How do I use a webservice as a datasource

When creating a report I can't point to the datasource since it is coming from a webservice. How do I create a report from a webservice. I tried briefly to point to the server when developing to generate the report and then try to switch the datasource during execution when it is rendered to the correct dataset but to no avail. Any examples or directions would be appreciated.

If you have CRXI, look under the More Data sources there are Java data, lotus Domino, and WEB/IIS log file options just to mention a few.

I'm trying to use a variable as a datasource so changes are easy to make with out having to look through the entire process.
If I use SLC_ENGFC_DEV_DS as the literal value the select statement it works. If I create a string variable and set the default value to the same thing I get the error
Exception: Invalid object name 'FLUDDEPT'.

I assume you are using sql server, use the query like this :
select * from [database].[schema].[tablename];
Make sure the user (mentioned in Jboss datasource has access(to the database) as well as the required permissions (select, delete etc) for the table object.

According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to use UserGroup WebService in Sharepoint Designer 2013.
SharePoint 2013 has Nintex Workflow 2013 App, I recommend to add User to SharePoint Group Using NINTEX Workflow.
There is an article for your reference, although it is about the SharePoint 2010, it still works for SharePoint 2013.

How to generate a PDF using a webservice?

I've got the following code in a webservice that generates a PDF:

The problem is that I don't know how to pass the HttpServletResponse object (objResponse) to the WebService so I can obtain the ServletOutputStream which is needed to create the PDF form in a web browser. When I pass this object there's an error because this type of parameter is not serializable.
Can anyone help? Does anyone know how to serialize this object? Is there any other possibility to generate a PDF form using a webservice with a serializable parameter?

i need to know how to use a webservice using a deployable proxy within a portal component?
i've created the proxies and they work (with servlets).
i know how to use them in servletes (context lookup, jndi mapping, application references) but i cant find a way to use them in a portal component.. tried the context lookup way but cant figure out which jndi mapping to use.
any help?

How do I use dynamic JSP vars in a form tag with implicit sessions?

I'm using iAS 6 SP4 and 'lite' sessions w/ sticky LB on Win2K for development and need to use a dynamic variable (via an = scriptlet) to specify the URL a form tag's ACTION method posts to. The implicit URL session encoding attempts to add the hidden input tags to the form but part of it is getting cut off. If I remove the dynamic var scriptlet from the form tag it works fine. How can I use dynamic vars and implicit URL session encoding?
Here's my code sample:

Output is:

The problem I tried to solve was that I want the result from my service methods
in XML format. I thought a callback/polling was the best alternative, am I right?
Since the callback option doesn´t work I will try to poll the service.
Are there any other options for solving my problem??

How do i use home.html in the first Jboss example

how do i use home.html in the first Jboss example? i got the example to work through the command line method. i also got the CD example to work.
the documentation does not tell you how to use the home.html file. the file suggests that i can call the servlet because it has this line:

from my knowledge of servlets, i should be able to put the home.html file in the same directory that the servlet is in, and as long as a web browser can access it in that location, then this should work... right?
can someone tell me specifically what they did to get it to work? i CANNOT FIGURE OUT what the servlet URL is. my first guess would be http://localhost/servlets/InterestServlet . This doesnt work. Does anyone understand where i am coming from??
I am using ANT, and the normal install of the latest JBoss. i do not have a web server running because the JBoss server says in the console "[INFO,WebService] Starting
[INFO,WebService] Started webserver with address: null port: 8083

Calling Webservice defined in SAP R/3 in Flex builder using mx:Webservice

I am calling R/3 webservices in Flex builder using <mx:webservice> tag. but the wsdl is not accepting additional parameters like &, = ....
when I try to run this code Flex builder is generating an error

and when I remove the <b>sap-client=030&</b> and <b>=1.1</b> from the wsdl, the program gets executed, however SAP is calling client 010 as that is the default client.
I would appreciate if anyone can tell how to pass the parameter sap-client=030 in Flex.

its because of the & sign. instead use it like below it will work.
Z_SIMPLE_TEST_WS?sap-client=030&emp;wsdl=1.1
in the above line replace 'e' in emp with 'a' (amp)

Using Java Webservices provided by xRPM 4.0 in PPM 5.0

We have developed some custom WD ABAP applications in PPM 4.5 which were using Java webservices provided by xRPM 4.0 to get the UI context.

We have upgraded to PPM 5.0 and the custom webDynpro application is not able to fetch the UI context and get the portfolio GUID. I have verified that the RFC destination and Logical port required to call Java webservices is maintained as mentioned in the above document.
Are these SAP standard Java webservices available for use in PPM 5.0 ? Please let me know if we need to change the custom code to fetch the UI context in PPM 5.0

Thanks Amit for the confirmation. I am following SAP Note 0001399319 which mentions about how to develop for custom WD ABAP applications in PPM 5.0.
The example WDA component mentioned in the note is /RPM/CUSTOM_COMPONENT. I am developed a custom WD ABAP application in lines with the SAP note and still not able to get the GUID in the context.
The code written in WDDOINIT of these applications is as below,
instantiate session state class
    wd_this->mr_session_state = cl_inm_session_state=>get_instance( ).
Obtain current context from session state.
    CALL METHOD wd_this->mr_session_state->get_current_context
      IMPORTING
        es_context = wd_this->ms_context.
I am getting null in ms_context.
Please let me know if you have tried to implement an custom WDA application in PPM 5.0. Not sure what am I missing in the above scenario.

Catching Fault Messages when using a webservice

Hi all.
We are using a webservice that looks like this.
nonSAP-system <-> XI <-> SAP
A nonSAP-system asks for some information from a SAP-system. When we get an error of some kind we want to return the errormessage to the nonSAP-system so they will know what went wrong.
For first we want to try to return the errormessage generated in XI or the SAP-system and when we get that to work we want to be able to generate our own faultmessages so we specific what went wrong in the in the call.
We have looked around in the help pages and not getting a good picture on how to do this. Is there anybody who could help me out?

How to execute an internal WebService from CRM On Demand?

Hello,
I would like to know how to execute an internal WebService, for example Contact's WebService, from CRM On Demand?
I have seen in the online documentation:
"An integration event is a mechanism for triggering external processes that are based on changes (create, update, delete, associate, dissociate) to the records in Oracle CRM On Demand.
You can specify which fields on a record that you want to track. If your company wants to use workflow rules to create integration events, contact Customer Care to request support for Integration Event Administration and to specify the total size of the integration event queues that you require".
I have this option activated. In fact, I have tried to create a workflow rule to assign an integration event to call the WebService process, but I couldn't do it...

Hi, sorry for the late answer. I now understand what you are trying to do, it is an automatic approach so you will need to use integration events.
So if custom object 2 field is changed you have to generate an integration event with a workflow that triggers when modified record is saved. The event should be transfered to the queue you defined.
What you need is an external componenet e.g. java component that is running in an application server and polls every (let's say 30 seconds for events in the queue. If there is an event in the queue you will need the custom object 3 Id and the value for the field you would like to update and afterwards you can update the related customonject3 record with a ws call.
If you use java you can start the timer with a servlet lifecycle event (when application is up start the timer for polling)
