How run SQLJ DEMO code on JDeveloper 3.0?

I have problem runing the DEMO SQLJ codes. The codes come with the Oracle 8i for NT. I rtried to run them on Jdeveloper3.0 using JDK1.2.
I opened an empty project, and set the source path, out directory, and html path to oracle8i/sqlj/demo, which is the directory of all the demo codes. I also added the SQLJRUNTIME libraries to this project.
After I opened the SQLJ file into the project, I could run the file. I could also see that all the *.java, *.class, and *.ser files were created in the same directory. I assume that the SQLJ translator works. However, I got this error message instead of the results:
Error running the example: java.sql.SQLException: profile ExprDemo_SJProfile0 not found: java.io.InvalidClassException: [Ljava.lang.Object;; Serialization incompatible with Externalization
I am learning sqlj and JDeveloper. I appreciate any help.
Thanks.

Pam,
(from the Release notes)
Using SQLJ under JDK 1.2
The 8.1.5 SQLJ version distributed with this release of JDeveloper only supports JDK 1.1.X, it does not run under JDK 1.2. A future version of SQLJ will support JDK 1.2.
There are some more useful tips in the release notes. I'd recommend checking them out.
Also, as an FYI: The 8.1.5 JDBC and SQLJ samples can also be found under <jdev>/jdbc/samples and <jdev>/sqlj/demo respectively.

Arun

Error running the example: java.sql.SQLException: profile ExprDemo_SJProfile0 not found: java.io.InvalidClassException: [Ljava.lang.Object;; Serialization incompatible with Externalization
I did see the created *.java file and *.ser files in the directory which I set as the source directory and ot path in the Project.
So I am sure tha the translator works, but why Java cannnot find the profil?

When you go to the download section to download a SQLJ translator, you will be sent to the JDBC/SQLJ download page.
There you can get the SQLJ 8.1.6 SDK patch which you can use to update JDeveloper 3.0 (essentially, you replace the SQLJ translator.zip file with a new version). This permits SQLJ to function under JDK 1.2.
Additionally, you need to ensure that the environment under which you compile (1.1 vs. 1.2) and under which you run correspond. - Specifically, ensure that you start JDev under 1.2 and that your project also is a 1.2 project. Otherwise all sorts of strange things appear to happen (even with the patch).

how to run a .bat code?
I have a code ,batch (.bat) in richtextbox1, and want , to text(code .bat) in richtextbox1 it was launched in the console cmd
without the use of saving a file with this code and run it

In your code, right-click on the word "Desktop". In the context menu, select "go to definition". The object browser opens. You will see other members of the SpecialFolder enum. You can examine these values and read the description below.
One of them is "ProgramFiles". If you pass this value to GetFolderPath, it returns the path of the program files.
Another way: In your code, move the caret to the word "desktop" and press Ctr+J. It will open the same list of enum values. Whenever you select an item in the list, the tooltip should also show a description of the enum value.
    Then look at
System.IO.Path.Combine to combine the program files path with the sub folder path. The result will be the full path of the directory. You can call Path.Combine for every path name or file name that you want to add.

  • How to Run Reports Demo on IAS Rel.2

I have successfully installed 9ias Release 2, infrastructure and Business Intelligence and Forms on one Solaris server. I am now trying to run the demos. Forms demo runs fine, but the Reports Demo is confusing. I am presented with a screen that says test a paper report. That takes me to another page with fields to fill in - things like reports server, userid/password, report name.....I leave all the defaults as is, and am then presented with a single sign on page. I don't know what to put in there....
    Any help would be appreciated.

The "new" Reports (Oracle9i Reports or Reports 9i or whatever it is supposed to be called) seems to use a security model quite different from Developer Server/Reports 6i. At least as per default configuration. I'm not familiar with it (yet, but since we are in the process of migrating I'd guess I soon will be), but Reports seems to use/rely on Portal for user authentication mechanism.
In the Reports servlet configuration you could set SINGLESIGNON=no, then Reports Server will use its own authentication "old-style". (Two-level authentication was possible by adding "dbauth" login for reports access)
Also take a look here Survey-How much are willing to pay 50$ for a good HTML DB book
According to "OEM integration" features, you should be able to configure Reports server via the OEM "framework".

  • Can anybody run Oralce(8.1.6) demo code ?

Can anybody run Oralce(8.1.6) demo code about embedded SQL without any problem?
    It seems that I'm unlucky.
I need to write a small embedded SQL program (Window 2000 / VC++6 compiler) that can connect to the Oracle server on the LAN. So I try to begin from the demo code which provided by Oracle. Precompiler and VC++ compiler process seem OK (only adjust the precompiler's default path to the correct path which contains the head files). So I can get the exeacutable file.
But when I run the exeacutable file, error occurs! ORA-12560. protocol adapter error!
The SQL Plus works fine. The whole system is new and clean. After tracing the operation, I find that maybe the protocol I'm using is: 'beq', instead of 'TCP/IP'.
A little bit further searching in Oracle document said that I may need to install JSB driver... But it seems that no related dll files in my computer... I'm totally lost here!
Can anybody help me about it!
    Thanks a lot!!
    Charles

Is there a reason that you can't use the newer 8.1.6.2 driver? Generally, Oracle doesn't make all the older versions available for download.

  • How to run sqlj.exe to translator Sqlj file which depends other file

I want to use sqlj.exe to compile sqlj file. I don't know what option can be set for Sqlj.exe can automatically compile sqlj file and it's dependent file(sqlj or java).
    Here is one case:
    There are three six files.
    p1\A.sqlj
    p1\A1.sqlj
    p2\B.sqlj
    p3\C.java
    p3\DI.java
    p4\E.java
1.the Class A has been declared as follow:
    public class A extends C implements DI{
And in A.sqlj file, Class B and A1 will be used.
2.the class E has been declared as follow:
    public class E extends C{
I want run sqlj.exe as follow:
    sqlj -d=. A.sqlj
Does it can auto compile C.java, DI.java and A1.sqlj, B.sqlj?
We known, when java file is compiled, the dependent java file will be auto compiled,
    for example, the command,
    javac E.java
    will compile E.java and C.java.
But how sqlj.exe automatically compile dependent file.
    Thanks,

  • How to run the sample code using the sdk?

    Hi,
I want to run the jsp code from the enterprize sdk available in the sdn community. Can any one tell me how to execute these jsp sample codes and what is the pre-requisite regarding the set up.
I already have the deployment ready.
    thanks
    AMar

    Hi Amar,
To execute samples code, it is same what is required for normal J2EE application.
Make sure add all the jars to your web application.
These jars can be found on your BO server installation if windows.
    For BOE XI 3.x
    C:\Program Files\Business Objects\common\4.0\java\lib
    C:\Program Files\Business Objects\common\4.0\java\lib\external
    For BOE XI R2
    C:\Program Files\Business Objects\common\3.5\java\lib
    C:\Program Files\Business Objects\common\3.5\java\lib\external
    Thanks,

  • How to get which tables are being updated by running any transaction code

    Hi experts,
please tell me how to find which system table are being updated after running any transaction code .
please tell me the procedure to find that.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Yogesh

    Hi yogesh patil,
    for the dbtable..
goto technical settings and activate the log...
    it will tells u..
    transaction...Table history (SCU3)
    Log data changes
The logging flag defines whether changes to the data records of a table
should be logged. If logging is activated, every change (with UPDATE,
DELETE) to an existing data record by a user or an application program
is recorded in a log table in the database.
Note: Activating logging slows down accesses that change the table.
First of all, a record must be written in the log table for each change.
Secondly, many users access this log table in parallel. This could cause
lock situations even though the users are working with different
    application tables.
    Dependencies
Logging only takes place if parameter rec/client in the system profile
is set correctly. Setting the flag on its own does not cause the table
    changes to be logged.
The existing logs can be displayed with Transaction Table history (SCU3)

  • SQLJ/JDBC code compiles but doesn't run

I keep getting a fatal error in the JAVA.EXE module when I try to run an code with SQLJ/JDBC. I've got my class and classpath set up like a oracle support tech told me to do but the code still bombs.
I noticed java.exe bombs at the same address no matter what SQLJ/JDBC code I compile.
Could it be conflicting with something on

    Anyone with ideas please respond.

Can you run a non Oracle Java application. Which version of JDK are you using.. do you have multiple versions of JDK .. if so make sure there is no conflict.. You may try re-installing the JDK if your non Oracle Java application also errors out..

Not really, Oracle introduced test seuite in 10.1.3.3 which allows you to test without calling the endpoints. Probably not really what you are after but may be helpful down the track.

  • Process exited with exit code -1073741819+jdeveloper 9.0.5.1

    Hi,
I am using JDeveloper 9.0.5.1 version. When i am compiling the java file it is compiling fine. But when I am running it it is throwing the error
Process exited with exit code -1073741819.
What is that error code means........?

    Hello,
It could mean that the cause is a StackOverflowError.
It could be that you are not running against your JDeveloper 9.0.5.1
embedded OC4J, but without noticing it, you are running your program
against another OC4J which would be incompatible!
May be you are running several JDevelopers on your machine, or
having a standalone OC4J and deployed your application against
    such a different OC4J.
Try shutting down all the OC4J listeners on your machine, restart JDev
and run your java code again.
    Hope this can help you.

Could you post your sample program and what your classpath is? Most likely the oracle drivers are not in the classpath, or if running the oci driver, the shared libraries (or dlls) are not in your library path or (path).
