How to add an Array within an array?

Hi friends can any body guides me how to add array within array.
Actually i am getting Array from server side and i have to append one more node(Array) in same array and send it back to them.
here is the structure of my array that i am getting from server side.
temp = Array (@4445e09)
[0] = mx.utils.ObjectProxy (@4314821)
Mylanguages = Array (@4445b69)
[0] = Object (@449ac91)
Mylanguage = "English"
Mylanguage_code = "EN"
Mylanguage_id = "1"
selected = "Y"
length = 1
currentpage = "1"
definition_id = "20"
delete_record = "Y"
edit_record = "Y"
insert_record = "Y"
numberofpages = "1"
numberofrecords = "1"
object = Object (@4432449)
productgroups = Array (@43cea51)
type = null
uid = "111111"
length = 1
I have to add an array similar to like Mylanguages containing object which contain some info like some ids. and my array becomes
ttemp = Array (@4445e09)
[0] = mx.utils.ObjectProxy (@4314821)
Mylanguages = Array (@4445b69)
[0] = Object (@449ac91)
Mylanguage = "English"
Mylanguage_code = "EN"
Mylanguage_id = "1"
selected = "Y"
length = 1
currentpage = "1"
definition_id = "20"
delete_record = "Y"
edit_record = "Y"
insert_record = "Y"
numberofpages = "1"
numberofrecords = "1"
object = Object (@4432449)
productgroups = Array (@43cea51)
AddedNOde= Array (@4445b69)
[0] = Object (@449ac91)
id= "10"
tempId= "100"
Mylanguage_id = "1"
length = 1
type = null
uid = "111111"
length = 1
please tell me how it possible.
Thanks in Advance
Regards
Vineet osho

Hi Vineet,
You can simply add another Array as shown below:
for each(var obj:Object in temp)
obj.AddedNOde = YourNewArray;
By doing above NewArray is added to all the objects of temp Array.
Thanks,
Bhasker

• Can't duplicate movieclips as an array within an array

Hello.
I have an animation that loads an xml into it and traces back
an array within an array. I have tried to apply this to duplicated
movieclips thereby creating a structured set of links. What I am
trying to do is this:
Chicken Nuggets
__Compression
__Texture
__Disgust
Mega Warhead
__Taste
__Hardness
__Pain
This traces fine but I can't seem to get the duplicated
movieclips to assemble in this fashion.
The code for the XML is as follows:
var controlArray:Array;
var variable:Array;
var testTopic = new Array ();
var test = new Array ();
var controlsXML:XML = new XML();
controlsXML.ignoreWhite = true;
controlsXML.onLoad = function(success:Boolean){
if (success){
var mainnode:XMLNode = controlsXML.firstChild;
var controlNodes:Array =
controlsXML.firstChild.firstChild.firstChild.firstChild.childNodes;
var list:Array = new Array();
for (var i:Number = 0; i < controlNodes.length; i++) {
var personnode:XMLNode = controlNodes
.attributes.Name;
trace(personnode);
testTopic.push (new struct (personnode));
var specificNode:Array = controlNodes.childNodes;
for (var j:Number = 0; j < specificNode.length; j++){
var itemnode:XMLNode = specificNode[j].attributes.Variable;
trace(itemnode);
test.push (new struct2 (itemnode));
printer ();
printer2 ();
} else {
trace('error reading XML');
controlsXML.load ("controls3.xml");
The code for the movieclip duplication is as follows:
x = 50;
function printer ()
for (m = 0; m < testTopic.length; m++)
duplicateMovieClip ( slotTopic, "slotTopic" + m, m );
slotTopic = eval ( "slotTopic" + m );
slotTopic._y += x;
slotTopic.slotTopicContent.text = testTopic[m].personnode;
function printer2 ()
for (k = 0; k < test.length; k++)
duplicateMovieClip ( slot, "slot" + k, k );
slot = eval ( "slot" + k );
slot._y += x;
slot.slotContent.text = test[k].itemnode;
function struct (personnode)
this.personnode = personnode;
function struct2 (itemnode)
this.itemnode = itemnode;
On the stage are two movieclips, titled "slotTopic" and
"slot". Within those are dynamic text boxes titled respectively
"slotTopicContent" and "slotContent". When I preview this file it
only displays the text within the "slot" movieclip and it lists all
six of the subtopics with no break. So, there are two dilemmas:
1) The movieclips won't duplicate into the structured set of
links that I want.
2) "slotTopic" is not displaying text at all.
If anyone has any advice, I'd really appreciate it.
Thx!

ok, I'm sorry but there are quite a few things wrong here.
first though, when posting code please use the 'attach code'
button.
1) i can't imagine that you have a XML structure as deep as
your calling to or the need for it with the limited amount of
infomation your pulling, in addition your storing the info in
attributes, so I can't see how this would work, it may 'trace' out
the right text (somehow) but it's not getting into the arrays
properly.
2) you do not assign an attribute value to a XMLNode, and
then try to push it into an array.
3) you do not call a method (struct or struct2) using the
'new' operator. this is how you envoke a new 'class' instance.
4) do not use 'x' as a variable name as it is a reserved var
in flash, assigned to an Object instance.
5) the duplicateMovieClip() method needs to be called upon
the existing clip as in:
slotTopic.duplicateMovieClip('slotTopic'+m, m);
additionally you can pass the _y placement within the
initObject.
6) you do not need to use eval, it isn't doing anything here,
you will gain the correct path by calling duplicateMovieClip
correctly.
7) the reason why slotTopic is not being displayed at all is
because of the second loop, you are duplicating the clips
(incorrectly) into the same depths thereby replacing all of the
contents of the slotTopic depths previously constructed.
the solution to this problem is to construct both items with
the same loop but increament one of the depth assignments by a
specific number, in other words at depths much higher or at least
different, than that of the first element, as in:
slotTopic.duplicateMovieClip('slotTopic'+m, m, {_y:50});
slot.duplicateMovieClip('slot'+(m+100), m+100, {_y:50});
again I'm sorry man, but it will take some work to sort this
out.

• How to add new elements in an array of Objects of Type Figure??

I have a Figure class which has many attributes(variables). Then I create an array of Figures for example
Figs[] figures = new Figure[18];
Later I need to add new Figures to this array at different positions. In my case I have to use the same array.
Is there any way so I can add new Figure elements to this array??
If u have an answer to this question, please share with me.
Thanks
Amit

There are many ways to solve this problem, including creating new arrays as needed, and using System.arraycopy() to move things around. However, the best way is to use ArrayList, as discussed above.
What you cannot do is use toArray() and cast back to String[]. Object[] is not a subclass of String[], even if all of the objects in the Object[] are Strings!
There are two ways to get around this. Create a String[] and copy the Object[] into it with System.arraycopy, or the easy way, which is to use the toArray(Object[]) method. It allows you to specify by example the array class you wish returned. If the array is large enough, it will populate the array directly, otherwise it will create a new one of the same base class. That means any of the following approaches will work, the final decision is mostly a matter of style:
// create a zero length array to pass as an exemplar
public final static String STRING_ARRAY_TYPE[] new String[0];
String s[] = (String[]) a.toArray(STRING_ARRAY_TYPE);Or:
String t[] = new String[a.size()];
a.toArray(t);Or:
String t[] = a.toArray(new String[a.size()]);;I prefer the first approach generally, and it avoids any race conditions between the evaluation of the ArrayList size and the toArray; however, since ArrayList methods are not synchronized, you probably should do some synchronizing of your own.
Hope this helps.

• How to add scroll bar within af:showDetail

I have added a af:panelGroupLayout to af:showDetail, and set the "layout" property of the panel group layout out to "scroll". However, the scroll bar still does not show up within af:showDetail. If I set the height for the panel group layout within af:showDetail, then the scroll bar shows. But then it will not stretch vertically upon stretching the dialog vertically. • How to add elements into java string array?

I open a file and want to put the contents in a string array. I tried as below.
String[] names;
s = new Scanner(new BufferedReader(new FileReader("outfile.txt")));
while (s.hasNext()) {
String item = s.next();
item.trim();
email = item;
names = email;
}But I know that this is a wrong way of adding elements into my string array names []. How do I do it? Thanks.

Actually you cannot increase the size of a String array. But you can create a temp array with the lengt = lengthofarray+1 and use arraycopy method to copy all elements to new array, then you can assign the value of string at the end of the temp array
I would use this one:
String [] sArray = null;
s = new Scanner(new BufferedReader(new FileReader("outfile.txt")));
while (s.hasNext()) {
String item = s.next();
item.trim();
email = item;
sArray = addToStringArray(sArray, email);
* Method for increasing the size of a String Array with the given string.
* Given string will be added at the end of the String array.
* @param sArray String array to be increased. If null, an array will be returned with one element: String s
* @param s String to be added to the end of the array. If null, sArray will be returned.(No change)
* @return sArray increased with String s
public String[] addToStringArray (String[] sArray, String s){
if (sArray == null){
if (s!= null){
String[] temp = {s};
return temp;
}else{
return null;
}else{
if (s!= null){
String[] temp = new String[sArray.length+1];
System.arraycopy(sArray,0,temp,0,sArray.length);
temp[temp.length-1] = s;
return temp;
}else{
return sArray;

• How to add an element to an array, then be able to remove it specifically

So i have a list of numbers. The user is able to then add numbers to that list. I have a button which allows the user to remove any number of their choice by typing that number in a textbox. For some reason the numbers that the user add to the list will not dissapear when chosen whereas the original numbers go away no problem.
The name of the array itself is mesEntiers and the name of the texbox is : IntegersIn_txt
Here is the code :
function supprimer(event:MouseEvent):void
var indiceChiffre:int;
indiceChiffre =(mesEntiers.indexOf(IntegersIn_txt.text));
// La méthode indexOf renvoie l'indice d'un élément ou -1 si non trouvé.
trace("testBtn")
if (indiceChiffre != -1)
for (var i=indiceChiffre; i <mesEntiers.length; i++)
mesEntiers[i] = mesEntiers[i+1];
trace("test")
mesEntiers.pop();
} // Fin fonction supprimer.

Two things I can think of (I ran a small test)...
1) Make sure your textfield is a single line, not multiline... multilines end up with extra stuff in them that you can't see.
2) Convert the text into a number unless the array is holding strings... indiceChiffre =(mesEntiers.indexOf(Number(IntegersIn_txt.text)));

• Using an array within an array, and exporting to CSV

I am gathering data about an AD user, including group membership and I want to output that to a CSV. Easy enough right? Not so much :) I am successfully generating 2 arrays, one has user data and the 2nd has group membership, but it's not exporting properly
to CSV. I've tried the -notypeinformation but it's still showing up.
My code is below, followed by contents of CSV file in text format.
cls
#declare array to use
$user_main = @()
$arrGroups = @()
$user = Get-ADUser -Filter {samaccountname -eq "MyUserName"} -Properties *
$temp_user.Name = $user.Name
$temp_user.SAMname = $user.SamAccountName
$temp_user.lastpwchange = $user.PasswordLastSet
$temp_user.lastlogon = $user.LastLogonDate
#get group membership
$groups = $user.memberof
foreach ($group in $groups)
$temp1 = $group.Split(",")
$group_name = $temp1[0].Substring(3, $temp1[0].Length -3)
#$arrGroups += New-Object -TypeName psobject -Property $temp
$arrGroups += $group_name
$user_main += New-Object -TypeName psobject -Property $temp_user
#$user_main | select * | Format-Table
#$arrGroups
$new = $user_main + $arrGroups
Export-Csv -InputObject $new -Path c:\test\test.txt -NoTypeInformation -Encoding "utf8"
Write-Host ""
Write-Host "Done"
The resulting text file contains:
"Count","Length","LongLength","Rank","SyncRoot","IsReadOnly","IsFixedSize","IsSynchronized"
"45","45","45","1","System.Object[]","False","True","False"
So I have 2 issues. One is the "export-csv -notype" isn't working quite right, not sure why. And secondly, you can see the System.Object[] entry, which I believe is my array of groups. I need that to display the names of the groups the user belongs
to.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

• Object array - how to add items?

Hello!
I have little problem, how to add item to array, to get something like this:
Object[][] someObject = {
{"1", "2"},
{"4","5"}
};From this:
Object[][] someObject = {
{"1", "2"}
};? Thanks in advance!

Once you allocate an array like that, you can't
resize it.
Object[][] someObject = {
{"1", "2"}
};creates an array with size [1][2]. You can't makeit
any larger. You can create a new Object[][]
with the new size, copy the elements into the new
array, then add your new objects in the newposition.
or even better use arraylistExcept that he's using this for a JTable, so the best he could do is a Vector. Yuck. :)

• How to add a 2D result array to the result database?

I am using Teststand 3.5 and I am about to create a Labview VI that will measure the gain response of a receiver. This VI will output it as an 2D-Array and I would like to save it to my access result database, to be able to use that data for displaying a graph in my excel report.
I am new to teststand and I already know how to add a 2D-array to a report but don't really know how to add this information to the database. I read the provided manuals and searched the forums but didn't find anything that was really helpful. AFAIK I can add numerics and strings to the database just by adding a string value or numeric limit test but when it comes to arrays (especially 2D), I have no idea how to do that. I only know (or guess) that I have to add a new table to my database, edit the schema and the Database.seq.
I appreciate any help!
Stephan

Stephan,
Sometimes forum posts make you research a particular functionality of TestStand and lead you to discover how powerfull TestStand can be. This is one of these cases. I thought that in order to save 2D arrays in TestStand we would have to customize many different aspects of the application only to learn that the functionality is fully implemented already!
First, you will have to create a new step type that contains a 2D array in the Step.Result properties.
Second, in order to save a 2D array into a database, use the Binary Column Type in your table. To do this, create a new table with the following properties:
Type: Recordset
Command text: "SELECT * from [Table Name]"
Apply to: Step Result
Types to Log: [Step type with which you are acquiring your 2D array]
Lock Type: Optimistic
The rest of the properties can be left with their default values. Once you have your table, add an ID column as your primary key, and a second column that will contain the 2D array. This column should have the following properties:
Type: Binary
Size: 1.5 times the size of your array in bytes
Expected Properties: Logging.StepResult.[Property Containing the Array]
Expression: Logging.StepResult.[Property Containing the Array]
The rest of the properties can be left with their default values. In order to see the values stored in the database, open the Database Viewer to the particular table and right click on the field which will show a value of "Binary Data". Right click on the value and select Evaluate Data. The View Binary Data window will let you see all the values stored in the array.

• How to add byte[] array based Image to the SQL Server without using parameter

how to add byte[] array based Image to the SQL Server without using parameter.I have a column in table with the type image in sql and i want to add image array to the sql image column like below:
I want to add image (RESIM) to the procedur like shown above but sql accepts byte[] RESIMI like System.Drowing. I whant that sql accepts byte [] array like sql image type
not using cmd.ParametersAdd() method
here is Isle() method content

SQL Server binary constants use a hexadecimal format:
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms179899.aspx
You'll have to build that string from a byte array yourself:
byte[] bytes = ...
StringBuilder builder = new StringBuilder("0x", 2 + bytes.Length * 2);
foreach (var b in bytes)
builder.Append(b.ToString("X2"));
string binhex = builder.ToString();
That said, what you're trying to do - not using parameters - is the wrong thing to do. Not only it is insecure due to the risk of SQL injection but in the case of binary data is also inefficient since these hex strings are larger than the original byte[]
data.

what you should do is convert the int to string and then populate the list...
int[] per_ints = tempbean.getPercents();
Integer perI[] = new Integer[per_ints.length];
for (int z = 0; z< per_ints.length; z++){
perI[z] = new Integer(per_ints[z]);
JList list2 = new JList(Integer.toString(perI));
i think this should work...but if not try to convert tempbean.getPercent() to string and making that array a string array...basically store string in the list some how....probably not the best or simplest way..but i think it should work

• How to add array of file types to file dialog box

Hi
I just want to know how to add array of file types in file dialog box vi. I know that multiple file type can be added to filedialog vi in the pattern Input string separated by semicolon (eg *.vi;*.doc;*.jpeg;*.xls). But i want file dialog which is shown in the below picture.
I think that file dialog vi call user32.dll but i don't have that header file to call that dll.
Waiting for your esteemed response.
Thanks & Regards

I'm not sure how (or even if) it can be achieved using the LabVIEW built-in open dialog, but a .NET call to openfiledialog (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.windows.forms.openfiledialog.aspx) can do what you're looking for. The .NET functions are better documentented that simple user.dll calls, so it might be easier to implement.

• How to add a character at the end of an array element that meets certain criteria.

Hi. I am using CF 9.2.1. I started learning CF yesterday, and I am trying to figure out a way to add a special character (like "?", "!"," & ") to an array row if the first row element (say, element [1][1]) has a specific letter like " t" in the word it is holding. In this case the special character will be added at the end of the last row element (element [1][3]).
Example: The take columns are: "Firstname", "Lastname", "Age". If Firstname contains an "s" or "S" (in any order) then add "!" at the end of the row so that :
Sam, Rubins, 26 !
Nick, Palo, 32
Robert, Williams, 28
Oscar, Ramirez, 23 !
I tried using the ReReplace, Refind and the #findoneof functions. I could probably loop through the array and return a value and store, while storing the value in a separate variable and using an if/Boolean function to compare that value and so on.... But I am sure there's an easier and more efficient way. Thanks in advance.
