How Execute a Query again in BI 7.0

Hi guys i have a very uncommon problem...i`ve using BI3.5 and i know when you execute a query in web theres a button for see the filters image in order to execute again the query ....but in BI7.0 i cant find it....i try to execute again using the web link but is not a very regular procedure ....
I hope somebody could help me with this...

Oscar,
You will have the option to see the variables which you have applied at that run time, either you can see in the information tab if you are running the query in portal. If at all you are running the same query in Web(I mean if it is a WAD report), then you need to have a web item to display the information of the same.

Can I stop a report from Re-executing the query when I go back to that page

I have a report that has a complicated query and looks at a lot of information to display the results. This query then links of to show details of individual items that were displayed in the result. But when I hit the back button on the browser, it executes the query again and it takes a while for the page to load.
Is there any way to stop this and only execute the query when the User pushes a Button on the page else display the previous results.

Another alternative is to make that detail link open in a popup window using
javascript:popupURL(...);This way, the complicated report page is always visible.

You can do this by having current Database connection your application is using like this

Central Management server - executed a query but how to send the query output in the form of mail?

i have used CMS in SQL 2008 R2. i have added couple of servers in its group. i have executed a query & i need to send the query output in the form of email.
basically query is checking the rows count from couple of user tables in servers.
issue here is how to copy the data that is used by CMS? i need to work on automate the rows count in difft user table in db servers

How can I execute a query from a BSP application?
I´m trying to execute a Query from intranet. I´ve been looking for examples, but the templates I´ve found doesn´t help me.
does anybody has an example?

design it first with one page
page will have layout and Event handlers
Design the layout with the fields
in the event handler there are events
in the event On Initiailization or ON inputprocessing write the select query similar to what we write in routine ABAp and fetch the data into ITAB and that has to be passed to the Layout

When creating BSP applications, note the browser dependencies described in Note 598860.
steps:
1) start the transaction RZ10.
2) now u u have to select Profile name, so select the INSTANCE Profile from the list of options given with the Profile parameter list.U may find multiple instance profile in the list, so select the profile in which ur server name is given.
3) u will also find three options in the same window.
Administrator data, Basic Maintenance, and Extended Maintenance. So select the last one from that.
4) Now click on change button.
5) here u will find parameter icm/host_name_full, so now set it as FQDN.
6) Now copy ur settings with new version number.
7) Activate that version.
8) And now please restart ur WAS.
So this will set ur FQDN, and also don't forget to login using Admin User.
Now u also check for following service are active in your ICF setting or not,( just start transaction code SICF)

You first need to add new SQL DB connection then you need execute connection from code behind.

You cant use Javascript itself for queries
The query will be done in your java code .
Easiest soloution is to simply submityour page and have it display the exist warning as response.
More complex answer is to use XMlHttprequest to do the query in the background and have it eventually display the warning

From this we can come to the conclusion that, whether to use one index or not by oracle
would also depend on the data which is present in the table. This has to be this way as
we see in the bind peeking, if oracle sticks to only one plan, say only use the full table
scan, it would be a performance hit when it searches for the second query ie where object_name
='emp';

If we have a query like below.
select * from emp
where upper(ename) = upper(:p_ename);
Evenif we have the index on ename column, oracle wouldn't be able to use the index, as there is a function in the predicate column. If you need oracle to use the index, we need to create a function based index as below.
Create index idx_ename on emp(upper(ename));

How to execute a query than open a popup?

We created a custom OA module. This module has buttons on it. Those buttons generates events. Depending on each event, I should execute a query, transform the result in a xml than open a popup and pass the xml content to the jsp page that was opened.
what have I done so far:
- Threat the events generated by the buttons - That is being done on the processFormRequest in the CO;
- The CO has to call a AM method to execute a query. That is not done but it is easy to do it;
- The "resultset" of the query has to be transformed to a xml. If some one can give me a clue how to do it would be nice;
- Finally, in the CO with the xml, open a popup passing the xml. How can this be done?.

You can get the VO resultset as XML using writeXML method in VOImpl.- Finally, in the CO with the xml, open a popup passing the xml. How can this be done?.
Is the new page being opened a OAF page ? if yes then you can just retain the AM when you go to the new page and you will have the VO with the data in it, you can then use the VO as is or write the XML from the VO data.If , on the other hand, your new page is not a OAF page and is a simple jsp, then
I dont think it is a good idea to pass the entire resultset as a XML to the target page, instead, you can just popup the page on press of the button and execute and generate the XML in the target page.

When u execute the query...It will fetch the Global filters data first ....means filters on Default values....then restrictions on Char Restriction pannnel....Then calculate the RKF and CKF,s....Conditions and Exeptions etc.......

How to check all rows and colums runtime executing BW query

Hi Guys,
I have a BW query with many calculated key figures. while execute this query the performance is really bad/slow. I need to know in which object the query is taking long time, is there any table or anything to get this information. I have looked all the query perfomation stuffs, everything looks good, just want to figure out what is making OLAP runtime longer.

Hi Krish,
You can not check the time taken by any particular key figure/ characteristics.
However, if you really want to reduce the time, you can create aggregates proposed by SAP based on your query.
First go to RSRT, place your query and click on "Execute + Debug".
Then select "Display Aggregate Found" under Aggs and "Display Statistics Data" under Others in the "Debug Options".
Now it will show you how you should create your aggregate based on different objects so that the total query execution time will be less.
Also after clicking on BACK button you can check the time taken by each event during Query execution.

Curently I have a case where I need to execute the query from some other block. I used
l_curr_item VARCHAR2(62) := :SYSTEM.CURSOR_ITEM;
Go_Block ('BLOCK2');
Execute_Query;
Go_Item(l_curr_item);
This works fine , but as I am using Go_Block it does some other activities related to that block, which I dont want them to get executed.
So can any one please suggest me how I can call the query alone without using the Go_Block .

you can set global variable and filter for this variable in the triggers of blocks the actions then you avoid the code of trigger and you can use go_block

I'm a fan of Java code, I really am.
But when you use ADF, you decided to move to a more declarative environment.
So why not do it declarative, the adf way?
In your pagedef insert a action binding.
This can be anything, a call to the application module, a call on the iterator(Like executeWithparams, etc.)
Create an invokeAction in your pagedef and set the condition.
This example refreshes(Action 2 is execute query) the data.
First the method binding:
    <action IterBinding="PersoonIterator" id="Execute" InstanceName="LSAppModuleDataControl.Persoon"
            DataControl="LSAppModuleDataControl" RequiresUpdateModel="true" Action="2"/>And the invoke action
    <invokeAction Binds="Execute" id="refreshData"/>This always refreshes the data on page entry, but anything is possible, you can set condictions for the invokeAction.

Both Tod and Eric provided valid responses given the format of the queory you supplied. Howver, if you want to use dynamic sql in either way, you need to be absolutely certain that your query will always only return a single row (e.g. SELECT COUNT(*) FROM mytable), because if it retuns more than one, your procedure will break unless you have an exception handler to handle either TOO_MANY_ROWS or OTHERS.
If you want to pull in a lot of data without walking a cursor, you should look at the BULK COLLECT options.

I would test the record status of the first record in the block. If this status is 'NEW', then there is no record retrieved, so that you can exit the query mode with exit_form()
