How do you Auto Reply / Auto Response / Vacation Reply

Hi there,
A friend asked me how to get his email to auto-reply.
The problem is, he's on a corporate network that pushes his mail, so he can't go to his desktop and change settings.
It has to be done from the phone if possible.
Someone in the discussions said it could be done but didn't give details.
Can you help?
Thanks.
Mike

Mike,
If I'm not mistaken, Auto Reply cannot be turned off or on from the iPhone.
Your friend should check with his IT department.

How do you turn off auto complete in finder?

A Google search turned up Stopping Autocomplete with "Go To Folder" Function and this thread - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2601699?threadID=2601699  Knowledge Base has a few articles on "auto complete" pertaining to certain applications.  Didn't see any articles though about it for the Finder.
Yes you are correct.  I didn't know it was a "feature."  Thank you for pointing that out.

  • How do you disable iPod Auto Update with iTunes?

How do you disable iPod Auto Update with iTunes? I know there is a key press combo that will do it but I forget which keys. Anyone?

Keep iTunes from automatically updating your iPod
    Another Easier Alternative:
While connecting the iPod to the computer, hold down the Shift + Ctrl keys in Windows (CMD + Option keys on a Mac). This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes. The iPod will then appear in the iTunes source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto-sync and then you can release the keys. This action may take between 3 and 25 seconds depending on your computer.
You can then ‘right-click‘ on the iPod icon in iTunes’ source column and select iPod Options, then check the box that says “Manually manage songs and playlists”. You can now manage your library without losing any songs on the iPod.
Note: If connecting to a different computer than the ‘iPod’s Home Computer’, iTunes will ask you if you want to update your iPod and give you an opportunity to opt out. This will not happen if you connect to the ‘Home’ computer – iTunes will auto-sync without warning!. Best to know the difference.

Try ( alt + cmd + esc ).  Gives you a menu of running applications, and a chance to "Force Quit".

  • How do you turn off auto-reply/notify in iCal?

I'm sure there's a simple answer to this because I've searched high and low and I just can't disable the auto-notify/auto-reply feature in iCal when I delete a meeting notice someone else invited me to.
What's the process for turning off this great feature (tongue in cheek)? I'm stumped.
    JimN

    A great solution here:
    http://www.nhoj.co.uk/icalreplychecker/
Install and it works a treat. You can either disable the auto-reply altogether, or have ical ask you first.
    Hope that helps!

  • How do you turn off Auto-Sync without connecting  the ipod  to PC?

My Purchased Tracks was deleted off my computer, but I still have all of them on my ipod. I have iTunes 7, so I am aware I can transfer all my purchased music from my ipod to itunes. But I know auto-sync is set up, so when I connect it to my computer, won't it automatically sync itunes with my ipod and therefore delete my purchased music on my ipod? Can I turn off auto-sync without connecting my ipod?

    A couple of ways...
Hold down the Shift + Ctrl keys when you plug in the iPod. (For a PC)
    Or...
Connect your iPod, but before it starts to sync, click that little X on the right hand side of the ITunes display at the top of the page. (Next to the "Do Not Disconnect" message.)
Then click box at bottom that says manually manage music.

    Hello, alexisryder99.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Here is an article that I would recommend going through when requesting to cancel an auto-renewing app subscription.

  • How do you turnoff the auto correct feature in messaging?

The auto correct feature in Messaging often changes what I'm typing to the wrong word.  How do I turn off that feature?  It is really annoying!!!
    Bill

Hey Bill that is pretty annoying which is why I use Swift key as my keyboard. To turn off the feature,  go to settings>language and input. To the right of "Samsung keyboard" is a gear icon. Click on that.  Then click on auto replacement. Click on the on button up at the top right and it should go to off. Let me know if that works for ya.

  • Address book: how do you turn off auto-fill?

Address book fills in with past info from existing cards in almost every field. This is surely the most unhelpful feature for a data base that typically has unique information in every field in every card. I cannot fathom how to turn it off. Help would be much appreciated.

    Sandy,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
I know that this is of little consolation to you, but the Tiger version of Address Book no longer has that annoying interface.
I know of no way to turn it off in Panther.
    ;~)

  • Three Numbers questions:how do you change the auto default background or fill color from white to another color to use in multiple succeeding operations?  what is the formula to express the ratio of two numbers as a percent?

    Numbers questioons:
-how do I change the automatic default background fill color so it stays a non white color?
-what is the formula to express the ratio of two numbers as a percentage?
-how do I create a signal formula to be sue against an entire column of data (for example, if I wanted to multiply the each cell in the column by the number 10)?
-I have created a spreadsheet in Numbers with header and rows labelled and it contains formulas as well.  I now want to create a new 'blank' of this template with same header and row names and formulas, but without the cell entries from my earlier exerciser so I can use again in the future. How do I do this?

    Hi Matt,
For short columns, the easiest method is to select the cell containing the formula, then grab the fill handle (small circle at the botom right of the selected cell) and drag down.
For long columns, use either Jerry's suggestion (copy/paste) or Insert > Fill > Fill Down.
    Copy/Paste:
Select the cell containing the formula. Copy
Select from the cell containing teh formula to the end of the column. Paste.
    Fill Down:
After entering the formula, and pressing enter...
Click on the column reference tab to select the whole column.
Command click on each cell above the one containing the formula to remove it from the selection.
When cell with the formula is the top cell in the selection, go Insert > Fill > Fill Down.
    Pick whichever is easiest.
    Regards,
    Barry
