How to add control statement in Ant build file

I don't know where to publish this question.
if here is not the right place, can you tell me?
I want to use Ant to run a java program.
but the program can only deal with one file each time.
So, I want to get all files' name and run it in a "while" or "for" statement.
Thanks

Simple stats. Buying 2 lottery tickets instead of one, gives you 2 chances to win the lottery prize. Not 1. Even though the odds of winning per ticket remains unchanged.
2 disks buy you 2 tickets in The-Drive-Failure lottery.
Back in the 90's, BT (British Telecom) had a 80+ node OPS cluster build with Pyramid MPP hardware. They had a dedicated store of scsi disks for replacing failed disks - as there were disk failure fairly often due to the number of disks. (a Pryamid MPP chassis looked like a Xmas tree with all the scsi drive LEDs, and BT had several)
In my experience - one should rather expect a drive failure sooner, than later. And have some kind of contingency plan in place to recover from the failure.
The use of symbolic links instead of striping the filesystem protects from the complete loss of the enchilada if a volume member fails, but it does not reduce the risk of loosing data.
I would rather buy a single ticket for the drive failure lottery for a root drive, than 2 tickets in this case. And using symbolic links to "offload" non-critical files to the 2nd drive means that its lottery ticket prize is not a non-bootable server due to a toasted root drive.

• Ant Build File Invalid

Hello,
I am trying to create a simple build.xml, but for some reason JDev will not acknowledge it as a valid ant file. Below is my ant file. How do I tell JDev its a valid ant file? I guess I should say that I am trying to integrate JDev JUnit with Cactus. Here are the steps I have tried thus far:
Right click on project -- select preferences
Click on Ant -- select project build file via browse button.
Select file listed below.
Get error: A valid Ant build file must be specified.

Thanks so much!

I figured this resolved this issue. For some reason JDeveloper did not reconize the build.xml file as a valid ant build file until I closed it and re-started it.

Hi
This is a known issue addressed by CR205204
As you said, IBM actually does not have rt.jar in its JDK - they have moved contents of rt.jar into various jars.
IBM is not using org/apache/crimson/tree/ in their JDK at all.So the error shows up in the end of build even if it succeeds
You may need to add crimson.jar to wlwBuild classpath, since it is not part of IBMs JDK.
Note: the build will work even w/o crimson.jar giving a non build related IDE exception in the very end.
Thanks

• Recompilation and ant build file

Hi, all
I already set precompile to false in weblogic.xml. However, when we deploy, the JSPs are recompiled again claiming that they are stale. And we are using workshop ant build file. And I found out that the timestamps of compiled classes of JSPs are elder than JSP because the ant build copies the classes first to staging directory. See the following;
<for-each-resource-path>
<echo level="info" message=".resource.path= ${.resource.path}"/>
<if>
<available file="${.resource.path}"/>
<then>
<if>
<isfile path="${.resource.path}"/>
<then>
<copy file="${.resource.path}" tofile="${staging.dir}/${.resource.prefix}"/>
</then>
<else>
<copy todir="${staging.dir}/${.resource.prefix}">
<fileset dir="${.resource.path}" includes="${.resource.include}" excludes="${.resource.exclude}"/>
</copy>
</else>
</if>
</then>
</if>
</for-each-resource-path>
Is there any work-around to solve this? I don't want recompilation to occur again during deployment. Thanks in advance.
Stephen

First of all, why exactly do you care if it recompiles all the JSPs on deployment (precompile=true), even if it doesn't need to? This isn't a user experience problem, as all the pages would be compiled by the time a user referenced the page.
If you want to avoid compiling JSPs on deployment, then have your build process compile the JSPs, include the generated servlet classes, and exclude the JSPs the generated classes were based on.

• Separating ant build file

hi,
is it possible to separate ant build file (build.xml) insto separate smaller build files for easier reading?
Thankx
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to All

i tried but seems does not work... or i did something wrong.
i specified as such:
<include name="${base}/bin/**">
is this correct?
regards
i can use <include name="**/bin/**"> but i do not
like it since other folder may contain bin
directory..Specify the 'bin' directory relative to the base
directory - the directory contaiing the build.xml
file unless you have specified differently using the
'basedir' attribute of the project.
OR
specify the absolute path to the bin directory.
It is usualy better to specify the path relative to
the 'basedir'.

• How to add event handler for outlook build in control through programmatically

Hi,
There is requirement in my plug in where i need to intercept outlook native attach file method.If user attach more than specified
exchange limit , i need to perform some operatoin. I found that there is way to add "Onaction" method for built in control like this " <command idMso="AttachFile" onAction="CatchExchangeWarning"/> ".
I have to do the same thing via programmatically .I need to attach this event handler through programmatically since my add is not developed by xml file.
Thanks

Hello,
It looks like you are interested in the
BeforeAttachmentAdd event of Outlook items. It is fired before an attachment is added to an instance of the parent object. So, you can analyze the attachment object passed as a parameter and set then Cancel argument - set
it to true to cancel the operation; otherwise, set to false to allow the Attachment to
be added.
Also the Outlook object model provides the
AttachmentAdd event for Outlook items. It is fired when an attachment has been added to an instance of the parent object. You can also analyze the attachment object passed as a parameter to the event handler. You will not be able to
cancel the action in that case.

• How to add control buttons using Java thorugh serial port?

Hi everyone,
I'm new to this forum.
I have some questions on Java and serial port.
I want to write a Java program to control my robot, through serial port. For example, when I click "Forward", the robot will go forward, and so on.
Now I already have the buttons, so next I would like to ask how to interface the buttons with the serial port.
I already have all the javax.comm things installed.
below is the code for my buttons:
import java.awt.*;
public class ControlButtons extends java.applet.Applet
GridLayout myLayout = new GridLayout(3, 3);
Button button1 = new Button(" ");
Button buttonForward = new Button("Forward");
Button button2 = new Button(" ");
Button buttonLeft = new Button("Left");
Button buttonStop = new Button("Stop");
Button buttonRight = new Button("Right");
Button button3 = new Button(" ");
Button buttonReverse = new Button("Reverse");
Button button4 = new Button(" ");
public void init()
setLayout(myLayout);
add(button1);
button1.setVisible(false);
add(buttonForward);
add(button2);
button2.setVisible(false);
add(buttonLeft);
add(buttonStop);
add(buttonRight);
add(button3);
button3.setVisible(false);
add(buttonReverse);
add(button4);
button4.setVisible(false);
}Now I would like to ask for direction on how to add in the code to make it work with serial port.
Thanks

The plan is, I have a robot device connected to the serial port.We don't know anything about that device. We don't know how to control it. We don't know what you have to write to the device to make it do anything. Only you know what.
For example, when I click "Forward", the robot will go forward, and so on.So what do you have to send to make it do that? and same for the other buttons.
Next, you need to work out from the javax.comm API how to open the serial port and send data to it. This is a standard exercise in learning a new API. You must be able to do this. Again and again.
But the program is useless. The button can be clicked, but didn't do anything.Because (a) they have no ActionListeners and (b) there is no code to send anything to the serial port.
You have to write all that. So you also have to look up ActionListener in the Java API and how to attach it to a button. You can do that. We all do that kind of thing every day.
So next I would like to ask how to interface the buttons with the serial port.You've been asking nothing else since you started, but you've also only done enough investigation of your own to create the buttons. That's only the start.
The problem is what method and command should I use to make those buttons actually functioning.See above. You've been told part of it several times. The rest only you can answer, because it's your robot.

• How to add a state to an existing state machine?

Hello,
I have a state machine with 5 states. See attached vi (LabVIEW 7.1).
Now I want to add another state ("wait") between state Druck Aufbau and Druck Abbau. How can I do that?
I tried to add a state to the enum on the left and then I noticed that I would have to modify every enum in the vi and the case structure as well.
Is there an easier way?
Greetings Johannes
Using LabVIEW 7.1 and 2009 recently

You should replace all enums of the state machine with your type def'ed one. Thus, every change you make will be propagated throughout your state machine. When you need to add or delete states, change the typ def (so the Enum.ctl), and then all the enums will change. Thats the very reason of type definitions. In future, always use type defed enums.

Hi Rob,
I included the weblogic.jar of weblogic 9.0 in the lib and the classpath.And changed the weblogic.ejbc to weblogic.appc as weblogic.ejbc is deprecated.
But again i'm getting this error while running the ant script.
Part of the ant script where is error is encountered

<target name="4-ejbc" depends="3-jar_ejb">
<java classname="weblogic.appc" fork="true" jvm="D:\jdk1.5.0_06\bin\java">
<arg line="-compiler javac ${dist}/std_${destfile} ${dist}/${destfile}"/>
<classpath>
<pathelement path="${cp}"/>
</classpath>
</java>
</target>
And Error is :
