How do I zero-fill a field in a Presort Output file?

I am trying to zero-fill a field in my Presort address output file. For example, instead of posting ap.pc_no_abs as "1", I need to post it as "00000001"

Below are some examples of how to pad data when posting to output:
To right justify data in a character-type field:
In the Post to Output File block, place the following filter(s) to achieve your desired result:
To prepad with leading "spaces" for a total length of 10:
right(" "+alltrim(AP.Field_name), 10)
To prepad with leading "zeros" for a total length of 10:
right("0000000000"+alltrim(AP.Field_name), 10)

How do you post a unique container id to Presort output file?

I need to output a field that will post the unique container id info that matches the Container ID field (bytes 14-19) in the Mail.dat .csm file? There is no AP output field for this, but i am wondering if anyone knows how to build a filter using other AP fields.
The end result should be a number that identifies each individual container in a specific mailing with a unique number regardless of container type (i.e. pallet or sack). So if there was one pallet and one sack in the mailing and the pallet was sorted first, the pallet would be marked "P0001" and the sack would be "S0002".
The search and replace work around for this is very time consuming so if anyone has suggestions please let me know.
I logged a support case about this almost a year and a half ago and was told that an enhancement request had been made (ADAPT01346998), but as far as i know this functionality has not been added.

Bing, you are a genius! It worked like a charm. I have been struggling with this for so long and when i logged a case about it support was unable to help me...the response i got was "I checked with the programmers and they have informed me that field is not controlled by any jobfile parameter. Presort generates it internally so it is unique in the whole mail.dat set. So in a nutshell there is no ap field that we can post this information to."

How do you configure AME CS5.5 to overwrite existing output files?

How do you configure AME CS5.5 to overwrite existing output files? So far the only options I have found are to increment the output file name or fail. From the explaination of file increment I would have expected overwrite to be the alternative. We work daily with the same file(s) on an hourly basis and convert via watch folder to over a dozen file types and network mapped destinations. Re-using the same file name is critical to the final project (updating website content). Does anyone have any suggestions?

Has there been any updates on overwriting output files in CS6? This would be extremely helpful.

I am doing IDOC to File sceanrio and I am able to get the file but the problem is that I am unable to get the required tag names. Out put file is having ns0 ns1 and so on..
Eg:

Source structure is IDOC
Target structure is External Defination imported with references.
How can I get the output file with the exact namespaces and tags as imported through External Definations.

How can I modify the display field names on the output port of my bi query

Hello,
I integrate my bi query in the visual composer storyboard.
Then I click on my output port of the query and see the output fields.
The display field names are very strange.
For example:
ABZCNQMDOPWJGHS1Q5Q27090
I have never save such a field name while I create my query in the query designer.
Have somebody an idea, where I can modify my displayed field names??

Hi Thomas,
the cryptical names are the technical names of your query components. If there is no decription available (depends also on your portal language) then the technical names are displayed. Check your portal language in your user settings and then check if you have entered a description in the query designer for this language.

Smoothcam--Interlacing, field render, wavy, distorted output files

Problem: after rendering quicktime files from the Smoothcam node, files have a wavy, watery quality.
I have read through the section of the Shake manual on Interlacing--multiple times--and have tried the suggested settings for Filein, Fileout, and Globel field rendering, but still having the same problems. I have tested with multiple source quicktime files (all DV NTSC, 29.97 interlaced SD).
Using a script consisting only of a Filein, Smoothcam, Fileout, and using a Quicktime DV NTSC (even field dominance)--here's what I have interpreted to be the correct parameter settings to be, according to the manual--I am hoping someone can double check me on this:
While compositing:
Global: Fieldrendering is off (to be turned on only when ready to render). Format: DV NTSC.
Filein node: deinterlacing set to "Even (2)", under Timing: reTiming selecting Convert, which opens further parameters: then choosing both InputFrameRate and OutputFrameRate to NTSC 29.97, clicking to "on" for InputFrameInterlaced and leaving the default "off" for "OutputFrameInterlaced" (again, only keeping off this last parameter while compositing).
InputFrameDominance and OutputFrameDominance are set to even (0).
Fileout node: is set for Quicktime, Apple DV/DVCPro NTSC
When ready to render out final QT:
Two changes only: Filein: turning "on" OutputFrameInterlaced, and under Global: fieldRendering to "even (2)".
I have tried all combinations of the above, with mixed results, but can't get my finger on the proper Interlaced workflow. Please help if you see a problem with the above. If above is correct, what other parameters might be causing this?
This all came about after watching Mike (Captain) Mench's fantastic video tutorial Smoothcam (thanks Mike!). He was working with progressive video, so it didn't mention how to handle Interlacing.
Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

I just started noticing this problem myself and thought that there has to be more people having the same type of problem described above. Hopefully some other people will add to this thread.
I am doing basically exactly what you're doing, except instead of NTSC footage I am using 8-bit uncompressed 1080/60i HD footage with a field dominance of Odd. You've laid out clearly what you think you are supposed to do--and that is exactly what the manual says. When I do it step by step the way the manual says, my interlacing is screwed up. Specifically, it looks like every 3 or 4th frame is not interlaced, and when played back it just has a really unnatural feel to it, totally wiping out any picture gains I may have had by using the SmoothCam node in the first place.
I am currently trying what you have suggested, and I'll definitely make sure that I post my results. Since you wrote your last entry, have you noticed anything more specific that you can add to this conversation? I hope I can get a fix for this soon as I want to immediately start putting this SmoothCam node to work for our projects.

How to generate report in a predefined naming convention for output file

I have devloped one report in which i am getting the output as my required way.
Now I need to name my report output in WCO.PM_sto.13-06-2011 format.
where WCO is constant for all report output
PM_sto is the parameter for which the report got generated
and next part is the date of generation of the report.
Each section is connected in a '.' in between them.
Kindly let me know how can i achieve this.

If you are bursting the report,
then you have flex to change and do what you asked for, you got to do it in Bursting query.

How to write step name and playback time to an output file?

In OpenScript for Functional Test, I want to create a csv file with just the step name and the playback time for the step. I don't care to carry all the details in my report file. I see that in the Session folder, there is a csv file with all the playback results. How can I either customize this csv file or create another csv file to report only the step name and the play back time for each iteration?

I have rtf template. I am passing parameter PC_REPORT_TYPE,pd_week_ending_date in my concurrent program. In rtf header I am passing this parameters as <?PC_REPORT_TYPE?> and <?param@begin:pd_week_ending_date?><?xdofx:to_char(to_date(replace(substr($pd_week_ending_date,1,10),’/’,’-‘),’YYYY-MM-DD’),’MM/DD/YY’)?> .
I am getting the values in my report which is generated from this concurrent program. But I am not getting these values in my bursting output file which is generated from that previous concurrent program.

The same exact video played back perfecly fine 2 weeks ago. The same project too, with no changes at all. I have a Nvida card too and have made no changes to that either. Not sure everything worked a couple weeks ago. Then every once in a while I started having issues, but I could just close and reopen the project and it would be OK. Now, I can't get any vieo at all. If I double click in the monitor box the frame I am on pops up but nothing plays, I just get one frame while audio plays with no issue.

While populating the field catlog do the following thing to   avoid zeros.
wa_fieldcat-tabname = 'I_OUTPUT'.    " Curr
wa_fieldcat-fieldname = 'FWAER'.
wa_fieldcat-seltext_l = text-023.
wa_fieldcat-no_zero = 'X'.
APPEND wa_fieldcat TO i_fieldcat.
CLEAR wa_fieldcat.

I can see why that would be frustrating! Have you tried selecting Stayed Signed In underneath the Adobe ID and Password boxes when you try to log in?
What did you use to create the PDF form? If you used FormsCentral, form data is saved to your online FormsCentral account. If you have Acrobat, you can export form data as described here: Adobe Acrobat X Pro * Manage form data files

I downloaded a PDF form and open the document but cannot fill in any of the fields. With the form opened I look at File/Properties/security which shows "Filling of the form fields": Allowed.
I do not find "Typewriter" under view.

I am in a tight spot here.
Let's say I am loading data into HRP1000 {Objects Infotype}
using LSMW.
I have done the recording.
Source fields are OTYPE OBJID STEXT SHORT
Now, I am assumiing that field ITXNR in HRP1000 can be used to fill it with some legacy number.
can it be used???? Please enlighten me on this.
I would like to know how ITXNR can be filled. Should or can it be assigned any No. ranges???
Or shall I supply No.s from my excel sheet to it ; so that I will be able to extract the OBJID's generated for the legacy Numbers.
ITXNR is not there in my recording though. But it need to fill it.
Please provide me inputs. My OM migration kinda depends on this now.

Both have ITXNR.

Basically, I have first loaded data into HRP1000.
then I gave my BIW team the OBID's generated.
Based on that they gave me the flat file for Relationships Infotype.
Now they dont know how to prepare the flat file for Work schedule.
So, they are saying they will provide me with a sequence number in the excel sheet and and i should be able to give them the OBJID generated for the corresponding sequence number in the excel sheet.
Confusing!!! ya it is to me too.
Any input is appreciated.
