How resize a picture?

How can I resize a picture? All my pictures have more than 1.8MB and I want to resize some of them to a smaller size (200KB or less).

Jose Frank:
You can resize the pictures via the Export process. In the File->Export->File Export menu option there is a section to set the pixel dimensions to a given size and quality level (jpeg compression). The exported file will be reduced in size considerably.
Happy Holidays
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • How resize pictures in table on PAGES 5.2?

The new version 5.2 was be optmized for import image in table, but how resize these pictures in table?

DO NOT use Pages 5.2.    Use Keynote or Numbers.  The latest versions of these apps are stable.  Pages 5.2 nothing but trouble.
Here is what I do with my art, which must be perfect for commercial printing and other purposes.
Export the page with your table and art out as a PDF.  Then bring the PDF into Adobe Illustator and make any changes you need to get the art looing exactly like what you want.  Save the art from AI ouit to PDF.  AI creates bullet proof PDF files.  Then drag the clean PDF back into Pages.
One reason AI is the preferred route is that Adobe comlpliant PDF files  are the standard in the commercial printing industry.  These days, all files going to commercial printers must be in clean PDF format.  As you would expect, there are some excellent apps for pre-flighint PDF files.
The final reason for using PDF for art is that your illustrations will move cleanly into iBook Author for iBooks and apps for creating international standard ePubs and Amazon MOBI files.

How do I resize a picture in my iPhoto library to 100 pixels?

You do this on export from iPhoto.
File -> export and note the Size option. You can decide the pixel dimensions there.

  • How to resize a picture to letterhead sized

How do i resize a picture to letter head size in cs4?

    Image>Image size.
Then in the image size dialog box type in the document size.
The quality of the print will be dependant of the original pixel dimentions. The lower the pixel dimentions are the lower the quality will be when resizing. It is prefered to have the original image be larger than the final print size when you first open the image. But upscaling can work and has but only if there is enough detail that will be satisfactory to you after you scale the image.

To illustrate my problem, I have a picture & this picture consist of one face. So, this face covers the whole screen. But what I want to do is still to have the whole face but NOT covering the whole screen as I need some other spaces to put in text (I do not want to overlay the text across the face).
    Ay ideas ?

DVD studio pro how to resize background picture? I want my photo be a background but cant find how to resize it to fit the screen.

    Hi Miron,
You are best off taking the image into Preview or Photoshop and resizing it to match your framesize. You could use a button and resize that but it is not economical or pretty.

  • How do I resize a picture on my ipod 4g before emailing it?

The manual says it asks you if you want to resize the picture when you go to email it, but mine's not giving me that option? Help!

I noticed that too. Everyone I've talked to that has the Itouch all say that when they go to email a picture, it asks them if they want to resize it, but mine doesn't. I've looked in all the control settings on mine and can't find anything related to resizing before sending. So I didn't know why mine wasn't working and asking me.

  • I need to know how to copy pictures to a cd with the captions showing, elements 8 and windows 7

I need to know how to copy
pictures to a cd with the captions showing, elements 8, windows 7

Here are some suggestions.  Perhaps others will have even better ideas.
1 -- for viewing on a Windows computer,  you can experiment with making a PSE Organizer slide show creation in which you specify to show the captions. Then save the Output of the slide show as a WMV file that the recipient could play on a computer with Windows Media Player.
If you have a DVD burner on your PC, you can also use that WMV file as input to the Windows 7 DVD Maker program for making a TV playable DVD. And if your recipient(s) who will view on a computer have DVD readers, you could make video DVDs playable on computers or TV DVD players instead of using CDs.
The limitations of this approach are that this wmv file you create is really a video file so
-- it advances photo slides at the rate specified when you create the slide show
-- the choices to save a wmv file are not very high resolution so that recipients who have high resolution monitors will not see the photo images are not getting the benefit of seeing the photos at their best
-- your recipients can't print from this video slide show
2 An entirely different approach is to
-- For each individual photo, make a copy of the photo file and depending on how high resolution your originals you might want to resize down to monitor viewing sizes.
-- Then use the PSE Editor Text Tool to place the caption on a layer above the photo. (I think that you could display the existing caption and then do a copy and paste so that you don't need to retype everything.)
-- You should save this photo copy with the text as a uniquely named JPEG file. Use the file names to control the sequence in which you want the viewer to see the photos.  (Don't save as a PSD because others probably can't read the PSD format).
-- Then use your computers CD burning software to burn a folder containing all those jpeg files with the captions to CD
This approach is a bit of work for each photo and you did not say how many photo files you will be doing. However,
-- computer users should be able to display  the jpegs as high resolution photos on their computer as well as optionally print from those photo files
-- many TV DVD players can play (display) jpg files from a CD disc which also gives recipients the opportunity to view the photos on their larger TV screen
Process 2 may seem complicated but once you get started I think it will be more of a production line.
    ADDITION
Do you have any portrait orientation photos included with those you wish to send ? If yes, we might need to discuss some additional processing for them.

  • Locally resize a picture

These characters are not of equal size. They were not evenlly space, but can be cut and paste to move. My question is: how will you locally resize a picture?

I tried it. But there are two problems.:
    1. The resize has to be done with mouse, which is imprecise.
Is it possible to enter the resize ration by hand, i.e. some pop up window to enter the value?
    2. Is it possible to keep the width/height ration fixed?
    Thanks.

  • How to make picture in picture video semi transparent?

I do know how to make picture in picture semi transparent if I import a photo instead of a video. However, if I import an video and want that video to be semi transparent at the right top cornor, I can do so with imovie? I know I can make the second video semi transparent if I use cutaway instead of picture in picture. However, I do not want the second video fill the whole screen, just the right cornor of the whole video.
Please reply if you know how to do it in imovie. Thank you

your wording confuses me ... what exactly do you want to accomplish:
a cut-away replaces video, but keeps audio - that has nothing to do with 'transparency' (??)
for sure, you can place and resize a PiP anywhere on the screen (pic#1)
or, do you mean by 'semi-transparent' keying a PiP? (pic#2) A color-key within a PiP is not optional in iMovie; although, I tested it: if your source video contains 'alpha transparency', iMovie support that either.
    https://sites.google.com/site/karstenschluter/im09-counter
or, do you want to manually change the compositing mode (pic#3)? That, indeed is not optional in iMovie.
or, did you mean by 'just a part' cropping a PiP/second layer (pic#4)? Again, not optional in iMovie, complex compositing effects are habitat of professional tools such as FCPX.

  • Good morning, i would like to know how to take pictures from iphoto and put them in a folder on desktop

Good morning: would like to know how to take pictures from my iphoto and put them in a folder on my desktop

To take photos from iPhoto and put them onto a folder on Desktop, first create a folder on Desktop. Right-click on Desktop and create a new folder.
Then, open iPhoto, and you have two ways to export photos:
    1. Select the photos you want to copy to Desktop with Command key (or go to Edit menu > Select All, if you want to copy all photos), and then, drag them to the folder on Desktop.
    2. Select the photos you want to copy to Desktop with Command key, go to File menu > Export, and follow the steps.
You can choose the one you prefer
