How do I speed up/down parts of my scene?

Hi all
I'm a newbie at Premiere and try to manage the following:
I've assembled a scene with several elements and video layers. The problem is, parts of the scene are simply taking too long and I would like to speed them up. In "Video 1" and "Video 2", I have movies and the other layers are used for titles and images. Isn't it possible to somehow mark all layers (like in red in the image) and tell it "This takes 5 seconds instead of 20"? I've had a look at remapping etc. but that's probably not what I'm looking for because I would have to rearrange all titles and images according to the changed movie length. Don't know if this problem is easy to understand, sorry for my english, no native speaker here :-)
Thanks a lot, regards
Peter

If all the clips in red need speed change, them cut them all.
Then select all and rightclick to Nest.
Now you can change the speed or use timeremapping.
After you reduced the speed you will have to shorten the nest and ripple delete the gap.

  • How do you speed up a part of a video without changing the av sync?

I tried to speed up part of my video (for the chipmunk voice of course) but then throughout the rest of my video that was in real time, the av sync was completely not synchronized. Additionally, imovie did not show evidence of this problem, when I posted it to youtube the av sync was completely off! PLEASE HELP, IT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED

  • How can I slow down the playback speed of selected parts of a captivate video?

    Hi everybody,
I'm pretty new to Captivate and although it offers some great tools, there is something that I just can't get to work:
I'm creating a video tutorial about how to use a website i'm working with so I've tried using "Automatic" ("Demo" mode chosen) recording option which is recommended for this type of video. However, the video recorded has a different playback speed than the amount of time I recorded. This means that some of the slides have a quicker playback speed than the way I recorded, thereby not leaving enough time to show the given feature.
The recording mode with the most "true" playback was "Full motion". However, I would still like to be able to slow down selected parts of the video, but can only find guides on how to slow down the entire presentation.
Can you please advise me on how to slow down only selected parts of the project? If this is not possible in Captivate, please advise me on which video editing software (where you can slow down the playback speed on selected parts of the video) is compatible with Captivate 5?
    Thanks!

Thank you. Andrew Kramer's Video Copilot video, which I somehow managed to miss, was very helpful.
I had a 79 second clip which I precomposed and enabled time remapping. But I have 12 places where I need to slow down the layer. After a while, I was runing out of room to add more keyframes using the method promoted in many videos and instruction sites (grab the last two keyframes, including the end frame, and drag).
In reality, you can add keyframes wherever you like and you can adjust them however works best within the existing timeline without messing with the duration, etc.
    Much appreciated.

    Hi ..
Not enough free storage space can slow your Mac down.
Click your Apple menu icon top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac > More Info > Storage. Make sure there's at least 15% free disk space.
Freeing space on your Mac OS X startup disk
OS X Tips Where did my Disk Space go?
Check to see if the startup disk needs repairing.
Launch Disk Utility located in HD > Applications > Utillities
Select the startup disk on the left then select the First Aid tab.
Click:  Verify Disk (not Verify Disk Permissions)
If Disk Utility reports errors, restart your Mac while holding down the Command + R keys. From there you should be able to access the built in utilities in OS X Recovery to repair the startup disk.
Make sure to back up all important data first before using OS X Recovery.
Anti virus software, as well as third party Mac cleaning utilities such as MacKeeper  and CleanMyMac can also slow your Mac down.
    For Safari.
Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Relaunch Safari to test. if that doesn't help, troubleshoot Safari extensions.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.

  • How to scroll up and down in IBM client access using windows 7 on mac running bootcamp

How to scrool up and down in Client Access 5250 (AS/400 emulator) using windows 7 on Mac running boot camp. The key board does not function within the client access 5250 session?

You can also share a printer between the Mac/PC as well as files and mounted Volumes, see the Tiger articles here
    http://www.ifelix.co.uk/tech/
You may want to use Bonjour for Windows on your PC
    http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/bonjour/
Then there are VNC clients for Mac/PC that also allow you to actually control the other machine, if they aren't in the same room and you just need to check something quick that can be handy, it's kind of slow though for regular use.
The main benefit of partitioning is being able to have different versions of bootable OS on them. You can try out Leopard on a new partition, while keeping your Tiger partition intact, you can have a XP/Vista partition for parallels or BootCamp, etc... other than that drives are pretty much fast enough, having smaller partitions probably won't realize any significant speed ups over searching the whole large drive.

  • How do i create a multi part checkout form for my ecommerce checkout?

    Hey Guys,
I was following this video on creating multi-part forms: http://www.bcgurus.com/tutorials/increase-conversion-with-multi-step-web-forms
I'm trying to set this up on my checkout page (order_registration-us.html), but it seems BC does not let me do this. Upon submit, i am not sent to the step 2 form, but rather, i am given a receipt for the order. How do i setup the multi part form? Your help is greatly appreciated!

You can not do that on that form as that form is looking to process eCommerce sales.
    Better question is why?
In modern UI and UX design and methadology multi step forms are to be avoided, why do you need so many fields? IS your form one field at a time going down the website?
If that is the case then you should look to design your forms to have multiple coloulmns and be smarter. Combining first and last name fields into the FullName field for example.
Hiding the shipping fields and have a tick box and javascript to say "shipping same as billing" and so on.

  • How do I speed up the conversion of a PDF to Word using Adobe ExportPDF?

How do I speed up the conversion of a PDF to Word using Adobe ExportPDF?

Believe me, we ALL know what you are going through!
You CAN develop your slideshow directly in iDVD and you can have multiple songs (I just figured this out myself just now! LOL). I will walk you through the process.
Firstly, open a new project in iDVD.
Then press the + button (bottom left hand side) and add slideshow and a heading "My Slideshow" will show up on your iDVD screen. Then, go into your media and press photos, and drop your folder of photos into the "My Slideshow" button (if you havent put your folders into a new album in iPhoto, now is the time to do this).
Now double click on your My Slideshow button and all your photo's should come up. Down the bottom of this page you will see some options. Slide Duration, Transition etc. Again, go into your media and select audio. Go through your playlist and hold down the apple button (next to space bar left hand side) and select the songs you want to play with your slides then drag them across to the audio button (it automatically changes the slideshow to fit to audio). The only problem I can see with this is that there is considerable "dead" time between tracks which means some slides show without music. You can easily solve this by going into Garage Band and trim off the excess "dead" time at the end of each track. If you have problems with this I can talk you through that too if you would like.
Oh and I think i read somewhere that 99 photos is the maximum you can have in iPhoto?? That could be what is causing your problem. You could always break it down in to 2 separate slide shows?

  • How frequent should I shut down my PC?

    Hello,
I hope you don't mind asking this question. I just could not prevent but to know, using PC(laptop) is a part of daily life, sometimes it is more than 10 hrs need keep running a day. So lot of stress on it. Generally I am used to shut down my PC each day night before sleep and start fresh next day morning. As we all know I have some other options available like keep my PC in sleep or hibernation instead of shutdown. Now my question is what is the best way practice in order to keep my PC in good health? Should I everyday shout down and start fresh as said above or I can keep it in sleep for couple of days etc. Which is good to practice? My PC is HP 430.
    Thanks,

  • How do I speed up searching in itunes 11?

I have 90,000+ songs and it took almost 4 minutes to type the word 'the' in the search window.  How do I speed up the search because I can't browse 90k tracks.

Hello Apple.  Are you listening?  Your time has come.  As has every goliath before you and everyone after.  Its hard to be #1 as the only progress left is to become #2.
I stumbled across the solution to my question.  Uncheck 'Search Entire Library' and the search performance becomes like it was in iTunes 10.  For the most part I have returned all the settings back to what I had in 10.
I would like to ask if you changed your relationship to Gracenote?  When I rip a CD are you using the iTunes store metadata in preference to that of Gracenote?  I have seen your style guide and it is not the best in show.  Be careful as your polishers might just take all the metal away and what shine can there be after that?
I have bought everything you've offered.  I've enjoyed it and will continue.  I will likely ride the downfall with you.  Maybe even being a hold out to what comes next.  But my eyes are now looking to the horizon, to what comes next.  That lock you held on my gaze now broken, this is the start of the end for you.

  • Leopard install says it will take 24+ hours... how can I speed things up?

I encountered some issues with my previous installation of Leopard, so I decided to format, and re-install it.
I start the installation using "Erase and Install" and after the disk verifies, I start the installation. Only problem is, the installation's giving me an estimated time remaining of 26 hours.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions:
That first estimate can be very erroneous. It should quickly settle down to a more reasonable number.

  • How can I speed up PDF generation?

I am working on 2 manuals in Frame 10, unstructured. I have installed all the latest FM patches. The smaller manual is 270 pages with 200 graphics inserted by reference. It takes 2.5 hours to "Save as PDF." The larger manual is 500 pages, 250 graphics and takes 3 hours to "Save as PDF".
I have converted graphics to smaller .jpg files. I have freed up as much space on my PC as possible - it has 4GB memory and 300 GB hard drive space available, dual processor with i3 chip. I delete Temp files and reboot before creating PDF.
If I turn off graphics (Esc+v+v), the PDF is created in just a few minutes.
What else can I do to produce a complete PDF with graphics in a reasonable amount of time?

I am a lone writer working on a single PC. No network drives. I open all files in the book before creating PDF.
Many of the graphics are product photos - how to assemble, etc. I was provided with .psd and .jpg versions. Originally inserted the .psd ones, but then consultant advised us to use the .jpg instead. PDF generation is extremely long either way. Also had numerous huge .tif files that I saved to much smaller .jpg.
Manuals will be localized and printed. What type of graphics are advised in this case - for good print quality and efficient PDF generation?

Are the Frame files and/or the imported objects coming from network servers? If so, you might get a speed up by saving to manual to the local machine prior to printing, and printing to PostScript, where the .ps file is on the local machine. Then Distill separately (if you have the full Acrobat product). Distilling separately* at least frees up Frame for that part of the rendering. I have converted graphics to smaller .jpg files. From what? And I wouldn't have bet that using JPEG would help. The files may be smaller, but they still need to be filtered for export to Ps or PDF, and if they are raster, they may be subject to further processing during PDF generation based on the subsampling specified. You might try sending the objects as EPS (which requires minimal processing into Ps), and you might try making sure that raster images are already at the desired dpi, and require no further downsampling in the rendering flow.

Now I have made space on the PC, I want to download the Elements 12 part of my bundle but its proving impossible. How do I redeem the other part of the product I paid for?
