How I can open a jsp page in readonly mode

Hi, I have a problem in JSP. I want to open a jsp page in read only mode. How I can do this?

Can you explain what you mean by "open a jsp page in read only mode"? open the jsp file in an editor in read only mode? load the jsp page only once all by the server? tell web client that the response will never change?

  • How to open a JSP page from a form ??? plz help

    hi ..
    i want to know how to open a jsp page from a oracle apps form using a button .
    the requirement is that whenever we click on the button created on the form, it opens a jsp page.
    plz help me ..its urgent !! :-(

    In portlet project, to navigate between pages, you should not use the URL property to link to a page. Instead, portlets use navigation via action handling. You use the Page Navigation editor to set up links to pages; that is, the navigation editor sets the action property.
    Here is an example to hyperlink ans button to open a new page:
    # From within the IDE, create a new portlet project. This action creates the project and one page, PortletPage1.jsp.
    # Create a second portlet page, called PortletPage2.jsp, for the project.
    # Drop a Hyperlink component onto the first portlet page, PortletPage1. (You can drop the Hyperlink on the page in the Design window or on the PortletPage1 node in the Outline window.) Change the Hyperlink's text property to Next Page.
    # Drop a Button component (found in the Basic section of the Palette) onto the second portlet page, PortletPage2.
    # Open the Page Navigation Editor. It displays the two pages (PortletPage1.jsp and PortletPage2.jsp) of the application.
    # Click the PortletPage1.jsp icon in the Navigation window to expand it, and then drag a connector from hyperlink1 to PortletPage2.jsp. Change the name of the connector from case1 to Page2.
    # Click the PortletPage2.jsp icon in the Navigation window to expand it, and then drag a connector from button1 to PortletPage1.jsp. Change the name of the connector from case1 to Page1.
    # Run and deploy the portlet. The browser displays PortletPage1 and you should see the Next Page hyperlink. When you click the Next Page hyperlink, the Apache Pluto Portal server displays PortletPage2. Click the Page2 button to return to PortletPage1.

    Hi
    I am not suprised no one answered your questions, there are simply to many of them. Can I suggest you read the faq on 'how to get help quickly at - http://forums.adobe.com/thread/470404.
    Especially the section Don't which says -

    Don't post a series of questions in  a single post. Splitting them into separate threads increases your  chances of a quick answer.

    I need to install iWork 09 so I can open the many pages document files that will NOT open under the new pages 5. Mavericks will not accept an install from my iWork's 09 CD. How do I get around this?

    Hi, I'm helping StringSinger2 with this problem.
    The previously installed version is Pages 3.0.3 (the same as from iWork 08). This version (Pages 3.0.3/iWork 08) is incompatible with Pages 5.
    That is why it would be helpful to install iWork 09, which is the version between the two. It will open the older 08 files, and its saved files are readable by the new Pages5.
    SO...
    When I try to install iWorks 09 from my retail DVD the error message is "the installer is damaged". (I know the dvd is good, I installed iWorks09 to my laptop today.) Is the "installer" part of the system files? And - If that is damaged is there a patch for that?
    Many Thanks!

  • How can WLS use JSP pages in a Web Application witth just a JRE [Web Application, WAR, JSP, weblogic.jsp.pageCheckSeconds and JRE]

              How can WLS use JSP pages in a Web Application (either a .war file or a war directory structure) without a java compiler?
              I suspect either the JSP specification is flawed (i.e. it doesn't take account of servers using just a JRE), or BEA's implementation is broken.
              Production servers do not have a JDK installed. They only have a JRE. Therfore a java compiler is not present on the machine that the Web Application is deployed onto.
              On the development machine, when the server is requested to load the JSP it creates a tmpwar directory within the Web Application directory structure. This is then included in the resultant .war file thus:
              D:\war>jar -tf gmi.war
              META-INF/
              META-INF/MANIFEST.MF
              gmiService.jsp
              WEB-INF/
              WEB-INF/classes/
              WEB-INF/classes/com/
              WEB-INF/classes/com/bt/
              WEB-INF/classes/com/bt/gmi/
              WEB-INF/classes/com/bt/gmi/gmiService.class
              WEB-INF/getList.xsl
              WEB-INF/getListByConnection.xsl
              WEB-INF/getListByDistrict.xsl
              WEB-INF/getListByDistrictConnection.xsl
              WEB-INF/lib/
              WEB-INF/source/
              WEB-INF/source/build.bat
              WEB-INF/source/gmiService.java
              WEB-INF/web.xml
              WEB-INF/weblogic.xml
              tmpwar/
              tmpwar/jsp_servlet/
              tmpwar/jsp_servlet/_gmiservice.class
              tmpwar/jsp_servlet/_gmiservice.java
              When deployed on the production server with the web.xml file set to use the following values (note XML stripped):
              weblogic.jsp.pageCheckSeconds
              -1
              weblogic.jsp.precompile
              false
              weblogic.jsp.compileCommand
              javac
              weblogic.jsp.verbose
              true
              weblogic.jsp.packagePrefix
              jsp_servlet
              weblogic.jsp.keepgenerated
              false
              And in the weblogic.properties file:
              weblogic.httpd.webApp.gmi=war/gmi
              I've also tried with the .war file, but that insists on creating another tmpwar directory outside of the .war file.
              Then, although I have set pageCheckSeconds to -1 (don't check and don't recompile) ter production server still attempts to recompile the JSP's:
              Mon Sep 25 11:40:11 BST 2000:<I> <WebAppServletContext-gmi> *.jsp: init

    The default Java compiler from sun lives in the tools.jar that comes with
              the JDK. Just add that to your set of JARs which are deployed in production
              and you should be fine. No need to install the full JDK - just make the
              tools.jar available to WebLogic.

    Hello gogotutu
    In the [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/awesome-bar-find-your-bookmarks-history-and-tabs#os=win7&browser=fx17 Location bar], type [http://kb.mozillazine.org/About:config about:config ]and press '''Enter'''.
    The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page may appear. Click I'll be careful, I promise!, to continue to the about:config page.
    In the Search field, type [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Browser.link.open_newwindow browser.link.open_newwindow]
    double-click and put as a value '''1''' , click OK to save it.
    do the same with '''browser.link.open_newwindow.override.external''' , again put '''1''' as a value(it is -1 by default).
    check also, always in about:config, the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction] and put as value''' 0''' .
    thank you

    That kind of file format is based on Open XML Office 2007 & later Document File.
    You may have an application that could open the file, such as an iWorks application, or some other one. There also may be a way to save the file as something else more readily seen in another application, such as .pdf. If you have some versions of Word, it may be able to handle the file content, it could become a .doc, etc. If you have MS Office for Mac, it should be able to open or convert this.
    Some information and also an online file conversion is available from following site. I  have not tried it to see how it works, and as it would not be secure (not https:// page) consider that, too regarding content if uploaded to convert. While the converter itself may be marginal or worthless, the other free information may be helpful to know. And anything else there could be considered bait until proven otherwise. I do not know how valid the following link is, but you could search google for XLSX to Office for Mac (or Pages?) conversion information. Depends on what software your Mac has. LibreOffice or another free office-like suite could be downloaded to see if it'd handle the file format or conversion. Those site links are a search away, too. NeoOffice is another one.
    claims to convert the file to xls; has other info.

    Not sure if this helps...
    Good luck & happy computing!

    static boolean exists(String URLName){
      try {
        HttpURLConnection.setFollowRedirects(false);
        // note : you may also need
        //        HttpURLConnection.setInstanceFollowRedirects(false)
        HttpURLConnection con =
           (HttpURLConnection) new URL(URLName).openConnection();
        con.setRequestMethod("HEAD");

        // note : you may also need
        //        HttpURLConnection.setInstanceFollowRedirects(false)
        HttpURLConnection con =
           (HttpURLConnection) new URL(URLName).openConnection();
        con.setRequestMethod("HEAD");
        return (con.getResponseCode() == HttpURLConnection.HTTP_OK);
      catch (Exception e) {
           e.printStackTrace();
           return false;
    String a="http://www.google.com";
    %>
    <%= exists(a)%>and i want to see in my jsp page the result.. it means that JSP page shows
    TRUE
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi there,
    One solution is to use JavaBeans and call the methods for the JavaBean from the JSP page.
    Suppose you have a JavaBean called TestConnectionBean as follows:
    package test22;
    import java.net.HttpURLConnection;
    import java.net.URL;
    import java.net.MalformedURLException;
    import java.io.IOException;
      Set the testUrl before checking if connection exists.
    public class TestConnectionBean {
        String testUrl;
        boolean connectionExists;
        public TestConnectionBean() {
        public String getTestUrl() {
            return testUrl;
        public void setTestUrl(String testUrl) {
            this.testUrl = testUrl;
        public boolean getConnectionExists() throws IOException, MalformedURLException {
            HttpURLConnection.setFollowRedirects(false);
            // note : you may also need
            //        HttpURLConnection.setInstanceFollowRedirects(false)
            HttpURLConnection con = null;
            con = (HttpURLConnection) new URL(this.testUrl).openConnection();
            con.setRequestMethod("HEAD");
            return (con.getResponseCode() == HttpURLConnection.HTTP_OK);
        public void setConnectionExists(boolean connectionExists) {
            this.connectionExists = connectionExists;
    }Then you can create a JSP page like this:
    <%@ page contentType="text/html;charset=UTF-8" language="java" %>
    <html>
      <head><title></title></head>
      <body>
      <jsp:useBean id="testConnectionBean" class="test22.TestConnectionBean"/>
      <jsp:setProperty name="testConnectionBean" property="testUrl" value="http://www.google.com" />
      <br/><br/>
      Does the connection exist for http://www.google.com : <jsp:getProperty name="testConnectionBean" property="connectionExists"/>
      <br/><br/>
      <jsp:setProperty name="testConnectionBean" property="testUrl" value="http://www.thisURLdoesntexis.com" />
      <br/><br/>
      <%-- The following will give an exception : java.net.UnknownHostException: www.thisURLdoesntexis.com since the URL doesn't exist.
      --%>
      <%--
      Does the connection exist for http://www.thisURLdoesntexis.com : <jsp:getProperty name="testConnectionBean" property="connectionExists"/>
      --%>
      </body>
    </html>The output you see looks like:
    Does the connection exist for http://www.google.com : true
    I think it is better to handle the exceptions in the JavaBean itself, so now yyou can change the method signature of getConnectionExists , remove all exceptions from method signature but handle them with a try/catch inside the method itself.

  • Can I call JSP page from forms6i C/S?

    Hi.
    How can I call JSP page from forms6i Client/Server?
    Flavio.

    What is your problem with a host command? You can use:
    host('c:\program files\internet explorer\iexplore.exe http://server/page.jsp');
    There a disadvantage indeed: you have to close the browser before you can return to the form.

  • HOW DO I STOP MY JSP PAGE FROM INSERTING DATA IN DATABASE EACH TIME REFRESH

    ThanksSTOP SHOUTING!
    now, while displaying the form generate some random number, or take the current time in millis or whatever. Put that number in a hidden field. Insert that unique number along with the real data into the database, but before you do check if the number already exists. If it does you can be pretty sure this is a resubmit of the same data, so don't allow it. This is one way of many to prevent resubmission of existing data.
    A good way to prevent a refresh from resubmitting altogether is to do a redirect to a result page right after you deal with the POST request. When the user presses refresh then, he/she will refresh the redirect and not the form submit.

  • I just found out that Apple has ceased supporting iWeb!  I have a large (50  pages) website developed with iWeb and hosted through GoDaddy.  Is there information out there about how I can move my website pages to a supported app?

    I just visited the Apple Store to investigate a new MacBook Air.  I found out that iWeb is no longer supported!!  I currently have a MacBook Pro that is less than 2 years old, running OS10.7.5.   I have a large website that I developed using iWeb (hosted by GoDaddy).  Does anyone know how I can migrate my 50+ pages to some new app?  Is there some new app?  Or will I have to start over from scratch? Ugh!!!  Thanx.

    You can still use iWeb 3 to maintain your webiste.  Just copy the Domain.sites2 file from the your Users/Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder on your MBP to the same folder on your MacBook Air.  Also copy the iWeb application from your MBP to the Applications folder on the MBA.
    In Lion and Mountain Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
    To open your domain file in Lion or Mountain Lion or to switch between multiple domain files Cyclosaurus has provided us with the following script that you can make into an Applescript application with Script Editor. Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an application.
    do shell script "/usr/bin/defaults write com.apple.iWeb iWebDefaultsDocumentPath -boolean no"delay 1
    tell application "iWeb" to activate
    You can download an already compiled version with this link: iWeb Switch Domain.
    Just launch the application, find and select the domain file in your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder that you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.
    WARNING: iWeb Switch Domain will overwrite an existing Domain.sites2 file if you select to create a new domain in the same folder.  So rename your domain files once they've been created to something other than the default name.
    If you want to learn about potential preplacements (which have been discussed extensively at length in this forum) do a search for  "iweb replacement".
