How to add -Select- as the first value in dropdownbox?

I am having a dropdownbox with the set of values. I need to add -SELECT- as the first and default value. Please do advise how to achieve this.

Fixed length CHAR(n) data in SQL is automatically padded with spaces. Either change the column's data type or cast to it. Also, the ISO-11179 rules are that the column should be "state_name" and not just the root attribute "state" -- state_code, state_population,
etc are a few of the confusions you created.
Another rule of RDBMS is that we do not do display formatting in the data. That is what presentation layers do. Why are you trying to fake COBOL in SQL?

How can I reduce the selection for the characteristics value in a BW query

Good morning,
I need to find out how I can reduce the selection for the characteristics values in a BW query.
In a BW query I have a characteristic "Due month".
The characteristic values shown in the query are from 01.2001->03.2007. I would like to reduce it to the last 2 years,in the query view, without deleting the data for the other years in the cube.
Do you know how this can be done?

hi,
First thing you have to do is check the report how the data is being restricted only to those months.
1) one it can be variable in which the code is written for that to populate for last few years.
or else it must have been hardcoded for these months.
Go into your report and underneath the characteristicsCALMONTH there must be an variable or hardcoding.
You need to change this here in the report.
You dont have to delete anything there.

Setting the JComboBox to the first value

I have a JComboBox in a one of the table columns. My UI is in a seperate class and the model is in a seperate class. I cannot define the JComboBox as any other specifier than private in the UI. I have added a defaultCellEditor to the combo.
Now my table model will have the setValue. My table model is in a seperate class. My parent UI frame object is being passed to it. What I want to do is everytime a value is selected , after the selection next time I click on the combo the fisrt value appears selected.
Secondly if I click on the dropdown option and click else where then the first value gets selected and my setValue for the cell never gets called. Is there any way I can avoid that.

SelectOneChoice - showing the first value as the default?

Using a selectOneChoice, how do you get the first value to show in the form as the default? It always displays a blank item when the form first comes up. I don't want the user to have to select a value for the defaults. I have 'selection required' on.

thanks - I am using ADF BC read-only view objects, but I don't see anywhere to define the selection on the VO properties? I defined the list on the front-end .jspx page by adding a selectOneChoice and defining its properties.

In ABAP i have internal table with on field(135) type c.
some time record have length 120, somtime 130 its vary on each record.
but i would like to add space at the end of each record till 135 length.

So why did you said that in your first posting? My glass sphere is out for cleaning...
Instead of type c use strings and add spaces until they have the appropriate length.
loop at outtab assigning <pout>.
while strlen( <pout>-val ) < 135.

While this may save code, if used frequently it will be ineffecient as all [explicative deleted]. The danger is that it would be used even for repeatable statements.
This mode of operation ensures that every statement [calling the funciton] needs to be reparsed, which is extremely expensive in Oracle (in CPU cycles, recursive SQL and shared pool memory).
Such reparsing is rarely a good thing for the environment ... it could easily lead to buying more CPU (bigger box) and therefore adding more Oracle license ... which could quickly exceed the typical developer's salary.
However - if you really, really want to do this, look up 'execute immendiate' in the PL/SQL manuals.

Pass the sale order number in the object key of NAST table,
if u get 3 entires, then u need to place ur entry in the fourth row in that table control thru BDC.
