How to align JLabels and set them to the rightmost position before the JTextField?

I don't know if this is the right group to ask in.
I am using the miglayout,
and I want every JLabels to locate at
the rightmost position next to the JTextField after it
so that there won't be any gaps between
the JLabels and the JTextFields
Any example to show
Thanks
Jack

  • Align JLabels and JTextFields vertically in different areas

I like to have 3 TitledBorders for 3 different areas of my frame.
Each area has its own components - JLabels, JTextField, etc.
How to align JLabels and JTextFields vertically in different areas?
e.g. for the following test program, how to configure label1, label2, label3 so that their right sides all align vertically and
tf1, tf2, tf3 so that their left sides all align vertically?

I add some labels & components to your demo program.
Most of the components align vertically.
How to align the "Country", "Test2" & "Extension" labels on the right sides?
How to align their corresponding components so that their left sides all align vertically?
How to make the Cancel button stick to the Save button
(i.e. eliminate the gap between the Cancel and the Save button)?

  • FILES: how do I get rid of EXEC status and set them to open with "none"?

I dropped my laptop and damaged the drive. My computer forensic friend salvaged specific files.
Transfered to a FAT32 drive and then copied to Mac.
Most of files are fine with the exception of some setings files that showed up as Unix executables. The few original files that I have to compare them to, show "Document" as the file "Kind" and the "open with" shows "none" in Get Info
When I look at the contents of the files they look fine. How do I get rid of the EXEC status and set them to open with "none"?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
These are settings files for a set of .wav samples for an AU drum plug-in.

If you have xcode installed, you might want to find out what the type and creator code for these files should be. Since the files have visited a FAT32 file sytem, you will have lost all resource forks as well as type and creator HFS+ meta data.
So assuming you do have xcode, create a new AU drum plug-in file then in the terminal:
    <pre style="padding-left: .75ex; padding-top: .25em; padding-bottom: .25em; margin-top: .5em; margin-bottom: .5em; margin-left: 1ex; max-width: 80ex; overflow: auto; font-size: 10px; font-family: Monaco, 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; color: #444; background: #eee; line-height: normal">/Developer/Tools/GetFileInfo newfile</pre>
    Then use:
    <pre style="padding-left: .75ex; padding-top: .25em; padding-bottom: .25em; margin-top: .5em; margin-bottom: .5em; margin-left: 1ex; max-width: 80ex; overflow: auto; font-size: 10px; font-family: Monaco, 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; color: #444; background: #eee; line-height: normal">/Developer/Tools/SetFile -t '(insert type)' -c '(insert creator)' oldfile</pre>
If there's a lot of these you might automate the process using the find command.

You have to reset the device to Factory Settings in order to restore it from an iCloud backup. You probably want to back it up as is before you do this.
To do the reset after you have backed up the current device, go to Settings>Reset>Reset all Content & Settings. This will erase the device. If you are signed onto iCloud with Find My iPhone turned on, go to Settings>iCloud and scroll to the bottom to sign out of iCloud before you do the reset.
Once you have reset your device, you will set it up like a new phone. When it asks if you want to restore it from an iCloud backup, select the backup you want to restore it from.

When I flag an email with my gmail account using Apple's Mail App how do I flag and set a reminder that at a specific to time to follow up with that email ?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
If you are unable to remember your password, security questions, don’t have access to your rescue address or are unable to reset your password for whatever reason, your only option is to contact Apple ID Support, upon speaking to an operator you should explain that your problem is related to your Apple ID, this way you will not be charged for assistance, even if you don’t have an AppleCare plan.
The operator will take you through some steps you may have already tried, however they need to be sure they have exhausted all usual approaches before trying to reset your account, so you should try to be helpful and show patience with the procedure.
The operator will need to verify they are speaking to the account holder and may ask you some questions that only the account holder could know, and you will need to answer them if the process is to proceed.
Once the operator has verified your identity they will send a message through to your device which contains an alpha numeric code, which you will need to read back to them.
Once this has been completed they will send an email to your iCloud email address after a period of 24 hours, so you should check that mail is enabled in your devices iCloud settings.
Upon receipt of the email, use the reset link provided to reset your password, after which you should be able to make the adjustments to iCloud that you wish to do.

  • Why do I have 200 GB of "backup" on my main hard drive?  Any how can I find and erase them?

I have a MBP that was recently subjected to some liquid damage and taken in for repair.  While it was being repaired, I purchased a second MBP.  My newest MBP is now my personal laptop, and I'm converting the old one over to a work laptop.  In that process, I've upgraded to Lion, and now I'm trying to free up as much hard drive space as possible.  I have already deleted all of the music, photos and videos from the hard drive.  However, when I go to see how much free space I have left, it shows that I have over 200 GB of "backups" on my main hard drive.
I have never created any backups on this drive.  I only used an external HD to do Time Machine backups.  How can I locate these backups and delete them in order to free up the hard drive space?

When you open FINDER, is there a folder titled 'backups?  If not, have to tried 'search' or 'spotlight' to locate 'backups?  By any chance is your disc partitioned?
You state that you have deleted all music, photos and videos from this drive.  The graphic that you included in your query shows that these are still on the disc.
The simplest way of achieving your desired result is to open Disk Utility and erase all user data.  However that does not tell us what 'backups' is.  Pure speculation on my part, but if the disc is partitioned, maybe that is how it is represented on the graphic.
Click on the HDD on your desk top using Command 'I' and see if available space correlates with the the above graphic.  If not this suggest a software issue.
If it does, you have to locate 'backups'.  As alluded to previously, try SEARCH and SPOTLIGHT.  200GB is hard to hide.  Another technique is to open finder and press COMMAND 'J'.  Click on 'size' and 'calculate all sizes'.  If one of those files is over 200 GB, you have located your culprit.
Better yet wait for someone who knows exactly what the problem is and will give a simple answer.  I admit I'm grasping at straws here, but maybe I've at least given a bit of a starting point.  Good luck.
    Ciao.

Hi, Can anyone recommended software to import dvd to iMovies. I need to import about a dozen homemade DVD's and edit them into a single DVD comprising the 'best bits'. How best can I do this. I have an external hard drive available for the job

You need to convert the VOB files in the TS-Folder of the DVD back to DV which iMovie is designed to handle. For that you need mpegStreamclip:
    http://www.squared5.com/svideo/mpeg-streamclip-mac.html
which is free, but you must also have the  Apple mpeg2 plugin :
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/D2187Z/A/quicktime-mpeg-2-playback-component-f or-mac-os-x
(unless you are running Lion in which case see below))
    which is a mere $20.
Another possibility is to use DVDxDV:
    http://www.dvdxdv.com/NewFolderLookSite/Products/DVDxDV.overview.htm
    which costs $25.
For the benefit of others who may read this thread:
Obviously the foregoing only applies to DVDs you have made yourself, or other home-made DVDs that have been given to you. It will NOT work on copy-protected commercial DVDs, which in any case would be illegal.
And from the TOU of these forums:
    Keep within the Law
No material may be submitted that is intended to promote or commit an illegal act.
Do not submit software or descriptions of processes that break or otherwise ‘work around’ digital rights management software or hardware. This includes conversations about ‘ripping’ DVDs or working around FairPlay software used on the iTunes Store.
If you are running Lion or later:
    From the MPEG Streamclip homepage
The installer of the MPEG-2 Playback Component may refuse to install the component in Lion. Apple states the component is unnecessary in Lion onwards, however MPEG Streamclip still needs it. See this:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3381
To install the component in Lion, please download MPEG Streamclip 1.9.3b7 beta above; inside the disk image you will find the Utility MPEG2 Component Lion: use it to install the MPEG-2 Playback Component in Lion. The original installer's disk image (QuickTimeMPEG2.dmg) is required.
The current versions of MPEG Streamclip cannot take advantage of the built-in MPEG-2 functionality of Lion. For MPEG-2 files you still need to install the QuickTime MPEG-2 Playback Component, which is not preinstalled in Lion. (The same applies to Mountain Lion even though that has it preinstalled.) You don't have to install QuickTime 7.

  • How do I get and set column attributes in a table or a treetable with Java?

    Using 11.1.1.4.0
    Hi,
How do I get and set column attributes in a table or a treetable with Java? For a simple example, say I have a table and want certain roles to see all columns (including address), and other roles can see only certain columns (no address). In a Java method, I want to test if a table's column visible attribute is true and if so, set it to false before rendering it.
    Thanks in advance,
    Troy

    Hi,
this use case would be a perfect example for using seeded MDS customization. Instead of checking what users are allowed to see or not upon rendering time, you have a customization class and thus the framework doing this for you.
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/learnmore/31-mds-sample-169173.pdf
In this paper and sample, specific users see different layouts. It also contains a customization class that shows how this can leverage ADF Security

  • HT4972 How can i download a folder of photos from my computer and have them appear on my ipad in the same order as they were in on my computer

How can I download a photo folder from my computer and have them appear on my ipad in the same order as they were on my computer

The sort order on iOS 5+ is by the photos 'date modified' field, on iOS 4 it's the 'date taken' - so you will need to modify that field on your photos.
Or you could consider using a third-party photo management app such as Photo Manager Pro which allows you to change the sort order within the app e.g. by date, size, type or you can drag them into your own sort order.

  • HT1349 how do I restore and set up as new? I need a passcode. What is that and where do I find it?

HOw do I restore and set up my phone as new? It asked for a passcode.  What is that?

Is it asking for a 4 digit passcode at the lock screen or is it asking for a password to activate?

How to store receipes and print them?

If you download and install Adobe Reader for your iPad or iPhone, you could download recipes in the PDF format and store them. If you have an AirPrint-compatible printer, you could print them to your device.

  • I'm trying to make "Stop motion videos"  in Final Cut EXPRESS by using 100's of still photos and setting them to music.  They are coming out blurry if viewed larger than 4x6 in size

I'm trying to make "Stop motion videos"  in Final Cut EXPRESS by using 100's of still photos and setting them to music.  They are coming out blurry if viewed larger than 4x6 in size.
I don't understand why this is happening.

Quick follow up, since I was on my phone earlier and am back to a real keyboard.
To access Easy Setup, hit Control Q.
If you click on the blue discosure triangles, a dropdown menu with about a dozen different presets will be displayed. Select the one you want, (Here, I've selected 720P.)
Whatever you select for a preset will not be applied until you make a new sequence. (I don't like to have sequences with different properties in the same project so I prefer to make a new project if I change the Easy Setup.)
Because photo aspect ratios are different than video, I typically put a solid generator of some compatible color on the first track (v1) and put my photos on the track above (v2). Looks better, IMO, than black bars. There are other creative ways to display them. And of course, you could scale them up to fill the frame…but then you probably would have to re-position them.
    Good luck.
