How to Apply Security or Remove in Batch using Acrobat X

I’m using Acrobat X Pro. I’ve used Acrobat Pro 6-9. I need to remove security in batch and apply security to about 100 PDFs. I’m totally lost in Acrobat X. Where are all of the batch sequence commands that were in Acrobat 9? Can anyone point me to an article or tutorial on batch sequences and the new “Action Wizard”.

Basically, you have to change Acrobat's preferences (edit --> Preferences --> Action Wizard) to prompt for a password by default. That way, it can actually access the PDFs you're trying to work with.

So, I have the same goal (mass decrypt some PDFs), but a different problem.
If I have a step saved in the Action Wizard to "encrypt" the PDFs, with the security method set to "none." I have a bunch of PDFs with encryption on, but no password saved.
However, when I run the process, it doesn't actually remove the encryption.

If you would like to implement security trimming on site action through custom code then following could help you,
In your visual studio project create a class which implements System.Web.UI.WebControls.WebControl. In the
CreateChildControls Method you could get the FeatureMenuTemplate control which is SharePoint’s
WelcomeMenuTemplate.
After creating control, you could add it as an menu item into your site action menu using a
customaction xml.
You could get the child controls from this and can remove them as required.
Note: using this approach, if you have User profile service running then it will not remove the “About Me” link. But if you have forms authentication enabled then you could change your logic to remove this link.

Hi,
If you want to apply security to a dashboard (object level security so that some people can see the dashboard and other can't), then you don't do this in the RPD but through the administration screens after logging into OBIEE. Here you can defined which webgroups can see a dashboard.

How to save and then close a PDF Using Acrobat 9 (URGENT)

I have been looking for a soultion for long time now but
couldn't find any.
I'm using a dynamic PDF form desgined using LC Desginer and created a button that should save the current opened form in the same location (no need to define the location because what I want to use is the command File -> Save) and then close the application (I'm using Acrobat 9 Pro Extended).
I tried many scripts and gone throw JavaScript™ for Acrobat® API Reference but no luck.
Once I click on the button I get the following error: NotAllowedError: Security settings prevent access to this property or method.
Will you please help in this issue as it took long time and my project manager is pushing to get resolved ASAP.
Guys, I'm new to this kind of tecnology so please be patient with me.

The app.execMenuItem works here. Is your form designed to be opened in Acrobat/Reader or are you opening the form in html?
The form will be opened by Acrobat/Reader. The statement worked but what I need is to save the PDF in the current location without popping up the Save As dialog box. In other words I would like to perform Ctrl+Saction and then exit the application not only close the form because the Content Management Solution we are using will require the application to be closed so it can CheckIn the document.
I tried to use app.execMenuItem("Save"); but it seems it is not working because once I try to close the application or the form using app.execMenuItem("Close"); the do you want to save changes to "FORM" before closing? dialog box pops-up.
For closing the application I tried app.execMenuItem("Exit"); and I got this error: InvalidArgsError: Invalid arguments.

How does I resize a pdf file page using Acrobat Pro?

In Acrobat Pro, how can one resize a pdf file page (21.38'' x 26.75'') into one measuring 6'' x 9'', to be submitted as the trim size? Is there a feature that allows this to be done? How does one set all print options from the Application print dialog box to enable one to adjust the dimensions of any customized file page?

I want to scale the 21.4'' by 26.8'' content down to one that can be fitted inside a 6'' by 9'' book.
I have this pdf that was created from the InkFlow app, and I'm using Acrobat Pro to merge three files into one (about 300MB), which I needed to submit to Amazon's CreateSpace, but they needed the trim size of 6'' by 9'', while the pdf is 21.4''' by 26.8'', and I can't amend the source file size of the InkFlow files.
I tried fiddling with the Crop and Print options, but I'm unable to resize the pdf to match the trim size. The problem on my side isn't so much on printing but to resize the pdf file page to 6'' by 9'' to satisfy Amazon's requirement for their trim size. Could this be done with Acrobat Pro? The message that appears is: Full print options of Acrobat Pro, set all print options from the Application print dialog box. Thank for the help.

How to set up a FILLABLE timesheet/timecard using Acrobat x?

I want a FILLABLE timesheet to offer our employees (maybe even online where it will email the info electronically to me?).
Can Acrobat do time calculations? If so, how do I set that up (start time-end time=time worked). Do i have to use/enter military time in order to do the calculations?
Employees work all hours of the day. And, we only pay by quarter hours, so I only want 4 'minute' options for them to choose from as a drop down (00, 15, 30, 45...which would calculate to the x hour, x.25, x.50, x.75).

The service Phillip is referring to is a part of the Livecycle family and it's called Livecycle Extensions for Reader and yes, it is very expensive. It depends on your individual use as to how much it costs but when we had used the service before it was in the $10K per form range and yes, it requires a windows based server.
So, it depends on how many employees you have on whether you could use the enabling for Reader features offered for free in Acrobat. If you have 20-30 employees, even with new hires you should be ok (unless you have some sort of ugly turnover). If you have 400-500 employees, you would probably be over the limit in no time so in that case I would investigate other options (like possibly a web form that submits XML.)

However, Adobe sells the LiveCycle Reader Extensions Server that can be

To get security settings from user we are using AVCryptDoStdSecurity function. from that we are able to get security settings. but next we want to set those security to the pdf. For that we tried PDDocSetNewSecurityData function, but it is not setting, application crashes. what is the problem here, and how to set SecurityData to pdf.

How to avoid security information pop up when using BSP in SRM

Hi. I have created a custom BSP and have flagged it as HTTPS in the properties, and the URL does start HTTPS.
I have then put this BSP in a role in SRM and can access it from the internal ITS after logging into SRM. Obviously the main SRM URL is also HTTPS. The BSP actually does its job fine.
However, when I click on the BSP I get the security information pop up telling me that the page contains both secure and nonsecure items every time.
How can I avoid this?
I have read the article on the wiki, but it does not apply to my BSP as there are no links at all in my BSP, and everything is HTTPS.
We can not change the IE settings as all our desktops are locked down and configured in the same way from an outsource company.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi. I'd already seen that, and it is not quite the same as mine. That link is about calling a BSP as a catalog in SRM and switching from HTTPS to HTTP.
I am calling the BSP direct from the SRM main menu and everything of mine is HTTPS, I am not switching.
Do you have any other ideas?

I can create security roles and assign the role expressions using WLST. I am just curious to know that if we can apply the security policies to the applications/any weblogic resource using WLST.
If yes, Can you please let me know how I can do that? I checked the Mbeans for applications and security realm, but was unable to find a way.
I am using weblogic 81 sp6 platform.

The language used for security policies is not public in 8.1.
In 9.2, WLS supports XACML.

In idoc Fields ,I am using EMPST field from IDOC and accordingly I am putting Condition in Receiver Determination.
IF EMPST 111 Then Revceive1
IF EMPST 222 Then Revceive2
IF EMPST 333 Then Revceive3
But sometimes values also Come as 000111 or 00111 or 0111 same for Others.
I have used follwong condition in Receiver Determination.
IDOC/E1EDK01/EMPST u2248 *111
But it working fime for leading zero.
But if values come as 8111 or 78111 it is also routing message to Revceive1.
same for others.
Can you plz suggest solution?
