How to approach troubleshooting?
I have a new 10g (9.0.4) AS install on Sun Solaris; the infrastructure (minus the database which is on another server) and the middle tier are both on this box and in different oracle_homes. The infrastructure starts fine and authentication works well.
When I try to start the middle tier with opmnctl startall, it hangs:
oracle /usr2/app/oracle> opmnctl startall
opmnctl: starting opmn and all managed processes...
And opmnctl status shows that OC4J_BI_Forms is in init status forever:
oracle /usr2/app/oracle> opmnctl status
Processes in Instance: AppServ904.webdev280-4.budco.com

I'm not sure what log file to go to to figure out why it's hanging. In the OEM App Server Control, OC4J_BI_Forms is listed as Down, along with JServ, Portal:portal, and Reports Server. Help!
Check the logs under: OH/opmn/logs/*BI_For*
If that does not help, try the following in the midtier.
1. opmnctl stopall
2. opmnctl start
3. opmnctl status ( Everything should be down)
If BI_For is not down check the logs above.
4. opmnctl startproc process-type=OC4J_BI_Forms
and check the logs.

I've been given the unenviable task of troubleshooting and installing/distributing software written by a former co-worker. I've modified the LabVIEW code and built an .exe file. I've successfully installed the Labview .exe file on several computers, but it won't work on some others. What's more baffling is that I installed it successfully on one computer, uninstalled it, and tried reinstalling it with no success. In fact, it's a new error (Dr. Watson for Windows NT application error). It doesn't help that I have different versions of LabVIEW and Matlab on the target computers. Some have LabVIEW 5.1, some
have 5.0, and some don't have it at all. Some have Matlab 5.2, some have 5.3 (R11) and some have 6.0 (R12). It's also not clear to me where the Matlab m files should be located. I'm not sure if it's a LabVIEW Runtime Engine problem, or if it's a Matlab problem. I've also wondered how LabVIEW and Matlab talk to each other. When LabVIEW calls Matlab, it seems that Matlab is running in the background. In other words, clicking on the Matlab Command Window and typing "whos" or any other command/variable doesn't work.Jay del Rosario wrote:

Any ideas how to better troubleshoot VPN issue?
Hi,
I've recently upgraded my WLAN router to a brand new AVM FRITZ!Box WLAN 7390, in part for its VPN capabilities.
So far, I've been unable to create a working connection.
AVM's VPN is based on Cisco IPSec, and they provide a step-by-step procedure on how configure a Mac-based VPN connection (http://www.avm.de/de/Service/Service-Portale/Service-Portal/VPN_Interoperabilita et/16206.php - unfortunately only available in German, sorry). Following it, I still can't get it to work. Contacting their support I got first the same procedure and after pointing out I already followed it a "we don't support other vendors".
Funny enough, I got a second VPN connection to my work's VPN server just fine, though admittedly there we have a true Cisco box.
My initial setup was based on a 192.x.x.x net on my AVM, I could establish a VPN connection but coudn't ping/ssh/http/you-name-the-protocol in either direction. Our companies net is a 10.x.x.x net so, and as I have also VMware fusion running on my Mac with DHCP enabled on a different 192.x.x.x net plus a third 192.x.x.x net from my Wifi access I decided to reconfigure my AVM net to a 172.x.x.x net and stop VMware services for the tests (ie simplify as much as I could to help troubleshoot).
Alas, instead of being able to establish a non-working VPN connection, now I ain't able to get the tunnel up. IKE Phase 1 completes but Phase 2 doesn't.
Here's the relevant section from kernel.log:

An earlies test in a Starbucks around here had the same result, during looking at the netstat -nr output I found I got onto a 10.x.x.x net on the Wifi and still could connect to the (different) 10.x.x.x net at work.
My TCP/IP Networking course was around 2000, but the default route seen in the non-working log section looks like bullsh*t to me anyhow: DEFAULT-ROUTE = local-address 172.77.7.14/32
On the other hand, the Phase 2 message seem to indicate a different mode for Phase 2 between the working and the non-working one.
This is from the exported config of my AVM box:

I also noticed an extra "IPSec port-mapping update for en1 ignored" message in the non-working log section, but I'm not sure a) how significant that might be, and b) how to find out what the ignored update might have been to decide whether not ignoring it would help.
A quick test with the AnyConnect Client from Cisco didn't help either, apparently it establishes an https connection first as I got a window which certificate details from my QNAP behind the AVM Box (I got a port forward for https to it)
So I'm looking for any ideas how to better troubleshoot this VPN issue...
Many thanks in advance!
BR,
AlexOk, found a small typo in my config (had at one point a 172.77.7.14 instead of the 172.22.7.14), no I can also connect from the 172.x.x.x net but still no ping etc. The relevant section of the log looks now like this:

Hi all,
I need help with my iphone4s.
When I turn on my iphone4s, the apple logo will show for a few seconds, and it will suddenly fade off to a blank screen, and not start up. It will then restart by itself, and the cycle repeats. Any suggestions on how I can troubleshoot this problem?
What seems to be the problem here?
thanks and regards

Make sure you have the Current Version of iTunes Installed on your computer
iTunes free download from www.itunes.com/download
Then See Here > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
You may need to try this More than Once... Be sure to Follow ALL the Steps...
Take your time... Pay particular attention to Steps 3 and 4.
After you have Recovered your Device...

My Apple tv status light is blinking fast - how do I troubleshoot?
my Apple TV gen 2 status light is blinking fast and I am not able to see anything from my Apple TV - how do I troubleshoot? What I read on the Apple site is that my Apple TV has issues. My Apple TV is hard wired to my Ethernet network. It is connected to my TV using an HDMI cable. It worked in the past but when I turned it on today it did not work. I have not used it in several months and we had a bad thunderstorm here a couple weeks ago.
I'm having the same problems as you. Any solutions? This is what i'm facing
1. No video signal at all
2. Plugged in power cable only, there is no light
3. Plugged in micro usb, there is flashing light
4. Restore via iTunes is sucessful but problem still persists -
FAQ: How do I troubleshoot audio issues when importing .MTS files?
Hello. The link FAQ: How do I troubleshoot audio issues when importing .MTS files?
does not work, and i need the answer please. My imported MTS clips are not playing back audio because it seems that no audio imported with the video. Thanks, Don.Hi there
Audio plays when the object with the audio assigned appears. This is why you hear it when the Button appears.
Try assigning the audio instead to the object that appears when you click the button. Perhaps the caption.
Cheers... Rick

Need advice on how to approach interactive timeline/chart Component
For my application I need a component (or combination of components) that shows a number of different types of events along a timeline, displays them in different ways as specified and allows you to click/hover along the timeline to add/modify/get details on events.
I'm not sure if I should attempt to extend the flex advanced datagrid, or use one of the several vaguely similar component types I've found online (http://www.gantt4flex.com/, http://flexlib.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/docs/index.html?flexlib/scheduling/), or how best to approach, but I need to get this on its feet fairly quickly.
Basically I want a timeline across the top, always showing a 24hour period, but starting at variable points.
I need to have different rows of variable height to display different types of data in different ways.
for instance
- row 1 will display the 'value' attribute as a circle whose diameter reflects value amount and change color based on a 'typecode' attribute.
- row 2 will display a line graph and plot chart based on different numbers, but will also chart out trend of following or previous data if it exists.
- behind row 2 will display the same thing but for 5 previous days progressively more transparent
-row 3 will display the number values from row 2
-row 4 will display another type of data, this one with duration, as bar lines. you will be able to click with in this row once to set startpoint of new entry and once to set endpoint to create new entry. onclick..
-row 4 will display color coded squares for a number of different datatypes and hovering will reveal details.
all rows need to share the same timespan, and I'd like to be able to have click/hover events that target the data object/values of the data being displayed.
I have a data model and can come up with whatever data I need no problem (working from sqlite). But I haven't built a component from scratch before and am wondering how to approach something like this.. how to break it down etc.. any advice is greatly appreciatedhere's a mockup of sorta what I'm going for:

You need to download and install the 14.2.4 update (110MB) for Office 2011 from here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=34690
Unfortunately, if you have been lazy with updating you will also need to download:
Service Pack 1 (14.1.0), 247MB: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17198
[Service Pack 2 (14.2.0), 110MB: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29419 -> you don't have to download this]
Update 14.2.3, 110MB: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30214
These are all pre-required...
This update adds the ability to select a default text encoding for composing new messages. The encoding that is selected in composing preferences will be applied to all new messages that are sent from Mac Outlook. To access composing preferences, select Outlook, select Preferences, and then select Composing. The new preference is Preferred encoding for new messages. How to Approach for full implementation
We have a situation here that we r planning to implement
SAP BW. But here R/3 is not fully implemented. In this situation how to approach to prepare a Blueprint.
We are planning to implement SD,MM,PP,QM and FICO modules. We dont have any functional specs But we can communicate functional people. In this way how can I approach for each module.
Specially for INVENTORY and FI.
Thanks in Advance.Hi,
As per my knowledge it is better if you have data at least for 5 five years but This is not mandatory. You can have BW even for 1 year data also.
Coming to your question Please contact the users and collect their requirements.
Ask them what reports exactly they are using?
What issues they have with the existing reports?
What additional fileds or colums they are expecting in BW?
Howmany users will be there?
How many roles do they have?
do they have any third party involved in the current reporting?
Do we have to ectract the data only from R/3 or from Thrid party tool (Ex Indian Statutory)also.
How many source systems do they have?
Hope this will give you idea. please post message iy you are not clear.

How can I troubleshoot my iphone5 if it got stocked searching for my carrie?. I already tried removing the SIM card but it doesnt stop searching. I also tried using other SIM but still same result.
Try this: press F10 or tap the Alt key to display the menu bar temporarily, then
View > Toolbars > Menu Bar
If that doesn't work, you could reset your toolbars to factory default using Firefox's Safe Mode. First, make a backup of your computer for safekeeping. To back up Firefox, see [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information].
Next, start Firefox in Firefox
[http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode Safe Mode], and check only the box to reset toolbars. Be careful not to "reset" anything else if you didn't back up.
Hope this helps. -
