How to add Manufacturer Serial Number in MIGO

Dear Expert,
Could someone enlighten me how to configure in SAP MM module to include new fields in MIGO -> Details Data -> Serial Numbers Tab.
New fields to be added such as Manufacturer Serial Number and customized field.

Hi,
Whether you want to use the SAP Serial No and its control OR only you want to capture the serial no for information purpose.
If you want to have all the controls of inventory then go fo std. SAP Serial No. Profile and use it. Also it is  not possible to increase field length of serial no and SAP also doesn't support for it.
If it is just for information purpose then are you using Batch managment functionality of SAP, if yes then use batch classifcation and create Serial No as characteristics. (CL02 - Class / CT04 - Characteristics)
And then assign the class to material master with class type 023 and during GR in MIGO, under Batch classification, maintain the characteristics value for Serial No.

We produce our own serial number and Maintain the manufacturing serial number in serial number master data for traceability purpose. In case any enquiry come from customer like your particular serial number is damage or quality issue. In that case if that component procure from supplier . we  inform supplier about there defective plant and claim on same.

    Hi,
You need to define this in IMG for your requirment
Goto SPRO - Sales and Distribution - Basic Functions - Serial Numbers - Determine Serial Number Profiles
In this choose your serial number profile:
select "Serializing procedures", & inside select "SDLS" - Maintain Delivery
    In this you enter "03"
Additionally you can also do in "Incompletion log"
Goto SPRO - Sales and Distribution - Basic Functions - Log of Incomplete Items - Define Incompleteness Procedures.
In this define new procedure for H Delivery Item.
In the procedure pass entries like - V50UC   SERIAL  Serial number reqmt not satisfied  PSER_T  58
Finally attached this procedure to your delivery item category
    Thats it.
    Hope this helps you

  • IB:How to update a serial Number which has Inventory Material Transactions?

    Dear friends
first of all thanks for your time and valuable solutions
Install base: How to update a serial Number which has Inventory Material Transactions
    problem description:
    Install base > quick search
Here is Installbase record, when I query from quick search
Rec#     Item          Item Instance           Serial Number          Status
    1     300-7000-01      3000000           1000XXX-0538JQ0003 Return for Adv Exchange
    2     300-7000-01     8000000               1000XXX-0538JQ0003-     Return for Adv Exchange
    3     300-7000-01     5000000               1000XXX-0538JQ0003-A     Return for Adv Exchange
looking above data, first and third records are the legitimate serial numbers(correct according to the client specs), second record is not legitimate since it has a dash as suffix, we found there are many illegitimate serial Numbers exists, needs to be updated with the right serial Numbers which I analyzed in excel after pulling data from mtl_material_transactions , oe_order_lines_all , mtl_serial_numbers , mtl_system_items_b
    basically these are all RMAs
I need to update the second record as 1094SUZ-0538JQ0003-B as per the guidelines, while updating I need to keep all the existing contracts, Warranty, what ever material transations it has, need to be same.
we have a package updating the serial numbers using IB API (csi_Item_Instance_Pub.update_item_instance) but it is updating only the records which has no serial numbers present for that instance, if there is a serial number already exists it is not working.
user define error msg "Serial Number 1094SUZ-0538JQ0003- has Inventory Material Transactions. This serial number cannot be used to update an existing Item Instance", but I need to update this anyway!! or am I missing something here, please advice me
below post looks like similar issue, talks about hard update, I have no clue, by doing that the updated serial number will have same transations, contracts, dates....attached to it like the previous serial number
    IB UPDATE_ITEM_INSTANCE ERROR - doesn't allow ACTIVE_START_DATE to change
would be great If you guys help me out, really appreciated!!
unfortunately I couldn't find any solutoin in metalink for the existing serial number update

Used this. May not be perfect but should get you there. Only if the table is registered (all the seeded tables should be registered) this will work.
    select distinct a.table_name,b.column_name from fnd_tables a, fnd_columns b
    where a.table_id=b.table_id
    and upper(b.column_name) like '%SERIAL%'
Also this is very old one but if you need history for this change add the history insert logic as well..

  • How to add a large number of keywords to the e-mail filter?

    Hello.
I would like to know how to add a large number of keywords to a filter.
The thing I want to accomplish, is it to add around 4000 e-mail addresses to a filter list, which checks the body of incoming e-mails, which get forwarded to me.
I don't want to outright delete them, but I would love it if it detects that the forwarded message contains one of the e-mail addresses, it would add a tag to the message.
Is it in any way possible to make a filter like this, which doesn't slow Thunderbird down to ass-crawl speed?
I tried to copy the whole list into the small filter tab, but It had no discernible effect on my messages, since some of the previously received ones, which I was sure contained the keywords, were not tagged. All it did was make the program super slow and I was forced to delete the filter.

You can look at creating a exclusion crawl rule:

You can also modify your content source starting addresses and remove onedrive:

  • How to find ThinkPad serial number if label is worn?

QuestionI'm having some trouble with my T500 ThinkPad and want to contact service, but am not sure how I can find out the machine type and serial number to provide to support when I call because the sticker on the bottom of the laptop is faded so I don't know what the S/N is. I do have one number though: [serial removed] was what I copied down from it before it became faded. I dont know what to do now, so if you have any ideas, that'd be great.
    Answer
Generally the label with type and serial information is found on the bottom of laptops and tablets and on the rear of desktop systems and on the back or along the edge of displays.   As noted by the question asked above, in some cases, the label may become worn.  To reduce / avoid this, the type / serial label was relocated to the battery compartment on some systems with removable batteries, along with the Win 7 COA.  As Win 8 does not have a COA lable, and print technologies for labels have improved, most current systems have the label on the bottom.
Some tablets may have the type and serial information label on the inside of memory door / SD card slot covers as was the case with the ThinkPad tablet type 1838/1839.
Here is a link to an article on the support site with examples of label locations for different model Lenovo systems.   If the system will not power up at all, finding the physical label is the best course of action when contacting service.
If the label is missing and the system will power up, there are several ways to easily find this information as it is written into the BIOS on the system board.
    1) Command Prompt
Run an elevated command prompt, Enter the command "wmic bios get serialnumber" (without the quotations).
    2) BIOS
Boot to BIOS (press F1 on startup) and the model type and serial number will be listed.
    3) Diagnostics - Lenovo Solution Center (LSC) or the prior Lenovo ThinkVantage toolbox.

wmic bios get serialnumber  does not work !!!!all your pages about how to find a serial number are disfunctuional !!! What a bed service

A trial versin of Adobe Premeir Elements 11 came with my Photoshop Elements 11.  How much for a serial number, and what page can I go to get one?

    javair
Good question. Here is my take on this.
Adobe is not selling Premiere Elements 11 anymore. It is now selling its current version Premiere Elements 12. And, its free tryout download from Adobe is for Premiere Elements 12. And, no problem purchasing a serial number for version 12 from them.
There should be no problem in trying out the Premiere Elements 11 as per the installation disc that came with the Photoshop Elements 11 purchase. But, when it comes to purchase of Premiere Elements 11, the only scenario that I am seeing is
Find an authorized reseller who still has Premiere Elements 11 stock. Purchase that product. And, then you have 2 choices
    a. insert the serial number that comes with the purchased Premiere Elements 11 into the tryout already installed on your computer
    or
    b. uninstall the tryout, install your purchased Premiere Elements 11 with the serial number that comes with it.
A typical place that might have a Premiere Elements 11 in stock is Amazon. Have you looked there?
You could contact Adobe for input on the matter, but I suspect that you will get steered to purchasing Photoshop Elements 12 and Premiere Elements 12.
