How to assign date value in the report

Hi,
I want to compared between two dates. One date is dynamic and other one is fixed.
for example Date1 = today's date
Date2 = 12/31/9999
How do i fix the date2 in the report.

you can use default values in the properties of the date variable that will allow it to be the data yo uwant it to be
the 2nd date which is current use sap provided variable current data on it as restrickted value( Not default).

How to pass a value from the report to a form ( BIT OF URGENT ).

Hi,
I had created a "Form on a Table with Report" on the report I had remove the edit link and set one of the column feilds that functionality. Now I want to know how to pass that value that is clicked ( having hyper link ) on to the form where it runs a SQL query and then displays the reuslts on the form.
Illustrating with an example.
I am having these following columns on the report ( these are the results for the join statement )
JOBNUM JOBNAME DEPTNUMBER SAL EMPNO LNAME FNAME
In the above JOBNUM is having Hyper link as I removed the edit image.
Now this is area I am having problem. When the user clicked on the JOBNUM then on form it should display 20 other columns( pulled from 5 other tables ) which are related to that particualr JOBNUM.
Anybody give me a solution in which area I have to include my SQL statement and how to pass that selected value to that SQL statement.

Hi Ron,
I am doing exaclty what you have suggested me but no luck. I started changing the DEMO_CUSTOMERS application to my requirements.The report is working fine and on the report I have created a page attribute to the Hyper linked column and linked that to the page 2 and assign that attribute with #JOBNUM#.
I am able to pass that value on to form when I click on the JOBNUM. But the problem is I am not able to pass that value into the SQL query so that my query pulls 20+ columns on to the Form ( which is second page ).
Small clarification... On the form region it is said FORM NAME and type is HTML is that is the way the APEX was designed or does it need to say region type as FORM.

1. Create the transaction code,say, ZF01_TCODE from Se93
2. Choose "Transaction with parameters".. Press enter
3. Enter START_REPORT in the Transaction field and press Enter
4. Select the Skip initial screen and Inherit GUI attributes check boxes
5. On the same screen, scroll down to the Default Values table and select parameters D_SREPOVARI-REPORTTYPE and
D_SREPOVARI-REPORT.
6. Enter RW for the report type and your report group ZCC8 as the report value
7. Now you can save your transaction and transport it to other systems

I have a readonly VO with the following query
select attr1,attr2, attr3, attr4
from sometable
I have a view criteria in the above VO something like
attr1=
and attr2=
I have dragged and dropped this criteria on a Status.jsff page as query panel with table. So the user can search the records by manually entering the values in the query panel. Also, there is another page Main.jsff where, if the user clicks on a button, it redirects him to Status.jsff page carrying a numeric value from the Main.jsff page. Now I have to assign this numeric value to "attr1" of the view criteria and execute this VO and show the updated results in the Status.jsff page.
I used the below code :
ViewObject vo = appModule.findViewObject("VOName");
ViewCriteria criteria = vo.getViewCriteriaManager().getViewCriteria("CriteriaName");
criteria.getVariableManager().setVariableValue("attr1", numericValue);
vo.applyViewCriteria(criteria);

For the above code, i got an error saying that Variable "attr1" not defined in "VOName"
Then i tried setting simple where clause
vo.setWhereClause("attr1="+numericValue);
vo.executeQuery();
For this code, i got an error saying that SQL error during statement preparation.Statement: SELECT * FROM (select attr1 ,attr2,attr3,attr4,from VOName) QRSLT WHERE (attr1=1234)

The idea of Bind Variable works to query the criteria. But I have a Status.jsff page where User can even manually enter the attr1 value and query the results. When I added a bind variable to my VO, one extra input text field with the Bind variable name got added to the query panel in Status.jsff page. Also the table in the page did not show any results even after performing the executeQuery() on the VO(as per the steps explained in the Andrejus blog link that Navneeth has provided)

Im getting some values from the DB which is stored in a list , Now the list is sent across to the jsp through the bean.
I need to get the length of the list
I tried something like this.

How to assign a value to the page variable to enable partial page rendering

This is part of my code:

Now, I want to change the value of "on@ctrl:page" to "true" after user click a button so that part of the page will be displayed. But how do I assign the value to "on@ctrl:page". I tried to put the followings in my even handler:

</bc4j:setPageProperty>
But it doesn't work. Could someone pls tell me how I should do it.

Try assigning two values seperated by a delimiter ( say '|') to the same parameter.
In the function get the parameter value and seperate the values using the same delimiter.

How to spilt columns dynamically in the report based on Date Parameters

Hi All,
We have an XML Publisher report in which the parameters are Fom date and To date.
User wants the data in the report to be split dynamically based on the months in the From date and To date interval.
Eg. if the From date is 01-JAN-2013 and To date is '31-MAR-2013' then the report should show 3 columns JAN,FEB and MAR and the corresponding data.
if the From date is 01-JAN-2013 and To date is '31-MAY-2013' then the report should show 5 columns JAN,FEB,MAR,APR and MAY and the corresponding data.
Can anyone please advise, how can we spilt the months and data dynamically in the report.

well you wanted the columns to be added dynamically. the easiest way would be to use a Pivot since the columns are based on the values in the data. and if the values of that column are Month Name/Abbreviation for that date then you will get month columns.

Hi,
For unique currency, go to RSCUR, give the currency translation type and click Display.
You will enter into Edit currency conversion type screen.
Go to currency tab screen and select the source currency from data record as you are getting multiple currencies, and in target currency select appropriate option as per your requirement.
Save it and come back to query designer, go to properties of that KF, you have a conversions tab. there select the conversion type and target currency.
And regarding suppressing zeros, goto properties of the query, click on Rows/ columns tab. Under this you will find the option to supress zeros and effect on rows and columns.

I have used all the steps as you mentioned in your previous reply....including checking Mulitple Selection Check Box..
Iam able to get the results when I am selecting one value..
and also I am able to handle multiple values the in the query by using IN :Parameter, but seems when we select more than one value from the parameter drop down i think the Bi Publisher is sending the values in concatenated form something ilke
ex: "'ACCOUNT','HR','SALES'" ,and when trying to display the parameters values in the output, its throwing the error as 'missing right paranthesis' ....on the whole do you have any solution which would handle
1.Single selection.
2.Multiple selection.
3.'ALL' Values.
4.Separating the concatenated string into individual strings and dispaly them on the output of the report..etc..in case of Mulitple selection.
Ex:
Concatenated String from BI Publisher:"'ACCOUNT','HR','SALES'"
Expected Output on the report:ACCOUNT,HR,SALES

How to get rid of unassigned values in the report

hai to all,
here is the issue,
while running a report(sales per country), iam getting the data,after that when i drill down on <u><b>sales document number</b></u> iam getting some unassigned data, with Sales document number as #, and some value in the keyfigure.what is the reason behind this?
Here is another issue that i want to find all the sales documents which have the value # in the report?, is it possible? the same case with <u><b>Customer country</b></u>, on the same report.

Hi Shyam.
Regarding the first issue: Well, you've loaded some data records into your cube where the "Sales Doc Field" is empty. Did you load through PSA? The best way to scan your PSA (I believe) is to find the underlying table and have a look at it via SE16. In this way you don't have to scan through every data single package. This can be done via "display data flow" from your cube and switch on technical names. There you have it. (It's called /BIC/B00...etcetc you might have to add i few zeroes though when you enter it into SE16). Get request ID from "Infocube Managment". In SE16 seelction screen use F2 to set the "sales Doc No." field even to blank.
Second issue is a bit easier: in your query (or a working copy of your query) restrict on "Sales Doc No" or "Customer Coutry" to only include value "#". In the same way you can remove the unassigned values be excluding value "#".

How to get date appended in the filename of the IR reports

I have a requirement where in i need to generate the output for the IR reports with a date appended in the output name.
The report is scheduled daily. The generated output should have a date appended to it.
For example - if the report say 'abc' gets generated today then the name of the generated report should be abc_26/10/2009.
I could find one option saying append date to the filename while adding a schedule to the report. I have checked that property but still while generating the report i am not able to see the date appended with the report name. It just takes the cycle name that i had mentioned.
I am using IR 11.1.
Any help is appreciated.

Do to the complexity of the program we need to run it with sequences. This is because we need to aquire data with DAQ until it reaches a certain point and then stop collecting so that it can do its process (only once for all times criteria is met), and then loop around till again collecting after DAQ drops back below certain point looking to once again reach that point. Another flat sequence is going outside of this where I want to put the prompt and have a user input to affect how many times that that the inner loop is run (No a For Loop instead of the while loop will not work either for other reasons).
I just want to know if after the program starts you can have a user input that will change the effect of the rest of the programs action based on the number inputed.
