How to add a locally stored video file to a presentation

Hi all ,
I want to add a locally stored video file to a presentation .What is the url that i need to use..
Ur help is much appreciated
Thanks

The recommended procedure is to create the presentation on the DMM (upload the video to the DMM) then create a deployment package using the presentation created on the DMM. Once you deploy it to the DMP, the DMM will FTP the video along with presentation files to the DMP which will contain the links to play the video that will be stored locally on the DMP.
You may want to review the following thread to see how to trigger the local presentation to play and how to update it later:

  • Add track info to video files

after installing the latest version of iTunes yesterday, I can no longer add track info to video files. The fix for the last version of iTunes was to hold shift and select "get info", but that option is now gone. Any help would be appreciated.

iTunes 12.1 has removed access to that older dialog box. Track numbers and disc numbers are available for TV Shows, but not for Podcasts for example. Text fields can usually be edited in the list views. For numeric fields either temporarily change the media kind to one that has access to the field you want or use/adapt my scripts mentioned in your other thread: Re: Adding track number to tv shows on the newest itunes.

How to add metadatas to 3D dae files...?
The cad file used as an entry, the 2D files used as textures, environment, shaders...etc?

    Hi,
Yes sorry about the "Acrobat Tag" , the question was more for the CS6 suite, and the management of DAE files in Bridge and Photoshop Extended in a CQ5 DAM workspace.
But nevertheless, it should be cool if Acrobat X 3D could import directly Collada files...

How do u put your own video files on the ipad and once u have done it where do u look to find it to play

You load them into iTunes and then sync them to your iPad. You'll then find them in the Video app. For detailed information, consult the iPad User Guide; the sections on Synching and Videos will be most applicable. Then if you have specific questions, post back and we can help further.

  • How can I add MPAA ratings to video files in iTunes?

I understand Apple prohibits the customer from manually inputting MPAA or TV ratings into the video files centrally stored in an iTunes library, as ripping DVDs is considered illegal. How can I get around this problem? Is it possible to manually manipulate the meta data outside of iTunes?
In this specific case, I would like to share content over a home network also used by children; I have no problem with them watching Harry Potter, but they need to grow a little before they want Dexter or Game of Thrones, but Apple makes this process unnecessarily cumbersome and obtuse.
I assume Apple will never permit this functionality, if only to satify copyright holders as well as protecting profits. However, I live in the Netherlands, and under Dutch law people are specifically permitted to make a limited number of copies of any copyrighted material (for personalI use only obviously, sharing remains technically illegal). The law places a small duty on all blank storage media, from old cassettes up until anything containing a hard drive (including iPod), to compensate artists and copyright holders for potential lost revenues. The total duty collected and disbursed amounts to tens of millions, and I imagine Apple also benefits (if ever so slightly). Therefore, under Dutch jurisdiction, I should be able to manipulate ripped versions of legally obtained video material all I want, as I wholly own the copies (legally). Do other countries/states have similar laws on the books?
The price of doing business globally is that you must adapt to many different legal jurisdictions; other companies do it without apparant problems, Apple should as well.

    You understand incorrectly.
as ripping DVDs is considered illegal
What does this have to with ratings?
I assume Apple will never permit this functionality,
Don't know why you would assume this at all.
They don't permit nor prohibit it. They don't do anything about it.

Yes, very easily. You need an application that will allow you to set the ratings. There are plenty of apps around.
-> MetaZ works fine for tagging most info on movies including ratings.
Note that Apple is simply a distributor. They are not the labels/copyright owners. Pretty sure they don't get any money from Stichting Thuiskopie.

    @daguerratype
The Spatial Conform is one of the things I tried. Unfortunately none of its settings fixed the aspect ratio. When I choose "Fit", it simply shows it as 4:3 and leaves left and right black borders on a 16:9 timeline. When I choose "Fill", it zooms the 4:3 video and chops off the top and bottom parts.
    @Thomas Emmerich
This is a decent workaround. Fortunately my clips are named in such a way that I can easily drop them all in the timeline and do a Command-F (Find) to search by clip name, highlight all of them in the search results, then use the Inspector to modify the properties of all the clips at once. I have to change X-scale to 133% and Spatial Conform to "Fit", and now at least it fits the 16:9 timeline properly.
Thanks to both replies. I still hope Apple adds a way to fix the clip in the Event browser so that I don't have to do this workaround.

  • How can I edit a VRO video file in Premiere Pro CC

I have a VRO video file stored on my windows based pc and would like to edit it with Premiere Pro CC.  How can I get Premiere Pro CC to recognise this file and allow me to edit it?

Change the extention to vob or mpg maybe that will do the trick,
or google for the AVS Video Tools VRO Converter.

  • How do I convert all the video files in Aperture to M4V?

    Hi,
I have alot of video files stored in my Aperture Library in various formats i.e. vob, avi, mpg etc which I would like to batch encode to the standard MP4 format used by iPad/iphone. How do I do this with the new file replacing the existing file so that I don't have to import it again into its various events which will be next to impossible.
    Thanking you,
    rgowani

Afaik, you cannot.  I did this with one Library with several hundred videos.  I set up a system of exporting and converting and importing into the proper Project(s) and deleting the originals.  I don't remember how I did it -- sorry -- I may have exported into Finder Folders based on Projects, then batch converted the files recursively.  I know I couldn't automate parts of the process, so for some things there was nothing to do but labor through the process file by file (or Project by Project).  I suspect I used Name Mangler along the way -- an excellent (and to me invaluable) utility.  I think the whole process, including design, took about 8 person-hours.  Video conversion was over the course of several nights.  Strongly suggest mapping your tasks, and doing a dry run.  As with all digital files, never even open one with a verified back-up.
How many movies in Aperture?  How many Projects?

  • How do I back up my video files

All my word documents, photographs have back up in the Airport Extreme, however, video files don't. Why can't these files be ebacked up?

There is no such thing.  An Airport Extreme does not include a hard drive.
It must be a 2 TB Time Capsulehttp://store.apple.com/us/product/MD032LL/A/Time-Capsule-2TB?fnode=MTY1NDA0Mg
I could not locate Time Machine Preferences > Options.  How do I access this?
See Time Machine - Frequently Asked Question #10.
What we did as a  the final solution was to copy all the video files and paste them to the TM backup.
You can't add them to the backups.  You may have put them on the Time Capsule's internal HD, and that's fine temporarily, but they're not part of the backups.
Where are the original files on your Mac?

  • Am I not able to "batch-add" artwork to my video files?

I have got loads of video files in my iTunes Library, and of course, the default poster-frame that iTunes sets for me on import means nothing to me, so I want to set my own.
It's all very obvious how to do this: right-click > Get Info > Artwork > Add...
But now the issue I have is that I have lots of television series videos, and I want all the videos in the same series to have the same poster frame. Going through them one by one is a very slow process (why does iTunes take so long to accept my new image???) and to me seems pointless if I want them all to have the same image as their poster frame?
SURELY there must be some way to select 20 videos (for example) and add one piece of artwork to them all? No?

I do apologise - I wasn't looking at the Info panel clearly enough.
It's true that you do only get the one Info panel come up when batch-editing multiple items, but what threw me was the fact that there's a small little artwork window in the multiple-items Info panel which is NOT in the single-item Info panel. (For a single-item, the Artwork option has its own panel.)
So I do apologise - that artwork option was there all along - but just much smaller, and in a different place.
