How high of a resolution can Iphone 3G play on a TV?
I would like to buy the AV cables that connect my iphone 3g to my 37" LG 720P television. I am wondering what the video quality will look like and if buying the 50 dollar cables will be worth the purchase.
What is the maximum resolution the Iphone will put out?
Will it look good on this size TV?
Last Night i rented a movie from itunes and connected my iPhone 3G to my 40" LCD Sony and picture quality was easily as good as sky but obviously not HD level Obviously if your encoding your own movie then you need to get the settings right but straight from itunes it was perfect.
I used the AV kit that you can buy for ipod video. I had to use the dock too, when i only used the cable there was no picture for some reason!?
Defo recommend it as a way to watch movies!

Beyond disgusted with Verizon at this point. We initially contracted with Verizon because the coverage in our area was very good, as evidenced by friends with Verizon service having great signal strength. We had the pleasure of the same great coverage, but only for a short time, and within the past few months there has been an even greater and serious deterioration of signal strength. Our mobile devices rarely work beyond dropped calls or incoming mystery messages with no ringing phones. Our wireless home phone has become a joke as it is almost impossible to get a signal or receive or make a call. Messages, if they ever show up, can be delayed by hours or days. I called customer service on December 26, 2014 to report this problem and was told I'd be called back with information in 3-5 days. No one called after 10 days, so I tried again and spoke with a very apologetic rep and was told it was elevated by her supervisor and that I would be called in 3-5 days. No one called after 16 days so I again called, was apologized to, and bounced to a tech rep. Again, the big apology and a promise to be called in 1-3 days. That was a week ago, and still no call. At this point, I would like to investigate a legal process to have Verizon compensate me for the cost of supposed service, as well as full compensation for all invested costs of Verizon phones. The deteriorated service, as well as the disgraceful "customer service" is inexcusable. To whom within Verizon specifically do I address this issue as a last resort before pursuing possible legal remedy? I would have expected our service to improve, not progressively erode as it has, and certainly would've hoped Verizon to be more ethical and considerate.
Well, younggrasshopper, answering your questions might prove fruitless, but here goes. First and foremost, I was trying to be respectful and let the service reps do their job. I also know that actually speaking with a Verizon "supervisor" is a sort of myth, as on the phone anyone can become a supervisor. I am fully aware of the "as per the contract" of which you mention, but the simple fact that we did, in fact, have ample coverage, and have now lost it, would seem to be a legitimate complaint. Something has changed, Verizon is responsible for that change, and therefore should be held accountable. Regardless of the value you place on the wording of the contract, we were sold coverage that no longer exists comparable to the coverage we had at the time we executed the contract. I could analogize this a multitude of times using numerous examples and it would never be "OK".

Do you support this quality?When playing back 96kHz/24bit on an iPhone 5 or iPad Retina (3rd gen) via iTunes Home Sharing, the iOS device receives the full quality file (that is, if you have a 96kHz/24bit Apple Lossles m4a file in your iTunes which is 100 megabytes in size - an iPhone, for example, will receive the whole 100 megabyte file).
As to whether the iPhone/iPad will play the file back at full quality is a big question. I suspect the iPhone/iPad itself downscales the audio to 44kHz/16bit, but can't tell for sure, since their sound quality is not that great to begin with, so it's hard to tell judging by the quality.
When I copied the same audio file onto my Dropbox account - the Dropbox app on iPhone and iPad couldn't play it back, which, I guess, bolsters my suspicion that with iTunes Home Sharing the iPhone/iPad performs the downscaling.
P.S. I've done an IP packet trace, when testing iTunes Home Sharing, which is how I know that iPhone/iPad receives the full quality file, meaning if there is downscaling performed - it is done on the iOS device itself and not in the iTunes, from which the file is being streamed. -

I have a 2006 intel imac 4.1 with 2g of ram. I am currently running 10.5.8 and wish to upgrade the operating system. How high can I go as I would like to link it up with my newer imac, iphone and ipad...please advise and 10.5.8 is not cutting it.

How can I actually PLAY a game on my iPhone 6? When I goto the Game Center and click on games, then click on a specific game (solitaire, for example), all I get is the leaderboards, achievements and player screen. All I want to do is launch the game.

Game Center is just simply used for what you are seeing, leaderboards and stats between your friends and yourself.
To launch an app, first download it from the app store, then just tap the icon on the home screen when it is done downloading!!!

Do you mean iTunes library?
iTunes account is what you use to make iTunes purcahses.
iTunes library is what is on your computer.

No, it tells you it can only be sync'd with one iTunes library.
Simplest way is to copy the entire /Music/iTunes/ folder (thisis the iTunes library) from old computer to new computer. -

Deleting the backup only permanently deletes the backup from iCloud. It doesn't do anything to the data currently in your account or on your devices. To delete it, go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage, tap the name of the device that you want to delete the backup for, then tap Delete Backup.
You can't see anything in an iCloud backup, if that's want you're asking. You can only restore it to your device. You can, of course, see your other iCloud data. -

You can use different ID's for iTunes and iCloud.
Just delete the account in settings > iCloud and create them their own account.
if the children are minors, you wiil need to create and be responsible for each account yourself. -
Does anyone know of an e-reader app for the iphone that has text to speech capability? I have a Kindle 3G that can read whole pdf documents and books but I cannot figure out how to do it on my iphone 4.
All of the apps I have found on the App store either do not have the text to speech capability or if they have it they will only read a page at a time or simply read the text you paste into their window. I really do not understand what is so difficult about having this feature as Kindle provides it--though Amazon does not make the feature available on its iPhone 4 app.
Please help.thanks. yes i am aware of the VoiceOver feature but it is NOT the solution to my problem. as you said, it is a solution to a different set of issues. i want the text to speech ability because i there are books i need to read but do not have the time to sit down and read them and have become used to listening to them read to me either by a professional human reader or with the text to speech software on the Kindle.
I think Apple makes the best audio devices but i am really disappointed in this inexplainable shortcoming. if apple can give us siri they ought to be able to design a nice little button that i can push to turn on text to speech while i am in a document, book, magazine or webpage. clearly it is possible as apple has added the "reader" button in safari to have web pages dropped into the reader format.

I am curious as IIRC (but forgot where the article is on the Internet),
if a touch surface is wanted to be able to detect more than 1 touch point at the same time,
then that touch surface needs adding 1 more conductive(?) layer.
(e.g. 2 points -> 2 layers, and so on)
So I wonder how many these layers are on the iPhone / iPod touch / iPad or even the trackpad on every MacBook (Pro).

The phone should become available in iPhoto, and then you can import the camera roll.
