How does the VideoDisplay component select between live streams?

I am passing to the source property of a VideoDisplay component a DynamicStreamingVideoSource object with 3 different dynamic live stream items, described by this XML, for your consideration:
   <video src="rtmp://88.87.56.214:1935/live/fashiontv_tmo_h.stream" system-bitrate="19200"/>
   <video src="rtmp://88.87.56.214:1935/live/fashiontv_tmo_m.stream" system-bitrate="9000"/>
   <video src="rtmp://88.87.56.214:1935/live/fashiontv_tmo_l.stream" system-bitrate="3600"/>
But the player then runs the stream with the lowest bitrate, out of those 3. Wasn't it supposed to go for the stream with the highest bitrate, that is viewable by the end-user? All 3 streams have been individually tested and they are all viewable.
There is a matter of the initialIndex property of the DynamicStreamingVideoSource class, that acts as a preferred first attempted stream index to play. But:
This is set to 0 by default, even if there is no actual 'preferred' initial index.
The streams are sorted internally by the VideoDisplay class, from lowest bitrate to highest; should we use an initialIndex value equal to the number of streams MINUS 1, so as to ask for the highest bitrate first? What happens if that is not viewable, what stream will it try then?
Due to stream sorting, the value for the initial index may be misleading if the streams had initially been given in a different order, e.g. from highest bitrate to lowest
All in all, the VideoDisplay component and its multi-bitrate support are sadly just briefly described throughout doc pages. Anyone with anything to contribute on the matter is very welcome.
Thanks,
Liviu

How does the communication will happened between SOA-Composer(where DVM file resides) and EM console (Where composite resides)?
And also i would like to how A business rule(Which will be resides in SOA_COMPOSER) will be communicated to Soa Composite(Resides in EM Console)?

whenever you deploy a new composite it gets stored in the MDS data
store, i.e. the metadata service and not the dehydration store (the
    SOAINFRA database).
Composer works directly with the MDS schema.
EM reads the same schema (MDS) to see what composite are deployed on the
    partitions.
All runtime instance data is stored in the SOAINFRA database.
    Hope this helps,

  • How does the Autodiscover service select EWS URLs to present to clients?

    I have two DAGs.
DAG1 has three members, two in DataCenterA and one in DataCenterB.  DataCenter A and B are in the same AD site, SITEA.
DAG2 has  two members.  The primary member is in DataCenter C (different AD site, SITEB) located overseas and the second member is located in DataCenter B with the other DAG1 members and thus shares an AD site membership (SITEA) with them.
DAG1 members are configured with the same external URLs for Exchange Web Services.  We'll call it ews1.company.com.
DAG2 members are configured with the same external URLS for EWS.  We'll call it ews2.company.com.
This is where they funny business starts.
Our public Autodiscover URL is configured to point to one of the DAG members in DAG1.  So I would expect it to return all external EWS URLs (UM, ECP, OAB, EWS) for one of those servers in that DAG.  In this case, ews1.company.com/EWS/Exchange.asmx,
    etc.
However it seems to also randomly return external EWS ULRs that are configured for the CAS members in DAG2 also which is not what we want.  I don't want external users getting sent to our overseas CAS for web services.
My questions are, is this happening because I have one DAG member in DAG2 in the same AD site (SITEA) as the other DAG members in DAG1?  Either way, how can I control which EWS external URLs get returned to the client so they are always for SITEA.
    Thanks!

What are you using for a load balancer? Whatever CAS Role nodes are in the load balancing pool will be what users connect to based on the URLs.
If you have a DAG2 node in the same AD site as DAG1 CAS roles, then yes it can be returned to the client. In that case, set the URLs on that server to the ews1.company URLs or remove it from that site definition.

  • How does the CBO calculate the selectivity for range predicates on ROWID ?

    Hi all,
I'm wondering how the CBO estimate the selectivity for range predicates based on ROWID columns.
For example, for the following query the CBO estimates there's going to be 35004 rows returned instead of 7:

TABLE ACCESS BY ROWID RANGE| INTSFI  For every row access from INTSFI - it fetches a record from INDEX UNIQUE SCAN | PURMAR1
    If we check A-rows = 9226
9226 * 7 = 64582 request across the table - perhaps with hint of rowid it fetches exact rows from PURMAR1
in this case i think going for hash join with ordered hints (jonathan as you suggest go for leading hint's instead of ordered) - from INTSFI - PURMAR1 - instead of going for IN clause would get the rows that satifies the ("P"."NUPUR"=1 AND "I"."COMAR"="P"."COMAR")

To add to sig's reply, "calibrating" does not calibrate Lithiu-Ion batteries, it calibrates the charge reporting circuitry.  If you look at the effect of deep discharging Lithium-Ion batteries in the data from the independent test group, Battery University, you will see that doing so shortens the life of the battery significantly. It looks like an optimum balance between use and life is at a discharge level of 50%.

  • How does the Mac App Store work?!

Hey guys i recently posted this quesiton in a different area of the community but instead of being helped was just ridiculed for posting in the wrong place... +1 for helpfulness guys :/ lol Anyways... ive been told to ask in the development section.. I have a $9.99 app and it was sitting at 10th place in the top grossing apps a few weeks ago on the UK app store, now I noticed in the morning that it was ahead of an app which was 49.99 so i presumed that I must have sold at least 5 or 6 to be ahead of him (my idea of top grossing is quantity x price) but when itunesconnect released their reports in the afternoon it turned out that i'd only sold 1 copy.. so what im asking is basically how does the top grossing section work? and how regularly does it update? is it live? daily? etc
    Thanks in advance!

Your rank is better than the other app because you've made a sale while they've made none. When you make a sale, you jump in the charts, and after that you slowly go down if you don't make another sale. In other words, the bottom of the charts has many apps that didn't make any sale recently. I've also noticed that if you make some sales in other countries than the current chart, that'll very slightly improve your rank.

  • How does the original iPad mini perform on iOS 8?

I have been thinking about getting a new iPad from the iPad 2. I know the original iPad mini and the iPad 2 have similar specs, but the real upgrade I get from it is the wireless technology and the ability to use Handoff. Overall, how does the original iPad mini handle iOS 8? Should I go with that iPad or get the iPad mini 2? I wouldn't get the iPad mini 3 because I don't think Touch ID is necessary for what I want to do on an iPad.
Overall, I am wondering how iOS 8 performs on the original iPad mini so it can help me choose between the original or the iPad mini 2. Thanks in advance for your input!

Get the mini 2 when the prices come down. The mini 2 is baically a smaller iPad Air. The improvements over the mini are well worth the money.

    Dear all,
With the document "[https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/f078394a-4469-2910-c4bf-853c75674694|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/f078394a-4469-2910-c4bf-853c75674694]" there is an excellent place to read about SAP RFCs (remote function calls).
Pages 94 to 96 describe in detail how tFRC (transactional RFC) works.
However, there is still something unclear for me with the following sentence on page 94:
"The truly exciting part happens when the program
issues a COMMIT WORK command. The recorded calls
are executed asynchronously in a special set of tRFC
processing sessions created for each transaction ID..."
Maybe someone can answer the following questions:
    a) what does exactly trigger and execute the tRFC?
    b) is it the ABAP runtime system itself, spawning the additional task in DIA?
    c) if multiple tRFC LUWs have been recorded, they are all executed in parallel by this procedure!?
    d) does the execution try to utilize all available DIA processes?
    e) how do the rdisp/rfc_... parameter come into the game?
are they evaluated? We have seen all DIA occupied by the tRFCs executed!
    Best regards,
    Peter
P.S.: if someone has answers to these ones, more related to error handling, would be great as well
    f) the jobs ARFC*, do they also use parallel processing?
or is every ARFC* job responsible only for one single LUW?
(note https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/366807 did not give a perfect answer)
    g) and how does the report RSARFCEX work compared to immediate execution?

    That's the problem, it won't.

This piece of code looks at the SPDatabase's connection string (the SQL alias, for example) and executes a T-SQL query looking for that name within SQL Server. Since the SQL alias does not exist within the SQL Server's configuration, it will return a null
value, and you won't be able to set up the AG config using the AG cmdlets.
Also, since mobility exists by the very nature of using an AG Listener, using a SQL Alias is redundant.

"The Context is created by the Adapter, regardless of any Pipeline or Pipeline Component.  It has nothing to do with PassThrough vs. XmlReceive, although XmlReceive will write Promoted Properties to the existing Context,
    as can any other Component."
yeah yeah, adapter does create some properties in context. You are right, i am aware of it. I just missed to explain it clearly. what i meant is addition of context properties will not happen if pass thru used. Thanks its clear.
"No.  The Context already exists on the Message when it comes from the MessageBox and
is equally available to any Component in any Stage.  The Context that hits the Pipeline is whatever was last Persisted, either by a Receive Port or Orchestration.  It is not created by the XmlAssembler (XmlTransmit)"
You are right , the context already exists on the message while it leaves the receive port, and once it persists
to message box the context and message context gets stored in messages in relative tables.
Now as you said the components get the message from the last persistence, assume i have a send port(with passthru)
subscriber and a orchestration subsrciber for this message.
Orchestration gets the message with context right!!
if the send sendport(with passthru) also gets message along with context, then where is this context removed/demoted
while sending it out?.  i guess as per SAAkhlaq said,
here sendport(with passthru) should get a pure message without context as passthru used.
or is it that ultimately send adapter removes the context completely?
or is it something like biztalk run time load the context from database into cache and both orchestration and send port gets pure message, and if needed they use context from cache???
sorry i may be troubling you, but i am confused. i hope i am not creating any nuisance with this
    post.

  • How does the LCM rollback feature work in theory?

    Hi
How does the LCM rollback feature work in theory?
    Let's say
    1. I've Webi report 'x' in QA system
    2. I promote a modified version of webi report 'x' from DEV to QA using LCM. So now I've 'x1' in QA.
    3. I "rollback" this promotion job in LCM. Which means I've get back 'x' in QA system.
So does this mean that LCM kept a "backup" copy of 'x' in QA (CMS+filestore file backup) before overwriting with the promoted 'x1' from DEV?
If yes, does it clear the 'x' anytime from QA? (maybe after second iteration of 'x2'?)
    Thanks
