  • What is the early termination fee for a Blackberry Tour Contract?

Okay I was searching for this on Web and in Here and got multiple answers. Far as I can tell a 2 year contract termination fee is about $175.00 and I have 9 months left on my contract. I also read you they deduct a certain amount $5.00 ? for each month of your contract that you have paid. So I guessing it would be about $100.00 + anything I owe for the Billing Cycle?

Thank you Budone for your help. We appreciate you taking the time to help our fellow VZW forum community members.
    @Paul_Deemer,
I'm sad to hear that you are considering leaving us. Is there a particular reason why you're considering canceling your service? I'll be more then happy to assist you.
Budone is correct in saying that the early termination fee is $350.00 for all Smartphones and it is decrease by $10.00 for every month you complete of the contract. The cancellation fee will deduct to a minimum of $240.00 for a 1 year contract and $120.00 for 2 year contracts. Without looking at your account I am unable to provide an exact amount for the early termination fee
Please let us know if there is anything we can do to change your mind.

  • Does anyone know how much an early termination fee would be on a basic plan with a year left on the contract?

I have a year left on my basic phone contract but we have been discussing breaking up our family plan and going elsewhere.

Oh no! Your posting hurt my feelings Amyliz67! Why do you want to leave our happy wireless family? There are options on breaking up the family plan and avoiding any termination fees. For example, you have the option to transfer your mobile number in your name. This way you can continue to enjoy great service from us and the original account does not have to incur a termination fee. If interested then please reply so we can assist.  ArnettH_VZW Follow us on Twitter @VZWSupport  If my response answered your question please click the "Correct Answer" button under my response. • How much is the termination fee for a stolen jet pack?

Mine was stolen months ago and I suspended service because. I then went to best buy where I had originally gotten it and they said they could get me a new one only to find out they weren't going to replace the stolen one, just sign me up for a brand new one..... so now i have 2 on my account and I don't need 2 I only need 1. And I cant keep the stolen one suspended so I would like to remove it but would like to know how much that will cost me.

You can pay the ETF fee or get a new one at a reduced cost without incurring any additional contract time.

  • Early termination fee for Samsung Reality?

We have a family plan and want to switch to sprint. I need to know the early termination fees. 1 phone is a samsung reality. The second phone use to be a samsung reality but was recently broke and switched to a motorola Razor (not sure if we would pay the smartphone termination fee or regular phone termination fee). both have served 16 months of their 24 month term. any info would help greatly. Thanks!

Thank you budone for your response. I appreciate your help.
    @Smartsie,
I'm sorry to hear you are considering going to Sprint. If you are still under contract the amount would depend on how much of the contract you have completed and the device you originally upgraded to when you renewed your contract. Without taking a look at your account I am unable to provide the exact early termination fee amount.

  • Early Termination Fee for Ellipsis Tablet

I have a Verizon Ellipsis Tablet that I no longer use and want to disconnect it from my service plan. Anyone know how much that will cost me??

If your contract started before November 14, 2014, the ETF is $175 minus $5 per month for each month of the contract term completed.

  • HELP!Do I need pay another $400 termination fee for iphone 4 if contract will end at September?

I have a contract of family plan, and my line is the primary line. I am eligible for upgrading at the discounted rates my contract will be ending in September 2011,and I have paid for $400 termination fee without a security number. I am wondering if I am supposed to pay for another $400 termination fee or the Verizon will just extend the return date of my termination fee( only extend mine or all of my family plan members').

Nothing will happen on the day your contract is up. You will continue on as a Verizon customer UNTIL you take action to change that. Your plan will not change, the amount you are billed will not change, nothing will change except that you will no longer be under contract.
If you initiate a port after your contract is up, whether it is 1 day, 2 weeks or 6 months, you will incur no ETF and will only be liable for the monthly billing charge for your current billing cycle AND any overages if there are any. Nothing more.
If you are near your contract end date, there is no benefit from porting out before the actual contract end date, only penalties.
Furthermore, it is unlikely your contract end date coincides with your billing date. For example, my contract end date is 12/4/2014 and my billing cycle ends on the 15th of the month. If I cancel/port my line on 12/5/2014 OR on 12/10/2014 there will be NO difference in the amount I will owe Verizon as long as I cancel/close/port my line BEFORE 12/15/2014. Keep in mind, most carriers will tell you it can take "up to 5 or so days" for a port to complete, so I would suggest accounting for those days when initiating a port. In my case, I would initiate a port by 12/9/2014 IF I were port my line to another carrier.

    Very unhappy with this service.

We're sorry to hear your unhappy with the service.  We'd love the opportunity to assist.  What exactly about the service are you unhappy with?
To answer your question; the ETF begins at $350 and decreases $10 for each month fulfilled.  As mrhelper advised it would be around $290 right now.

  • Why am i being billed an early termination fee for a device returned within the 2 weeks?

Why am I being billed for a device I returned within the two week period plus another 105 fees on top of that? This is appalling. My husband got cancer and I couldn't afford the extra devices we got on Black Friday so returned them within the two week period and are now being billed $280 in extra fees plus tax? I think this is fraudulent charges and I can get no help calling - I was sent to a disconnected number after waiting over 20 minutes.

yes I did --- it was a PROMO and the reps lied to me. I've been a customer for over 10 years and am so disgusted I think I am going to have to change carriers. I run a PR firm and have NEVER been treated with such disregard and been subject to a bait and switch. It is no wonder Verizon is being taken to task for such unfair business practices.

  • How much is the early termination fee?

I'm trying to find out how much the early termination fee is. Does anyone know how much it is or where I can find it?

I don't want to see you considering a move, Bull427. What has you searching for the termination fees? Our friend tikibar1is correct that the fee begins at $350 for smartphones and $175 for basic phones, each decreasing for each full month completed. You can see your contract by logging into My Verizon as the account owner and  selecting My Devices then View Contract End Date from the right side of the page.

  • Trade early termination fee on tablet for addition phone on the account?

When I got my single line phone I got the free tablet deal with a cell plan for the tablet.  I have absolutely no use for the tablet cell plan.  If i add a second phone to the plan can I terminate the tablet plan without having to pay the early termination fee for that tablet plan?

You can try activating a old phone on the tablet line.  That would change your bills according.  That could in turn make everything cost more tho.  What plan are you on?

  • Help With Early Termination Fee

my contract ends in february. it is a 2 line family plan with basic feature phones. i was told that the early termination fee was prorated. if i were to end my contract today, how much would the termination fee be?
and if i cancel my service and go to another provider, can i still keep my number if i ended early?

VERIZON WILL TRY TO DELETE THIS POSTING, THEY HAVE DELETED EVERY OTHER ONE I POSTED THAT TALKS ABOUT THIS SUBJECT. DON'T DELETE!
IF VERIZON DID NOTHING WRONG, WHY WOULD THEY KEEP DELETING MY POSTING??
I have the same question but I have a Droid 2 and cannot locate the early termination anyplace!
My situation has one little kicker, the plan was due to end Jan 3, 2012 (pretty soon) but the phone I supposedly purchased brand new, with a 2 year contract was a Blackberry Tour 9630 that had been refurbished from previous owner.
The Blackberry Tour was NOT new but a refurb because the rebate wouldn't process due to "already having a rebate sent out for this device". I did get the $75 eventually and all was good for about 3 weeks. Then the phone was not working right, it froze up and the trackball wouldn't work. Over the next 6 months I had been given 5 replacement Tours and all had similar issues.
Long story short, Verizon wouldn't let me get a different model Blackberry unless I paid full retail and stayed in my 2 year contract. I was so furious that this phone wasn't working and it was the only line I had, I finally went to the FCC to complain. That got their attention and I was sent on to Corporate for help.
They finally agreed to send me a different phone because I called RIM (Blackberry's Manufacturer) and was told "The Tour has been pulled from the market due to problems in the design, it's been replaced by the Blackberry Bold".
OK so the manufacturer is telling me the Tour was a dud but Verizon wanted to charge me $50 to get a Bold. I said "forget it, I'll let the FCC decide the issue". At that point they said "pick any phone you want and we'll ship it out brand new".
I decided against the Bold since it was also very new and didn't want more issues so after speaking in length with the corporate rep, I decided on a Droid 2. Great phoone, no issues until the latest update.
Here's the where I got scammed, after they sent me the Droid 2 in June , they restarted my contract from Jan 3rd to June 3. They added 5 months onto my contract.
All this for a problem I didn't cause or create in any way.
So now I've decided I can't deal with this any longer and my situation has changed so much, I cannot afford a smartphone period! I want to cancel my contract ASAP but am wondering if they can really charge me for each month since there was NO REASON to change my contract??
I can file my complaint with the FCC and let them decide what's fair. In my opinion, since I did not ever receive a new phone in the first place and did not break 5 Blackberry's in 6 months, I believe this was a horrible move on Verizons part.
If they do try to charge me for the remainder of the contract, how much is it per month for a Smartphone like the Droid 2 vs. a regular phone like the original poster asked about?
I know they do NOT want to deal with FCC complaints because I was contacted a couple days after filing. All I wanted was out of the contract because I didn't have a working phone to make calls and other things I was paying for. They weren't providing me service as stated in the contract. I never knew the FCC dealt with that end of it but they do.
Just need the costs per month to terminate so I can compose a formal complaint with accurate figures.
PS- When I call customer service, they will NOT give me an actual figure or monthly rate and it's not listed in the newest contract they sent a couple weeks after they sent the Droid 2.
    Thanks for any help!!

  • Service degradation with Mifi 2200/early termination fee

We use our Mifi to provide Internet access to my rural house that is about five miles from the nearest DSL connection. The Mifi replaced HughesNet in February 2011 -- and we've been very pleased with the service up until this month. We pretty consistently had about 2.85 - 3 Mbps download speeds. We have the 10GB plan.
On May 8 we noticed my previously decent connection is now worse than HughesNet. When we can connect and we can only connect one device at a time, it's very slow (0.06 Mbps download/0.09 Mbps upload according to Speedtest.net). We're well under our usage limit for the month.
We noticed some work going on at two local towers and waited it out.
Last Tuesday (May 22), since it appears the work on the towers is over and one of my neighbors said their Verizon cell phones were completely down for two days, I called Customer Service and worked with them and their script for two hours before the genuinely trying-to-be-helpful woman on the other end said she'd have to submit a ticket to technical support to have someone come out to my house. They would call me. I'm still waiting for that call.
Last night I took the mifi and my iPad about 25 miles down the road to see if maybe it was the mifi. On the side of the road, near a couple cell towers (don't know if they were Verizon), I was able to get 1.85 Mbps download speed. Not wonderful, but better than HughesNet on a good day.
Do I have any option to get any money back for service they are NOT providing?
Can I get any kind of break on the early termination fee if I have to cancel because Verizon is unable/unwilling to fix the problem with their tower? (I live in a sparsely populated area--so they don't have hundreds of customers screaming about it.)
What is the early termination fee for a Mifi 2200? (I've looked all over the website and am unable to find it).
    Thanks for your advice.

    Hello,
    To answer your questions:
    1. There are no options for a "refund" on your service.
    2. Yes. Call them up and mention you wish to leave for service related reasons. VZW should be leniant and atleast offer you a discount if not cover the entire fee.
    3. ETF $175.00 for these devices.  The ETF is pro-rated for each month of service you used the device.  I believe the ETF is reduced $10.00 per month.
Service related problems are hard to argue.  Either the service is good enough in your area or it is not.  Sometimes there is seasonal interferance that naturally goes away and comes back over time, its not always worth it to wait it out.  Some users are successful with antennas and amplifiers to improve the signal strength.  Conducting a site survey should give you some confidence in a decision to invest in that equiptment before you buy.

    I don't know. You'll have to ask.
FYI, if the phone was not originally sold in India, it can not be serviced in India. You will have to take it back to the country where it originated.

  • Paying termination fee and upgrading phone

My wife has an old nondata phone with a contract expiring in a few months and is willing to pay the termination fee and enter into a new 2-year contract on an IPhone 5s.  Two questions.
    1.  The manager of the Verizon store looked on his computer and insisted the termination fee would be $175.  I think it should be $175 minus $5 for each completed month of the contract, which is much less.  I know from the web site that this is the rule for a "post pay" contract, but I'm not sure what that means.  The contract is a normal two year unlimited calling contract with each month's fee paid in advance.  When I questioned the $175 termination fee, the manager said that this was what his computer said and he was not willing to discuss the issue.  Who is right?
    2.  Aside from the termination fee, when we told the manager we wanted to terminate the old contract and enter into a new one on a new phone, the manager started muttering something about how this could be prohibited "churning".  He couldn't explain what that meant, especially after I pointed out that we could just pay the termination fee and then go over to AT&T and enter into a new contract with them.  This is not desirable because we would lose the benefits of our share everything plan.  Is there a rule against terminating and upgrading in this way?  The web site does not let you do it online.

        Hey there michael1000,
The iPhone 5s is a great phone so I absolutely understand your eagerness to get your hands on one.
When you upgrade at the discounted pricing you are agreeing to a new two year agreement. If you disconnect before the agreement end date you are billed a early termination fee. The Early Termination Fee for a basic phone starts at $175 and decreases $5 for each month completed. The Early Termination Fee for a smartphone starts at $350 and decreases $10 for each month completed.
We wouldn't want you to disconnect your line, lose your number and have to start all over. Let's take a look at available options to make this as easy as possible.
When is your wife's upgrade date exactly? Dial #UPG from her cellphone to find out.
