How SAP handles Child Idoc segment data insertion automatically
Hello,
We have some Infotypes with extra segments and IDocs are getting created with Parent and child segments.
To fill the data into the parent/child segments, we are currently using User-Exits.
Is there any settings/config in table level(e.g. T777D etc), or any other way, so that SAP handles the data filling into parent/child segments automatically.
Thanks.
No I dont want to change the value in WE19.... In runtime I am changing the value of schedule Line quantity and the same is getting update in SDSA also but when a new idoc is getting created that value is not getting reflected in that Idoc segment field.
Kindly suggest.

Hi,
Can anyone tell in which tables is the IDOC segments data is stored?
Rgds,
KanwarHi,
IDoc segment data is stored in strcuture like EDIDD.
Suppose you have created IDoc,then the function module export parameter for Idoc data is IDOC_data(defined as IDOC_DATA STRUCTURE EDIDD).
then you can access data as below.
LOOP AT IDOC_DATA.
CASE IDOC_DATA-SEGNAM.
WHEN 'E1EDP01'.
MOVE IDOC_DATA-SDATA TO E1EDP01.
***Here e1edp01 structure will give you details of ***individual field.
ENDCASE.
ENDLOOP.
Similarly you can access data for all segments.
Thanks.

How to edit inbound idoc with data errors in multiple segments and reproces
Hi friends,
i have a requirement for error handling of inbound sales order(ORDERS04) without using WORKFLOW and WE19.
i have seen some function modules like edic_* ..
but my doubt is how to edit the error data(how can i identify the particular error fileds in the segments)and how to reprocess the same idoc.
Please help me...
Thanks in advanceHi Narasimh,
Please find the following steps to edit IDOC segment after you find the error using WE02.
The example codes can be found in website
http://www.sapgenie.com/sapedi/idoc_abap.htm
STEP 1 - Open document to edit
CALL FUNCTION 'EDI_DOCUMENT_OPEN_FOR_EDIT'
EXPORTING
document_number = t_docnum
IMPORTING
idoc_control = itab_edidc
TABLES
idoc_data = itab_edidd
EXCEPTIONS
document_foreign_lock = 1
document_not_exist = 2
document_not_open = 3
status_is_unable_for_changing = 4
OTHERS = 5.
STEP 2 - Loop at itab_edidd and change data
LOOP AT itab_edidd WHERE segnam = 'E1EDKA1'.
e1edka1 = itab_edidd-sdata.
IF e1edka1-parvw = 'LF'.
e1edka1-partn = t_eikto.
itab_edidd-sdata = e1edka1.
MODIFY itab_edidd.
EXIT.
ENDIF.
ENDLOOP.
STEP 3 - Change data segments
CALL FUNCTION 'EDI_CHANGE_DATA_SEGMENTS'
TABLES
idoc_changed_data_range = itab_edidd
EXCEPTIONS
idoc_not_open = 1
data_record_not_exist = 2

STEP 3a - Change control record
CALL FUNCTION 'EDI_CHANGE_CONTROL_RECORD'
EXPORTING
idoc_changed_control = itab_edidc
EXCEPTIONS
idoc_not_open = 1
direction_change_not_allowed = 2
OTHERS = 3.
STEP 4 - Close Idoc
Update IDoc status
CLEAR t_itab_edids40.
t_itab_edids40-docnum = t_docnum.
t_itab_edids40-status = '51'.
t_itab_edids40-repid = sy-repid.

RE: How to change Idoc segment data
Hi folks,
I have a requirement where in I have a Inbound DELIN Idoc in the SAP system. When I am reprocessing the same Idoc through WE19 by changing the delivery schedule and then changing the E1EDP16-WMENG value in runtime while debugging, the same is getting updated in correponding SDSA but when the new Idoc is getting triggered, only previous old Idoc value is getting reflected.
Kindly suggest!!!!

HI All,
I need to pass a constant value for the fields in segments between 2 systems,where can i do that,there a transaction code wher we can do,plz let me know,all useful answers are rewardedHi
Data Creation in Idoc
IDocs are text encoded documents with a rigid structure that are used to exchange data between R/3 and a foreign system. Instead of calling a program in the destination system directly, the data is first packed into an IDoc and then sent to the receiving system, where it is analyzed and properly processed. Therefore an IDoc data exchange is always an
asynchronous process. The significant difference between simple RFC-calls and IDoc data exchange is the fact, that every action performed on IDocs are protocolled by R/3 and IDocs can be reprocessed if an error occurred in one of the message steps.
While IDocs have to be understood as a data exchange protocol, EDI and ALE are typical use cases for IDocs. R/3 uses IDocs for both EDI and ALE to deliver data to the receiving system. ALE is basically the scheduling mechanism that defines when and between which partners and what kind of data will be exchanged on a regular or event triggered basis. Such a set-up is called an ALE-scenario.
IDoc is a intermediate document to exchange data between two SAP Systems.
*IDocs are structured ASCII files (or a virtual equivalent).
*Electronic Interchange Document
*They are the file format used by SAP R/3 to exchange data with foreign systems.
*Data Is transmitted in ASCII format, i.e. human readable form
*IDocs exchange messages
*IDocs are used like classical interface files
IDOC types are templates for specific message types depending on what is the business document, you want to exchange.
WE30 - you can create a IDOC type.
An IDOC with data, will have to be triggered by the application that is trying to send out the data.
FOr testing you can use WE19.
How to create idoc?

An IDoc is simply a data container that is used to exchange information between any two processes that can understand the syntax and semantics of the data...
1.IDOCs are stored in the database. In the SAP system, IDOCs are stored in database tables.
2.IDOCs are independent of the sending and receiving systems.
3.IDOCs are independent of the direction of data exchange.
The two available process for IDOCs are
Outbound Process
Inbound Process
AND There are basically two types of IDOCs.
Basic IDOCs
Basic IDOC type defines the structure and format of the business document that is to be exchanged between two systems.
Extended IDOCs
Extending the functionality by adding more segments to existing Basic IDOCs.
To Create Idoc we need to follow these steps:
Create Segment ( WE31)
Create Idoc Type ( WE30)
Create Message Type ( WE81)
Assign Idoc Type to Message Type ( WE82)

How to use E1BPPAREX - IDoc Segment enhancement
Hi,
can you provide me with some details on "how to use the E1BPPAREX" IDoc Segment ?
I want to enhance the standard PRICECATALOGUE02 IDoc with some customer defined fields.
There is a use of a STRUCTURE FIELD and 4 VALUEPARTS.
What kind of structure do i have to use ?
I red something about to enter 2 kind of structures ?
a) the first part = wrf_pricat_key*
b) second part = DDIC userdefined structure.
Thx,
GordonHi Gordon,
1. Map customer data in E1BPPAREX segment fields:
STRUCTURE CHAR 30 0 Structure name of BAPI table extension
VALUEPART1 CHAR 240 0 Data part of BAPI extension parameter
VALUEPART2 CHAR 240 0 Data part of BAPI extension parameter
VALUEPART3 CHAR 240 0 Data part of BAPI extension parameter
VALUEPART4 CHAR 240 0 Data part of BAPI extension parameter
2. Build a new implementationof BADI interface IF_EX_PRICAT_OUT_EXTIN (PRICAT_IN_EXTIN definition name) using SE19
3. Write the ABAP code for UPDATE_INBOUND_EXTENSIONIN method to manage your additional customer data:
UPDATE_INBOUND_EXTENSION: This method enables the data from the
ExtensionIn table parameter to be processed. This parameter may contain
customer-specific data that is either to be integrated into standard
tables in the price catalog, or stored in customer-defined tables.
BAPI_Table_Extensions are used for this integration into the standard
tables from the price catalog. These are enhancement concept objects for
BAPIs. SAP delivers them with the key elements, and customers enhance
them for their own fields in appends. The method receives the
Table_Extensions using the interface and then it can fill them. Once the
entries are returned after the method has been called, they are mixed
with the standard tables. If a customer wishes to update
customer-defined tables, a user-defined update module can be called in
the method and it will update the customer-defined tables.
When the method is called, the changing parameters are empty. They may
be filled in the method. They are used to provide customer-defined
fields in the standard tables. If entries are made in these structures
and tables, the 'entries_made' parameter must be set to 'X' so that the
entries are transferred from these structures and tables to the standard
tables in the price catalog. These parameters are BAPI table extensions.
These structures can be enhanced in the customer system with APPENDS.
This enhancement is exactly the same as the enhancement for the standard
tables involved. The customer-specific fields are transexported to the
standard tables after the method has been called using a
MOVE_CORRESPONDING. This involves the enhancement technology that
supports BAPIs in the standard system.

How to handle tables having volatile data
Hi,
We have a table in which we load millions of data and after validation a huge amount of data is deleted. After that the select statements (performing FTS) becomes slow. If we shrink the space, the queries becomes faster. But shrinking space requires additional time. We can consider creating index on the table. But the indexes will slow down the inserts.
I wanted to know, how do we handle such tables containing data which has volitile nature.
The database version is 10.2.0.5 and platform Windows server 2008.
Regards,Thanks Justin,
We can't truncate the table.
Basically, the application is for a credit card payment gateway. A credit card transaction may be a successful or unsuccessful transaction. All the data is pushed in flat file. The application loads the data(using SQL loader) in a temporary table and if the merchant_id is correct then the data is pushed in permanent table(say T1). The table T1 may contain successful as well as unsuccessful transations (The unsuccessful transactions have to be maintained for 30 days because of business compulsions). Once the validation is done, the successful transations are moved to different table and are deleted from T1.
Here I have referred T1 as a table having volatile data. We can't truncate it as it has still data which is required by business.
Hope I am clear.

How SAP BW system read cube data?? - Important
Hi BW and database level gurus
I have very simple question . I want to know how SAP BW system read data from the cube.
If I write a simple BEx query and execute - how does system gets data from cube?
Here is what I wish to know -
1) Does it use SELECT statement after all to get data based on set of SID or DIM ids?
2) What is the backend data retrieval architecture look like . Can someone provide me some digram to explain ?
3) Data in cube is stored in ROLAP concept so then will I get same performance if I had simple transparent table? why should we use CUBE then?
4) What are the steps that happens in backend ABAP that get us the expected result?
Thanks and I will appreciate your reply

Edited by: AM on Apr 10, 2008 2:48 AMHi,
Yes, it uses select statements to fetch data. It initially makes selection from the dimension tables for the necessary characteristics and then gets the corresponding key figures from the fact table.
say for example, to fetch the top sales vales and customers from a region say India. Then, the select statement will make all customers from customer dimension belongining to the region India from the region dimension and finally gets the corresponding values from the fact table.
If you use simple table, OLAP concept cannot be applied, and the way the master data is retirved for the corresponding transaction data is far more efficient in olap.

0Person to 0employee loading, how to handle start and end date
Hi
I need help on some basic understanding of time dependent master data object.
In my scenario i am loading 0employee and 0Person from R/3. I need to update 0employee from 0person.
0employee
BEGDA ENDDA PERNR Position....................So many fields
10.10.2001 10.10.2004 8000123 Associate
11.10.2004 10.10.2008 8000123 Consultant
11.10.2008 31.12.9999 8000123 Senior Consultant
0Person
BEGDA ENDDA PERNR City....................So many fields
10.10.2001 10.10.2003 8000123 Singapore
11.10.2003 10.10.2007 8000123 Tokyo
11.10.2007 31.12.9999 8000123 Newyork
As the begining and end date are different i can't simply read City from 0person into 0employee. If i go for checking the city for the start and end date in 0employee, i will get multiple records ( If try to get city for 0employee's first record, i will get 2 city Singapore and Tokyo).
Please help me out how to handle this ...... i think i am missing somelink somewhere
Thanks
Tripple kHi Srini
Yes i need to have parallel flow for both and in the cube where my reporting will be on monthly basis i need to read these 2 master data and get the required attributes ( considering last/first day of that month as per the requirement).......but i am just wondering this is common scenario....while there are so many threads written for populating 0employee from 0person......don't they have such requirement.....
Thanks

How PO/Outbound delivery idoc can be triggered automatically once PO is created.
Hi All,
We have a requirement that we need to automate the process of generation of Purchase Order & Outbound Delivery Idocs as soon as they are created in using ME21N and VL02N standard tcodes.
Currently we are using ZDID Output type as craeted in NACE and below WE20 Message Control Entries:
For PO -
Application EF : Purchase Order
Message Type: ZDID : Direct Delivery PO
Process Code ME10 : ORDERS: Purchase order
For OB -
Application V2 : Shipping
Message Type: ZLD0 : Delivery Note
Process Code DELV : Delivery DELVRY01: DESADV/CARNOT/WHSORD/SHPORD
Also, BD64 entries are already maintained.
As per current process, we manually go to ME23N/VL02N tcode->and execute output type which generates Idoc in we02.
Can any one help me getting this automated urgently.
Thanks
neha vermaHi Neha,
Use Change Pointers Concept for Both PO & Delivery Note.
So that, as soon as a Create/Change/Delete activities happen on PO & Delivery Note, IDOCS will be triggered automatically.

Same setup for Delivery Note as well.

Sort a table with no index or key defined?
Greetz! I've got a script that builds a table, table A, by doing a select into. Later, a select is done on that table and an order by added. However the sort order is not persisting. Could this be due to there being no indexes or primary keys defined

Problems with missing template handler
Hello, We have put the name testmiss.cfm in the missing template handler in the administrator. Still, the default ColdFusion error message shows when a cfinclude has template=a nonexisting file and when in an html form, action=a nonexisting cfm file.
