Using Java Webservices provided by xRPM 4.0 in PPM 5.0

Hi,
We have developed some custom WD ABAP applications in PPM 4.5 which were using Java webservices provided by xRPM 4.0 to get the UI context.
The details are provided in the document
https://websmp109.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/012006153200000315412008E/How_to_xRPM_custom_iView.pdf
We have upgraded to PPM 5.0 and the custom webDynpro application is not able to fetch the UI context and get the portfolio GUID. I have verified that the RFC destination and Logical port required to call Java webservices is maintained as mentioned in the above document.
Are these SAP standard Java webservices available for use in PPM 5.0 ? Please let me know if we need to change the custom code to fetch the UI context in PPM 5.0
Thanks,
Yomesh

Thanks Amit for the confirmation. I am following SAP Note 0001399319 which mentions about how to develop for custom WD ABAP applications in PPM 5.0.
The example WDA component mentioned in the note is /RPM/CUSTOM_COMPONENT. I am developed a custom WD ABAP application in lines with the SAP note and still not able to get the GUID in the context.
The code written in WDDOINIT of these applications is as below,
  instantiate session state class
    wd_this->mr_session_state = cl_inm_session_state=>get_instance( ).
Obtain current context from session state.
    CALL METHOD wd_this->mr_session_state->get_current_context
      IMPORTING
        es_context = wd_this->ms_context.
I am getting null in ms_context.
Please let me know if you have tried to implement an custom WDA application in PPM 5.0. Not sure what am I missing in the above scenario.
Thanks,
Yomesh

    Hi,
    The "square" symbol that you are referring to is probably a CRLF (Carriage Return - Life Feed) Control Character.
    This is more commonly known as a "Enter" at the end of a line / sentence.
    To clean this character from strings in Java, please use:
    String patternStr = "(?m)$^|[\\r\\n]+\\z";
    String replaceStr = " ";
    Pattern pattern = Pattern.compile(patternStr);
    Matcher matcher = pattern.matcher(inputStr);
    return matcher.replaceAll(replaceStr);
    Hope that helps.

  • Setting Multiple values in property set using java API

    Hello All,
    I want to set the properties of a profile in a property set using java API provided
    in package p13n. The property can have multiple values. When I try to add the
    property using ProfileManager.setProperty() method. But every time I do it this
    way, it replaces the earlier value of property and not added. This, I can achieve
    using portalTools but I want to use the API for user registration on the site.
    I hope the query is clear.

    You need to use java.util.ArrayList.
    First cast the existing value into ArrayList using getProperty method,
    change values in the ArrayList and then put them back with setProperty
    method.

  • Problem using VB Client with a JAVA Webservice

    Hi people!
    I'm using JDeveloper (9.0.3) to create a JAVA Webservice on OC4J container. I followed tutorial of Oracle and I got to execute my webservice, including I can invoke my methods by HTTP using HTML forms.
    I need to invoke my methods using a VB Client with MIcrosoft SOAP ToolKit. My VB code is:
    Function autenticar(login As String, senha As String)
    Dim ObjWS As New MSSOAPLib30.SoapClient30
    Dim retorno As Variant
    Call ObjWS.MSSoapInit("http://10.71.200.40:8888/iSimp-Web-Root/br.gov.anp.isimp.controleVersao.ControleVersaoEJB?WSDL")
    retorno = ObjWS.autentica(login, senha)
    autenticar = retorno
    End Function
    My webservice publish a method called autentica that receives two parameters (a login and a password) and authenticates to obtain access to my system.
    When I try to execute this function, I got this message error:
    No deserializer found to deserialize a ":login" using encoding style "http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/". [java.lang.illegalArgumentException]
    Anyone knows what is this error?

    If you could post what solved your problem that would be useful for others that run into the same issue. Thanks if possible!

    Hi Deepak,
    Could you please let us know upto which line your code is going safe. Try printing the value in the structure before you send that to the method GetUGEntity().
    I am not too sure that would be a problem. But I have faced a problem like this, wherein I tried to access a structure for which I have not allocated memory and hence got exception because of that.
    Since your JNI code seems to be error free, I got doubt on your C part. Sorry.

  • Need to use a webservice, which expects a Java Forminput class, in Apex

    Hi,
    I'm fairly new to webservices in Apex but have successfully created and used one.
    We now need to use a webservice that was created for a legacy system and expects a Java Forminput class as its second parameter.
    msg = webServ.request_Str(sessionId, frmInput); I do have some details of what the frmInput contains but my basic question to any Web Sevice and Java experts out there is can I take my form items and values and create something that looks like a Java Forminput to the Apex webservice call?
    Any hints on how to do this would be most welcome.
    Thanks,

    The '$' symbol cannot be used directly in SE91 message text. But you can create a message "Sales order does not meet the minimum net value of &" and then in the program call message like this:
    MESSAGE .... WITH '$10,000' .

    It looks like you are missing buffer.flip() after your put as otherwise the buffer position will be at 25 (not 0 as you expect).

  • How to use Delphi Client in Java WEBSERVICE

    I am building a Webservice Application. In client side I use Delphi to import WSDL from a Java Webservice Server ( literal WSDL ). By using WSDL Importer Control I successfully imported the WSDL file but when I called the impoted method the system returned an error :
    "Project sendEmail.exe raise exception class ERemotableException with message ' Unable to find a matching Operation for this remote invocation <SOAP-ENV: send xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"> </SOAP-ENV:send>.Please check your Operation Name.'
    I think when i call send method in Client side the request is sent to Webservice Server but in server side ( build in Java ) that method doesn't match with the original method ( although the method in client side is imported from Webservice Server )
    ( When I use Delphi client to invoke methods from Delphi Webservice Server ( with rpc WSDL ) the result is OK and Java client also sucessfully invoke that method from Java Webservice )
    Can you show me how i resolve this problem. Thanks

    Hi Robin,
    At some point, you can expect that the Web services frameworks will be implementing some of the plumbing related to WS-* for you. For example, you can rely on the framework to deal with WS-sec for you with the current Developer Preview of OC4J. For WS-Adressing specifically, you have to handle this in the application layer today, and there is very little the framework can do for you, other than converting the WS-Addressing SOAP header into some java object model for you. The business logic related to the use of the ws-addressing headers has to be implemented at the application level, with some handler. The same applies today for any JAX-RPC based Web services framework, including Axis. Now, if you are using some 'advance' framework like BPEL PM, they can do a lot of heavy lifting for you, under the cover.
    Hope this helps,
    Eric

  • Developing webservices using Java SE6 and Tomcat Webserver

    Hi All,
    I am trying to develop a webservice using Java SE6 Beeta SDK with Tomcat webserver. I read somewhere in the Sun site and it says JAXWS2.0 is fully packaged with JAVA SE 6 SDK? If this is correct then what are all the remining packages(jar files present in JWSDP2.0) required to develop and publish the webservice.
    I does the setup as follows.
    - Install the Java SE6 SDK Beeta available.
    - Install Tomcat 5.17 webserver.
    - Started the webserver by setting java_home as SDK6.
    I am not able to publish the webservice with this setup
    Do i need to place any other package present in JWSDP2.0 in Tomcat_home/common/lib ?
    I used the same example present in JWSDP2.0 package.
    Please guide me regarding this?
    Thanks In Advance,

    Any ideas on how this could be achieved.Have you looked at the Unofficial Web Start FAQ at the Lopica site?

  • Create a webservice using java class

    Hi,
    I have a java class (which is used to open a URL). I need to create a webservice out of this so that I can publish this. Which is the best tool to convert java to a webservice and what are the steps.

    If you are using Java 6 use JAX-WS to expose it as a webservice. See the JavaEE tutorial for more information.

  • Using Java, How can I Update, Add, Delete nodes in XML Files.

    Hi,
    I want to store the student record (like Name, Age, school name, total mark etc.,) as nodes in the XMLfile. Also I should able to Update, Add, Delete any nodes (student record) in the XML file. How can I achieve this...using Java
    I am able to read the content of the xml file using xml-parser. But my problem is
    updating the xml file.
    pls suggest some solutions or links with " example source code"
    Thanks :-)

    There are 2 kinds of XML parsers : SAX and DOM. DOM seems to suit your need. You can use JAXP APIs to add, delete or change nodes or attributes.
    http://java.sun.com/webservices/jaxp/dist/1.1/docs/tutorial/TOC.html provides contents that would satisfy most of the needs.
    To save a DOM modified XML file use java IO APIs to write to the same file from which it was read using a Document object ( doc.getNodeValue() ).

  • ORA-04030: out of process memory when using Java Stored Procedures

    Hello,
    I have a problem using Java Stored Procedures in Oracle 10g.
    My Java application performs http posts to a webservice and the response is parsed in order to populate some DB tables.
    There is a scheduled job which calls the Java Stored Procedure every x minutes.
    No matter of the 'x minutes' values - after about 160 - 200 calls I get this error:

    ORA-04030: out of process memory when trying to allocate 2097196 bytes (joxp heap,f:OldSpace)

    Can be a problem with JVM threading under Oracle ?

    The server prcess failed to allocate more memory for large objects ( in Oldspace).
    If you Google ORA-04030, you will see several recommendations to work around this.
    The Java VM in the database already has HttpClient, i don't know why you are loading the Apache HttpClient but this might not be the surce of the problem.
