    Sign jacob.jar ( Not mandatory )
       Open a DOS command prompt.
       Add [OraHome]\jdk\bin to the PATH:
          set PATH=[OraHome]\jdk\bin;%PATH%
Sign the file, and check the output for success:
          [OraHome]\forms\webutil\sign_webutil [OraHome]\forms\java\jacob.jar
[Previously this point stated that frmwebutil.jar also needed to be signed. This is no longer necessary and should not be done.]
Start Forms Builder and connect to a schema in the RDBMS used in step (4).
Open webutil.pll, do a "Compile ALL" (shift-Control-K), and generate to PLX (Control-T).
If the PLX is not generated, the Webutil.pll library would have to be attached with
full path information to all forms wishing to use WebUtil. This is NOT recommended.
    Create a new FMB.
Open webutil.olb, and Subclass (not Copy) the Webutil object to the form.
There is no need to Subclass the WebutilConfig object.
Attach the Webutil.pll Library, and remove the path.
Create a new button on a new canvas, with the code
                   show_webutil_information (TRUE);
       in a WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED trigger.
Compile the FMB to FMX, after doing a Compile-All (Shift-Control-K).
Under Edit->Preferences->Runtime in Forms Builder, click on "Reset to Default" if
the "Application Server URL" is empty.
Then append "?config=webutil" at the end, so you end up with a URL of the form
         http://server:port/forms/frmservlet?config=webutil
Compile the webutil.pll and attach it to the fmb. Compile it
    Debugging
Clear the browser cache and enable the jinitator / sun java plugin.
    For Sun Java Plugin
    Start ->Settings ->Control –Panel->Java->Advanced ->Show Java Console
    Debugging  ->Select All
Clear the plugin cache and once again access the URL. Make sure all the dlls, jar files
    are getting downloaded.

    Frm-40735 when-custom-item-event triger raised unhandled exception ora-06508
    Cause
Ported webutil to Unix . The form appears , but when a call is made to webutil
functions, it resulted in the above error .The reason was PLL was not compiled
    on unix .
    Reference
Metalink Note 418970.1 ORA-06508 When Starting Webutil
Read / Write - image file
The code was not erroring out, but the image was not getting copied in the
    image item .
    Cause
transfer.appsrv.workAreaRoot=<name of the temp directory >
transfer.appsrv.accessControl=TRUE was not specified in the webutil.cfg file
The root of the location in which WebUtil can store temporary files
    uploaded from the client.
While Writing Image file ( remember its the client to which the image
    is written to ).
    Example
    client_image.write_image_file('d:\myimg\','GIF','CTRL.MY_IMG',
    maximize_compression,     original_depth);
Then ensure that on the thin client , there exist a directory  called as "myimg" in the D drive .
One should watch out for the error in the console or the log depending on how
the logging has been set to .In case if the directory does not exist on the
client message appears that cannot create a file ...
These are the steps that occurs -
    1) WebUtil creates a working directory that is private to the user
on the applciation server using the value of transfer.appsrv.workAreaRoot
This is that <ipaddress>\<ntuser name> directory
    2) The basic forms Write Image file is used to extract a temporary copy
of the image into that  directory.
    3) The image is downloaded into the client machine and saved as the name
that you specified as the filename in the write_image_file command.
    4) The temporary copy of the image held in the workAreaRoot on the Appserver
       is cleaned up.
    4) Client_host - The  command is supposed to run the executable on the client .
But if you are trying to call an exe which is not in the path , you will not
       get any error.
Error Message while opening the fmb in the forms builder
Add jacob.jar and frmwebutil.jar  to CLASSPATH or FORMS_BUILDER_CLASSPATH ... otherwise there is an error message when opening the canvas in the new created fmb
    {code}
    hope this helps u.

How do i use my iPad2 with Apple TV?

If it's an ATV2 or 3, you can use AirPlay. AirPlay automatically becomes available when the two devices are on the same Wi-Fi network.
HOWEVER! You should be aware of that AirPlay is, in some circumstances, far inferior to VGA / HDMI-cabled solutions. Please see my posts at https://discussions.apple.com/message/18697551?ac_cid=sa123456#18697551 for more info.

  • How do i use parallel compression for 4 drum tracks in Logic pro 7.2.3 Please

how do i use parallel compression for 4 drum tracks in Logic pro 7.2.3 Please. my version is 7.2.3 and my son did his drums on 4 tracks. 2 OH's 1 Kick and 1 Snare. Were confused because we cant figure out how to do parallel compression on the older logic version 7.2.3?

I can't remember when the Aux tracks became the new buss tracks, so I'll spell this out using busses.
The way I do it, is I assign all my drum tracks to a buss, say buss 1.
Then, on buss 2, I assign it's INPUT to buss 1.
So buss 1 (all the drums) are feeding into buss 2 simultaneously.
Put a compressor on buss 2, turn the fader down all the way, then as the track is playing, bring buss 2's fader up slowly, until you hear the effect you're after.
You could also do this using sends on the 4 drum tracks, set to feed the buss with the compressor on it.
I hope I haven't forgotten anything particular to that version of Logic. See if this helps...

That is right you need atleast 2 boxes. The two servers will use the same hard disks.
The concept is an extension of OPS(Oracle Parallel Server).
Basically, you install Oracle Server Software on both the boxes, One database will be shared by both the servers. You can access your database through the Server1 or Server2. If Server1 fails then the Server2 will take over all the connections. You can add or remove any servers to and from the cluster any time you want with out impacting your production.
    They share load, reliable, scalable....

  • SAP Java lib for SOAP: is there any chance to use HTTP-compression?

We use 3rd party web service in java, they plan to use HTTP-compression to save the bandwidth. At the moment I have no idea how to turn it on in SAP Java libs for SOAP.
    Any help will be appreciated.

    Hi Kirill,
HTTP-compression is something, which occurs at the HTTP protocol level (transparent and below the SAOP protocol) and is controlled by HTTP protocol headers.
To enable HTTP-compression, you will "somehow" have to manipulate the http layer of the SAP SOAP stack.
Good starting point to look for further information is the NWDS help. Use the search topics "header compress".

How can I use an iPad with two itunes accounts?
    Hi there
My partner has a works iPad, which has her works Apps on (ones that are specifically made by her company and are NOT available in the App store).
What I want to be able to do is to ALSO have my itunes account on there so that I can put all the apps I have purchased previously from my iPhone on it.
This is so I can put on VLC player (thats already in my itunes account) so I can add videos to the iPad.
How do I do this please?
I tried it before by connecting it to my mac, but it wiped everything off the iPad completely and also deleted the data settings for using 3G.
So I want to avoid this happening again the future as it had to be sent back to her head office to be sorted again.
    Any advise please?
    Thanks

You can't. The iPad is desgined to be a 'one user' device and only really works with one apple ID at a time.
The only way would be if she, at work and with her work apple id, downloaded your apps (repurchasing them of course).
It's not meant to be a multiple user/multiple ID device.
