
If you want to share music, apps, books etc., you need to both use the same iTunes account. many people do this and still keep their own iCloud account so they keep their own mail, calendars, contacts etc.
If you want to share photos you will need to use the same iCloud account, even a secondary account won't help with photos.. -
Share music with my husbands ipod
Hi! I hope that someone can help.
I want to be able to share my music with my husband and vice versa. We both have Ipods and we both have itunes on our computers, How can we do this without wiping out my library or his library?
Any suggestions??? We still want to keep our individual libraries intact. My husband and I share the same computer ...
In that case ...
Unfortunately, the Apple Knowledge Base article about sharing music is a bit confusing.
Basically what you and your husband both want to do in each of your Windows XP accounts is go to the iTunes Edit menu > Preferences > General tab and change the location of the iTunes Music folder to something like Documents and Settings/AllUsers/Shared Documents/Shared Music.
You then each go to the iTunes File menu > Library > Consolidate Library ... option to copy your Library contents to the new location you chose for your iTunes Music folder.
Now you have one common place for your music, videos and such and will be able to add stuff from each other's Libraries by using the File menu > Add File to Library ... option. -
I am trying to share calendars with my husband (using Google calendars). He can see my calendars, but I am having trouble seeing his. We both use iPhones. We both have company email addresses. I have had to install and uninstall my gmail info on my iPhone multiple times due to errors sending and receiving emails from my company email address on my phone. For some reason, all of my emails are getting stuck in my outbox when my gmail account is installed on my phone. When I delete it, my emails get sent automatically. This is really annoying! I would do without the gmail account, but I need to share calendars with my husband. How do I fix this?
If you have two-step verification turned on in your email account, you'll have to log in with a browser and turn it off.

how do i share content with my family without becoming responsible for payment of everybody's purchases?
with familysharing i mean, not home sharing
i have set up a familyshare for my parents and 3 siblings, all mid twenties. everybody is used to paying their own way. how do i make that continue to be the case and still keep the sharing facility open?
e.g I don't want to pay for my sisters' music purchases - half of it i don't like - but would like access to it now and then.-> Home Sharing is different than logging into the iTunes store.
You enable Home Sharing using one AppleID. Doesn't matter which you use but all devices must use the same AppleID for Home Sharing. -

A family member gave our kids their old iphone with music already loaded for them. How do we add the music to our library? It won't transfer purchases from the phone and if I sync it, the music is erased. Can someone walk me through this?
No one here will help you violate iTunes terms of service or steal music.

How do I share contacts with other users on my network
How do I share contacts with other family members?
Click on the Sharing button in Contacts. Several options:
You can also select a bunch of contacts and Export them as vCards. Deliver them to the Family members via disk, thumb drive, email, Airdrop, etc.
If you mean "share" as in Calendar sharing, then that is not possible. -
