File adapter would behave in a similar fashion on J2ee. Providing u the link to ongoing discussion
is ANSI ENCODING possible using file/j2see adapter

  • I want to get the file in ANSI format.. Any idea?

    Hi all,
    I am doing a file to file bypass scenario .My client has demanded that the output file should be in ANSI format.
    I checked the <b>file.encoding</b> option in sap-help but ANSI is not available can u suggest that what encoding type i must use.
    I used ISO-8859-1 as well.But client rejected this file saying that ANSI characters not present in ISO-8859-1
    Any one pls throw some light on this how to acheive.

    Hi Stefan,
    Thanks for those links.. I have few doubts .. please suggest me.
    Based on those links and as per my thinking, now i have to follow below steps in File Module .
    Processing sequence:
    <b>Module Name :</b> AF_Modules/StrictXml2PlainBean
    <b>Type :</b> Local Enterprise Bean
    <b>ModuleKey :</b> 0
    <b>Module Name :</b> AF_Modules/StrictXml2PlainBean
    <b>Type :</b> Local Enterprise Bean
    <b>ModuleKey :</b> 1
    Module Configuration :
    <b>ModuleKey :</b> 0
    <b>Parameter Name :</b> singleRecordType (Since it is Bypass scenario,i want the entire file to have endseparator as /r/n.)
    <b>Parameter value: </b> What i need to mention i this field??
    <b>ModuleKey :</b> 1
    <b>Parameter Name :</b> Convert
    <b>Parameter value:</b>  No value ??
    In the links, i found these 3 parameters stating as
    Enter the parameter convert. It can have the following values:
    &#9679;     none - no conversion
    &#9679;     CRLFtoLF - conversion from Microsoft Windows CRLF to Unix LF
    &#9679;     No value or another value - conversion from Unix LF to Microsoft Windows CRLF
    So now i want the file to be in (CRLF).SO i need to mention "No value" here??
    Please suggest me stefan if iam thinking in correct way.

  • Specify File Encoding(Japanese Characters) for UTL_FILE in Oracle 10g

    Hi All,
    I am creating a text file using the UTL_FILE package. The database is Oracle 10G and the charset of DB is UTF-8.
    The file is created on the DB Server machine itself which is a Windows 2003 machine with Japanese OS. Further, some tables contain Japanese characters which I need to write to the file.
    When these Japanese characters are written to the text file they occupy 3 bytes instead of 1 and distort the format of the file, I need to stick to.
    Can somebody suggest, is there a way to write the Japanese character in 1 byte or change the encoding of the file type to something else viz. ShiftJIS etc.
    Thanking in advance,
    Regards,
    Tushar

    Are you using the UTL_FILE.FOPEN_NCHAR function to open the files?

  • Receiver file channel with ANSI format.

    Hi,
    I have developed file to file scenario for which sender file format is unicode and receiver file format is ANSI.
    There is no FCC at sender and receiver site. In interface we are just bypassing the file in PI, there is no ESR objects.
    I have configured sender channel for unicode in following way:
    File Type : Text
    file encoding : UTF-8
    I have configured receiver file channel for ANSI in following way:
    File Type : Text
    file encoding : i have tried with cp1252 and ISO8859-1
    When I run the interface I received receiver file in ANSI format. But when I open that file in notepad the content in the file is having spaces in between 2 characters like below.
    V O L 1 0 0 0 0 0 9
    Is any bady having idea about this problem?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    The blanks in your target file might be created because your source file is encoded with UTF-16, not UTF-8. Try using one of these as an encoding in sender communication channel:
    UTF-16BE (16-bit Unicode character format, big-endian byte order)
    UTF-16LE (16-bit Unicode character format, little-endian byte order)
    UTF-16 (16-bit Unicode character format, byte order)
    Hope you'll find this useful,
    Greg

  • Export data in ANSI format using GUI_DOWNLOAD

    Hi,
    Please find below the issue description.
    We have a program that exports txt file which inturn is uploaded in a 3rd party system.
    Before upgrade, we were getting the txt file in ANSI format. (The program uses GUI_DOWNLOAD without any code page and file type is ASC)
    After upgrading the system to ECC 6, the program was modified to consider the code page 4103. But the txt file is in Unicode Format. (file type used in GUI_DOWNLOAD is ASC). As the 3rd party system is accepts only ANSI format, we manually change the format in windows and then upload.
    Please suggest.

  • J2SE Adapter Monitoring

    Hi
    Is there any way of activating native monitoring from within the J2SE Adapter engine? How do we monitor errors on the J2SE Adapter engine automatically?

    Hi Riaz,
    >>>I would like specific alerts based on the type of error on the adapter to be sent to recipients in a mail distribution list for instance.
    You can call SALERT_CREATE RFC from the Java adapter module and raise alerts based on the error.

  • How to detect encoding file in ANSI, UTF8 and UTF8 without BOM

    Hi all,
    I am having a problem with detecting a .txt/.csv file encoding. I need to detect a file in ANSI, UTF8 and UTF8 without BOM but the problem is the encoding of ANSI and UTF8 without BOM are the same. I checked the function below and saw that ANSI and UTF8
    without BOM have the same encoding. so, How can I detect UTF8 without BOM encoding file? because I need to handle for this case in my code.
    Thanks.
    public Encoding GetFileEncoding(string srcFile)
                // *** Use Default of Encoding.Default (Ansi CodePage)
                Encoding enc = Encoding.Default;
                // *** Detect byte order mark if any - otherwise assume default
                byte[] buffer = new byte[10];
                FileStream file = new FileStream(srcFile, FileMode.Open);
                file.Read(buffer, 0, 10);
                file.Close();
                if (buffer[0] == 0xef && buffer[1] == 0xbb && buffer[2] == 0xbf)
                    enc = Encoding.UTF8;
                else if (buffer[0] == 0xfe && buffer[1] == 0xff)
                    enc = Encoding.Unicode;
                else if (buffer[0] == 0 && buffer[1] == 0 && buffer[2] == 0xfe && buffer[3] == 0xff)
                    enc = Encoding.UTF32;
                else if (buffer[0] == 0x2b && buffer[1] == 0x2f && buffer[2] == 0x76)
                    enc = Encoding.UTF7;
                else if (buffer[0] == 0xFE && buffer[1] == 0xFF)
                    // 1201 unicodeFFFE Unicode (Big-Endian)
                    enc = Encoding.GetEncoding(1201);
                else if (buffer[0] == 0xFF && buffer[1] == 0xFE)
                    // 1200 utf-16 Unicode
                    enc = Encoding.GetEncoding(1200);
                return enc;

    what you want is to get the encoding utf-8 without bom which can only be detected if the file has special characters, so do the following:
    public Encoding GetFileEncoding(string srcFile)
                // *** Use Default of Encoding.Default (Ansi CodePage)
                Encoding enc = Encoding.Default;
                // *** Detect byte order mark if any - otherwise assume default
                byte[] buffer = new byte[10];
                FileStream file = new FileStream(srcFile, FileMode.Open);
                file.Read(buffer, 0, 10);
                file.Close();
                if (buffer[0] == 0xef && buffer[1] == 0xbb && buffer[2]
    == 0xbf)
                    enc = Encoding.UTF8;
                else if (buffer[0] == 0xfe && buffer[1] == 0xff)
                    enc = Encoding.Unicode;
                else if (buffer[0] == 0 && buffer[1] == 0 && buffer[2]
    == 0xfe && buffer[3] == 0xff)
                    enc = Encoding.UTF32;
                else if (buffer[0] == 0x2b && buffer[1] == 0x2f &&
    buffer[2] == 0x76)
                    enc = Encoding.UTF7;
                else if (buffer[0] == 0xFE && buffer[1] == 0xFF)
                    // 1201 unicodeFFFE Unicode (Big-Endian)
                    enc = Encoding.GetEncoding(1201);
                else if (buffer[0] == 0xFF && buffer[1] == 0xFE)
                    // 1200 utf-16 Unicode
                    enc = Encoding.GetEncoding(1200);
               else if (validatUtf8whitBOM(srcFile))
                    enc = UTF8Encoding(false);
                return enc;
    private bool validateUtf8whitBOM(string FileSource)
                bool bReturn = false;

  • How can I create files in unicode format without "byte order mark"?

    Hello together,
    I have to export files in UTF-8 format and have to send them to another partner system which works with linux as operating system.
    I have tried the different possibities to create files with ABAP. But nothing works 100% how I want.
    Some examples:
    1.)
    OPEN DATASET [filename] FOR OUTPUT IN TEXT MODE ENCODING UTF-8.
    If I create a file in this way and download it from application server to local system the result for file format in a unicode text edior like NotePad is "ANSI AS UTF-8". This means I have no BYTE ORDER MARK inside.
    But it is also possible that the file format is only ANSI if the file contains no "special characters", isn't it?
    In my test cases I create 3 files. 2 of them has format "ANSI AS UTF-8", and one only "ANSII".
    After transfer to Linux I get as result 2 times UTF8 and one time ASCII as file format.
    2.)
    OPEN DATASET [filename] FOR OUTPUT IN TEXT MODE ENCODING UTF-8 WITH BYTE ORDER MARK.
    With this syntax the result in local editor looks like ok. I get as format really "UTF-8".
    But I get problems with the system which receives the files.
    All files has the file format UTF-8 on Linux but the interface / script can not read the file with BYTE ORDER MARK.
    This is a very big problem for me.
    Do anybody of you know if it possible to force creation in UTF-8 without a BYTE ORDER MARK?
    This means more or less the first example but all files should have UTF-8 format!
    Thanks in advance
    Christian

    This means it is not possible to create a pure unicode file without the byte order mark?
    You wouldn't happen to know how a file with byte order mark should read on a Linux system?
    Or if this possible or not?
    Regards
    Christian
