How to achieve conversion of PDF to PDF/A files using Java API?

We are required to convert existing pdf files to pdf/a files. Is there a way to programatically achive this using any of the Java APIs?

Have you considered using JDOM? ( www.jdom.org )
The XMLOutputter class can write the Document to a file. ( The Document however will be an org.jdom.Document object ).
If you are weary of a new API, you could just create a new File object called abc.xml and stream the data from the XML Document you have to this new File object.

I successfully added,viewed data of the *.dat file.
but,I cannt edit,delete the lines that i need to do randomly.

My GUI application creates a pdf document which I need to print. I want to achieve this using the standard Java class PrinterJob (no 3rd party APIs I'm afraid, commercial restraints etc ..). I had a stab at it using the following code. When executed I get the pretty printer dialog then when I click ok to print, nothing happens!

Dots are appearing on characters after created PDF through *.dwg file using AutoVue API

Hi,
I created PDF's through *.dwg file using AutoVue API 20.2.2. I observed in more zoom of PDF, every character or line has dots. At the same time on second page of PDF drawing lines are thicker that first page of PDF.
Please kindly help on this, how to remove dots and drawing lines are published same as on first page.

As with any format that does not support zoomable line thickness, the output is dpi dependent
Imagine the DPI impact on a PDF is similar to the DPI on an image, except you can zoom into the lines, they look smooth (it is vector) but the position for the specific points is not as accurate as it should
So it all boils down to how are you generating the PDF?

Using I/O classes I want to prepare a .doc file in which some text will be there. I want that text to be formatted. Like some text I want to be bold. Some text to be italic. How can I write bold/Italic text to the file using java I/O classes.

By .doc file, I'm assuming you mean an MS Word document, yes? (fyi, Word Perfect also used the .doc extension)
The .doc format is proprietary to Microsoft and isn't documented by them. In order to output a file in .doc format you'd have to understand that format correctly, otherwise MS Word will spit out it's tongue at you, call you names, and maybe send the Microsoft Police to "audit" your PC Software Licensing.
Fortunately for you there is an open source project to demangle the microsoft file formats. See http://jakarta.apache.org/poi/ and especially pay attention to the HDF project (Horrible Document Format).

I have a client application which will prepare number of source files and some meta data information (in .XML) which will be used in header/footer. Is it possible to put a run time generated DDX file in the watch folder and use it in Process. If possible how can I pass the file names in the DDX. Any sample Process will be very helpful.

I think instead of going with JAVA mapping you can write a custom adapter module for it.

Image not displayed in pdf generated using Java API for Forms service

Hi,
I am creating a pdf document using Java API for Forms Service.
I am able to generate the pdf but the images are not visible in the generated pdf.
The image relative path is coming in the xml as defined below. The images are stored dynamically in the Livecycle repository each time a request is fired with unique name before the xml is generated.

Not sure if I need to specify specify specific URI values that are required to render a form with image.
The same thing is working when I generate pdf document using Java API for Output Service.
As, I need to generate interactive form, I have to use Forms service to generate pdfs.
