How take variable value in WAD 7.0 from query

Hi experts,
We have some queries with the same type of data but with different structure. All have the same variables entry and we want to execute through WAD one of them based on the values entered in the variables screen.
Could you help us saying how we can take that variables values entered in order to use in the Web template code?
We are using WAD 7.0 and QD 7.0.

What I am looking for is a method to get the value of variable inside excel (e.g. put it into a cell / range of a worksheet, so that we can reference it and use it as an input for planning function execution).

How to display a variable value in WAD?

I am using a replacement path variable to filter a report by project number. While this works fine, the project number is not easily visible (only via Filter -> Display All Filter Values and this only displays the description, not the key).
How can I display the key and the description of the project number variable at the top of the report?

The first part is right -
1) drag a text element onto the page, at a location in which you want the variable value to be displayed
2) On the left hand bottom page - go to the web item properties for the text element
3) scroll down to the specific properties for the item - in that uncheck the first two check boxes - display general text elements & display static filter values
4) in the next item in the properties (List of text elements) click once on the box where List is written and then clcik on the small browse button that appears.
5) in the window that opens, in the element type field, select variable/variable value as key (as per your requirement) and then under the element ID field type in the technical name of your variable that you want to display.
click ok and save your template and try executing it.
See if this solves your problem.

How to pass a Variable value into an ODI Scenario from ODI Package

I have created an Interface that uses the variable #ENTITY_ID for retrieving entity data from the DWH; now I have generated a Scenario from the interface and placed the Scenario in an ODI Package; am not sure how to pass the #ENTITY_ID variable to the ODI Scenario?
Any help is greately appreciated.

Hi Sutrtha,
Yeah I got the pop up asking to select the variables used, I have selected ENTITY_ID that was used by the interfaces, but on execution of the package the Scenario did not work as the passeed variable #ENTITY_ID is set to 0 instead of the value I am passing.
Am I missing something?

Hi Niel,
are those variables A and B used for the same characteristics?
If not, maybe you could try to put variable A also to the 2nd query as dummy variable, that would not affect the query... Then in WAD you would see that just once and then you should be able see the variable A in the step 2 in user exit.....
But I guess, that has already struck you.....

How to pass variable value into module pool scren from a report program

I have created a report program with selection screen parameters. when the inputs are filled and executed it generates the purchase evaluation sequence number. i have created a screen and passed that number to display on it with print option and back option buttons as required. but variable alone is not getting passed from the program to module pool screen. buttons are working fine. value alone is not coming. can anyone please help me.

Refresh Variable values in WAD

We have a strange problem in WAD.
Actually we are on 731 on Hana and we have built a web report with WAD which contain 20 queries. these queries has 2 varibales:
- calyear
- Company code
As ex when we launch the report with variable's values 2013 - CC01 the system shows the message ' No data found..' for one query but now if we select the button 'refresh variables' (always for 2013 - CC01) the system shows data!
Also if we execute the same query in BEX the system shows data.
In fact there are correct data in InfoProvider for this selection but it looks like that for the 1st execution the system is unable to incorporate the correct variable's value.

The problem is that refreshing data across all queries works only if we are already into the report (img 2) but if we launch for 1st time the same report it doesn't work (img 1), so:
1) launch the wad (variables 2013 CC01) the result is 'No data'
2) refresh the wad (always with 2013 CC01) the system show data.

How catch variable value from trigger

situation:
I have trigger which is fired after update on any value in table aaa, trigger is used to archive all values in updated row from table aaa to table aaa_archive, in trigger is calculated sys_guid() ID for archive record ID, I need to get this ID, and forward to php code, because of some filesystem archive operations with files(files are archvived as well, and I need create connection between this file and archived record in DB).
It is needed to use trigger instead of some own pl/sql archive procedure.
Can somebody help?

How to supply values for searchCriteria items in af:query programmatically

Is it possible to supply the default values for search criteria items in af:query programmatically? I didn't find any of the method to set the values for the search criteria items inside the oracle.adf.view.rich.model.Criterion and oracle.adf.view.rich.model.AttributeCriterion classes.
Please let me know how can I supply DATE values by default for the search criteria items inside the view criteria.

Jdev I am using is 1.5.
I've search page where I've a date field (like TransactionDate). The transactionDate is a transient variable in my VO. Created a view criteria using this transient date filed and kept the operator as 'Between'. When I load the page, I want to keep the values for Between operator as 'CurrentDate' and 'CurrentDate - 365 days' (LastYearDate as of today).
I can't use bind variables to set the currentDate and lastYearDate to the values of the 'Between' operator. If I use so, I will get an error 'Attempt to set a parameter that doesn't occur in the sql.....'.
So I thought of overriding the QueryEvent inside the bean. But I didn't find a way to set the values for the TransactionDate programmatically.
I tried below code in the queryEvent method, but in this case the response time is very hign ( I didn't see the result till 30mn).

How to set values in a CoreTable programmatically from a backing bean

Hi,
One of the columns in my CoreTable is "af:inputText" field, I need to set the value of inputText field in each row from a backing bean.
I have bound this table to a component in the bakcing bean and in the setMyCoreTable method I'm also preselecting certain rows. For all the preselected rows I need to set a value in the inputText field.
Can someone point me to some code samples or give me some ideas to solve this.

I looked at the post you suggested yesterday, but I wasnt sure how I can implement that in my case.
Since Im programatically preselecting certain rows in the setMyCoreTable method(which is the accessor method), I was hoping I could prepopulate the input text field as well in the same method.

I would like to create table that show the summary of task for each month, the query result such as

How to find the Name of Infoset either from Query Name or Program Name

I ahve got the program name from the Transaction code of the Query. I also found out the name of the Query but I could not find out the name of the "Infoset". Please help me to find out the name of the Infoset either from the Query Name or from the Program name.

Thank you for your reply. Actually. We have got transaction name of report and from that we found out the name of the Program and from that Program we have utilised the FM to find out the Query name. But we are unable to find the name of Infiset as we have to Download this Infoset from DEV and it is to be uploaded into QUALITY.
But we are not sure about the Infoset.
I could not understand your sentence "When Open it".

How to get current variable value in WAD using Javascript?

Hi,
Go to RSD! and check the infoobject.
The setting "Query Execution filter value selection" for that particular infoobject of the variable in the "Business Explorer" tab must be set to "values in Master Data table".
so based on this the variable WILL show all the values that are maintained in the master data.
To achieve what you are requesting for, in the variable selection pop up screen,
In the F4 help, click on "Settings"
and in the "Value Restrictions" tab,
set the "Read Mode" setting to "custom : Only values in the InfoProvider"
By Making this setting you should be able to see on the values present in the infoprovider.
