How do you manually deactivate a transformation?

Is there a way to manually deactivate a transformation? I've looked around, tried to make a change to it, etc and haven't been able to find a way to do it. I would like to deactivate one as its no longer used but don't want to delete it should it become a valid solution later.

Manually you cannot deactivate transformation. What you can do is go to change mode, change something in transformation.
Like remove the link and map it again. Then just save and donu2019t activate. Go back. You will see not equal to symbol beside transformation.

Like the subject line says: How do you manually manage podcasts with the new iTunes?
With the previous version of iTunes, when I plugged in my iPod, I could select the iPod, select podcasts, and manually delete episodes. With the new iTunes, I can't select individual episodes when looking at my iPod through iTunes. Is my only option to Sync? If so, why is that my only option?
This question probably has a simple answer, and I'm just not seeing it.

I think I figured out a way to do what you want to do - which is the same way that I use Itunes with my Ipod. (My Itunes libary was destroyed last year so I can no longer auto synch my Ipod as I would lose thousands of songs).
Funnily enough, I discovered this new way of manually moving podcasts while trying to figure out what cpragman was trying to say (I never could - he must be smarter than me, as I couldn't get his method to work).
1. Open up your Itunes in your regular Library view. Choose Pocasts from the left hand side (either in the sidebar if you have that enabled, or from the little "radio" icon if you don't.)
2. Mouse to the podcast you want to place on your Ipod.
3. Right-click it. A long menu will pop up.
4. Move to the "Add to Playlist" option. As you hover, all your playlists will be visible. But at the very top will be the name of your Ipod itself (whatever you named it originally). Choose THAT name, and voila! That podcast will now copy to your Ipod and be easily available when you disconnect.
A nice feature of this method is that you can shift-click several podcasts at once and do the same thing, and all your selected podcasts will copy over (if you're like me and update your Ipod only every few weeks).

I want to print with black ink only and lower the resolution. How can you manually lower the resolution settings? Black ink only is no issue but I cannot lower the resolution to below the 600 that it's set for. Wasting ink! Planning on getting a non- hp printer due to ink costs.

From applications, using DRAFT printing or FAST printing will definitely reduce the resolution.

This worked for me.
I created a new photo stream for the pics I intended to share. For this project is was pictures of my parents new apartement. I needed them to be in a certain order, not in the order I took the pictures. I shared this photostream with my parents Apple ID.
Created a photo album of the images I wanted to share in a specific order in iPhotos on my Mac.
Put the pictures in the new desired order in the photo album.
Selected all the pics in the album and did a batch change of the date. I put them in 1 minute incriments.
Then selected all the images in that album and shared to the to the desired photo stream.
Seems to have worked like a charm.

I am adding a fifth computer to my LAN -- an Apple laptop. For some reason the router is not automatically assigning it an IP address.
How do you figure out what address to automatically assign?
(all the other computers have the same number but a different extension as the last number, following the last period).
This is an iBook Apple laptop. Is there a special secret to getting Apples to "talk" to Linksys wireless routers (or vice versa)? My router is a WRT54G.

is your router wrt54g v5, if it is, you should upgrade its firmware to 1.01.1 to resolve the problem. If not, try going to system preferences >> network >> tcp/ip. On ipv4, select manually and enter the following: ip address: 192.168.1.50, subnet mask: 255.255.255.0, router:192.168.1.1 and dns server: 192.168.1.1. hope this helps

How do you do this in Transform?

Let's say I have an ascending scale starting at middle C in quarter notes over two bars. Bar 1 & 2 looks like this: || C D E F | G A B C||
I cut and paste a copy of this two bar sequence next to the original and want to use the midi Transform function so that bars 3 and 4 read the exact reverse and return down to middle C like this:
||C B A G | F E D C||
(The purpose of this is to save me writing out the mirror reverse sequence of a long melody line)
How do I use Transform to do this? I have read the manual, tried selecting all notes in bar 3 & 4 and applied the option 'Reverse Position' ... but the screen blinks back at me...nada. I have tried, select only and select and operate etc etc
Maybe Logic cant do this... all comments gratefully mirrored

How do you delete/deactivate an Apple ID from an iPhone that you no longer have?

I traded in my iPhone 5 for a Samsung Galaxy S4 about a month and a half ago. My friends who still have iPhones and use iMessage are having trouble sending me messages, as it still tries to send through iMessage even though I no longer have the iPhone. I also cannot set up my visual voice mail app on my S4. I have been told that the problem is that my Apple ID is still associated with my phone number, even though I no longer use an iPhone. How do I delete or deactivate my Apple ID without having the iPhone to logout of my Apple ID?
I have gone to a support website and unregistered all my previous apple devices from my Apple ID.

HT1535 How do you manually add music to a device's playlist in iTunes 11??? YOU CAN'T!!!

I don't know what Apple was thinking with iTunes 11, this is the worst iTunes EVER. Year after year, Apple continues to ruin what used to be a great app.
In iTunes 11, your devices no longer appear on the left along side your playlists. There's now a spot in the top right corner that says the number of devices. If you click on that button you can see the devices that are connected, the ammount of free space and an eject icon but that's it. If you click on the device, you can set it up but I cannot seem to find a way to simply drag and drop a song from my music library to my iPod or more importantly to a specific playlist on my iPod. A very common thing... HOW DO I DRAG AND DROP SONGS INTO AN IPOD PLAYLIST IN ITUNES 11???
If there is no answer, how do I downgrade my iTunes to 10 or 9???

How do you apply the same transformation to multiple layers?

I've been using PS for years and never had to do this before.
I have a 3D image of a tradeshow exhibit and I want to drop in a lot of different mocks for backgrounds. The 3D is in a slight perspective and I need to transform all the mocks to fit that space.
So how do I link my backgrounds and apply the same "skew" or free transform to all of the layers?
PS version CC 14.2.1 x64

What exactly am I alt+dragging?
My mistake. I was thinking about filters and alt-dragging them to a new layer. For a transform, you most likely will want to make one master SO, apply the transformation, then make duplicates via copy from the layer flyout menu. Then you can replace the content with the other layers.

C310a How Do You Manually Set an IP Address?

Hey all.
Just got a new HP Photosmart Premium C310a and I'm trying to set it up on my home network (Verizon FIOS, Apple nodes, Alesus Access Points, hard set IP's). Alas, it only comes with WiFi.
So, I've done the following:
* Added the printers MAC address to the Access Point I'm going to connect to.
* Installed all the various Macintosh drivers/software.
* Run the WiFi set up.
At this point, according to the HP Netowrk Configuration Page, i'm all happy and connected, but according to everything else, I'm not connected. Since I do NOT run DHCP, I'm guessing that the printers 'auto' configuration is looking for IP info. So, I go to the printers front panel and navigate to Tools - Network - IP Settings. Alas, no matter what I do, it always stays on Automatic and doesn't take the IP info I enter.
How the heck to I turn off Auto IP Settings and Manually enter my IP info??
Any help would be appreciated!

You may have to enable DHCP temporarily to get the printer on the network. Then:
- Print a Network Config Page from the front of the printer. Note the printer's IP address.
- Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.
- Choose the Networking tab, then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.
- On this screen you want to set a Manual IP. You need to set an IP address outside the range that the router automatically sets (called the DHCP range). If you know what that is, set an IP outside that range but no higher than 254 (the last number in the address). If you do not know this, enter the current IP address.
- Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet (unless you know it is different, if so, use that)
- Leave the gateway and DNS blank. Click 'Apply'
Now, shut down the router and printer, start the router, wait, then start the printer.
Now you can disable DHCP and be on your way!

How do you manually manage podcasts on the Ipod?

I subscribed to a podcast on my Itunes but didn't want to Automatically Update because I had podcasts on the Ipod from another machine. I found I could click and drag the individual videos from the podcast from Itunes to the Ipod.
After that the videos showed on the big list in Itunes when I showed the list of ALL songs and videos on the Ipod. But once I ejected the Ipod and browsed the menu the videos were nowhere to be found.
I finally bit the bullet and said goodbye to my old podcast and selected "Automatic Update".... probably should've come here first. But does anybody know how this can be avoided?

Just rightclick the iPOd name in iTUnes, hit "iPod Options" and in the following window hit the sub tab named "Podcast" (Not the tab at the very top, the sub one beside musiv, video, contacts ect ect). There you can set the podcast to manual update while keeping everything else auto update like music.

Earlier versions of iTunes allowed us to drag/drop similar to how the Playlist section is still set up. This was very easy and intuitive. I do not want to synch the whole library, but now there is not an option for manually updating individual songs from the library on my Mac to my iPhone 4S.

Novice: How do you manually "move" one file above another file

Sorry if this a FAQ, I'm an iTunes novice.
I have a series of MP3s that need to stay/be played in sequence. Changing/renaming them will be a royal pain.
The filenames are numeric, e.g.:
1009x09
1009x10
1011x11
The problem I have as I'm "Importing" them from the original MP3 CDs is that the file named "1010x10" keeps getting appended to the bottom of the list, rather than staying in sequence. This (so far) is the only file this is happening to.
How can I "force it/move it" to stay in sequence?

First, put them in a playlist.
Make sure there is a little triangle in the space at the top of the number column. If not, click that spot to get the triangle.
Now just grab any track you want and move it (by click and drag) up or down to where you want.
