How to access excel(macros defined) in Infoview?

Hi All,
Can anyone help me out to know how to view Excel with Macros in Infoview.
Regards,
Anisa

Hi,
So you mean to say, I just need to use the ConnectionManager.getConnection() method. It requires a pool connection name. Do I specify the same pool name as in the connectionmanager.xml config file ? And that will do it ? Please clarify. Following is a code snippet. Please verify if this is correct.
Connection conn = null;
try
conn = ConnectionManager.getConnection(poolname);
if(conn == null) {
throw new IOException("No such connection found");
thanks,
Mainak

  • How to call excel macros in ODI

    Hi gurus,
    I am new In ODI please help me with this. i want to store sheet name of excel file in a variable.I have written a macro function for this please help me how to call that macro function in ODI
    Thanks & regards

    this are my thoughts ,since you will have to deal with multiple files and read multiple sheets . While dealing with Excel ,we have to deal with DSN and so multiple Excel can a be a little complex.
    I think we can make use of your macro function by calling via VB and once you find the correct value write a in separate txt File. Now this File can be called in ODI and read and processed as you wish to .
    Step 1. Call your Macro Function via VB
    Step 2. Call this VB program via OS Command, which write to a separate file.
    Step 3. Call this variable and read from the file via this methods http://odiexperts.com/?p=243 , http://odiexperts.com/?p=273.
    Does this helps you .

  • How to access Excel files from different locations?

    Hello,
    I have successfully tested the Excel sample on WLS 7, and trying to run it on
    the WLS 8.1.
    Anyways, the common question for both is, how to access an excel files from different
    locations (e.g. c:\path\1.xls, \\domain1\finance\fin.xls, \\domain1\marketing\customer.xls,
    \\domain2\accounts\vouchers.xls)?
    From example i can see that it picks from a specific path under repository.
    Thanks
    Ashok Gupta

    The custom function sets the MS-Excel default directory to System.getProperty("user.dir")+"/excel"
    (the domain directory), then opens the filename passed as a parameter. I assume
    that if you pass in the fully specified path for the excel file ( like d:\MyDir\data\test.xls),
    that it would open that file.

  • How to run Excel Macros using JDBC-ODBC

    Hi,
    I want to run the excel macros in the excel file, after I connected to excel file, using JDBC-ODBC bridge.
    How macros treated here?
    Help needed please..........
    - Ramesh

    How to run Excel Macros using JDBC-ODBCYou don't.
    As my fuzzy understanding goes.....
    Macros (excel, word, etc) run via a "OLE" extension of the script host system.
    So the only way to run them is via the OLE interface. That has nothing to do with ODBC. You can write your own JNI to do that, or you might get lucky and find that someone else has written a java library to do it for you.

  • How to run excel macros using lookout

    Hi,
    I want use Excel macros for generating custom reports.Is it possible to run macros using run object in lookout
    thanks

    Hi,
    I am pretty sure you can activate macros in Excel using the Run object in Lookout. I can think of two ways you can do this:
    1. You can setup your Excel to run macros on startup using the Auto_Activate method. In this case, you will just launch excel with your workbook using the Run object and that should run the macros automatically. No brainer!
    2. To better control as to when the macros are run we can assign in Excel some shortcut keys for their launching. We then would need to simulate these keystrokes to launch our macros. This can be done using the SendKeys method and some scripting, WHS Scripting for instance. See this pos
    t for a scripting example which simulates Alt+Tab keys to bring-to-front an app.
    You will launch the script from the Run object and this in turn launches Excel and then simulates the keys for luanching the appropriate macros. I admit this is kinda involved, but hey it works!
    Hope this helps,
    Khalid

    You can apply similar concept if you want to use stored procedure.
    If you still get problems, post the type that you have created and the error you are getting.

  • Accessing a user defined library - CLASSPATH

    Hi all
    First I will tell you what I have implmented, then I will discuss the problem.
    My PATH (user variables) is set to c:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0\bin and everything works
    fine - I can compile and run from any directory.
    When I open a shell (cmd.exe) my current working directory is:
         C:\Documents and Settings\Paul Gain\Desktop>
    I have a file in the same directory called Test.java
    Here it is:
    import pack.ClassPathTest;
    class Test {
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    new ClassPathTest();
    The package "pack" resides at C:\pack
    There are two files within "pack" one is called ClassPathTest.java
    and the other is called ClasspathTest.class
    Here is the code:
    package pack;
    public class ClassPathTest {
    public ClassPathTest() {
    System.out.println("Hello Paul");
    Obviously this program is nonsense, However, I want to find out
    how to access a user defined library of classes that is in a seperate directory.
    When I compile from the desktop with the command: javac Test.java
    The compiler complains, here is the output:
    C:\Documents and Settings\Paul Gain\Desktop>javac Test.java
    Test.java:1: package pack does not exist
    import pack.ClassPathTest;
    ^
    Test.java:7: cannot find symbol
    symbol : class ClassPathTest
    location: class Test
    new ClassPathTest();
    ^
    2 errors
    If I cut and paste "pack" into the desktop directory everything works as expected.
    Because of this I believe the problem lies with the CLASSPATH of "pack".
    I have tried all sorts of variations of CLASSPATH but to no avail.
    for example under "system variables" in environment variables I have
    used the following:
    .;C:\pack
    Which says look in the current working directory first and then in pack. But
    that does not work (and yes I close the current shell and open a new one).
    Once the CLASSPATH is set .;C:\pack and I compile again the compiler
    moans and gives me this:
    C:\Documents and Settings\Paul Gain\Desktop>javac Test.java
    Test.java:1: package pack does not exist
    import pack.ClassPathTest;
    ^
    Test.java:7: cannot access ClassPathTest
    bad class file: C:\pack\ClassPathTest.class
    class file contains wrong class: pack.ClassPathTest
    Please remove or make sure it appears in the correct subdirectory of the classpa
    th.
    new ClassPathTest();
    ^
    2 errors
    Obviously I am doing something wrong, can somebody please help me as I do not wish
    to add my libraries in the same directory as my program. I have even tried to add c:\pack
    to the PATH but that does not work either. HELP!
    Regards
    Paul

    If you are currently in Desktop, you need your classpath to be:
    .;C:\The "pack" package lies in "C:\"
    If you are anywhere else, you need:
    "C:\Documents and Settings\Paul Gain\Desktop;C:\""Test" lies in the first part, and the "pack" package still lies in "C:\".

  • Call Excel Macros function from Java

    Hi All,
    can u guide me How to call excel macros from java.
    The thing is first I have to enable macros and then call the macors function.
    Is this possible to call from Java. If yes guide me.
    Thanks in Advance

    Seems like something you'd have to do through COM.
    http://sourceforge.net/projects/jacob-project/
    HOW you do that is something you'll really have to figure out yourself, its not a Java question.

  • How to open excel files from email in macro enabled workbooks NOT 2003-2007 worksheets?

    I have recently installed Office 365 and it was working great. I needed to open excel documents via email with the macro enabled option. Yesterday it flicked back to only giving me the option to open in 2003-2007 workbook so now I am having issues with the
    macros. I am contracting and trying to get work out and this has now caused huge problems.
    Am thinking of uninstalling and reinstalling. I did have older versions of ms office so maybe there is some residual content there to remove? I have tried to change the associations and protocols to open in excel macro enabled workbooks but these tick boxes
    are greyed out and I do not know how to gain access to these. Have been hunting all through my computer system but do not know how to do this. Am no expert.
    If someone could help I would really appreciate it otherwise will need to find some computer shop expert I suppose...urgently ha.

  • Custom Excel macros can't be accessed by new admin user, only original developer

    Excel macros created several years ago using NI Measure are not accessible to users other than the original developer.  We are using Win 2000 OS, NI Measure version 1.2 upgraded from version 1.0, and Microsoft Office Excel 2003 SP1.  Even if the user has the same admin rights as the original developer of the macro, they cannot access it.  The macro is accessible and works fine when the original developer logs into the win 2000 pc with his login name and password.  Has anyone else had this problem?  Does anyone know how we can resolve this issue?
    Thanks,
    Alex H.

    Alex,
    The first thing to try would be to install the patch for Measure (Measure Patch 1.2c) if you haven't already.  Do you have this same issue when trying to access Macros not created by Measure?  Unfortunately, the best I could find on Macro and Measure issues were the following KBs.
