How to archive Z table

Dear Experts,
We have some add-on Z tables, there is a table and its size is very huge.
So we want to archive for the table.
Can we use Archive Development Kit ?
the steps are as below:
1. Creating Archiving Objects then maintenance (AOBJ)
2 . Develop archiving programs:
      - Develop write program          (required)
      - Develop delete program (required)
      - Develop read program           (optional)
      - Develop reload program (optional)
Or could you give me more good idea?

For the Creation Of Custom Archive Objects, You need to follow the Below Steps.
1. Program Creation. (Write,Delete,Read,Reload,Preprocessing).
2. Creation Of Object Definition in AOBJ by creating the needed entries in Structure Definition.
3. Enter the Program Names.
4. Also if you want to have some dependency with any other Standard Object , You can create an entry for that in AOBJ.
5. Reload Program is same as READ , We need to add an Additional Insert command to Push Back the Records into the Table.

Are you sure you are using IBM DB2 for i as the database? I'm wondering as you are talking about tablespaces which don't exist on this plattform

How to Archive a Table ( Z table) for which there is no Archiving Object

Hi folks,
We want to archive around 16 tables tables which includes some standard tables and some z tables. We want to archive them. But after cheking in SARA we found that, there is no Archiving Object available for those tables.
So how can we archive these table? Do we need to use some z program to explicitely archive these tables of there is some mechanism in SARA to archive them?

You have to create your own archive object, first take a look at some documentation like [Archive Development Kit|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/2a/fa0391493111d182b70000e829fbfe/frameset.htm] and then [Developing Archiving Solutions|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/2a/fa042d493111d182b70000e829fbfe/frameset.htm] .. then use SARA on your z_archive_object.

Are you really creating so many notes for your objects? That table stores notes for all Mobile objects...the only way to archive it would be to archive the objects owning/creating the notes...

How to enable archive at table level

Hello Everyone,
We are having performance issue when timesheet transfer job runs since the no of records in CATSDB table is more(4,013,039 Entries).
I would like to know how to enable archiving at table level.so that timesheet transfer job doesnt run for a long time.

You can only archive data based on archiving objects and not based on individual tables as it has to maintain the consistancy within the database.

How to backup flashback data archive enabled tables -oracle 11g?

1) Whether the flashback data archive can be backed up using the following options in oracle? Any pointer from the documentation would be much appreciated.

The reason why I am asking this question is that the history data for flashback data archive table is managed by undo tablespace. In this case, if I simply export the flashback data archive enabled tables to another database, will I able to view the history information?

Thanks for your response. Our intention is that to configure the total recall feature in the reporting instance for historical data view. Let's say , we are mining the changed data from the OLTP instance to reporting instance via logical standby. In this case, the history data will be maintained in the reporting instance?

How to enter a table in FI_DOCUMNT's key_date field?

When using archiving object FI_DOCUMNT, there is a field called key_date.
My co-worker who quit the company says that a table OR functional module can be entered in that field.
Actually it is true for some other fields of the same archiving object as well.
Could you please tell me how to enter a table name or FM name in the key-date field?
I do not see that possibility. My version is 3.1H.

goto Transaction SARA , Archiving Object - IDOC - IDoc - Intermediate Document
1 .Enter the archiving object IDOC and choose the required action, here Write (= Archive).
A warning will be displayed if some of the archiving sessions for the archiving object IDoc are still incomplete. You can ignore the warning but you then run the risk of possibly archiving some IDocs twice.
2. Define the start date of the archiving session and the spool parameters (print output).
The traffic lights should now be green, indicating that these parameters have been maintained. Please note that you can set the archiving mode for the print output to Store Only and therefore avoid printing every individual archiving log. Enter the object type IDOC as the attachment parameter and use the F4 Help to select a suitable document type for the object type. Also enter a free text as Additional information for the archiving report.
4. Choose   Maintain to create a report variant. As selection parameters, enter the message type and a time period within which the IDocs received their last, current status.
5.You can specify whether you want to perform this variant as Test or Production, in the Process Flow segment of the selection parameter screen. If you choose Test, you get statistics of the processed IDocs. For a detailed log, select Detailed Log.
   6.         Choose Continue and save your variant.
   7.      Return to the archiving screen and choose .
If you selected immediately in step 3, the message New archiving job was generated is displayed in the message bar at the bottom of the screen.
       8.      You can check whether your archiving session is complete by selecting Job overview. If you choose Administration, an overview of the completed and incomplete archiving runs is then displayed. If IDocs which match your selection parameters were found in the database tables, your archiving session is displayed as a folder full of archive files.

How to archive attachments

Dear experts,
I don't know how to archive files attached to transactions?
When I archive transactions, are they also archived at the same time?
Or do I have to archive transactions and attachments separately?
'BC_LOIO' seems the archive object for me when seeing t-cd:aobj.
Please help me.

Hello,
Attachments to your business transaction will not be archived when you archive your business document.
First you have to figure out where is your attachment stored?
If it is stored in SAP Table then you can think of relocation / migration of attachments to your external content server.
If attachment is already stored in external content server then nothing to worry about these documents. Users can display Physical attachments even after you archive business document from respective archiving object.

I have been given a Change Request for Archiving a table (ZSOP_Cust). I am an FICO Consultant here. I know that arcgiving a table can effect other tables too? Can someone tell me how can i check how & which tables are effected?
Also tell me other points i shd consider before archiving this table??

Standard Archiving of standard SAP tables will handle all of the connections. It will not allow you to archive a record from a table if the ties to other tables are not closed as well. For custom tables, there are no archiving functionality. Your ZSOP_Cust table, seems to be a custom table and the ties to other standard objects are not documented in the system, hence you can blow away the entire table, and SAP will not care.

we have normal table bsec and we have created a bsec with some additional fields.
now we ann archive them.. together? or creating an own archive object?

Hi Stefan,
To archive custom tables, you should use Archive Development Kit (ADK). you can create own archive objects for custom tables and corresponding archiving programs.
For modified standard with additional fields, maybe you need to modify the archive object and the archiving programs accordingly.

ADF Desktop Integration : How to delete the table in Excel?

Hi,
I am using Jdev 11.1.1.3.0 and Excel 2007 for Oracle ADF DI, I had created an ADF table using pageDef file in the excel. Now I wanted to delete that table and use a different pageDef file.
I could not find a way to delete that table.
I deleted full row of tables and then I used different pageDef file and created a new adf table. But when I am running this version of excel, I am getting runtime exception and excel is getting corrupted.
My question how to delete the table not corrupting the Excel.

Welcome to OTN.
You can delete the table by selecting the top left column (of the table) and then select delete from the ADFdi tab.

How to update the table available in BADI method

I have to implement one badi ME_REQ_POSTED for purchase requistion, in this badi I have to read first line item and do
some check...if that check is true i need to update subsequent line item (line 20, 30, 40 or so) with purchase group and MRP controller.
In this BADI i have method POSTED, in this method parameter IM_EBAN is a table which i need to modify with my different
values for purchase group and MRP controller.
Kindly let me know how to update this table, so the changes can be reflected in purchase requistion.
Since when I tried to directly modify the table in a loop, system throw one error stating IM_EBAN can not be modified.
